TCP/IP based PDA connection
Hi,
I have the following scenario:
SAP-->XI--
PDA ( via a telecom service provider )
and
PDA -
XI----
SAP
The orders are created in the PDA, and can only be accessed via a Telecom service provider. XI has to establish a TCp/IP connection to pull and push data to the service provider.
Can anyone let me know a mechanism to achieve the same.
Would it be possible for the serivice provider to call XI via some mechanism to push data into XI.
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards
Abhishek
Is TCP/IP connection a must in your case. Your mobile could send data directly to XI if it could act as an http client. This will give you some idea.

I tried stopping and starting msg service using stop-msg and start-msg to sort out this above problem but no result. :(
When I do check the tcp_local queue it has been growing every day as well the tcp_notification queue also.

SpamAssassin / Amavisd tuning - TCP active open: Failed connect() errors
I started this post as we were experiencing a problem with occassional delayed mail delivery to our mail store. As I continued writing it, I think that I've resolved it. But I wanted to post this anyway so if I'm doing things right it might help someone else; or, if I'm doing something wrong someone can correct me. :) For reference, we have a quad Sun v440, and process about 500,000 messages a day.
We were seeing messages like this in our log files:
09-Nov-2006 08:28:09.37 tcp_scan Q 1 [email protected] rfc822;[email protected] @tcp_scan-daemon:[email protected] TCP active open: Failed connect() Error: Connection timed out
example.com represents our local domain. The errors seemed to occur proportionally to the amount of incoming mail we received. That is, we saw more of them under load.
We are running SpamAssassin, Amavisd/clamav, and:
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-5.01 (built Nov 22 2005)
libimta.so 6.2-5.01 (built 11:57:57, Nov 22 2005)
SunOS hostname 5.9 Generic_118558-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V440
This line seems to say that the message is in the tcp_scan channel, and cannot send to 127.0.0.1:10024 (amavisd) because that port isn't listening.
My amavisd max_servers was set at 15. After reading http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/amavisd-new-magdeburg-20050519.pdf and making a wild guess, I increased it to 30. The errors were less frequent, but still occurred.
The output of 'sar -d' showed that my local disk was experiencing upwards of 80% utilization. I moved the amavisd temp directory and the spamassassin bayes db to a san volume, and that sped everything up dramatically. The connect errors went away, clamav avg time per message is at 4 seconds down from 10. I am now receiving errors from spamassassin that say:
Nov 9 10:27:27 hostname.example.com spamd[21601]: prefork: server reached --max-children setting, consider raising it
My --max-children is set to 25 right now, and the server is cpu bound under heavy load, so I see no reason to raise it.
So this is my setup. I am no longer having an immediate problem, but comments/questions are welcome.
Config files related to my setup are below.

TCP active open: Failed connect()
hi all,
i receive error from my email like
"TCP active open: Failed connect()x.x.x.x :25(No formatted text for errno = 111)"Hi Mustapah,
if the error is in the email, then the hostname and/or IP address of the reporting server/appliance should be in there.
I suggest you try to look up the message in message tracking of your IronPort's GUI, this will tell you if the message was received by your appliance(s), and also if it was bounced on the appliance or on a different server.
Hope that helps,
Andreas -
TCP active open: Failed connect() Error: Connection timed out
Hi,
There is one message which can't be delieved to the recepient with error " TCP active open: Failed connect() Error: Connection timed out" This is the error that we found in the mail.log_current file.
I have no problem sending email to the same address from my hotmail account.
any suggestion ?
Thanks,
JoeThe message can only mean one thing. Your server cannot connect to that host.
It's possible that the remote system is lying to your Messaging Server, and that's gotten it confused. Some firewalls do this by repeating the entire capability string from the server behind them, but can't actually handle all the capabilities.
PIX firewalls do this.
When you connect, they pretend to be able to "startls", but if you try, they hang up. They appear to handle "EHLO", but when you try, they hang up.
You can put debugging on the tcp_local channel, and see the actual conversation, if you like.
master_debug and slave_debug go into the imta.cnf definition line. MM_DEBUG=5 goes at the end of your option.dat file.
then
imsimta cnbuild
imsimta restart
will attempt to send the message. You will want to back the changes out, as you'll get lots of extra log files you really don't need.
Post the log file, and we can see what's happening. -

Correctly choose Quicktime stream based on connection speed
Hello. I'm trying to make one web page/link that can deliver Quicktime content at multiple bit rates based on connection speed.
However, when I use reference movies to do this (either through MakeRefMovieX or XMLtoRefMovie), it doesn't choose correctly. When the Quicktime preference "Streaming Speed" is set to "Automatic" (which is the default, and covers 99% of my users), it always seems to choose the lowest available stream. I have to manually change my Quicktime preference to "768 kbps DSL/Cable", for example, in order for it to select the 768 kbps stream over the 256 one. It doesn't seem to matter what order or priority I assign the streams in my ref movie -- like I said, the "Automatic" setting always gums it up.
There has to be a solution to this, right? Something newer than "ref movies" perhaps? Any enlightenment would be appreciated! Thanks! The best way to uninstall an application is through the program's own uninstall option if there is one. If you just drop the program icon in the trash, you end up with leftovers, which is what you're asking. Program pieces can load from a number of different places, so there's no one place to go look for them. Here's a list of where they may be loading from:
http://www.macworld.com/article/2047747/take-control-of-startup-and-login-items. html
To speed things up, I'd get rid of all the leftover pieces, uninstall anything you don't actually need, and take a look at the stuff that loads as a kernel extension in particular. Those things tend to cause problems sometimes. -
Hi,
I've configured ogg between primary & DR server. I'm continuously getting the following error in my primary server for DP process & sometimes for EXTRACT process after which process goes in abended state.
WARNING OGG-01223 TCP/IP error 111 (Connection refused).
After starting the process manually, it comes in Running state. But this is frequent issue I'm facing for OGG configuration at my end.

- check mgr process is up and running on target site.
- try this and see if network connection is OK..
telnet 10.10.250.198 7809
- try to copy a file (scp) from source to target (take a dummy file; size bigger than tcpbufsize)
- check ggserr.log file on target; you might see if there are any issues with server/collector port allocation/timeout.
hope this helps...

Can not create Database-based MDS connection
Hello Dear Oracle Support,
I am trying to use MDS to share some common dvm files. First step, I want to create a database based MDS connection but failed.
My SOA schema is JDEV_SOAINFRA. When I test my Database based MDS connection, I got ORA-01031: insufficient privileges. What privileges I need to grand to MDS schema?
I am using JDEV_MDS as username to establish MDS connection.
Thank you for any suggestion and/or information,
Alena LiHello Alena!
If you want to wait the answer from Oracle Support here.. you'll need a lot of patience.
Is the corresponded Database Connection test succeed?
If it also fails that, I think, your JDEV_MDS user (schema) lack of the CONNECT privilege.
A question to you - how did you created this schema?
You should use RCU to create the schemes for SOA Suite (and other Oracle Middleware).
The RCU creates the schemes with all necessary structures (tables) and grants.
Hope this helps,

Unable to make RMI-based JMX connection with post login stored admin creden
Hello,
I've installed a stand-alone OC4J on a couple of servers with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.1 (Tikanga).
At one server I am not bale to start the OC4J properly. This server has two network adresses.
2008-09-08 14:33:12,670 [EMUI_14_32_57_/console/postLogon] WARN app.PostLogonPageHandler testStoredCredentials.490 - unable to make RMI-based JMX connection with post login stored admin credentials

What could be the reason of this error? And how can I solve the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Regards LeonI don't know for sure, but perhaps the password encryption method uses something from the server to generate a key/seed for the encryption?
Try and manually reset the credentials to see if it helps
1. Edit the j2ee/home/config/system-jazn-data.xml file.
2. Find the oc4jadmin user entry and modify the credentials tag to look like the following
<user>

<display-name>OC4J Administrator</display-name>

OC4J Administrator

<credentials>!welcome1</credentials>
</user>3. Restart the container and see if you can then login using oc4jadmin/welcome1.
No guarantees, but its worth a shot.

Help Me! How to send sms from a java program with a pda connected to system
help me ,
I am new in JavaME. I have to send sms from a java program, A PDA is connect to the system. Can some one help me to make that program which interact with PDA connected to system and send sms to any mobile or pda phones.user12873853 wrote:
I believe JavaMail API will help in sending the mails and SMS through SMTP server. Sounds more like false hope than belief to me. The only way that would work is if you have an SMS gateway that allows communication through SMTP. Doubtlessly some exist (searching for 'JavaMail sms' through google certainly seems to indicate this), but if you have to ask you don't have one.
And that exactly where you are stuck: to send SMS messages you need an SMS gateway. That will be the first thing you have to shop for, until then there is no reason to think about code, protocols or implementations. It can be as simple as hooking up a mobile phone, but then you cannot send bulk messages of course. Most likely you'll need to shop around for a partner that has an SMS blasting service you can use. -
Reduce TCP wait time after connection breaks
Hi
I am running code on NI9651, based on RT Linux. (My application would like to connect to the server for prolonged intervals, and if it somehow gets disconnected, should be able to reconnect to the system as soon as possible.)
I try to connect to the system using TCP/IP, port 6123 which is working fine, even with multiple cilents at a time. Now when the server, (here 9651) resets all of a sudden, the connection breaks, without sending a formal close command to the client. Next time I run the code, I get error 60 at my TCP listen VI, which says that the port is in use, hence I cannot reconnect to system from my client. The server waits exactly for 60 seconds, after which I am able to reconnect to it from my client.
From what I understand, if a formal close command is not sent and acknowledged, the server tries to reconnect to the old clients for 60 seconds before releasing the port again. For this reason, I added TCP_fin_timeout parameter = 10, TCP_tw_recycle = 1 and TCP_tw_reuse = 1 in the corresponding Linux file, at /etc/sysctl.conf. Even now, the server takes exactly 60 seconds to release the port.
Is there any method by which I can reduce the TCP wait time in my Linux server side?
Thanks
AryaAh yes, I guess a 0 input for the wait VI has a unique function. I should've been a bit more clear in my post, it is actually a event structure inside of a while loop.
Hmmmmm, but that might be exactly what I am looking for. So with the "Wait (ms)" VI if you wire a 0 it will yield to any other processes in queue to go to the processor, but if there none it will actually not wait at all?? Do you know how this VI works with 0 input? -
PC based iPod connected to Mac no longer works
I was told that I could connect my PC based iPod mini to a Mac without doing anything in order to listen to my music at work where we use Macs. The second I plugged the USB in the iPod went dead and the Mac restarted (now the computer seems to restart any time I plug something into that USB port but otherwise is working fine).
Obviously, I was misinformed about the compatibility of the 2 products but, is there any way to get my iPod to work again--in general? I haven't tried restoring it but I tried to do a reset and my iPod won't respond to anything. I am afraid to plug it into my computer now because of how it made the Mac shut down. I have all my music backed up so i am not worried about that but, I am afraid the HD got fried or something?? Or could it harm my computer to try and plug it in and restore it?
Please give advice!no one responded to this--thanks people...
