  • Java skills for XI java mapping

    I don't want to be novice in Java, wanted to know what is the minimum Java knowledge needed for doing medium complex java mapping. I have done C++ programming during grad school, comfortable with ABAP programming. Please point to books to gain "XI java mapping for dummies". I've started with sun tutorial, but it covers all topics which is difficult to achieve in a short period as my intention was to cover as much XI with java skill to do java mapping.  Also I hear SAX and DOM parsers for mapping between source and target in the forum but don't have sufficient background. Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    You can go thro the java mapping code in these blogs:

    Regarding SAX and DOM there are lot of threads discussing the same issue.

  • "Error while registering the Java 2 Runtime Environment registry keys"

    "Error while registering the Java 2 Runtime Environment registry keys"
    I am getting the above error when trying to install the 1.3 JRE (installed with the 1.3 plug in which I need). As part of my development I have been installing and uninstalling the JRE multiple times. Then, I got the above error when trying to install it, and now it appears to be installed but I cannot uninstall it. When I try to uninstall it, it just remains, and when I try to install it again I get the above error. I have tried cleaning up all javasoft registry entries, but it doesnt seem to have helped. Can anyone help me either completely uninstall the JRE so I can do a clean install or help me get rid of the error above when I install. Is there some registry entries I should be looking at? Anything else? this is quite urgent as I need to test my applet with the plugin installed and not installed - and I currently cant uninstall it. Any ideas?
    Thanks for your help

  • How to avoid the java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError

    Hi all!
    I have problem to make my client Java application to work under Oracle JVM. This application works fine as standalone java class. In this mode it communicates fine with a web server.
    I have loaded all needed jar files into my user (sample) using the following command:
    Loadjava -thin -r -v -f -user sample/sample@<my_url>:1521:usr10se <jar files and classes>
    When I call my public method from a PL/SQL function I receive the following error:
    ERROR at line 1:

         at …. Call from my class
    I suspected multiple definitions of the SerializationContext.class in my jar files but was wrong: there is only one definition in the axis.jar file. For some reasons this jar file contained SerializationContext.class and SerializationContext.java modules, but I resolved this problem earlier: loadjava does not allow loading the both.
    What can be cause of the java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError problem?
    What I have to do to make my class work from Oracle JVM?
    Thanks,
    Roman

    Avi,
    You right, at the beginning I had problems with jar files compiled using Java 1.5. But I discovered this problem earlier, when tried to test standalone client application. Since then a whole web services tool kit, provided by my company, was recompiled with Java 1.4 and now I have no problem with standalone classes, running under Oracle JDK 1.4 environment. It means that I’m pretty sure that all Java classes that I’m loading to Oracle are compiled with JDK 1.4.
    You also right with your second guess: not all Java objects in the user_objects table of the SAMPLE user are VALID. I started from a scratch (again): dropped all Java objects from user schema and followed Kuassi Mensah instructions from the “Virtualize Your Oracle Database with Web Services” (http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/mensah_dws.html): I downloaded and then loaded to my schema the Web Service Call-out Utility jar files using the following command: loadjava -u sample/sample@usr10se -r -v -f -genmissing C:\oracle\ora10_DB\sqlj\lib\dbwsclientws.jar C:\oracle\ora10_DB\sqlj\lib\dbwsclientdb102.jar.
    This command loaded about 5000 java objects, but 400+ of them were INVALID and I saw a lot of “ORA-29534: referenced object … could not be resolved” errors.
    The tool kit provided by the group in my company only increased number of invalid objects.
    What is a strategy in this situation?
    Do all the objects have to be VALID?
    I can try to resolve the “ORA-29521: referenced name ... could not be found” errors by finding corresponding classes in some jar files and loading these jar files, but it does not guarantee that all ORA-29534 errors will go away. What else can I do to cleanup my java objects?
    Thank you very mach,
    Roman

  • Using the "java" command in Java 1.4.1

    Hello..
    I don't seem to be able to run any application that should run with
    the "java" command in Java 1.4.1. Everytime I use "java" I get the "java.lang.NoClassDefinitionError"
    Even running this simple program doesn't work:(
    package chapter10;
    public class test {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    System.out.println("Hello WORLD!!");
    }//end class
    when I run: "java chapter10/test"
    I get the following message:
    "Exception in thread 'main' java.lang.NoClassDefinitionError: chapter10/test"
    And the sam happens to any other class when I try to run it:(
    The "javac" command works fine:) but the "java" is giving me a hard time:(
    I would appreciate any suggestions or answers to this problem:) THANK U

    See if this explanation helps.
    Assume that your programs are part of a package named divelog, which is specified by the first line in each source file: package divelog;
    Also assume that this directory (C:\javaT\myWork\) is part of the CLASSPATH list of directories.
    Also assume that all the source files reside in this directory structure: C:\javaT\myWork\divelog\
    Then a statement to compile a source file Named Divelog.java is:
    C:\JavaT\myWork\>javac divelog\Divelog.java
    Explanation:
    Java starts looking for classes in the directory(s) listed in the classpath. In this case, one of the directories should be: C:\JavaT\myWork\ since it contains your divelog package.
    Compiling
    A class can either be part of a package (ie, no package statement at the top of the class.), or not.
    If the class is not part of a package: Its source file needs to be in one of the classpath directories. To compile you use the command: javac SomeFile.java, from within the classpath directory that contains the file.
    The class is part of a package (this case): The source file must be in a subdirectory structure that starts in one of the classpath directories. The subdirectory structure must match the package statement.
    So, you generate a directory structure C:\javaT\myWork\divelog\ which is the [classpath directory + the package subdirectory structure], and place Divelog.java in it.
    Then from the classpath directory (C:\JavaT\myWork\) use the command: javac divelog\Divelog.java
    This creates a file, Divelog.class in the divelog directory. (The following is where people tend to get lost.) The correct name now, as far as java is concerned, is the combination of package name and class name: divelog.Divelog (note I omit the .class)
    Running
    To run a class that's not part of a package: From within the classpath directory that contains the class. use the command: java SomeFile
    To run a class that is part of a package: From within the classpath directory (C:\JavaT\myWork\) use the command java divelog.Divelog (Note that this is analogous to the command for a class not in a package, you just use the fully qualified name)

  • Removing the Java Deployment Toolkit?

    Hello,
    I was wondering if it is possible to remove the Deployment ToolKit .dll from the machine or disable it in browser within an infrastructure?  I wanted to see if there are any other functionality that could be impacted I remove the deployJava1.dll from my machine or disable it in browser?
    The link below shows the following information regarding blocking or removing.
    What is the Java Deployment Toolkit?
    What happens if the Java Deployment Toolkit plug-in is blocked?
    By blocking the Java DT plug-in, the Java version detection mechanism is disabled. Therefore, when a user tries to launch a Java applet or application, that requires a specific Java version other than the active Java version on a user’s system, it will fail.
    Does this mean the application will break?  Or just that the detection mechanism will be broken for  the application version check and the app will still run?  I would like to remove these bits to ensure no version checking is done on my systems.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Your "More System Details" doesn't show any Java plugin at all. Are you sure you have the current version installed? This test page will lead you to a download if needed:
    http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp
    If you have Java installed, check whether its two plugins (Java Platform SE and Java Deployment Toolkit) are set to "Never Activate" on the Add-ons page. That disables them. Open the Add-ons page using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Plugins. Note that disabled plugins cluster at the bottom of the list.

  • Problem when open the Java Berkeley DB

    I'm using the Java Berkeley DB version: je-6.2.31.jar
    - My database has about 4 GB of info.
    - I use a Replicated Environment (but now I'm currently pointing the -nodeHost and -helperHost to the same IP and port)
    - I'm using a StoredSortedMap to store some key/value info. (sorted duplicates is set to true)
    I use the database correctly for some time.
    Normaly I open the database and close many times;
    There is enough disk, and I already tested it in different HDs, (even with a SSD)
    I casually receive the bellow error, it's not more possible to open the data base:

  • Getting the "Java path" defined in a Java JRE installation

    Hallo!
    I have already tried to get some help with this issue but am still unable to get the JRE operational.
    What have I undertaken:
    1. Uninstalled all previous platform modules
    2. Removed all traces of previous plugins and registry entries
    3. Re-installed latest level of Java JRE
    When I now try to use the cmd.exe and input "java -version" the error message I get is that Java is unknown.
    When I try to install the application for which I needed JRE, the installation hangs up with "Java not fully installed".
    Is there any documentation which fully describes the process in steps an untrained user can understand?
    Better still is there a tool which can monitor or test the installation to indicate where I may have gone adrift?
    Any useful tips are welcome.
    Kind regards, forkinpm.

    hi,
    Check the classpath and path settings of envoirnement variables. may be u havent changed them. The java-version command searches the java from there only.

  • Should i use the Java edition ?

    Hi,
    i'm not sure if i should use the Java edition or the "normal" edition of the berkeley db.
    My application is developed in Java, but i won't be using either JTA, JCA or JMX.
    Is there still any advantage to be taken from using the Java edition ?
    Thanks

    There are many minor differences, e.g., JE has somewhat better write performance, DB uses somewhat less memory, DB has an SQL interface and JE does not. But overall, the two products are very similar, so for most questions you might ask, the answer is going to be "about the same".
    If you want to choose the best product for your app, you'll have to define the very specific criteria that are most important to you. If you care most about getting every ounce of performance out of a specific piece of hardware, using a specific amount of memory, for a specific app (access pattern), then you'll have to write a test and do a comparison.

  • How do I enable the Java Accessibilty Stuff?

    Hi. I'm trying to make my application accessible via a screen reader to impaired users. Unfortunately, I'm not having any success whatsoever. If I didnt know Java had accessibility stuff built-in, I would assume that it was just not compatible at all with screen reader technology.
    How do I enable the Java accessibility stuff so that UI components are accessible to a screen reader; they can be iterated over and get sensible names and/or descriptions of them?
    I wrote a simple application, attached below, which just makes a demo UI from which I can start learning the basics of the accessibility stuff. Out of the box, the UI is completely opaque to a screen reader (I'm using the VoiceOver utility bundled with Mac OS X, which does ok with normal applications).
    I tried setting things focusable to no avail, voice over cant cycle through the UI component using the normal keyboard short cuts, and nothing is spoken when I tab between components, despite some things having natural labels, like a menu, and some things, like the button, where i've set the accessible name and description on the accessible context of the component.
    Obviously, I'm doing something wrong or I just don't understand how the accessibility stuff works.
    Could someone please shed some light on this so that I can make my application accessible to a screen reader?
    Thanks.

            aFrame.setVisible(true);
            aFrame.setDefaultCloseOperation(WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);

    Ok, so a very curious issue. If I comment out adding the menu bar to the window, ie comment out this line:
    aFrame.setJMenuBar(aMenuBar);
    The screen reader reads me back everything just like I would expect. I comment the line back in, and nothing, the application is completely invisible to the screen reader.
    Anyone have any idea what this is about?
