Teamspeak3

Just yesterday Teamspeak3 had an update.
After this update, when I attempt to run the program I am receiving this error:
./ts3client_linux_amd64: error while loading shared libraries: libfmodex64.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I've read a million posts about related issues but I haven't found a fix for this yet. This is what my ts3client_runscript.sh file looks like...
#!/bin/bash
export QT_PLUGIN_PATH=.
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=".:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"
cd "$(dirname "${0}")"
if [ -e ts3client_linux_x86 ]; then
./ts3client_linux_x86 $@
else
./ts3client_linux_amd64 $@
fi
The Teamspeak3 folder is currently in my ~ directory. It's worked there forever, and I'm not entirely sure why I'm getting this error. The libfmodex64.so file is clearly there in the Teamspeak3 folder.
Any suggestions?

Well I have it launching now. However it isn't catching my mic or speakers. When I attempt to test them in Teamspeak I get this:

    It used to run perfectly fine before. libts3db_mariadb.so is present at /usr/lib/
    I am stuck and don't know what to check next. Please advise.

    It seems the same conclusion is discussed on the AUR already; did you read that?

  • Teamspeak3 in KDE - microphone problems [SOLVED]

    I am in KDE4 (latest version as of now). I chose the GStreamer backend when I installed KDE.
    I have a headset, plugged into the rear outlets on my pc.
    Sound output works fine.
    I installed Teamspeak3 (Linux version, not Wine, but same problem in Windows/Wine version).
    I can hear sounds just fine, but it does not register any sound from my microphone.
    I went into alsamixer, unmuted everything, turned it up, etc., same problem. There is a 'rear mic' and 'rear mic boost' in the output section of alsamixer. when I turn that up, I can hear the microphone just fine through the headphones, so I know the microphone works and is picking up sound - Teamspeak isn't registering it, though.
    The input section of Teamspeak settings shows either default or ALSA for sound system, and whichever I choose, it has two devices under microphone. I've tried all different combinations, no dice.
    Any ideas?

    Apparently I didn't do my due diligence.
    Teamspeak3 requires Pulseaudio. I installed it, now everything is working fine, both native and Windows/Wine versions.
    Leaving this up in case anyone else runs into the same problems.

  • Teamspeak3: MySQLSocket Error

    Hey there, so after getting a compiled libmysqlclient.so.15 (Teamspeak requires that one, I have libmysqlclient.so.18.0.0 installed and just used wget to get the oudated one and copied it to /usr/lib) i ran into another problem. When i try to fire up my TS3 Server I get the following error in the log:
    ERROR   |DatabaseQuery |   | mysql_real_connect() failed with error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13)
    Now usually I'd assume that means that mysql is not running/listening but it is as the Webserver has no problem using the mysqld as my websites work flawlessly.
    What else could be the problem ? Both the Webserver and Teamspeak-Server are on the same machine asthe mysqld and try to connect to the mysqld through localhost.

    TS3 needs MySQL 5.0.x, you can build it using the AUR PKGBUILD at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=37029 , but if you want to keep MySQL 5.5.x on your system, you've to edit the PKGBUILD to solve the conflicts.

    Following the wiki, trying to convert one of my Arch boxes to pure systemd. At step five ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sy … stallation ) where I am supposed to enable units to replace the daemons from rc.conf I hit a brick wall. • No sound on Skype, but everything else works perfe...

    I can listen to music on my computer, listen to stuff on youtube, even tried Teamspeak3 + Ventrilo and both works.
    I just simply can't hear on Skype, the mic is working perfectly because other people can hear me.
    Skype isn't making any sound, I can't even hear the normal login sound, so imagine having a conversation with someone..
    The audio options settings are working perfectly, the material are correctly chosen, and if I try the little green play button the it shows that the speakers are making sounds, but I can't hear any.

    In your case and your case only.
    1. Please stop any and all running Skype Client programs on your system.
    2. Using your Windows Control Panel Add/Remove Programs uninstall Skype, when prompted to save your history, choose yes.
    3. Using Windows File Explorer ("What you use to view files with") do:
    %appdata%\skype
    If you find a file called shared.xml right click on it and choose delete.
    4. If you see a folder for the Skype name in question, click on it, if you see a file called Config.xml right click on it and choose delete.
    5. Using the Windows file Explorer enter:
    %programfiles%
    Right click on the Skype folder and choose delete.
    6. Please install the normal version using the instructions below:
    You can install the current normal release by doing this from the top of this page:
    Get Skype -> Windows -> Choose the normal release.
    These instructions have worked for many and is the quickest thing to try to resolve issues such as this.
    Also, do you have all Windows updates and updates to any hardware devices by the manufacturers?
    About Me You can also use a IP Camera as your camera for Skype video Example Instructions

  • No sound in multiple applications at once

    This is an issue that has bothered me with arch for a while but I didn't care much about fixing until now. With more and more games coming to Linux I want to have my own music playing in the background but I can't.
    So for an example let's take two applications like flash and teamspeak3. I have sound in flash and I do have sound in teamspeak when they are not running at the same time. When I'm running ts3 and then open a website with flash it will have no sound and vice versa. I used to have this issue with Ubuntu some time ago (new versions of Ubuntu seem to not get that issue, but I don't know how they solved it). On Ubuntu I used aoss to solve this problem but it doesn't seem to work on Arch.
    And I'm sorry if there has been a solved topic with this issue already, I searched for a while and the only one I found was a one post topic with no solution.

    Welcome to the boards.
    Please read How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
    you have to supply a lot more information to get any meaningful help; such as
    details about your hardware, what you have tried, wiki pages you have read, etc.
    This is not an uncommon use case for Archers, so reading the various wiki
    entries is probably the place to start.

  • Stopping the automator app doesn't end the child process

    Fairly new to Automator and I created an app to start a process for hosting a small server for VoIP. However, when I stop the app, the child process that was created continues to run and I have to end the child process in the activity monitor using the stop command. Is there any way to fix this?
    The workflow used in the app is as follows
    cd /Applications/teamspeak3-server_mac
    ./ts3server_mac

    Perhaps you should check the Console logs to find out what's going on. One thing that I would examine is that if you run the app in the Dock, then it cannot quit the Dock hence the app fails to properly run. Just a thought.

  • Mute issues with mpv/cmus under alsa + pulse

    Hi everyone!
    I am having some weird issues with certain programs (noticed this in mpv and cmus) where they would mute themselves.
    For example, cmus is often muted when it starts up and sometimes re-mutes itself when it changes songs (I couldn't find  any kind of pattern here).
    Similarly, when I have a video on loop in mpv, it is muted from the second time onwards (mpv was muting itself on startup too, but I specified mute=no in the config file).
    This also happens when I have a video with chapters in different files  - so, for example, there'd be an opening song to a series which is located in it's own file, which plays fine, but when it switches to the series file I have to unmute again.
    I have teamspeak3 running alongside all the time, if that matters at all.
    I am not sure what logs to post, if any.
    Googling didn't really reveal an answer; I disabled the auto-mute setting in alsamixer, but that didn't help.
    I'd be grateful for any help!

    I unfortunately don't have the answer for your question, but thank you so much for the mute=no suggestion, I was at my wit's end until I tried that! I'm having the same mute issue as you (also using pulse). But mpc plays properly just fine.

  • TeamSpeak + Locale

    Greetings!
    My apologies for the length of the post. If there is a way to make the code boxes smaller and scrollable, I am game for public shaming and re-education on the proper way to post.
    I installed TeamSpeak3 from the repos and when I attempt to run it from the menu, nothing happens. If I drop to command line, I get the following:

    Naturally, seeing the first line, I checked my locale settings. This is what is in locale.gen:
    $ cat /etc/locale.gen
    en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
    #en_US ISO-8859-1
    ...and in locale.conf:
    $ cat /etc/locale.conf
    LANG=en_US.UTF-8
    LC_COLLATE="C"
    The weird thing is I see this when simply checking locale by typing locale:
    $ locale
    locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory
    locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory
    locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory

    LC_MEASUREMENT="en_GB.utf8"
    LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_GB.utf8"
    LC_ALL=
    Locale-gen throws no errors but it does not seem like it is using the en_US standard I have set. Any assistance is helpful.
    Thanks!
    Czar.

    I had the same exact issue, and I was able to get it fixed. The locales were not setup right. You have to uncomment this in your locale.gen file:
    $ cat /etc/locale.gen
    en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
    en_US ISO-8859-1
    This is what I put in /etc/locale.conf:
    $ cat /etc/locale.conf
    LANG="en_US.UTF-8" # I don't know if you need the quotes.
    LC_COLLATE="C" # I put it there to be safe. I'm quite new to programming.
    Now run locale-gen. Your results should look like this:
    $ locale-gen
    Generating locales...
    en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
    en_US ISO-8859-1
    Generation Complete.
    Hoped this helped!

  • Init.d

    What folder in Arch is the equivalent to 'etc/init.d'?
    I am using the commands as root:
    >chown -R serv /home/serv/teamspeak3servers/teamspeak3-server_linux-amd64
    >ln -s /home/serv/teamspeak3servers/teamspeak3-server_linux-amd64/ts3server_startscript.sh /etc/init.d/teamspeak3-server_linux-amd64
    The error is that '/etc/init.d' does not exist, so I am guessing that a different folder is used in Arch.

    Arch now uses systemd rather than openRC
    You will have to write a systemd unit file and enable it.
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sy … unit_files
    Does the teamspeak website have any instructions for usage under systemd?
    They may already have a teamspeak.service file you can place in /usr/lib/systemd/system/ and enable using `systemctl`
    EDIT: What tomk said...

    Here's a screenshot of a traceroute done only a few months ago
    Same origin, same destination, only 270MS less latency.
    I have been forced through this dumb route for a couple weeks now, why?
    EDIT: Should point out, it's only when connecting to this server, all other routes are fine

    light-speed/teamspeak clearly have a complex infrastructure, which probably does some form of dynamic server allocation.
    Maybe they have moved their server addresses around and you still have a fixed reference to a server that was appropriate but is not any longer, and if you reset your application it would reassign you to a different one.
    This demonstrates they have a complex infrastructure with nodes in various places: doesn't show exactly what it is or how to deal with it.
    When I do tracert ts109.light-speed.com it comes back with Tracing route to ts109.teamspeak3.com [216.127.64.68]
    ping light-speed.com  gives 23 ms
    ping teamspeak3.com  gives 304 ms
    ping ts115.light-speed.com
    Pinging ts115.teamspeak3.com [94.101.84.61] with 32 bytes of data:
    Reply from 94.101.84.61: bytes=32 time=112ms TTL=41    <<< not as helpful as 23, but better than nearly 300

  • Flashplugin and Audio Sharing

    I've done a lot of work over the past three days on trying to record the output from flash plugin and save it to a file. It works! I swear to god, it does. But only sometimes. It will literally work one instance, and then ten seconds later in another instance with the exact same environment, it won't work. Needless to say, this is incredibly frustrating.
    The command I am using, precisely, is as such (and yes, I DO have a Logitech USB headset plugged in):
    ffmpeg -f alsa -i pulse_monitor derp.mp3
    My .asoundrc is:
    pcm.pulse_monitor {
      type pulse
      device alsa_output.usb-Logitech_Logitech_USB_Headset-00-Headset.analog-stereo.monitor
    ctl.pulse_monitor {
      type pulse
      device alsa_output.usb-Logitech_Logitech_USB_Headset-00-Headset.analog-stereo.monitor
    (Yeah, I know... alsa, watching pulse, watching alsa...)
    When I start a flash plugin-based thing like a Youtube video, then use the above ffmpeg command, the command hangs just before it gets to the bit where it guesses my channel layout. When I close the process that spawned the flash plugin, it starts recording.
    When I start ffmpeg first, and it begins recording before the plugin loads, when the plugin DOES load, it either produces no sound or refuses to work at all, showing a black box.
    I have also tried this, and this is the one which has occasionally worked:
    ffmpeg -f pulse -i "alsa_output.usb-Logitech_Logitech_USB_Headset-00-Headset.analog-stereo.monitor" derp.mp3
    I know that the device names are right because they correctly record other applications, like teamspeak3. Notably, teamspeak3 and java show up in the "Playback" tab of pavucontrol, but flashplugin and chromium do not.
    I know Ubuntu users seem to have problems with flashplugin sharing audio: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.p … 18171.html
    Anybody have some insight to share with me? I don't have to get it working - I just want to know why it works sometimes and not always.

    thanks for the reply astacha..
    I'm runnig arch 64 too, but this doesn't work for me. I don't think this is a problem of missing libs.. It works if i'm root!!
    I think it's only a permissions issue.. But i don't know which file doesn't work properly.
    Thanks again..

  • Mercedes command + iPhone 4 = audio streaming?

    Hi there apple,
    I was just wondering about streaming audio over bluetooth to mercedes and I couldn't find any good solution for that. I've got Mercedes-Benz SL with NTG 2.5 and iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.3. Since iPhone bluetooth authentication on mercedes is not a big deal Im wondering is there any "normal" way to provide iPod music over bluetooth to mercedes audio using airplay or anything else.
    What I mean is that if I can stream phone conversation to audio why can't I stream music? Has anyone tried streaming iPod audio to mercedes car?
    Regards,

    Nope, but i noticed few cool things. Well first of all if I use voice notes in car connected to MB via bluetooth, it ueses Mercedes microphone and Mercedes speakers. It works the same for some applications like teamspeak3 app from appstore. It works automaticly and it's convenient!
    But I still don't understand why can't I stream music that way?

    I have an iMac 27'', early 2010 (the last version before the core i3/i5/i7 came out) and it works basically fine with everything, just as it did since I got it. Now, after Lion's install, the overral performance seems a wee bit better, even while gaming (World of Warcraft and some others), altho for me and my wife, some "laggy situations" have been causing some sluggish camera turns that didnt happen at all, before (and some situations do lag more then before, but oh well).
    But the real "issue" is that both our microphones just stopped working (my wife uses a Macbook Pro 17'' mid 2009). I did read about some issues with microphones in Lion and some of it being related to usage of external audio and microphones etc, but both machines here use the basics... Built in sound and microphones, since *ever*.
    What's buggin me the most is that the Microphone itself seems to be working "fine", since whe I go the System Preferences and try to calibrate it, the meters seem to be working just as perfectly as before, but pretty much every 3rd party application I use that has a microphone element (mainly Teamspeak3, but also Ventrilo, Skype, Raidcal...) cant seem to "find" the microphone.
    Trying to calibrate it within these programs doesnt even move the bars, as if there was no microphone. Also tried to plug in an external mic, but that didnt do any good.
    Not sure if any one has been experiencing issues like those (all the applications have been totally removed and reinstalled from scratch) but I do know some people that have similar systems and after installing Lion, didnt get any of those cases of "bad mics"...
    Well, I appreciate the help and thanks in advance to everyone.
    Att,
    Gustavo Gonzalez.

    Hi guys, I am getting crazy about my microphone not working in lion. I think it's a conflict problem or whatelse. In my case my system was a Tiger->Leopard->SnowLeopard->Lion, changing each time I was buying a new mac...so I'm afraid this could cause some mess...I don't know..
    ANYWAY: waiting for a solution "seriously made by apple", I found a naive solution:
    YOU NEED THE HEADPHONES OF YOUR iPHONE, like these:
    http://store.apple.com/it/product/MB770G/B
    and, I guess, a recent mac. In my case I have a brand new MacBook Pro.
    The connector of these headphones has 3 channels, I guess 2 are for stereo and 1 for microphone, and perhaps the jack connector of the new macs can work with it.
    Simply connect them to the headphones connector and forget about the microphone.
    In my case IT WORKED.
    Ok, it's not a solution, but it's letting me to have my skype phone-co, at least.
    Waiting for something better.
