TC takes longer to re-boot; reports a problem; then fixes itself?

I had a lot of problems yesterday with my TC. I lost my internet connection and spent 4 hours working on resetting it and the cable modem so they would communicate.
During that process, and still today, I am finding a slow internet connection. But, the problem I'm writing about here is that when I re-boot the TC it is taking a lot longer than it ever used to in the past. And, once it does boot, the utility pops up that the TC is reporting a problem. When I click continue, it then tells me that the TC is operating as normal.
I did buy this in March 2008 and I see others are having a lot of power problems. Maybe I'm headed down the same path but for now I do have power and an internet connection, albeit a slow one.

When I was originally going through this problem I did do a Factory Default Reset as well as a default reset. My connection works but seems to slow at times. What I did this morning was simply a "restart" using the desktop software and it seems to take a very long time, reports a problem, then fixes itself.
I have left the cable modem unplugged as described.
I gave up on trying to restore my static IP address that worked for about a year as everything had a "meltdown" and I don't have time to play around with it more. Maybe a holiday project. But it's odd that it's acting this way now after the Factory Default Reset. I may try that again just to see if it helps this time around.

    Okay, so after doing all of the above, the computer still takes between 40 seconds and 1 minute or so to boot up, and the VersionCue messages still appear. However I discovered that the "kdcmond cannot retrieve..." messages disappeared after I disabled my ethernet connections. So at least I know that that had nothing to do with the extended boot-up time.
    I have heard that the more RAM you have, the longer it takes to boot due to the RAM count. Since I have 10 GB, maybe this is why?

  • Suddenly takes long time to boot up, then odd behaviors...suggestions?

    My computer is about six weeks old and has been fantastic up to this point. Beginning two days ago, however, it started acting odd, not recognizing external drives, etc. A reboot has always fixed such problems before (with other Macs). When I rebooted, I noticed it took 4 to 5 minutes for the desktop to come up. I've noticed other weird problems, like the mouse buttons (both external mouse and pad) don't work. Every reboot takes several minutes and the problems only seem more pronounced.
    Any suggestions before I make an appointment with a Mac Genius?

    Boot in Safe Mode (which runs some basic housecleaning) - reboot and hold the Shift key at startup.
    Run Utilities > Disk Utility, select your HDD and click Verify Disk (not permissions).   • My new WD hard drive is no longer able to boot. How do I fix this?

    I got a WD10EALX Cabiar Blue drive last week and copied my existing internal drive that had Tiger OSX on it. It booted fine until I copied an iphoto library from a friend's Mac and now this disk won't boot. I get the circle with the slash through it and the folder with the question mark on it. I ran it through disk utility and it was verified with no problems. What should I do from here?

    Well, assuming you mean you repaired permissions in Disk Utility, and that you ONLY copied some data/media files, and didn't go beyond 85% full, I'd say go back to square one on this experiment.
    A better approach is to leave or have an "OS only" boot drive, with apps of course, and keep data and media files on another disk drive - the beauty of having four internal hard drives.
    By the sounds of it you are using an external drive too. That alone can sometimes be a problem.
    As for "verify with Disk Utility" back in Tiger, I give it iffy grade and marks. Repair AND use Disk Warrior.

    How long after you report a problem does it take for the fix to be picked up in maps? The street I live on is misspelled. It's shown as one word, but it should be two words. Maps cannot find the address when it is spelled correctly, so I have it purposely misspelled it as one word in my contacts, which helps for the most part, however it still tries to place my home on an entirely different street all together. Fortunately this new random street is at least close to where I live. When I used to spell my street correctly with two words, maps would try to send me to the next town over. So it kind of works, as long as I misspell my street, and ignore the fact that it is showing where I live to be a couple of streets down from where I actually live. I live in Connecticut - not in the most populated of areas, but not in the middle of nowhere either. Amazingly enough Google Maps will correctly find my address whether it's spelled with one words or two words. Google Maps also shows my apartment complex, which Apple Maps does not. I really wish Apple would just do a quick pass of the area to fix these issues. I’ve reported the problem several times, months ago. How long will it take for there to be a fix? I keep trying to use the Apple ecosystem, but Google is clearly the better solution for me.

    Apple does not do the GIS data for maps. That comes from 3rd party vendors like Tom Tom. I have read it takes some time to update map data. The only thing you can do is report it.
    Not to belittle your complaint, but on my end it is Apple that is clearly better. When looking at my house in Google, the satellite photo is more than 4 years old, and the Apple one is much newer. I can tell because of the condition of my home and the neighbor's. They had an above ground pool which was removed 4 years ago and it shows on the Google Map. I had remodeling and roof work done to my home that started 3 years ago and Apple's satellite view showed this work done, which took over a year to complete. I live in the middle of a block in a rural town. Both Apple and Google split the block into 100 parts and put my home close to the beginning of the block instead of where it actually sits. I've reported it to both Google and Apple and no one has changed. Just one of those things. But, keep your chin up, it will get corrected eventually.

    I m facing one problem with my Web based erp application which is developed in .net , in my application when i open the  report from my applicaiton , in my temp folder there one file gets created name is "rpt conmgr cache"
    bcoz of this for few records also my report takes too much time and opens very slow and it takes long time, and it happens in some of the reports only , other reports are working cool and its not creating any file in temp folder,,, so can u guide me whats this file and what can be the solution for it,

    oracle reports are run thru JSP's
    some reports take long time to execute though query in it if executed on sql plus are fast.
    it is fond that that formatting is going on for those reports
    what might be the reason for this??
    is the data fetched first and then formatting takes place as per data??

    Do you have the statistics collected up to date?
    Please make sure you have applied the latest patch as per these docs.

  • Shut down and booting-up takes longer than usual on iMac 27".

    Hi there,
    I have a problem with my 27" iMac (model listed somewhere), it appears to take an extraordinarily long time to boot up and shut down compared to a few weeks (or even days) ago.
    At the moment, at shut-down, it hangs on the blue screen with a spinning wheel for quite a long time, which never used to happen.
    At boot-up, it takes quite a bit more time to boot-up.
    For comparison, it took about 10-20 seconds to boot-up previously, but now it is taking about 50-60 seconds.
    All of this has happened randomly, and I have no idea what the cause is.
    I bought my iMac on Black Friday 2010 from the online store.

    Non-shutting down might indicate that the Mac is waiting for something to finish before it can complete the process, and whatever that is isn't doing so. Launch Console in Utilities and check the system logs to see what the last thing running was and perhaps that might give you a clue.

    In Reporting Service, the total time to generate a report include TimeDataRetreval, TimeProcessing and TimeRendering. To analyze which section take much time, we can check the table Executionlog3 in the ReportServer database. For more information, please

    In your scenario, since you mention the query spends less time, the delay might happens during report processing and report rendering section. So you should check Executionlog3 to check which section costs most of time, then you can refer to this article

    first of all never use move corressponding.
    Rather you should declare a work area for table hier.
    select values into the work area and then append that workarea into the table hier.
    In case of for all entries include all the primary keys in the selection and for the keys which are of no use declare constants with initial valules like:
    'prmkey' is a primary field for table 'tab1' .
    Constants: field1 type tab1-prmkey value initial.
    and then in your where condition write.
    prmkey GE field1.

  • Payables Account Analysis report takes long time to produce xml output

    I am trying to get xml data for the Payables Account Analysis report. I have changed the output format of the concurrent program to XML.
    The report takes long time to produce the xml data irrespective of the number of rows fetched. But the same report with Text output runs very fast.
    Any reason why the xml output takes long time?

    But Will the report data not affected when we delete Q_FLEXDATA Group? and Why this flexdata group affects the running time?

  • Report takes  long time to refresh

    Hi Experts ,
    I have an issue ,when I have only used one workshet  to upload as the original workbook has about 25 worksheet tabs and is too large to upload.The report takes 20 minutes to refresh I was rebuilding the report when I noticed that when I added the formulas to the bottom to the original report the report started to take longer to run.When the bottom section of the report is not included the report refreshed in about  2 minutes.
    In the file that completes faster,there are no formulas after line 353
    In the file that takes long time o refresh,the start on line 357.When the bottom section of the report is not included the report refreshed in about 2 minutes.Any sugession.Thanku.

    If you discover significant high frontend time, check whether the formatting is the reason. If so, either switch it off or reduce the result lines.
    As formatting information is not transferred, the time consumed in the frontend can be reduced.
    But the workbook you are executing may obviously take much time.
