TDS set up in 2007B

Hello experts
I  was asked to set up a database for a client who is still continuing with 2007B .With regard to TDS ,in 2007B version there is a TDS master window as well as a  withholding tax window. In both these windows we can give the effective date.as well as the the TDS rate.in With holding tax window there are two cloumns for tds rates ,one rate we can enter along with efective date information and other directly in the window.iam little bit confused as to where shoild i start, TDS master or withholding tax window.
any body familiar with older version Can help me
Regards
Manoj

Hi Manoj....
For 2007B Version, You have not to do anything in Withholding Tax window as it gets generated automatically when you do complete setup for TDS Master, TDS Category etc....
Which inturn takes effect through Withholding Tax....

Rahul

  • TDS on Outgoing Payment

    Hi All,
I have gone through many threads but not able to find proper solution for a general scenario which will be requirement of many customer.
    Scenario:
Is very simple. I have make Payment to Vendor on Acount ( Advance Payment) on which i need to deduct TDS.
As per TDS Manual nothing is mentioned how to manage this scenario.
While defining TDS code in WT window there are 2 options ( Invoice / Payment). If the payment option is selected and Payment is made nothing happens
I am aware i have to make AP downpayment for this and then make outgoing payment which unnecessaryliy increase one step for user.
Just want to confirm is there any direct way to apply TDS while making pyament on account.
    Response will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    3.6 Payment on Account
Navigation: - Banking  Outgoing Payment TDS on advance payment can be deducted through outgoing payment based on u201CPayment on Accountu201D selection.
    Points to remember:-
Vendor (Subject to Withholding Tax) should be selected.
WTCode of u201CPu201D type should be chosen.
u201CPayment on Accountu201D check box should be checked.
These are the lines from TDS add on manual -2007B if you make above settings then while posting the on account payment when you enter the amount in amount field in the header automatically the withholding tax fields are enabled and when you chose the category the witholding tax will be calculated and posted when you add the document
Please check it,This scenario is addressed by the manual

    Hi
Pls check if Business Place and Section code are updated for the documents in consideration in Table BSEG. If not update them with T Code J1INPP. Thereafter check if the document number has been updated in Table WITH_ITEM. Also check if system has created a line item for TDS in the original document.??

  • CUT TDS On Account

    Dear support team,
Thanks for TDS set up mannual. But we are having SAP B1 2007. And we are facing a problem when we make payment through outgoing payment window and make it on account. Then we book a A/P Invoice and while reconciling the transaction we get an error message saying two different withholding tax codes are found against one transaction.
    Thanking you
    Pradnya

    Hi,
Can you check the Account codes involved in the Invoice transactions, whether you can access them. Also, check the tax accounts, freight etc?
Have you checked whether creating a Payment on Account for the Invoice and after that doing an Internal Reconciliation in the BP Module > Internal Reconciliation help you with the issue (If this is asigle document affected by the issue)?
Test the above in the COPY of the database.

  • Questions on setting up PeopleSoft FIN AP Business Unit for India with TDS

    Hi,
Does anyone here have some advice for me on how to handle AP transactions for a business unit set up for India with TDS (withholding) and statutory reporting.
We are configuring AP BU for India in our existing database which has other BUs for other countries not using withholding. For India the way we understood on statutory is that all invoices must be recognised for withholding at the time of invoice entry or payment which ever ealiest. For PeopleSoft we always have to create voucher before we can make mayment so the earliest occurace will be at voucher entry that withholding should be deducted (at voucher post).
The problem that we are encountering is that if we have prepayment invoice, we can use prepaid voucher to record this. However, when we receive the final invouce and entered into PeopleSoft the voucher post reversed the original withholding lines and recreate in the final invoice with final invoice amount. This could be in different period. As for the India rule the way we understood this is that the entries that created at prepaid should not be reversed, also those withholding might already be paid to the goverment in prior period before receiving the final invoice. The final invoice should have withholding calculate just for the difference of the invoice balance.
Our other problem is on the statutory reporting that all transactions should be recorded in that particular period. Our current setup has AP close period at the end of each month which means we cannot enter invoices raised in previous period or have adjustments put in the period that already closed.
Any help and advice on how companies that has India AP business unit deal with the above mentioned issues are much appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thanks Marc Sachdeva.
I don't mean where to set up withholding. I have alredy configured all withholding details and everything works fine in AP.
However, as India statutory comes in, I'd like to know how other companies handle cases like accounting entries for transactions in specific period if your system has AP/GL closed periods. Normal cases would be put entries in the next accounting period. But as my understanding on the Indian rules is that withholding must be recorded at the time of entering the invoice. So how should adjustment be made.
Another thing is the prepayment invoices, using PeopleSoft Prepaid voucher would cause the accounting entries for withholding lines to be reversed and then re-recorded when posting the final invoice (that matches with the prepaid). I would like to know how companies are dealing with such case as the TDS lines could be revsersed and recalculate in different accounting period. Also if the period that it revsered the TDS % could have changed and when the reverse happens it will recalculate withholding based on the new rate for the whole of invoice amt.
For example an invoice of 10000 INR, 50% is to be recorded and paid in advance so raise the invoice of 5000 INR in Feb. TDS is 10%.
    - So vendor will be paid 4500 and 500 is for withholding.
    - In April then receive final invoice of 10000 INR, record into PS as 10000 but matched to prepaid so the remaining invoice is 5000. withholding rate in Apr is now 15% so 15% should be applied to the remaining invoice of 5000 INR. As the prepaid voucher option reversed withholding lines and recalculate with final invoice total so the withholding to be deducted is calculated at 15% = 1500 (10000 * 15%).
    - As the prepaid invoice withholding might have already been paid in March before the rate changed, the final invoice should have withholding of 750.
I'm not sure if my understanding of recording withholding for India is correct and whether it really needs to be recorded in the month that invoice is raised. As the way I understood and have been told it has to be recorded in that month. I.e. invoice received on 30 April must be entered into accounting period of April. Our business close AP/GL about a week before the end of month so if we receive invoice on 30th April but our AP/GL already closed on 25th Apr then 30th Apr invoice should go to May accounting period. As statutury requirement is to record this into April. How does anyone handle this?
    Thanks.

  • Setting for E-TDS

    Hello Friends,
I need your help on my below requirements: Request you to please sugest with solution:
    1.     E TDS No. should come in e-TDS certificate
    2.     Vendor PAN no. should also appear in e-TDS
    3.     how to generate e-generation of xls file (file with details of TDS) for filing to govt TDS u2013 J1INQE
    Thanks in Advance.
    Natashaa

    Hi,
For including PAN No. for Vendor -
Include a new field in J_1IMOVEND table.
    Field Name: J_1IPANREF
    Data Element: J_1IPANREF
Regenerate the Table Maintenance for this table, as follows
    a. Go to change mode for the table J_1IMOVEND.
    b. Go to Utilities -> Table Maintenance Generator.
    c. Press Change button and select 'New field/sec. table in
    structure' option.
    d. Old screen will be deleted and new maintenance screen will be
    generated.
If PAN number is not available for any vendor, you have to enter the PAN reference number (if PAN is applied) in this new field J_1IPANREF. This can be done using transaction SM30 for the table J_1IMOVEND."
In the q efile output vendor details will be printed at item level only  Kindlyrefer the below notes are allrady applied or not

  • What deterimes the amount of data in a waveform from a TDS 1012 scope

    Hello,
What determines the amount of data that is in a waveform that comes out of a TDS 1012 scope? I am assuming that I will have to look at the driver vi to determine the commands sent to the scope to figure it out. I am in a situation that I need to have the y axis to have a high resolution, that results in very little data being collected from the scope.
    Regards,
    Kaspar
    Regards,
    Kaspar

    Hello,
The amount of data that comes out of the TDS 1012 scope is determined by the data start (DATaTARt)  and data stop (DATaTOP)  commands that are defined on page 58 (2-38) in the  346 page programming manual for the scope. I found of that the data start was not set to 1, which is the beginning of the data.
I also had a very low level signal on channel that was all most unreadable by the scope that caused me to think that I was not getting all of the data.

  • New Airport express 11n more difficult to set up than the 11g

just got new AX 802.11n but find difficulty to set up network with my PC, the old AX 802.11g had no problem.

    Hold on a minute...
Now I'm confused. I have DSL with a modem supplied by the provider (TDS). The Modem connects to my computer via ethernet cable. i was assuming if I plug the ethernet cable from my DSL modem INTO my Airport express- then I have created a wireless connection for internet for the computer as well as other computers that come into the house. Is this not so?
thanks for any clarification you can provide.

  • TDS At DownPayment Request

    HI ALL
Iam using A/P Downpayment Request instead of Downpayment Invoice for Advances. Now Iam trying to configure TDS. In that sceario I noticed that TDS cutting is not happening.
I followed the below sceario in SAP 8.8 PL 10
    1. Raised the A/P Downpayment Request
    2. Out going Payment agst DT Request
    3. A/PInvoice & selected the DT Request
In this sceario how to Capure TDS...
Note: In Item / BP Masters, withholding option is selected.
    Thanks
    Chakrapani

    Hi Rahul
While using  A/P Downpayment Invoice, we observed that Vendor Ledger is coming wrongly.
    1. AP DT Invoice: Vendor -
    Cr
                                 DT Account -
    Dr
    2. Outgoing Payment: Vendor -
    Dr
                                 Bank Account --- Cr
If I run Ledger for that Vendor, It shows 0 balance, instead of Debit Balance(Advance Amt)
Thats why we are using DT Request.
Is this is default SAP behaviuor or we have to do any setting to get debit amt in ledger report..
    Thanks
    Chakrapani
