Target InDesign version

Hi All,
I am having Indesign CS5 and CS6 in my machine, i want to run JS in CS5, how do i target the version
can any one help me on this...
my code:
#target indesign;
Thanks,
David

@David – See page 235 of "Java Script Tools Guide CS5.pdf" for details on #target and details on "namespace" for the individual application see page 191 ("Application and namespace specifiers"):
http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/indesign/pdfs/JavaS criptToolsGuide_CS5.pdf
So:
#target indesign-7.0
should target CS5
#target indesign-7.5
should target CS5.5
#target indesign-8.0
should target CS6
However I had no luck with an added locale to the version name out of the ESTK:
#target indesign-7.5-de_de
//Some alert:
alert(app.version);
should address a German InDesign CS6 but yielded an error:
"indesign-7.5-de_de is undefined"
The following would work, but I cannot test against a second (e.g. international) version installed:
#target indesign-7.5 de_de
//Some alert:
alert(app.version);
However, if you double click on a script in the Scripts Panel and you are using no #target direction the targetted app should automatically be the app where the Scripts Panel belongs to.

  • The target costs in target cost version 0 are missing

    Dear Experts,
I am getting following error while running Varience cost through KKS2:
Only remaining var. in version 0 - no target costs for 000001061683 0001
    Message no. KV151
    Diagnosis
For the calculation of variances with 000001061683 0001, the target costs in target cost version 0 are missing for the following reasons:
There were no planned costs and/or planned quantities (see earlier message).
The quantities on which the planned costs were based are zero in the time period concerned. This may be caused by the fact that no goods receipt for a cost object (such as a product cost collector or production order) has been entered.
This results in target costs of zero.
    System response
Because no target costs were calculated, the difference between the
planned and actual costs could not be broken down into variance categories. The difference is updated as a remaining variance.
    Please suggest, How to proceed.
    Regards

    First check this...
1.Go to t.code OKEV.Select Controlling Area 2222 and create Plan / Target version.
The standard system supplies the following target cost versions:
Target cost version 0 ( total variance)
The amount of the total variance generates a posting in Financial Accounting during settlement.
For this version, select actual costs as the control costs and standard cost estimate as the target costs.
Target cost version 1 ( production variance)
For this version you choose actual costs as the control costs and planned costs as the target costs.
Target cost version 2( planning variance)
With target cost version 2, the costs from the preliminary order cost estimate are interpreted as control costs. For this version, select planned costs as the control costs and current cost estimate as the target costs. You cannot calculate planning variances for the product cost collector.
Target cost version 3 (production variance of the period)
You compare the planned costs of the period calculated on the basis of an alternative material cost estimate (such as a modified standard cost estimate) with the actual costs of the period on the basis of the yield delivered to stock in the period.
    2.Also try In CO02 goto cunctions...cost...
3.Go to transaction OKV6 these settings control what values are used to update the target costs.
Target cost comes from the standard price calculated when doing a costing run. Actual costs are costs that you incur during the production order (we can reassign costs during the order so this could be different from the standard price).
Target Costs=Actual Quantitiy X the Standard Cost Estimate Price..
Probably the stand.cost estimate will be missing in ur case...

  • Mini Bridge Missing from InDesign CS6 after Upgrade to InDesign Version 8.1

I discussed this same problem https://forums.adobe.com/message/5833991 after upgrading to the prior version 8.0.2 of InDesign.
After upgrading to InDesign Version 8.1, Mini Bridge no longer works.  Mini Bridge does not show under the Window menu and shift-clicking the Bridge icon opens the full Bridge, not Mini Bridge.
With the prior version 8.0.2 problem, I was able to recover Mini Bridge by doing a re-install of InDesign under Window's Safe Mode.  Microsoft has somehow changed Safe Mode and I can no longer do the reinstall using Safe Mode.  I have tried several different ways of reinstalling version 8.1, but none of them correct this problem.  Still no Mini Bridge.
Mini Bridge does work in Photoshop CS6 with no problem.
I have read through all of the messages that seem to relate to this problem in this forum, but none of the suggested solutions work for me.
Can anyone provide me with an answer?  If not, how do I get help from Adobe?  I am willing to pay for support, if necessary.

RESOLVED - I can't believe it, but I have actually figured this out.
Getting frustrated with going in circles, I decided to dig into security options.  First off, I opened Windows' Properties for the start-up icon for InDesign.  Right off, I noticed under the Compatibility tab that InDesign was set to run in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3).  This did not seem right, so I turned off the option to run in Compatibility Mode and re-started up InDesign.  Low and behold, the option Window | Mini Bridge was now displayed!  And it worked!
Sorry to have bothered you gentlemen with this problem.  I really appreciate your assistance!
    Mark.

  • Target cost version 0

    Hi,
currently we are using target cost version 0 to calculate production variance. But to get correct production variance in relevant variance category it is needed to have current standard cost updated in material master.
But if we skip updating standard cost it'll not present the target cost and variance categories all variance included in remaining variance category.
We need to change target cosing version 0 to get any updated standard cost when it calculate production variance. But its not possible as target cost version 0 embedded with current standard cost.
Pls advice and give clear idea of target cost and target cost version if somebody having a good idea on this.
    Thank you !

  • Selecting InDesign version in VB script

I am having some difficulty with selecting the proper version of InDesign in my VB scripts.
Usually I use the connection string: CreateObject("InDesign.Application"), which will launch in whatever version is installed.
Now, one of my customers has installed version 6 along side with version 5.5, which means that I have to supply either: CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS5.5") or CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS6"), in order to get it to run on the proper version.
What I don't understand is why the script doesn't start within the version of InDesign that it is activated from. If I use the connection string: CreateObject("InDesign.Application"), and I start it from within InDesign version 6 (from the script menu), why does it launch version 5.5 and try to run the script there? Why does it not run inside the InDesign application that launched it?
It quickly becomes a mess to have to modify scripts whenever people install new versions of InDesign, so is there any way to ensure that a VB script is always run within the InDesign application that launched it, regardless of what other versions people might have installed?

you can use WMI to have a peak at all the ID processes.
here I have both CS4 and CS5 running, hopefully only one version should be running at a time, and we can use the ExecutablePath property to get the version (CS4 for instance) from it.

        " WHERE Name = 'indesign.exe'",,48)
      S2 = S2 & " Process Info:" & vbCrLf & vbCrLf
      For Each Ob in Col
        S2 = S2 & "Caption: " & Ob.Caption & vbCrLf

        S2 = S2 & "ProcessID: " & Ob.ProcessID & vbCrLf & "__________________________" & vbCrLf & vbCrLf
      Next
                msgbox S2
    Set Col = Nothing
    Set WMI = Nothing

Our client need to understand the differences between our target cost versions that are utilized in calculating the process order CO03 cost analysis.  When should each target version be used and why do the variances change?  See example below.
Target Version = 1       Target Cost Prelim Order Cost Estimate
Version = 0          Target Cost for Prod Variances
Can you please provide analysis and help me on this.
I higly appreciate for your help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Target JDK version?

Hi, I'm trying to get a string out of a database via JDBC. When I compile my code with "1.3.0" as target JDK version in the project properties settings, the java.sql.ResultSetMetaData().getColumnType(int column) method says my string is of type OTHER and it comes out as '3003D0022003100...'.
When I compile with "Jdeveloper_1.2.2" as target JDK version, the java.sql.ResultSetMetaData().getColumnType(int column) method returns a type value that does not correspond to any of the 27 types defined in java.sql.Types. The string looks as it should though. Why is this? Does the Oracle compiler or JVM change som settings in the sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver that maes the string com out right? How do I do to get the string out as a string with the standars JVM (say when i access it via a JSP)?
    /Fredrik

    Fredrik,
You don't mention which driver version you're using. I know with 8.1.6, there was a classes12.zip for using JDBC with the JDK 1.2.x, and a classes111.zip for using JDBC with JDK 1.1.8 (I think).
I don't know that they even have a classes13.zip available, so your results may vary if using JDK 1.3. The internal JVM on the server uses JDK 1.2.
I recommend checking the Oracle8i JDBC Developer's Guide and Reference for the version of the database you're connecting to and see info is provided there about compatibility with different versions of the JDK.

  • Extraction error "Target cost version in controlling area does not exists"

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to pull some data from a SAP OLTP system into SAP BW 710 system, using extractor "0CO_PC_02". The data load is failing with the below error message:
Target cost version in controlling area does not exist     KN     147
Target cost version 2 not defined. Check your entry     KV     35
    Internal program error ( Order 000010510554 Version 002 )     RM     11
Errors in source system     RSM     340
The same error is thrown when I am trying to execute the extractor in RSA3 in the source system.
Please help me with the resolution of the same. It's a high priority job we are handling as of now in this.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Migration tool Usage - Source & target portal versions

Central note for portal migration specifies that the source portal should be in SP2 Patch 5. However the note is not clear about target portal version. The situation is that we have our current portal in EP6SP2 Patch 4 and we are evaluting Netweaver portal features like collaboration with Stack 11 since Stack 9 (SR1) and Stack10 are having few problems. We obviously want to migrate portal contents in to Stack 11 to avoid upgrade down time.
1.Can we use the migration tool to migrate portal contents from SP2 Patch 5 to Stack 11 portal?.
    2. Why the source EP6Sp2 portal should be in Patch level 5. Is migration tool using any specific features of Patch 5?.  ( Since we are in EP6SP2 Patch 4, we need resources to upgrade to Patch 5, test the contents after patch 5 and live with "known issues" of patch 5 for some time before migrating).
I am sure that i am not the only persion in this situation ( Upgrade to Patch 5 -> Migrate Contents to SR1 -> Upgrade to Stack 11) . is anybody having any shortcuts to reduce the complexity of upgrading the portal to Netweaver environment?.
    Arul

    Hi,
Currently the flow you have descibed in the bottom of your post is correct. the source system must be at least EP6 SP2 Patch5.
The target system should be NW04 SR1 (no additional patches and no additional SPs). To this version you can run the migration. After the migration is done, one should upgarde to SP11.
Unfortunately, currently there is no shortcut...

  • ExtendScript script to target InDesign CC

I have a javascript that worked in InDesign CS6, but will not work in ID CC. First of all because I need it to target the new InDesign CC correctly.
I change the line #target Indesign-8.0  to #target Indesign-9.0, but that will not work. I get a message that says "Indesign-9.0" is undefined.
How do I properly get the script to properly call up the correct InDesign?

  • Need to keep CS6 CC InDesign version

I need to keep the CC CS6 InDesign Version. How do I do this?

I suggest you explain your question in a little more detail.  There are several ways your short question could be interpreted.  Some examples:
    A. You are a current CC subscriber and plan to continue being one but you want to know if you can "freeze" your InDesign version for some period of time (in other words, not automatically accept version changes but continue to pay for access to the software).
    B. You are a current CC subscriber to the whole CC bundle and you would like to start paying ONLY for InDesign.
    C. You are a current CC subscriber to some CC plan that includes InDesign but you don't want to pay for CC anymore.  You want to know if you can continue to use InDesign without continuing to pay.
    D. English is not your primary language and you just want to know how to find the version number of the InDesign you are using.

  • Error in Target cost version

    Hi Experts,
Can any body solve following error.
I was creating Target cost version ( T-code OKV6 ) but facing following error.
Version 2222 1 not intended to be used as the target cost version
    Diagnosis
The specified target cost version has not been flagged in central version maintenance as suitable for variance calculation.
    Procedure
    1. Check the entries in the central version table.
    2. If appropriate, flag the version as suitable for variance calculation.

    Hi Raja,
The standard system supplies the following target cost versions:
Try using "0" Version in combination with your Controlling Area.
    Pls revert back with result...

  • [svn:bz-trunk] 17029: Update all samples to remove target player version from calls to the mxmlc target .

    Author:   [email protected]
    Date:     2010-07-22 19:08:20 -0700 (Thu, 22 Jul 2010)
    Log Message:
Update all samples to remove target player version from calls to the mxmlc target. Now we will just use the target player version from the flex-config.xml file. As this is used to locate playerglobal.swc, it's unlikely we would need this to be different than what is in flex-config.xml.
Turn the ocx target for installing the player back on again and update it to use the new silent uninstall and install switches for the 10.1 player.
