Test app ad hoc distribution on Itunes windows xp

Hi,
Do you know if it's possible to test an App in ad hoc distribution on Itunes windows xp?
I can't find the process.
How to load mobile.provisonning and IPA in Itunes windows.
Thanks.

Help! I've tried all the steps in this thread and am still unable to distribute to a phone using iTunes on Windows.
In summary, I've created and built an app on my Mac Mini and deployed it to my phone using an ad-hoc provision generated by the developer portal. Taking the same app-bundle and mobile provisioning file to a windows computer and attempting to deploy it to another phone, produces this error:
"Could not be installed because it could not be verified"
I'm trying to figure out why this is failing, surely one of the many steps I've taken is not quite right.
Here are the details:
I created device ids for two phones we’d like to test.
I am using iTunes on a mac.
Then, using the developer portal, I created an ad-hoc provisioning profile for an appID I created earlier.
Then, using XCode, I configured the signing of my app to use the provisioning profile just created.
Then, using iTunes on my mac, I dragged the app bundle and provisioning profile to the applications panel.
Then I clicked sync – it succeeded and the app works on my phone.
Looking in the settings on my phone, I see a profile for the ad-hoc provision.
I emailed the app and the provisioning profile to my brother to install on the other phone.
Using iTunes on windows, he dagged the app (directory) and provisioning profile to the applications panel.
He clicked sync – it failed – "Could not be installed because it could not be verified"
Looking in the settings on my brother’s phone, we see no profile for the ad-hoc provision.

  • Ad Hoc Distribution to a windows machine?

Has anyone been able to use Ad Hoc Distribution from a windows machine to put an app on an iPhone or iPod touch?
I zipped up the .app and .mobileprovision files on the mac but when i bring them over to a windows machine, the .app shows up like it really is as a folder.
And I could not get iTunes to recognize the .app folder or the .mobileprovision file at all.
All the downloaded apps from iTunes come as .ipa files. Does anyone know if there are extra steps needed to do Ad Hoc Distribution on a windows machine?
    Thanks.

  • HT1386 Recently I updated iTunes on my PC and now the "Summary" for syncing my iPhone no longer appears near the top of my iTunes Window. The Summary lists items that I can sync with my iPhone such as "Music, Photos, Apps" etc.

Recently I updated iTunes on my PC and now the "Summary" for syncing my iPhone with iTunes no longer appears near the top of my iTunes window.  "Summary" lists items I can sync such as "Music, Photos, Apps", etc with drop-down boxes I can use to manage how I sync those items.  An icon for my iPhone does appear near the top right corner of the iTunes window; however, when I click on the icon, the sync automatically begins and there is no display of what is syncing or how much space has been used or how much space is left for syncing music, photos, apps, etc. The new iTunes window no longer lists "Devices" on the left-hand side of the window.  Has anyone had the same issue?

  • Why apple store not loading on itunes windows 7

Why is app sore not loading on Itunes windows 7

Try resetting Winsock, it looks like it worked for quite a few people in this thread -> With iTunes 10.4 I can access iTunes store.
MTG68 wrote - In windows 7, click on your start menu, go to accessories, right click on the command prompt icon and choose "run as administrator".  Once it opens, type in the following command...
    netsh winsock reset
hit enter and it should say something like winsock reset successful now reboot your computer.
If that doesn't work, try uninstalling Safari, QuickTime, and iTunes (along with related components). Then just reinstall the latest version of iTunes, without installing downloading and installing Safari or QuickTime seperately.

  • Question about building an app for a single ad hoc distribution

Say I want to build and app and send the app, along with a provisioning profile, to somebody to install via iTunes for beta testing.
The "Ad Hoc" panel says the following:
Ad Hoc distribution allows you to share your application with up to 100 iPhone or iPod touch users, and to distribute your application through email or by posting it to a web site or server. To prepare your application, the following steps will need to be completed.
Create and Download an iPhone Distribution Certificate
Create and Download an Ad Hoc Distribution Provisioning Profile
    Build your application with Xcode
Share your application file and the Ad Hoc Distribution Provisioning Profile with the owner of each device
Recipients of the application will need to drag the application file and Ad Hoc Distribution Provisioning Profile into iTunes, then sync their iPhone to iTunes to install
My question is, do I have to build the application in the extremely complicated way described in the "distribution" tab which says "only the team agent" can do? Or is that for a mass distribution?
Can I build my app like I do for the simulator and just send that along with the provisioning profile to the other person by email?
What is the absolute easiest way of doing this sort of ad hoc distribution?
    Thanks!

Another development device? I don't even have one yet.
The person I'm developing with has one though.
It turns out all that needed to be done was:
    (1) Build using the iPhone OS setting instead of the Simulator setting.
    (2) Set the provisioning profile.
Then using the app and profile, just drop them on top of the apps section in iTune and synch.
That's all there was too it. I didn't need to use all the 11 steps in the distribution section for just the ad hoc distribution, I'm happy to say!

  • Ad hoc distribution and App Store submission

Hi all, this is to people who've used ad hoc and app store submission.
Our application currently is currently setup for Ad Hoc distribution (for testing) and soon we will submit it to the App Store. Do I have to remove the Entitlement.plist file from the project, or can I submit the app with all the ad hoc stuff still in place? (seems a bit messy to remove it etc)

mine have been accepted without removing anything from the project
i just created 2 distribution build configurations:
one for app store dist using app store profile
one for ad hoc with the dist.list and ad hoc profile

  • Ad Hoc Distribution for Adobe Built Apps?

I'm thinking of building some iOS apps but not using the iOS SDK
Does anyone know if I sign up for the Apple Developer Program,
Could I still do Ad Hoc distribution of my Adobe built apps for testing?
I would rather not have to buy a MAC to do development and testing
    Thanks

I have a windows computer. How can I create apps and put them on itunes?

You can't. The iOS SDK requires Mac OS X and an Intel Mac; Windows applications can't be put on either the iOS or Mac OS X App Stores.

I'm starting to have issues with my HP Pavilion, Windows 7, g6t-2000 Notebook PC 64-bit...... and I don't want to take any risk of losing my music and videos because a majority of is third-party (TRUSTED) and I don't want to lose them...... I need to move them to my MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7).

Click here for options. Any movies you've rented from the iTunes Store on the PC won't play on the MacBook.

  • ITunes Windows do not come to the front when app is selected

When I Command-Tab to bring iTunes to the front, the open window does not come into focus. This behaviour is definitely not following human interface guidelines. It's the same when I click iTunes from the dock.

I'm having the same issue. It takes two clicks to bring iTunes window to the front. App switching or clicking on the dock icon will activate the application, but will not bring the iTunes window forward. I either have to click on the dock icon a second time or select iTunes in the app switcher again. Very strange.

  • ITunes Window Moves & Shrinks When I Open The App

This is a very minor annoyance, but I can't seem to fix it...
When I open iTunes I have the window sized to pretty much fill my screen. If I close the window and then reopen it, the new iTunes window is shrunk to about 1/4 of the screen, and moved to a new location on the screen. This happens when I go from mini-player back to full-size as well. This is the only window that doesn't seem to remember its size and location, and it's been going on for several weeks now. I had hoped that the latest iTunes update might fix it, but no luck. I can resize the window manually, but it's annoying that I have to resize it every time I open it. Why doesn't iTunes remember its window size and location?
BTW, I am not switching screen resolution or plugging into external monitors.

This has started to happen to my iTunes now too? I fill the screen with the window, but when I restart the window is half off the screen and smaller? Minor issue I know, but if anyone knows how to fix this it would be good.
    Thanks.
