Taxes in Consignment Sales

hi SAP Gurus,
Can anyone help me in, how excise and taxes are levied in the 4 different stages of consignment sales.
Normally excise is applicable when the material is moved out of the plant, i.e. consignment fillup, but in this stage no billing is created.
Hence, when and how excise is calculated?
Points will be rewarded.
Thanks in advance,
Surya

Dear Surya
Yes you are absolutely right.  Taxes and duties are exempted only in case of exports and will be applicable in case of domestic scenario.
In domestic process, you have to first come to a conclusion as to whether
- you are treating the agent / warehouse as a third party  or
- you are treating the agent / warehouse as your own depot
In case of first option, yes you have to levy duty and tax and in case of second one, only duty is applicable and tax is exempted.
thanks

  • Handing Tax during Consignment process

    Dear All,
In India, how to handle the excise part in the Consignment stock process.
    a) Consignment Fill-up - Need to pay the excise duty and not the Sales Tax as this is not sales.
    b) Consignment Issue - Need to pay the Sales Tax and not Excise duty as the ED has already been paid
    c) Consignment Return - Need to avail the Excise duty (even for more than six month) and Sales Tax (if the sales with in Six month) with reference to the original billing document.
    d) Consignment Pick-up - Need to avail the Excise duty only wrt the original billing document.
How to handle the above scenario and how many pricing procedures we should have?  We know only the procedure, but we want to know how to handle this in System?
Can anybody revert with the details?
    Thanks

If yes with consignment then what's the things need to take care.

    Hi Manjeet,
For the consignment issue, it is assumed that the consignment stock is
located in the same country as the ship-to-party. This is because it is
not always possible to determine the location of the stock at this part
of the program. You can set the tax departure country in the order

  • Consignment Sales Configuration

    Hi all,
The client has aked for the configuration of Consignment Sales process for a new Sales Organisation which is 1300.
Can anyone tell me the process and steps that are to be followed for the configuration of this Consignment process for a new sales orgn.
    Its urgent.
    thanks in advance
    Sourav

Consignment goods are goods which are stored at the customer location but which are owned by the company. The customer is not obliged to pay for these goods until they remove them from consignment stock. Otherwise, the customer can usually return consignment goods that are not required.
Consignment Fill-Up: Consignment fill-up replenishes the stock at the customer site. Since the goods remain the property of the company, this process is not relevant for pricing and consequently not for invoicing either.
Create a sales order using order type KB.
Enter the required data on the customer, the consignment goods and the delivering plant.
Enter all other relevant data and save the order.
Create a delivery as the subsequent document for this sales order and, after picking has been completed successfully, post goods issue.
The underlying goods movement type is a stock transfer. This ensures that when goods issue is posted, consignment special stock is created for the customer concerned. If special stock of this kind already exists in the delivering plant for this customer, the goods are posted to this special stock.
Order type: KB (document category C: sales order)
    Std. Delivery type: LF
Item category: KBN (not relevant for pricing and billing)
Schedule line category: E1 (relevant for deliveries, uses availability check, 631 (GI consignment: lending) to post the stock into a special consignment category in the delivering plants stock for that particular customer and material)
Copy control rules for the sales doc, item category, and schedule line category.
Use trans MB58 or MMBE to check the stock.
In this case, Accounting document is required to be generated only for taxes, as the stock is still the ownership of the company. In the pricing procedure all condition type except for Taxes should be statistical.
Consignment Issue: The Consignment issue enables the customer to withdraw consignment goods from the special stock that are to be used or sold.
Create a sales order using order type KE.
Enter the required data for the customer, the consignment goods and the plant to which the goods are to be returned.
Enter all other relevant data and save the order.
Create a delivery as the subsequent document for this sales order and, after picking has been completed successfully, post goods issue.
The goods are then reduced by the relevant quantity in the special stock assigned to the customer. This goods issue also reduces your total stock.
Invoice the delivery which issues the consignment goods.
Order type: KE (document category C: sales order)
    Std. Delivery type: LF
    Invoice: F2
Item category: KEN (relevant for pricing and deliver related billing, special stock indicator W, should determine cost too)
Schedule line category: C1 (relevant for deliveries, uses availability check, 633 (GI issue: customer consignment)
In this case, Accounting document is required to be generated only for most of the condition type, as it is being invoiced to end customer.
Consignment returns: proceed as follows: Consignment returns enable your customer to return goods to the consignment stock that has already been issued from it.
Create a sales order using sales order type CR.
Enter the required data on the customer and the consignment goods.
Enter all other relevant data and save the order.
Create a returns delivery for the sales order (the system automatically chooses delivery type LR). The goods issue posting cancels the goods issue posting which was carried out when the consignment goods were issued. This posting records the return of the goods to the plant where goods receipt was carried out.
Create a credit memo for the consignment return you created in Step 1.
Order type: KR (document category H: returns)
    Delivery type: LR
Credit for Returns Order type: RE (delivery or order related billing)
Item category: KRN (relevant for pricing and deliver related billing, special stock indicator W
Schedule line category: D0 (relevant for deliveries, no availability check, 634
In this case, Accounting document is required to be generated only for most of the condition type, as it is being returned by the customer & invoicing already done to customer..
Consignment Pick-Up: The company uses consignment pick-up to take back consignment goods that are faulty or excess materials that the customer does not need. This process is not relevant for billing since the goods remain the property of the company.
It may be beneficial to have a mandatory reference such as the consignment fill-up. In addition to it copy control rules can be used to further control it. In the copy control rules indicate the document flow. As the stock is coming back into the warehouse or plant, you can specify a returns shipping point to be automatically determined. No invoice is necessary, as the goods are not changing ownership.
Create a sales order using order type KA.
Enter the required data for the customer, the consignment goods and the plant to which the goods are to be returned.
Enter all other relevant data and save the order.
Create a returns delivery for the sales order (the system automatically chooses delivery type LR). The transaction is completed by the goods issue posting which initiates a transfer posting from the customer's special stock to your plant stock.
Order type: KA (document category C: sales order)
    Delivery type: LR
    No invoice
    Item category: KAN
Schedule line category: F1 (relevant for deliveries, availability check against the stock on the customer’s consignment, 632 (Consignment pickup)
In this case, Accounting document is required to be generated only for taxes, as the stock is still the ownership of the company. In the pricing procedure all condition type except for Taxes should be statistical, as the stock is being returned from consignment site to plant.

  • Consignment Sales - Excise reversal

    Dear Friends,
I have a scenario in consignment sales, where i raise an excise invoice during the fill-up process based on the assessable value & during the issue i give a discount on the assessable value to the customer. Based on the quantity consumed (issued) i raise an commercial invoice every fortnight. Since the excise has been calculated on the assessable value which is more than the actual value billed during issue, i have to claim back the excess excise amount paid to the government.
Request your inputs & suggestions on how to map this process in the system.
    Regards,
    Padamanabhan

    Dear Padmanabhan
The process should be as follows:-
While despatching materials to warehouse, you charge only excise duty and no sales tax.  In the next stage, while despatching from warehouse to end customer, you charge both sales tax and excise duty.  If you are clear in this concept, you can configure accordingly.
You have to account the excise duty in such a way that for whatever amount you paid while moving to warehouse, it should tally with what you charge on customer and in fact, this should not be less than what you paid originally.
Let us take an example, if you pay excise duty of INR 1000.00 while moving to warehouse against one proforma, you would be selling part quantities to end customer with various invoices in which the respective excise duty and sales tax would be debited.  You need to show the total excise duty which should tally with what you pay initially to Central Excise authorities.

  • Credit management for consignment sale

    Hi,
It is well accepted that in Standard SAP , for consignment sale process credit check is done in Consignment issue level as in this phase material stock is logically got diminished from valuated stock. But business dynamics need some solution with nature of business needs and from that point we need that how the same can be managed with consignment fill up. Consignment fill up is the stage where material is moved from plant gate to reach consignment agent's premises which is geographically may be located far away and this is the phase where user can want the credit check before dispatching more quantity with that of payment have received or with a threshold value of credit limit though the stock is under ownership of plant and that same will be transferred to customer after consignment issue.
now we have configured system in that way, KBN and KEN item category has been configured  perfectly as needed(like credit indicator checked for KBN and unchecked for KEN item category).
But the problem is faced like following way.
Suppose I am doing a transaction of delivery against a consignment fill up order with value of 2 Lakh with that much credit limit and after making the delivery it got updated in FD32 open sales value (2 Lakh) which is correct in this context.
Secondly at the time of consignment issue delivery further open sales value is not updated with 2 Lakh which is also correct(as credit check is inactive as it should not be update the open sales value as 4 Lakh)
Lastly when we are preparing the consignment commercial invoice with reference of consignment issue delivery then after posting 2 lakh got updated in receivables in FD32 which is also correct but at the same time open value should be diminished to zero which is not updating and this is wrong as then credit exposure is calculated wrongly for next transaction. so huge value will be accumulated in open sales value for consigmeet agent and the same cannot be rectified by standard program RVKRED77 like normal customers.
So please explore what may be the solution for the same(may be any configuration setting) or if there any another correction program exists.
    Regards
    Indranil

    Dear Mr. Lakhshmipati,
    Thanks for your reply.
I need the input to be given that we are running the credit check with update group 000015 . So in this case S066- OEIKW will not update anytime.
As per note 492831 is declaring that for consignment fill up if the credit indicator is active but the table S066 - OEIKW will not update for open sales value in case of consignment fill up
But we have tested that after creation of the delivery against consignment fill up open sales value updated in FD32 (as item category KBN has set as credit active) and the same figure is coming from the table S067 - OLIKW.
But it is not duplicated with creation of the delivery from consignment issue(as for item catefory KEN this check is inactive) and after creation of the commercial invoice receivable got updated but same value should be cleared from S067 - OLIKW.
    You can understand the situation.
Now there can be three aspects of it. Please check my points below and suggest if I am wrong.
    1. For update group 000015, this table S067 is updated for delivery of fill up in standard SAP but never adjusted in after that and also there is no standard program for correction. So in this case either we have to forcefully update the table (by exit or by program) though it should not be the practice as there may be some inconsistency or we should discard this process.
    2. We have to deactivate the credit check at consignment fill up level and to carry with credit check at consignment issue level as in that case under update group 000015 , after creation of commercial invoice posting receivables got updated with modification of open sales value by diminishing that much value.
    3. We have to withdraw the credit check for case of consignment agent.
please suggest if any other aspect keeping in mind that we have to try our best to reach the requirement of credit check at consignment fill up stage as material should be blocked for delivery before vehicle starts from factory gate.
with last effort if there is really no way , so we have to go with standard SAP.

  • Tax Conditions for Sales and Distribution using Jurisdiction Code in Canada

    Hello everyone,
I would like to share with you a doubt relating taxes for Sales and Distribution in Canada.
The Tax conditions for Sales and Distribution in Canada are the CTX1 (GST - Canada), CTX2 (PST - Canada) and CTX3 (Base + GST). These are the Tax Conditions which appear when creating a Material or a Client for the Canada Region, and are also the ones included in the Canada Standandard Pricing Procedure.
I tried to apply the standard method of creating a Master Record for these conditions, but an error relating the Jurisdiction Code came out while releasing to accounting.
Does anyone one how to procceed? Which are the important issues with Finance Accounting to take in to account?
I would really appreciate any comment relating this issue.
Thank you very much in advanced.
    Víctor

    Dear Mr. Lakshmipathi,
In first place, thank you very much for your quick response.
I have tried many different procedures to get the aim, and among others, a new access sequence was created to allow the introduction of the Jurisdiction Code (UTXJ is not available for Sales Conditions) but once the Condition is created, it is not recognized when creating the Order ("pricing error: Mandatory condition CTX is missing"). Maybe it has something to do with the fact that these conditions are not included in the Finance Accounting Tax Procedure, where the conditions, which represent the same taxes but with different condition names, are defined for a certain Tax Code and Jurisdiction code.
Among the different SAP notes for the error relating the Jurisdiction code, there was one proposing to change the Condition Category from "D" (Taxes) to a value between "1 and 4". By doing this a new error appears while creating the order, saying that there are conditions in the Tax procedure (JRC1, JRC2)which are not included in the Sales Pricing procedure. By including this conditions in the Pricing procedure, the Tax Conditions existing in the Finance Accounting Tax Procedure are brought to the Order Conditions, in addition to the Sales Tax Conditions. And there is something more, each Tax Condition from the Finance Accounting Procedure appears twice, one with the application V (Sales) with value zero, and one with application TX (Taxes) with the value existing in the Finance Accounting Taxes Procedure. This is how at the end, the corresponding %value of the taxes is brought to the Invoice with the correct Tax Code, and the proper Jurisdiction Code, which is different for each condition.
Thank you very much for your time.

  • Tax Code Determination - default tax code for sales

Under the tax code determination window i have set the default tax code for sales as VAT@4% and I have save it.  but when I open the sales quotation , order or any other sales document the tax code is not appeared.  what could be the reason?
    thanks
    SV Reddy

Is ur "Determination Type" is 'Material Type'?
    FYI from Help file,
When you enter item information in the marketing documents, system will check the item master data. If the item classification for the tax is:
    Material Item
The tax code determination for material will start.
    Service Item
The tax code determination for service will start.
When you enter service information in the marketing documents, the tax code determination for service documents will start

  • REPLENISMENT IN CASE OF CONSIGNMENT SALES

    Dear Gurus,
I am facing a requirement where in I need to perform consignment sales. the issue lies when I need to transfer the left over stock directly from one customer to another. say for eg. company x has two customers A & B.
The first consignment fillup for Material M = 100 units is done to Customer A. Now Cust. A consumes 70 units.
The balance 30 units instead of pickup are being directly send to another customer in this case Cust B.
along with addition of other 50 units. (so the total stock send to customer B will be 30 + 50 = 80 units)
Kindly help me resolve this scenario.
    Thanks and Regards
    Vivek

    Hi Ravi,
Thank you for your valuable suggestion. But here we are selling gas and the cyclinders come to our plant for refilling. It is only when customer B is going to deliver to its customers we shall be getting the Quantity as Sales Volume. You have mentioned about directly transfering stock from customer A to B. how is that possible? i mean which movement type and or document types can we use in the standarad system.
    Thnx once again

  • Tax calculation on sales order and invoice is different

    2007A, SP0, PL49
The tax on a sales order does not match the tax on the linked delivery and invoice by 1 cent. We take payment based on the sales order amount as the delivery and invoice are done after the fact. Why is the tax calculated differently on the delivery/invoice? We would want it to always match.
Item price = $111.04. Taxcode rate 13% has combination of 5% GST + 8% ONTAX.
On Sales Order, ONTAX = $8.88
    On Delivery/Invoice, ONTAX = $8.89
Can someone please explain the difference? Is rounding/tax calcualtion controlled by system settings per document?

Something must be wrong with your Sales Order tax.  The actual tax would be 8.8832.  Round up to 8.89 is correct.  Do you have any SP, FMS or add-on been used?
    Thanks,

  • Changing Tax Code in Sales Order

    Hi All,
I've a requirement to change the tax code of MWST CT from normal value XX to a new tax code in sales order for few excpetion cases.
For normal cases the tax code will always be XX for MWST CT in the sales order. However for very specific business need the tax code for the existing sales order needs to be changed to a new value. The need for changing the tax code always arise after creating the sales order.
Kindly suggest the possible ways to meet this requirement.
    Regards,
    Ashish

Changing the tax code in the sales order is not std sp procedure and I don;t think sp allow tampering with it either.
The taxes are based on the combination for customer and material and I suggest that you maintain all tax codes at the material and customer level for all combinations possible and each customer is alloted one unique one.
What are the possible reason why tax changes. It can only be the delivery address is changed. If the material iself changes then you may have to modify the sales order itself but if there is a change in the ship to party then....
Now if the shipto party changes then you can always redetermine taxes in billing where the actual taxes will be redetermined based on the new conditions.
If you see the tax line item in the sales order you will see that it is greyed out.
You can change the excise duty but not taxes.
This is the default where the condition type is prohibited from changing manually. But if you change the setting to Free or manual then you can change the value of tax bu the tax code will be as determined by the combination of material and shipto.

  • Change Tax Classification in Sales Order

    Hi all,
I have a question about tax classification in sales order.
I know that taxable or non taxable is determined by a variety of key (by material, order type, departing country & destination country, etc).
I use Domestic Taxes as a key to determine taxable or nontaxable. To do that, I need to set up tax classification in customer master and material master, right?
Based on that combination, I can determine if it becomes taxable or nontaxable and if so by how many percentage.
    OK.
    Here is my scenario:
The customer and material I use to create sales order is set as taxable. So, when I create an sales order, the tax and its % is automatically presented in conditions.
But how do I do if I want to make only this sales  order be nontaxable?
I changed Tax classification from '1' taxable to '0' nontaxable in Billing Document Tab at Item level, but tax is still there in Condition Tab.
I thought taxable or nontaxable can be changed by this way. Am I missing some procedure?
    Regards,
    Screen Field:VBAP-TAXM1

    Hi,
When you set the tax condition to your country and set the tax rate in VK11 based on the customer tax classification and material tax classification, it should pickup in the document.
How can it posssible to have tax for one document and no tax for the other. Tax is uniform, and it will be applicabe to all customers (certain exceptions also there). In any case the customer is not taxable ot material is not taxable, maintain the customer / material tax classification as '0' and don't maintain any condition rate for that.

  • Consignment Sales - Problem : Dual Ex. Duty Paid, but recovered only once

    Dear Experts,
We are working on Consignment Sales configuration.
we have done all configuration as per standard practice and observing correct postings.
Post Goods Issue, we normally have two seperate postings :
                          Set 1 :

                                Sales A/c Cr
We are using same pricing procedure as that of regular Sales.
But in trials, we are observing that the Excise Duty Paid  / Payable is getting posted twice, but is recovered only once.
how do we investigate & correct the error of this dual posting of Ex Duty Paid / Payable. If new pricing procedure is to adopted, what should the change in it?

    Hi,
As per stand.SAP consingment is divided in to four types i.e CF, CI, CR, & CP.
When you are snding goods to your consingment stock which is in costumer premices, you have to pay Excise duty while moving the goods from yuor manufacturing plant.
so at that time only you have to pay Excise duty. i.e at the time of consingment fill up only.
At the time of consingment issue , your actual sales happend means your actual stock will decrease & sales happend.
See first you have to check from your business that your consingment fill up  price & consingment issue price is same or differnt.
for example if you are removing goods from your manufacturing plant at price Rs.100/- that time you have to pay Excise duty Rs. 14/- only.
At the time of Consingment issue if you are saling the same goods may be at the price of Rs. 150 then you have to pay excise only for Rs.50 only . In most of the cases both CF & CI prices are same so you have to create two pricing procedure in which at the time of CF only excise will get calculated & postings will be happend. At the time of CI no excise will get posted only it will show or get printed on invoice , no postings will be hapend. You can do this by making changes at condition type level.
Please feel free to contact me if still you have any doubt.
    Thanks
    Devdatta.
