TCP connection closed but a child process of SQL Server may be holding a duplicate of the connection's socket in SQL2008R2

Hello,
I do get the below SQL error in production environment intermittently:
TCP connection closed but a child process of SQL Server may be holding a duplicate of the connection's socket.  Consider enabling the TcpAbortiveClose SQL Server registry setting and restarting SQL Server. If the problem persists, contact Technical
Support.
According to the post I search in MSDN, the above error is fixed in SQL2008R-CU6, but I have SQL2008R2-SP02 CU09 patch in production environment and the above error still occurred intermittently. I am running SQL2008R2 SP02 CU09 patch with Windows 2008R2-SP01.
I would like to know if anyone has  the same error happened to their SQL environment after applied SQL2008R2-SP02 CU06 patch and later.
Any suggestion would be helpful.
Best regards,
PL.

Hello,
What happen if you apply the changes on the registry explained on the workaround section of the following article?

  • Local SQL Server 2012 (express) ColdFusion 10 Datasource will not connect?

    Hello
There are several methods to do this out there, not one has worked for me. First, configuring SQL Server by
    enabling TCIP connections
    Setting IP1 & IP2 Address to 127.0.0.1
setting all TCP Ports to 1433 (IP1 through IP7)
Leave all TCP Dynamic Ports blank
    enable Named Pipes
    restart SQL Server
    Then in Studio:
Security tab under the DB you want to connect to
    create a new user
give user a user name and login name
    default Schema- dbo
    Then in CF Admin:
    Server: 127.0.0.1
    Port: 1433
User Name: login name from above
Connection verification failed for data source: appraiseriLOCAL
    java.sql.SQLInvalidAuthorizationSpecException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Login failed for user 'Nu-PC\Nu'.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLInvalidAuthorizationSpecException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Login failed for user 'Nu-PC\Nu'.
Any help with this will prevent more hair-pulling.
    Thanks

I can connect successfully to a remote network Oracle database in CR4E. I would like to know
that is there any one who connect SQL Server Express 2008 local database successfully in CR4E?

    Don,
Thanks for your suggestions. I will follow your instruction to connect to SQL Server Express 2008 database latelly. I can connect successfully with different Oracle databases (10g) in CR4E. I will try to connect MySQL database and Postgres database in CR4E  to see if they can be  successful or not. I am responsible for reports generation. I hope that CR4E can be connected successfully to SQL Server Express 2008 database server, otherwise I have to use JFreeReport/JFreeChart tools to do reports generation .

    Hello mb_ogg,
Yes, I had created a Data Source  HR Driver= SQL Server (second Tab System DSN) and I also had tried with
the driver SQL Server Native Client 10.0 but I faced the same error.
The database by default is EMP
    Below is my configuration
Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver Version 03.85.1117
    Data Source Name: HR
    Data Source Description:
    Server: JUAN-XP
    Database: EMP
    Language: (Default)

Then I went to Database Properties (Right Click) /Oprtion  and Recovery model field has Full value
I also made a Backup (Backup Type = Full)
The Backups was made to Disk:  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Backup\EMP.bak
Today I repeated the same steps and I got the same error (I Copied at the end):
I also have the follow question:

  • Flat file connection: The file name "\server\share\path\file.txt" specified in the connection was not valid

I'm trying to execute a SSIS package via SQL agent with a flat file source - however it fails with Code: 0xC001401E The file name "\server\share\path\file.txt" specified in the connection was not valid.
It appears that the problem is with the rights of the user that's running the package (it's a proxy account). If I use a higher-privelege account (domain admin) to run the package it completes successfully. But this is not a long-term solution, and I can't
see a reason why the user doesn't have rights to the file. The effective permissions of the file and parent folder both give the user full control. The user has full control over the share as well. The user can access the file (copy, etc) outside the SSIS
    package.
Running the package manually via DTExec gives me the same error - I've tried 32 and 64bit versions with the same result. But running as a domain admin works correctly every time.
I feel like I've been beating my head against a brick wall on this one... Is there some sort of magic permissions, file or otherwise, that are required to use a flat file target in an SSIS package?

    Hi Rossco150,
I have tried to reproduce the issue in my test environment (Windows Server 2012 R2 + SQL Server 2008 R2), however, everything goes well with the permission settings as you mentioned. In my test, the permissions of the folders are set as follows:
    \\ServerName\Temp  --- Read
    \\ServerName\Temp\Source  --- No access
    \\ServerName\Temp\Source\Flat Files --- Full control
I suspect that your permission settings on the folders are not absolutely as you said above. Could you double check the permission settings on each level of the folder hierarchy? In addition, check the “Execute as user” information from job history to make
sure the job was running in the proxy security context indeed. Which version of SSIS are you using? If possible, I suggest that you install the latest Service Pack for you SQL Server or even install the latest CU patch.

  • DB Connect from BW on Oracle to MS SQL Server 2005

    Hello,
I am having issues replicating Meta-Data from SQL server databases via DBCONNECT to SAP BW.
For instance we have the CCM DB and the Siebel DB.  We can transfer meta-data from CCM with no problem (SQL Server 2000) but we cannot transfer meta-data from Siebel (SQL Server2005).
Our SAP BW is system is on an Oracle database.
CCM is on OS Win 2003. SQL 2000 SP4.
Siebel is on Win 2003 Server Enterprise 5.2 and SQL Server 2005 SP2.
I already have the dbsl for SQL server installed in the BW system. When I do a Connection Check of the source systems in RSA1, it says "Source system connection OK".
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ajay

    Hi,
I don't think the 32 vs. 64 bit is the issue. Have you tried checking OSS note: 512739. It describes the prerequisites for accessing MS SQLServer via DB Connect. Normally problems occurs due to unsupported data types being used in SQLServer - in such cases you have to create views in the source system and then use these views instead of the actual database tables. In the view you can perform the necessary data type conversion.

Thank you for this reply.  I went to the link and selected the option for DB2s and ran the install.  Then I started up SSMS.  I copied the same script as above, and it executed successfully.  But when I try to run a query against
a table in a database on this linked sever -- I get this error message:
OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "CWMPDTA" returned message "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed".

Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "CWMPDTA".
Do I need to change the line containing -- @provider=N'MSDASQL',  maybe?
this is the query I'm running:
    select TOP 10 * from CWMPDTA.T9S.CWMPDTA.INSKU
The same exact query runs fine on the sql server 2005 linked server.  Is there something I need to configure?

Integration Services service is not a cluster-aware service, and does not support failover from one cluster node to another. Therefore, in a clustered environment, Integration Services should be installed and started as a stand-alone service on each node
    in the cluster.
Based on the error message, it seems that SSIS is not installed on the cluster node on which the job was running. Although SSIS is installed on a machine that is not part of the cluster and can be accessed by each cluster node, the SSIS service installed
on a remote server cannot be used a cluster node. So, please install the shared feature SQL Server Integration Services on each cluster node. Besides, if certain packages need to run in 32-bit mode in certain jobs and the SQL Server installed is 64-bit version,
you also need to install BIDS/SSDT on the cluster node to get the 32-bit runtime of SSIS.

  • Connecting BO universes with SAP on a SQL server database

    Hello,
The aim is to make a secured connection between a BusinessObjects universe and an SAP system that runs on a SQL server database.
We will have in the nearby future 1 SAP system for several customers (SAP in the clouds). For those customers we want to maintain their BusinessObjects connection with the SAP system as it is for the moment. This means that the customers who are working with their current BO system (5.1.6) connect for the moment between BusinessObjects and their local SAP system  via the universe connection (Oracle driver and user). These customers should connect in the nearby future to a central SAP system and only be able to see the data of their own company (based on a client number). Iu2019m wondering if we could use the SAP-authorisation mechanism in order to do so. This would mean that we define an SAP user in SAP and that we define the same user in BusinessObjects and that there is a layer in between (cfr. The sap java connector) that allows a secure connection for a client to only its specific data (based on client number f.i.)
Can you tell me if there exists already a solution for this for BO 5.1.6 or what is the pre-requisite in order to do so. I know that the Best Practices of SAP-Bo use already this kind of mechanism but then we talk about BO XI 3.0 and ECC 6.0 linked via a Java Connector. Does there already exists something like that for the connection between an SAP system (on a SQL server database) and a BusinessObjects 5.1.6 system.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Thierry Renaer

    Hello,
Thank you for your reply. And what about BO XI 3.0? What should we be using?
Ik have been using the SAP Java Connector but I'm wondering if there exists more user friendly (read easily adaptable) tools in order to provide a secure connection between SAP BO XI 3.0 and SAP ECC.
    Many regards

  • I am unintentionally come to delete the bluetooth connection to my heart rate monitor in my iPhone 4s. How can I restore the connection?

I am unintentionally come to delete the bluetooth connection to my heart rate monitor in my iPhone 4s. How can I restore the connection?

Thanks, but unfortunately for me the Polar H7 does not have any buttons or anything that can actively affect the pairing, it is manifest just a transmitter. Pairing can apparently only be done by finding the Polar H7 in the unit that you want to pair with (my 4s) and after my delete of the device, my iPhone 4s does not retrieve it as a Bluetooth device.

  • Connecting BI 7.0 SR2 with MS SQL Server 2005

    Dear SAP Gurus,
We have a scenario to connect an External Database MS SQL Server 2005 with BI 70 SR2 Server.
The platform details are as follows :-
    BI 7.0 SR2
    Oracle 10.0.2.8 Database
    AIX 5.3
When we were on an older platform BW 3.5 we had installed an Windows Application Server for connecting to SQL Server.
I was told that in the latest system BI 7.0 it is possible to connect to SQL Server via AIX.
Now when i raised a message to SAP , they tell me that it is necesary to have an Windows Application Server.
If any one has connected an BI 7.0 on AIX to MS SQL Server 2005 , Please let me know.
