Take readings from Lakeshore 336 T controller through VISA TCPIP, but very slow
I connected a Lakeshore 336 Temperature controller to a PC ethernet card by using a normal RJ45 cable.
The VISA resource name is set as "tcpip::192.168.0.12::7777::socket". But the readings is very slow. It takes about 2 seconds for reading one sensor data. But the manual says "10 readings/second".
I tried both Lakeshore 336 Temperature controller and PC connected to a router, but the same slow speed.
How can I get reading as fast as GPIB interface using Ethernet port?
Thanks.
LV2013SP1@Win7Pro
WT
Attached are the snapshots of the front panel and block diagram (with 2 probes) of the VI reading LS336 sensor.
There are 2 probes inserted. One is right after VISA Write, which shows no error; the other one is right after VISA Read, which shows error. But strangely, the VI still acquires the sensor readings correctly even the error occurs.
Thanks in advance.

File transfers from iMac to Windows Share on another computer. Very slow!
Hopefully someone has some ideas on how best to troubleshoot this.
I have an iMac and a Windows 2003 File Server.
The iMac sits on a gigabit switch with another computer, an XP machine and the 2003 File Server sits on another gigabit switch.
The problem I'm having is that transfers from the iMac to the 2003 File Server are very slow whereas from the XP machine on the same switch they are fast.
Any ideas on how to test this or how I might fix the problem?
The Network interface itself is set to:
1000baseT
full-duplex
MTU: standard (1500)
I've tried it with both full-duplex and full-duplex (flow control).
The directory I'm transfering is a 7.56gb directory and it's taking over an hour to transfer.
Thanks
JoshThis doesn't quite work at all. I can understand for OSX to be serving the files the need too change /etc/smb.conf, however, my OSX machine doesn't serve any files, thus the smb service is offline. I have tried adding that tag to my fileserver using samba (its a linux nas box) and it still is slow as ****. I know it works with tiger because one of my sisters is using a macbook on tiger and is able to connect wirelesssly to it and download files as fast as my MBP downloads through ethernet (mine is leopard). My other sister has the exact same configuratino of macbook, however hers is leopard like mine and it moves crazy slow. I know this is the reason why apple pedaled back about network drive time machine because they realized the broke something so I'm giving them the beneffit of the dooubt. If 10.5.2 rolls around and I don't see improvement I think i'll just go back to tiger...

Hp 8600 All in one printer problem with scanning through wired network its very slow!
Hi
i have problem with scanning thru network which takes almost more than 2minutes very slow compared to scanning when printer connected locally with USB. i need some solution to fix this issue. Plz advise me what needs to be done prior to scanning?Welcome to the community @Larrypat
I understand your printer is not connecting wireless and only connecting USB. I have some questions and ideas for you that should help. Let's get to it!
Could you please remove the USB cable, run the Print and Scan Doctor again and send me a screen shot of the results from running the diagnostic tool?
Also let me know which model from the C7200 series you have:
HP Photosmart C7250 All-in-One Printer
HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer
HP Photosmart C7288 All-in-One Printer
Try power cycling the network devices:
Turn off the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press any buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, next turn on the printer and computer. Run the Print and Scan Doctor afterwards and try printing.
Let me know how it goes and the results

Its in the title.
Nothing in the instructions about transferring via "HomeSharing" states to use the Import button.
Have you actually read the instructions?
What specific step are you having an issue with?
The article from which your question was posted provides details on how to transfer the iTunes library multiple ways, did you try one of the other methods? -
Local mac-to-mac transfers goes through the internet connection (very slow)
Transfering files from my iMac to my MacBook Air (or the opposite way) over my local Time Capsule wireless network is extremely slow. I connect to my MacBook Air using my local username account on that machine (which is the same as on the iMac). When I click on the connected MacBook Air again (under shared in Finder’s left column) it says I'm connected as [email protected] (my MobileMe address). Transfers then goes with around 50KB/s which is the same as my outbound capacity on my internet connection. If I disconnect the internet from the Time Capsule I get transfers around 2.2MB/s.
I can’t actually log in as a local user on my other local machine. It goes through the internet no matter how I log in. Back To My Mac is even turned off on both machine.
How can I fix this? You actually are close enough to their 3meg down that you can't complain. 2.8meg down and 700kb up is fine, unless it's supposed to be their FIOS that is.
Sounds like it is the site(s) that are slow, like these boards at times.

I currently have firefox 6.0, and the newer version of windstream email. When I open firefox and then go to windstream.net and attempt to log into my email account, the program goes into a loop cycle and it keeps returning to the log in page. I have contacted Windstream and they say it is not their fault, but they also said that they were having problems with other customers. I can get to the email via IE, My computer is a Dell 3200 Inspirion and is and was very fast, enough so for me, but when you have to wait 2 minutes for an email to open, . To be honest, it could be something or a program that has infected my computer, but I have run Norton anti virus and it see's nothing. Running some of the commerical virus program checker's, they identify problems, but this problem has only shown up since your upgrade from 4.0 and windstreams upgrade to a newer version of their email system....

I tryed to buy from apple store i submit my visa card but it ask about goveromate i dont know it
what is the governomate
Is it a debit card? Debit cards are no longer listed as acceptible forms of payment (and how well they work varies from country to country depending on that country's rules)
If it's acard that pulls the money directly from your bank account that could be the issue. -
LabVIEW readings from a DMM too slow
Right now I am working on a program that takes readings from a multimeter and puts them into a graph. The multimeter is taking readings at 100 per second, while LabVIEW is only taking a number from the multimeter every five to six seconds. I am very new to LabVIEW so I am not sure if there is something in my program that is slowing it down or something that I can add to increase the frequency of readings taken. I have attached the program file I'm using and the multimeter is a Tektronix DMM4020, though I don't think the problem is with the multimeter. Any advice would be great, thanks in advance.

Hello!
I met with very strange activesync behaviour. We ported our bsp (based on smdk6410) from WinCE 6.0 to WinCE 7.0. the problem is that WinCE 7.0 copy files from desktop computer into device through ActiveSync (or WMDC) very slowly. With WinCE 6.0 this was
much faster (with WinCE 7.0 the speed becomes slower many times). I tried the same files. I tried different desktop OS - XP, Windows 7, Windows 8. The result is same. The hardware of the device is the same for both WinCE 6.0 and WinCE 7.0. The bsp in general
is the same too. The file is transfered slowly from desktop into WinCE 7.0 device in both cases - through ActiveSync gui and through Rapi api using our software.
Note, that our bootloder transfer OS image via RNDIS with the same speed as using WinCE 6.0. So looks like the problem in WinCE 7.0 in USB serial or in ActiveSync desktop or device sides...
In addition!!! The very strange thing is that I found only two cases when WinCE 7.0 transfers file through activesync with the same speed as in WinCE 6.0 (with fast speed):
1. When I transfer from desktop OS that is XP installed on Virtual Machine (using VMware). However the speed is normal only with XP on VMware. I tried with Windows 8 on VMware and the speed was slow too.
2. It's very interesting fact. When I press Sync button in desktop ActiveSync dialog the trasfer becomes normal (fast)! during time when activesync is performing synchronization. When synchronization finished the speed looks slow again... So when I press
Sync button all the time when a file is transfered - a file is loaded into desktop fast (the time is the same as using WinCE 6.0...) This behaviour occurs for all desktop OS.
Note that the problem is actual only for trasferring from desktop into device. WinCE 7.0 trasfers files from device into desktop normal.
Can somebody describe that?
Thanks!Which version of SuSE Linux would possibly help here. I'm using version 7.3 Pro and it is only 10 minutes slower than my installation on XP Pro (the script is 16 pages long and takes 8,000,000 records and converts them into 30,000 records of useful information-takes 20 minutes in XP, 30 minutes in SuSE 7.3 on a personal computer). I used the orarun9i script and followed the directions for re-compiling the genclntsh from the SuSE installations online.

Navigate away from site with flash under Firefox4 + OSX, very slow. Bug?
I have problem to navigate away from a page with flash under Firefox4 + OSX. Very slow (takes 30-60 seconds after clicking on a link). No problem in Win/Ubuntu with Firefox4. No problem with Firefox 3.6 or other browsers under Win/Ubuntu/OSX.
When you say you play it, in either Captivate or Flash, do
you mean
locally or that you upload it somewhere and play it back
through a web
browser from that website location?
If the former, then I'm not sure. If the latter, sounds like
the images
are Very Large and it's taking a while for them to download
in order to
play...but once they're downloaded and 'cached', the file
plays quickly.
How large are your published SWFs? What format are your
images? What DPI?

Trying to photograph a sunset through tree branches, but camera won't focus properly
I have an SX50HS, am trying to take a zoom shot of the sunset through tree branches, but the camera will only focus on the branches...trying to get the sun in focus
Solved!
Go to Solution.Normally, I use the Manual mode of the camera. What I usually do is to put the camera in manual focus mode and set to infinity. You might also try setting the metering to spot meter. Make sure you are using a high enough shutter speed to avoid camera shake, and use an aperature of around f5. Too wide of an aperture (f2.0) will also blur the background, so keep the aperture to a higher number to keep everything focused. (smaller aperture).

My iMac keeps on diconnecting from my network and The internet is very slow on it too.
Hi
My iMac has been acting wierd for the past month. It has been disconnecting from the internet/network and also it has a very slow speed when using Safari or any other internet application (eg. Skype). Im not sure why this is happening. My iMac has Windows installed (100GB partioned) and yet the internet is fast on it than the Mac side. On other computers and mobiles the internet is very fast, and does not disconnect. I scanned my computer and it came up with nothing.
Please Someone Help...If you connect to your router with with Wi-Fi, please try connecting with an Ethernet cable. Turn Wi-Fi off and test. Any difference?

I have take pictures from my ipad 4. How to download to my computer with windows operating system conneted through USB cable with out using internet
Plug your iPad into your computer. THere may be a delay while it installs drivers but if you can see your iPad in windows explorer, use that to get to your photos.
Click on your iPad and you should see a DCIM folder. Click thorugh that to find your photos.
Windows explorer will see your iPad as nothing more than a digital camera, and that's the part you're trying to access.
