Multiple fields from a rowset into 1 text field

Is there anyway to take multiple rows from a rowset. And append them together in one text field?
example
rowsetloc/county = 33
rowsetloc/permit = 214
then in my text box on my form have 33-214.
I'm using BC4J to develop my applications.

You can do this at several BC4J "levels"; I would suggest modifying your view to contain this attribute.
Modify the SELECT statement of your view to contain something like
"SELECT
TheTable.COUNTY,
TheTable.PERMIT
TheTable.COUNTY | | '-' | | TheTable.PERMIT AS SPECIALNUMBER
FROM THETABLE TheTable"
So, you are basically creating an attribute by concating two columns from the database.
Then, you might be able to remove the other attributes, County and Permit. You must provide some logic to provide editability and validation of this new attribute, SpecialNumber. This could be a bit of work...

Hi All,
I have a issue related Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program.
Actual issue is as below.
In the selection screen of my program i will give Application Server Path as :
/PW/DATA/SAP/D1S/PP/DOWN/eppi0720*
Then the based on above input it should pick up all the files that are matching eppi0720* criteria.
Suppose if i am having 5 files with above scenario, i have to fetch all those 5 files at a time and place in my SAP Program.
All those 5 file's data should come into SAP at a time.
Can anybody tell me how can we solve above issue.
If any body has come across same issue please provide me with solution.

If you want to get around the authorization check, you can do something like this.

Scanning multiple pages from print book into computer

How to scan multiple pages from print book into computer? Someone supplied a link to this question, but I got stuck at step 1: Where is "HP Director software"? In other directions, it says to open the "HP Scan window," but that option is not available to me when I follow the directions. I have an HP 2159m computer, HP Photosmart Plus all-in-one, Windows 7, and use Firefox, if that's any help.

I have a similar problem:
I am using an HP Officejet 6310xi via its TWAIN interface. Regardless of which application invokes TWAIN (whether Irfanview, Thumbs Plus, or something else), the scanner dialog closes after transferring each scanned image. To scan the next page requires re-starting the scanner, beginning with a whole new preview and re-entering all my scan settings. This is only an issue with the HP scanner, not with my Cannon CanoScan LIDE 100, Visioneer OneTouch 8920, or any other scanner, each of whose scanner dialogs stay open for scan after scan. Can anyone help me make the HP scanner dialog stay open for multiple pages?
Note: Based on a suggestion on another site I set my scan preferences to include "Prompt for Additional Scans from Glass" as follows, but it did not help.
I am experienced at scanning, but I find it extremely frustrating that the HP scan dialog closes, forgetting its settings, after each page.

How to store the data coming from network analyser into a text or excel file

Hii everyone
I'm using Agilent 8719ET network analyser and wish to store the data coming from netowrk analyser into a text file/ excel file.
Presently I'm able to get the data on Labview graph using GPIB . Can anyone suggest how to go ahead after collect data sub vi. How can the data be stored into a file apart from showing on the graph?

First let me say that your code really looks pretty good. The data handling could be made more efficient by calculating the number of datapoints that are going to be in the completed dataset and preallocating the entire array -- but depending upon your answer to my questions, the logic in the lower shift register may be going away - so we won't worry about that right now.
The thing I need to know before addressing the data storage question is: Each time you call "Collect and Display Data.vi", how many element are in the array? Are you reading single data points, or a group of data? (BTW: if the answer to that question is obvious based on the way the other VIs are setup, I don't have the drivers so I can't tell what the setup values are.) Second, how fast does the loop iterate? Are we talking msec per loop?, seconds? fortnights?
The issues here are two-fold: how much data? and how fast is it coming? The answer to these will tell you how to save the data.

I have a query here.
In the copy controls VLTA, defines between sales doc to dlivery doc.
Here we want to maintain copy control between purchasing doc to delivery doc.
How do we achive this?
Also in my view we should write a new combination requirement.
Please check if combination requirement 51 can be used?

There are two ways to do this that I cn think of right off the bat.
One is to create a class of objects that can receive the entire row, and
give it methods that will return each of the individual objects that you are
looking for when called. If you use INTO :ARRAY, you get the advantage of
being able to pass the array anywhere in your system for the 'split up'
processing.
Two is to do basically the same thing, but instead doing the 'split up'
during a for loop. This will appear to slow down your query, however, as
extra processing will be occuring in terms of memory allocation and copying.
I'm sure there other approaches. This was simply what came to mind at
midnight, after a long day :-).

How do I extract multiple tracks from a CD into a single file in Audition CS6?

I use Audition to edit my Pastor's messages. The message CD is made with five minute tracks. I want to extract the tracks from the CD into a single file for editing and altering the track lengths. I have done this before in Audition CS6, but I haven't been able to find instructions for it. I only found a note stating this is available in AuditionCC.

I have discovered an answer to my problem. The way to bring multiple tracks into Audition CS6 from a CD is to use the FILE / OPEN APPEND / TO NEW command. This brings the separate tracks into a single file in Audition CD6. Thanks to everyone who commented.

Is there a way to prevent or lock a user from pasting text from another source into a text field in Acrobat Reader?

We require them to enter their own text into the field. The form was created in LiveCycle Designer and is accessed by users in Reader. Thanks

You can't prevent someone from pasting, but you can use a script to check if more than one character was pasted at a time, and prevent it if it's true. This would be a reasonable alternative it seems, but you should post this question in the LiveCycle Designer forum if you need help with the script.

Hi Varma,
Even if you want to personalise the Text also you can do without checking the DICTREF checkbox. Dirctly you can give the text in the Text elements by using the Menu GOTO -> Text Elemetns -> Selection Texts.

Multiple values from database on a single text item

i am trying to do the following
on a single text item in a form
(under form property pallete->records->number of items displayed is 5) run a triger "when-new-block-instance" with the following pl/sql statement
declare
menu_item VARCHAR2(35);

select label into menu_item
from menu_options;

however, once i run the form it gives me
WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger raised unhandeled exception ORA-01422
however, if in the pl/sql statement contains only
begin
execute querry;
end;
then it works fine
The problem i beleive is the fact that the first querry retreives multiple values or recordset instead of A record.
How can i go arond this and allow the form to list all the values in this form. Eventually i will need to add conditional SQL statments and that is why just execute querry will not work.
Also, is there a way to dynamically assign a number to "number of records shown" property?

I teach Forms, and I usually find a bad idea to use SQL statements directly (in particular when you can "make" Forms to do what you want).
Inside PL/SQL, a SELECT..INTO statement is supposed to select a single row, otherwise an error occurs.
EXECUTE_QUERY works.
If by "conditional SQL statements" you mean restricted (filtered) queries, you don't need to write SQL to do this.
You can set the DEFAULT_WHERE block property to a different value before using EXECUTE_QUERY, like:
SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('your_block', DEFAULT_WHERE, 'where menu_id > 100');
And the answer to your second question is no, you cannot dynamically change the number of records a block is displaying.
You can limit the number of records your block queries from the database table using Maximum Records Fetched block property (available in Forms 6 and above, not sure about Forms 5). However, this will only work as expected if you set Query All Records to Yes.

Access 2010 - How to display data from a table into a text box upon combo box selection?

I have a a table with 5 columns: month, year, USD, SGD, BAHT.
I created a form with a combo box for selection of the month and year, and I would like to set adjacent text boxes to show USD, SGD, BAHT information. How can i go about doing that?
From the Q&A here, most of them uses the function similar to this "=[Combo0].[Column](1)" to show the data in the text box, but this would require the combo box to list a whole bunch of details if i were to add in more currency values to the
table. Is it possible to not show this information in the combo box, but still populate data in the textboxes base on a selection on only the "month" and "year" in the combo box.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to show only the month/year in the combo box, we can choose the date, and it will display the value of USD/SGD/BAHT based on the month/year.
If it is, I recommend you try the steps:
Create a form based on your data source table>Add the combo box>combo box wizard>Find a record on my form based on the value I selected my combo box>Add mouth and year to selected fields

Writing information from a StringBuffer into a text file in KM

Hello All,
Is there a way to write content such as a text file into the KM.
The only way I can see at this point is:
1. create a resource
2. transfer stringBuffer into an inputStream
3. Update the resource with the inputStream
This feels awkward and I have not tried it yet. Basically I want to write reports into a KM directory.

createResource always takes InputStreams. Why is that a problem? Just use string.toBytes(encoding) and ByteArrayInputStream to obtain a stream for that.
Just be sure that you're consistent in the character encodings you use when obtaining the byte array from the string (UTF-8 recommended) and when creating the Content object.

I create a search help which have 2 parameters.
The 1st parameter is as like as ztable field.
but 2nd parameter is not a data base field. It display only the value from value table.
Now I want to use it on a ztable when insert data from zreport.
I also take a text field to display the 2nd parameter which is not in DDIC.
how can I display 2nd parameter on the screen text field ?

Batch uploading multiple projects from Aperture 3 into sets on Flickr

I'm a new Aperture user (ex iPhoto) and imported all my photo's into Aperture. Like many of you here I sort my projects into folders locally in format year-month-date - title.
Now I've imported all these folders (around 450) at once and each local folder is nicely imported as a seperate project. So far so good.
In the past I've started syncing all these folders to Flickr sets through the Flickrs uploadr (manually creating each folder, tagging etc). Aperture has Flickr syncing build in which is great, but it seems like I can only sync one project at a time. When I select multiple projects the flicks icon turns 'unavailable'. Does anyone now is this can be done?
And secondly is there a way to format the title of each created set (through Apple Script which I don't now anything about?) or is it perhaps built into Aperture?

Oh, baby! This bad boy flies!! Here's what to expect:
I had 40,000 images in Aperture 3 and it was dog slow at everything. I installed 3.1 update today. It took 5 minutes to update the database and then behaved marginally better than before at ASIC library navigation. I was disappointed.
Then I QUIT the app. It took a couple of hours to "update files for sharing" with a counter that went to 110,000 images. So it must have updated every thumbnail and variation of preview. Turned it back on , and BAM. Came up fully in seconds. Paused for 10 seconds ten everything was lickrty split. For the first time ever, I can use the Projects view with all 791 projects and scroll quickly. I even put it in photos modevand whipped thru all 49,000 images!
Haven't done anybprocessing yet, but i'm liking it!!

How to restrict user to select date from the calendar into a text item

I am using oracle 10g.IN a form i am having a block 'client_block' in that i am having a text_item ' entry_date' which is a datebase item and i have set enabled false in property palette and i created an image item on the same form and i have an calendar icon on it .In when_image_pressed trigger for image item i have written this code
SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('CLIENT_BLOCK.ENTRY_DATE',ENABLED,PROPERTY_TRUE);
DATE_LOV.Get_Date(sysdate,'CLIENT_BLOCK.ENTRY_DATE');
This is working perfectly but user can enter or delete date into the text_item through keyboard i want to restrict that they can only select date from calendar.
I have tried setting item property enabled false in triggers but it is not working.
Can someone help me what trigger i have to use and how?.
