Take multiple inputs from BNC2120

I have a BNC2120 board.
I need to take inputs from two channels and display the outputs on separate waveform graphs.
My current VI takes two inputs from channel A2 and A6 and the data is sent to waveform graph 1 and 2 thorugh a signal splitter.
I however see the same signal on both the graphs.
I am a beginner with LabView and need the solution asap!
Thanks

When i connect the graph directly, i see two graphs on my screen, with different colors (they can be defined in properties). The same problem however, they follow each other with a little gap on the Y- axis.
When i disconnect the cable, i see just the connected signal on my graph. and everything runs normally.
I haven't tried index array yet due to the simple reason that i don't know how to.
If there is a possibility that it solves my problem, do you mind explaining to me or pointing to a source that can help me implement it.?
and yes i have seen dynamic datatype and as a beginner, i could'nt even start understanding what was going on there!
I have plans to learn it in future but for now, i would like to stick express VIs!

• Take an input from the dashboard to the data base

Hi all
I need to take a text from the dashboard and insert it to the database
is there anyone experienced about that ?
thanks in advance

Hey Mohammed,
Dashboard is used to view the industries KPI, I really don't understand the need of pushing the data from reporting side to DB. If the customers are not clear about that, as a developer we need to explain them the process. On top of all this, if its really helpful for the analysis, then go with them.
I never tested this, though i have heard about this scenario. Below mentioned links can helpful for you to understand the data flow.

• Multiple inputs from a user using the same variable !

Hi Folks,
I am trying out the following code block, which should ask the users to enter 3 different names using '&' operator & assign it to a variable v_ename every time the loop executes.
declare
type ename_table_type is table of
emp.ename%type
index by binary_integer
ename_table ename_table_type
begin
for i in 1..3 loop
ename_table( i ):= '&v_ename';
dbms_output.put_line(ename_table(i));
end loop;
end
The above code accepts a single input from the user & assigns the same input 3 times to "ename_table".thus the output shows the same name 3 times.
Is it possible that we can have the user input 3 different names & then print them using the concept of Index by binary_integer ?
Please help
Thanks
Om

Server side PL/SQL is NOT designed for this kind of user interaction.
the "&" character is intrepreted by the SQL*Plus application and before the PL/SQL block is submitted to the DB by the SQL*Plus application, it replaces each appearance of the &variable with the value entered. Once the block gets to the database, all it sees is a constant value - no more a variable name.
&variable_name is a SQL*Plus application thing, not the database.
Where will this type of logic will be eventually used? What client application will interact with the server side PL/SQL? You need to code this input logic in that client application.

• Wanna take multiple inputs while not equal 'n'....

Hi buddies plz tell me this problem I've got much tries...
Bye
Naushad Rahim

In order to process your inputs you need a LOOP and an array processing capability. For which you need a more flexible front end than SQL can provide. PL/SQL of course has both constraucts, but it is a background programming tool and has no facility for taking on-line user input.
You might be able to write a shell script to do this. Otherwise you could knock up a form of some description.

• How to take Input from the callers telephone keypad into oracle database

My client requires to automate a registration task for his customers by telephone. The requirement is the Oracle database should take numeric input from the callers telephone keypad eg 1 or 2 or 3 and the oracle must store this input inside its database and do some required processing with such input and generate a unique numeric id (sequence) and send back this unique numeric ID to the caller who is on hold. Please Note. Is there any electronic device to be installed at the client site to solve the above task eg. any telephone line to be connected to the CPU and etc?
I completely have zero knowledge. Please can you outline/summarise the instructions how to construct and install to meet my client requirement.
If this is not possible in Oracle I Can migrate to any database. Please suggest.
please help me. if you cant help i appretiate if you give me some clues

You need to start with your telephone system. Normally this situation would involve some sort of PBX or other internal switching equipment. Talk to your vendor. There's likely to be software, etc. available to perform the interaction with the end user.
It should have programmable "hooks" to interface with various databases. To Oracle it just looks like another program.

• Comparing input from command line to a String token problem

Hi,
I want to compare my input from the command line to a token.
my command line looks like "java myProgram george bush president washington"
The next command could be "java myProgram geoge president washington"
Basically I have a text file which has a name, job and location field. The text file looks as follows
jim, farmer, chicago
paul, builder, texas,
george bush, president, washington
I am using string tokenizer with a "," as my field delimiter.
My lecturer wants me to take the input from the command line so applets are out of the question. However even though there are 3 fields, args.length() could equal 4 because "george bush" is only the name but george is args[0] and bush is args[1]. Is there a way to have a delimiter on the command line instead of a space such a ",". Can anyone see any other way around this?
Thanks

• Problem with tokenized input from command line

I am trying to take an input from the command line, parse it to tokens and perform whatever operation is needed depending on the name of the token, on a binary tree of stacks for example, if i type 1 2 1 3 printLevelOrder, then the root of the tree should have 3, 2,1 in the stack, the left child should have 1 and the right child should be empty. and then a level order print of the tree should be performed.
however what is happening when i run this code is the numbers are being put into the right stacks of the tree, but any commands such as printLevelOrder or PrintPopRoot are entering the code that is for placing numbers onto the stack instead of executing that command and skipping past this piece of code.
so my question is, why is the if statement if (word =="printLevelOrder") not being executed when thats whats in the word ?
example input and output shown below code fragment.
try {
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));

• Multiple cuts from multicam sequence produce stacked video?

Hey everyone,
I don't know if this is by design or if I'm experiencing a bug.
I have created a multicam sequence. I want to take multiple cuts from it, so I set my first in and out points and drag that over to my sequence. After that, I set new in and out points and drag that over to my sequence, but instead of a multicam clip on the timeline, I get stacked layers of video.
I'd prefer if I could bring the multicam sequence over again.
Am I doing something wrong? Seems like it should work that way but maybe my workflow is not appropriate. Please share your thoughts, thank you.

Thanks for your answer. Extremely disappointed that Adobe can't get this simple stuff right.
CC isn't exactly living up to things very well today. Much easier (and quicker) to the M/C in FCPX, maybe I can XML it across later.
Also, PP CC crashed on me 9 times in 2 hours (the dialog that says a serious error has occurred). Not going well. FCPX (and everything else) is rock solid, so it's not a hardware problem.
It's a shame. There's been enough improvements in other things I'd actually begun to think a CC subscription may be worth it, but I think I'll stick with CS6 after all.

• Multiple fields from a rowset into 1 text field

Is there anyway to take multiple rows from a rowset. And append them together in one text field?
example
rowsetloc/county = 33
rowsetloc/permit = 214
then in my text box on my form have 33-214.
I'm using BC4J to develop my applications.
null

John,
You can do this at several BC4J "levels"; I would suggest modifying your view to contain this attribute.
Modify the SELECT statement of your view to contain something like
"SELECT
TheTable.COUNTY,
TheTable.PERMIT
TheTable.COUNTY | | '-' | | TheTable.PERMIT AS SPECIALNUMBER
FROM THETABLE TheTable"
So, you are basically creating an attribute by concating two columns from the database.
Then, you might be able to remove the other attributes, County and Permit. You must provide some logic to provide editability and validation of this new attribute, SpecialNumber. This could be a bit of work...

• Teststand - multiple reads from DAQ (34970A) at one time

Hi All,
I'm using teststand 3.5 to test 8 UUT's at one time. I need to take some measurements from the UUT's in parallel to make the test time more efficient. Is it possible to take multiple readings from theDAQ (34970A) at the same instant??
Thanks
Paul

You can set up a scan list to take as many reads as you want. Each channel is read sequentially. Of course, if you are using the parallel model, you can't do this. If you are using the batch model, then you can have a single read.
The 34970 is a very, very slow instrument so you may or may not see much improvement. Be sure you have auto-range turned off.

• *a bit urgent * How to take multiple rows of same input?

Hi,
I need to make an user interface which takes multiple rows of same input.
For eg.. online eGreetings sites..
You select the the number of eCard receipents froma drop down and the page refreshes and that many number of text fields appear.. where you can put in multiple addresses..
Its like a dataTable.. but instead of showing the data it should input data...in each row
I hope I could clarify myself..
I would like to know
- how to map the fields to the managed bean
- how to create the user interface
Some could be appreciated..
Thanks and regards
