Tag Library Descriptor (TLD) file

In a Tag Library Descriptor (TLD) file, what does the tag
<rtexprvalue>false</rtexprvalue> mean when
applied to a tag's attribute?

http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.0/tutorial/doc/JSPTags5.html#66591
If the value is false, then a literal value must be supplied for the tag value, expressions or dynamic values cannot be used.

    The application tries to download something from java.sun.com site but the server can not access internet. The process is repeated for each TLD file !
    After a very time (more than 45 minutes!), the server finally starts and all adobe application are active
    So, how to correct this behaviror ? is there a patch?

  • Eclipse vs. (WebCenter) Portlet Tag Library Descriptor

    Hi there,
    one more question: What's the best way to teach Eclipse WTP about the portlet tag library (http://java.sun.com/portlet_2_0) mandated by JSR 286 and bundled with WebCenter itself? So far, it complains that it 'Can not find the tag library descriptor for "http://java.sun.com/portlet_2_0"')....
    For example, where can I find the actual physical TLD file that describes the WebCenter-specific implementation of this library? Or should I use the equivalent TLD coming from another portlet container (e.g. Apache Pluto), instead (while working within Eclipse, at least)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    I'm not sure that this IDE warning really matters. Things should work fine, when you deploy your portlets into the portal container. But have you tired:
    Oracle/Middleware/jdeveloper/webcenter/modules/oracle.portlet.server_11.1.1/oracle-portlet-tags.jar
    You'll find a portlet TLD within that jar.

    i just created one JSPDynPage component. and an error is shown at the uri="tagLib"

    The problem is that the word 'tagLib' is marked and has the hoovering text "Cannot find the tag library descriptor for tagLib". Why is this? Do I have to do add some dc dependency ? Or is there another cause for this problem?
    I am working with CE 7.2 .

    Hi Pavan,
    For using htmlb, you can use another tag library. Use the below code in your jsp
    <%@ taglib uri = "prt:taglib:tlhtmlb" prefix="hbj" %>
    And in portalapp.xml, replace the <property> of <component-profile> with the below line.
    <property name="tlhtmlb" value="/SERVICE/com.sap.portal.htmlb/taglib/htmlb.tld">
    Also, you may need to add the import statement for htmlb, if not done earlier -
    <%@ page import = "com.sapportals.htmlb.*" %>

  • Cannot find the tag library descriptor

    I trying to do the Java EE 5 Tutorial. It is called 'hello1' (chapter 2) and it's supposed to run a 'hello duke' program. However it is in Netbeans and I am trying to use ECLIPSE.

  • Tag Library Error

    I am using Jdeveloper and BEA Weblogic 8.1 application server environment.
    I have custom tag and tld file for the tag. When I try to compile it , I am getting this error which just points to the begininng of the jsp file which uses the tag.
    Error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;ZLjava/lang/String;ZZ)V
    I've tried searching online and found that it may be caused by the the wrong jar reference in classpath. I've tried adding whole bunch of different versions of servlet.jar to my classpath in the project properties but I am still getting the same error.
    Please advice
    Mikhail

    I've tried putting weblogic.jar into the web-inf/lib folder and also added library reference in the project properties but that did not fixed it.

              weblogic whines constantly about it.

    I figured it out. Under the Configuration/TagLibraries,
    create a CrossTagAttr folder and stick a .vtm file in it. In the
    .vtm file, use the <crosstag_attributes> tag and its
    children. See Configuration/TagLibraries/CrossTagAttr/Spry/Spry.vtm
    for an example.

  • Where (on the Sun site) are the TLD files?

    Could someone tell me where I can find the c.tld tag library descriptor file for jstl.jar ?
    I am unable to find the *.tld files for jstl.jar and other jsp libraries.
    Not here:
    http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/jstl/
    Not here:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/jwsdp/index.jsp
    Not here:
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/download.html
    I downloaded the j2eesdk1.4.1 , and the files were not in there. I installed the entire app server.
    I already have 5 app servers installed on my machine. This is very annoying.
    Generally, it takes me too long to find what I'm looking for on the Sun site. In this case, I can't find it at all!

    Do you have the jstl.jar and standard.jar? If you rename standard.jar to standard.zip, open it up, look under META-INF, the tlds are there.

  • JSP Tag library

    I keep getting this error when I try to transform an xml file into html.
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to open taglibrary http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/xsl-1.0 : null
    Here is the jsp file
    <%@taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/xsl-1.0"
    prefix="xsltlib" %>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Book Inventory</title>
    </head>
    <body bgcolor="white">
    <center>
    Welcome
    <font color="red">
    On Sale Today ...
    </font>
    <p></p>
    <xsltlib:apply xml="cdcatalog.xml" xsl="cdcatalog.xsl"/>
    </center>
    </body>
    </html>

    I think first od all you have to download the Tag Libraray from this location
    http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-taglibs/nightly/projects/xsl/
    and then configer you web application like
    Follow these steps to configure your web application with this tag library:
    * Copy the tag library descriptor file (xsl/xsl.tld) to the /WEB-INF subdirectory of your web application.
    * Copy the tag library JAR file (xsl/xsl.jar) to the /WEB-INF/lib subdirectory of your web application.
    * Copy the support libs xerces.jar and xalan.jar to the /WEB-INF/lib directory of your web application.
    * Add a <taglib> element to your web application deployment descriptor in /WEB-INF/web.xml like this:
    <taglib>
    <taglib-uri>http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/xsl-1.0</taglib-uri>
    <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/xsl.tld</taglib-location>
    </taglib>
    To use the tags from this library in your JSP pages, add the following directive at the top of each page:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/xsl-1.0" prefix="x" %>

  • Unable to add Custom JSP 1.2 Tag Library to Project

    I am trying to upgrade to a newer version of JDeveloper (10.1.3.0.4) but am having a problem with projects that use custom JSP tag libraries.
    After converting the project (.jpr) files to the new version, I double click and go to "JSP Tag Libraries." When I click on "Add" to add a new JSP Tag library, only JSP version 1.1 libraries are shown, I cannot choose any JSP 1.2 tag libraries.
    my TLD files are all JSP 1.2, so I am not quite sure why this isn't working in a newer JDeveloper after it has worked fine in the past. If I examine any JSP page that uses my taglibs, I see the following 2 kinds of error:
    the line:
    <%@ taglib uri="taglib.uri" prefix="mytag" %>
    is underlined in red and says "the tag library taglib.uri is referenced, but not installed"
    And for any lines that try to use the custom tag:
    <mytag:dosomething>
    there is a yellow/orange underline that says "no grammar available for namespace taglib.uri, contents of element dosomething cannot be validated"
    Note that I can add the taglib JAR file under Tools > Manage Libraries, but I cannot add the JSP tag library to my project. Is there some sort of compatibility issue when transferring project files from an old version of JDeveloper?
    Any help would be appreciated

    Yes any new project I create I can specify JSP 1.2 or 2.0 with the wizard and it works fine.
    But I don't want to re-create my entire project file again just to register my taglibs.
    Here's the JSP related section in web.xml:
    <!-- TagLibraries -->
    <taglib>
    <taglib-uri>taglib.uri</taglib-uri>
    <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/mytag.tld</taglib-location>
    </taglib>
    It's definately something in the project itself... but I am lost as to what it is.
    Edit: nvm I fixed it. It was the web.xml. I had to change the line:
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN" "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_2.dtd">
    into
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">
    and it worked. Thanks.
