Technology Changes from EBS R12.0.2 with EBS R12.0.2

Are there any Major Technology Changes from EBS R12.0.2 with EBS R12.0.5

I do not believe there are any major technology changes between the two. ML Doc 404152.1 documents the functional changes between the two releases

Hello Sir,
As per readme for Patch 9179588, I am trying to merge patch (9179588:R12.AD.B) with 9477107:R12.AD.B and R12.AD.B.1
(patch 7461070). When I run admrgpch without -admode option, admrgpch completes successfully.
However, when I just add -admode option in same command, getting error that "invalid option -s". Please see below details and suggest since there is Note: This merge should be a full merge using -admode.

Actually, I tried that one as well by running admrgpch from newly installed R12 code tree and I got below error.

Autoconfig fail EBS R12 Apps-Node with EBS 11gR2 RAC

Platform: HPUX IA 64-11.31
DB: 11.2.0.3

We were following metalink note 823587.1 and have successfully converted single-instance database of EBS R12 to 20node RAC. When we are trying to do steps of Section-3.8 of the note the autoconfig is running in error. See the below error message from the "adconfig.log" file:

I am trying to convert my windows to Windows 8.1 PRO from an unactivated version of Windows 8.1 PRO with Media Center (a free trial I got when I purchased my computer that expired). I am having an issue where it says to "Activate Windows."
I purchased a Windows 8.1 PRO key and when I try to enter it into the "Activate Windows" under PC settings, it tells me that "This key can't be used to activate this version of windows." What do I do?

Yes. In addition to what Bee Jay said, here are some other tips.
First record a pattern that's a few bars long, and don't tweak any knobs while you're doing this. Set a Cycle Range, because we want to play this pattern over and over again. Press A to make Automation visible (although there isn't any yet).
Find the channel strip for this track, either in the Inspector or in the Mixer window. Just above the meter, look for the button that says "Off." Hold down this button and a menu will appear. Select "Touch." Press Play. As the pattern plays the first time, pick a knob in the ABL2 window, and mess with that knob. At the end of the pattern, let go of the knob, and then watch what the knob does as the pattern plays again. Then as the pattern plays some more, mess with another knob. You'll notice that curves are being drawn in the Arrange window as you mess with the knobs.
This should help get you started.

Airport Extreme Network - Changing from Verizon DSL to Fios (with TV)

I am currently using Verizon DSL for internet access. My present network is stable with an Airport Extreme Base (New version) and two Airport Express running MDS for range extension, providing wireless access for a Macbook and a PC laptop (my wife's connection to her office/Exchange server via VPN). Two G4 desktop Macs are occasionally connected to the network. One AE provides network access to a shared printer. I routinely use Back to My Mac. The network also provides remote (internet) access to an old model iSight camera and to an inexpensive wireless camera which are served by Evocam software.
I have ordered Verizon Fios bundled services (TV-Internet-Phone) for installation on October 18. The service make sense for many reasons, BUT! A multitude of posts on various boards are telling horror stories about setup problems and failure of certain services to work with Fios, particularly in newer installations that include TV.
My question is this: Am I about to step into an inescapable swamp? Should I cancel the order.

Export of the book from Lightroom to blurb, issue with Backgrounds ' opacitty = overexposed

Hello,
I have Mac book Pro last generation.
While preparing the book with Lightroom, I used new proposed tool that I found very useful , to place photos as background with different type of opacity. After upload to Blurb some of these backgrounds have disappeared at all and some have very bright color (overexposed) , so I am afraid to launch the print . After export into Pdf, everything works correctly.
Please find enclosed two obvious examples, two print screens of pfd file and 2 prinscreent from the ecvivalent of the book Hylem & Mourad wedding at elyseephoto blurb page page 28, 42, 43(i add print screen also).
Please help me to solve the issue, maybe there are some installation to correct for the graphic backgrounds? Are there minimum opacity level?

In the top right hand corner of the Book Module under <Book > change from <PDF> to Blurb.
With Blurb selected you will get lo-res warnings when the resolution is too low. Later on you can change back to <PDF>.

You would not get a lo-res warning if you used original images from your camera. But if you either use small JPGs, or you crop an image severely and then use it for a full page image, the image will be too small to be used.

T440s changing from 1600*900 to 1920*1080 screen

Thanks for this community to exist. I was thinking about changing my screen in order to have an IPS one with a better resolution. So I spotted this model: B140HAN01.2
I just wanted to know if it's possible to change from a t440s model shipped with a 1600*900 screen to the one above.
I heard about some 3G antenna. Does it matters?

Yes you can, I did the change easily, but you may disappointed with the B140HAN01.2 for its yellowish color, it's very inaccurate color display, especially for people and nature photos. My opinion is to wait for a new model of screen's roll out. I also try another LG 1080p screen(LP140WF1-xxxx). The screen is not work for me, it's color seems better, but it's not 16.7M color as B140, it's 262k. You can notice the color is not very smooth in picture sectors of photo. And the LP140 turn to flashing after power on for a few minutes, I don't know if it's because my 1600x900 T440s is using a 1 Lane eDP cable or not, and the LP140 need a 2 lane cables (As the specification of these screen can be find in www.panelook. ) I am also curious why B140 has no such flash problem. I almost desire to find a 2 lane EDP cable for a replacement. I guess the yellowish problem is cause by my 1 lane edp calbe, the flash problem of LP140 may also cause by this, may because of 1 Lane cable power supply or bandwidth shortage. (But in another post, I got negative answer, it seems original FHD 1080p touch screen machine has the same problem, https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T440s-display-colors-calibration-problem/t... So it leave me in completely disappointed with T440s' screen.

Integrating Oracle Apex 4.0.2 with EBS R12.1.1

We could successfully integrate Oracle Apex 4.0.2 with EBS R12.1.1 with the help of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf.
The document says to navigate from EBS to Oracle Apex without any second login screen (works great!!), but now how do we navigate back to EBS from Oracle Apex (in same session) without any login screen again as like below
EBS User login --> EBS --> Oracle Apex --> EBS
Please help to achieve this.

so, that while pressing the Logout link in your apex, you wont be redirected to the ebiz login page again, and it will redirect to you ebiz menu home page back in the same session itself.

APEX integration with EBS R12.1.1 - no SSO

I am trying to complete APEX integration with EBS R12.1.1 in simplest way. I have a non authenticated report page that I need to link to through a menu and function on one of the existing forms.

offers the jsp approach which I like to implement however the jsp will not compile correctly and I am not sure why - I have already fond one error with the code as listed in the document:

Discoverer integration with EBS R12 !!!

Hello Sir,
I need help to install/integrate Discoverer with R12.
Actually, our clients are using Discoverer 4i in current EBS 11.5.10.2 in production. We have just upgraded EBS in TEST environment from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.3.
I had suggested client that Discoverer 4i is actually de-supported and they need to upgrade Discoverer version to minimum 10.1.2.3 or higher to integrate it with R12.1.3.
Now, client also have requirement for Discoverer to be certified with MS Excel 2010 format. So I have suggested to upgrade Discoverer version to minimum 11.1.1.4.
Latest certified Discoverer version is 11.1.1.7.0 as per note Using Discoverer 11.1.1 with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (Doc ID 1074326.1)
1) Can you please provide your opinion and any documentation which I can follow to install/integrate Discoverer with R12 ?

Integration of Oracle Apex with EBS R12.1.1

Dear All,
We are in process of integrating Oracle Apex 4.0.2 with EBS R12.1.1 with the help of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf.
After doing all the steps, the moment when we navigate from EBS application to Apex application by clicking on the EBS menu link it ends up with below error
"404 Not Found
Resource /OA_HTML/null/pls/apex/f not found on this server"
After some analysis i found the below code in "LaunchApex.jsp" for getting the profile value (supposed to be 'http://myserver:port') from custom system profile "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" and prefixing to "/apex/f?p=applicationid:page::APPS:::" is not happening properly

as we found that the custom system profile "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" not exist in EBS system. But it works without any page error if we hard code the entire apex application URL in l_launcher variable, but this takes us to EBS login page instead of Apex application page.
So i feel we can't bypass using profile value from "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" as it has some relation with EBS application session.
So could anyone please help me how we could create custom system profile "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" or any other options to make the seamless integration of Oracle apex with EBS works without any second login page

Create a profile under Application Developer Responsibility as follow:
Name OAE_LAUNCHER
Application <whatever>
User Profile Name Oracle Application Express Launcher
Description Oracle Application Express Launcher
2. Set above profile value under System Administrator Responsibility -> Profile -> System, and search for the ‘OAE_LAUNCHER’.
Set the value at Site Level as:
http://<hostname>:<Apex port>/pls/apex
Then instead of hardcoding the URL in the jsp, just give the profile name OAE_LAUNCHER that you have just created in the jsp.

My Oracle Partner account uses Oracle EBS, Fusion Apps and is in the process of migrating from 10g to 11g; forwarding their question here -
What is Oracle’s recommendation of enabling a 3rd
Party application for Online Patching? Is this a requirement with EBS R12.2 or
is this something that can be done in phases for e.g.
Phase 1: Oracle EBS utilizes Online patching while
the 3rd Party application does not leverage edition based
redefinition for Online patching
Phase 2: 3rd Party application is modified
to leverage edition based redefinition Online patching mechanism.
I would appreciate any insight/recommendations you may have
regarding Online patching for EBS 12.2.
