Testing discovery script in Powershell gives error on $api.CreateDiscoveryData(0, $sourceId, $managedEntityId)

Hello,
I'm currently starting to develop management packs for SCOM, i understand the basics and can build a simple management pack using powershell.
During testing i'm running into a problem, when running the powershell script directly it gives an error. If i use the discovery script in a management pack everything works ok.
The error is:
Exception calling "CreateDiscoveryData" with "3" argument(s): "Ongeldige klassereeks (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800401F3 (CO_E_CLASSSTRING))"
Part of it is in dutch but it means something like invalid class.
I tried to run the script on one of our management servers but it also gives this error.
It's very frustrating because i want to test the discovery scripts first before building the complete management pack.

Something along these lines should work for you:
.\DiscoveryTest.ps1 -sourceID ([guid]::NewGuid().ToString("B")) -managedEntityID ([guid]::NewGuid().ToString("B"))
Of course your parameter names and numbers may differ.

so I have a neat app that when used, will send an image it takes to your email address of choice. It uses "Mail" as the default mail app, but I only use Entourage as my mail app.

it seems easy enough tweak to me.. see bold text above, but just change the line _tell application "Mail"_ to _tell application "Microsoft Entourage"_ and save the Applescript and viola.. BUT it does not work as once I make that weak & try to save the Applescript I get this error "*Syntax Error Expected “:”, etc. but found property*" and highlights just the word name which is followed by an existing ":". If I change it back to "Mail" it saves just fine... what gives?

I took a different tact that is getting me closer, the Entourage dictionary helped...

now.. I have the email composed, the attachment is found in proper 'home' folder and correctly placed/attached, subject line set, contact addresses set.. BUT my final issue seems to be just getting the email to send. it creates and composes the email, but is waiting for it to manually be sent as it seems my final "tell" is not sending the email automatically like it should. I have used the Entourage script dictionary, but I am failing to see how to get the script syntax that finishes it off by sending the email automatically.

TextCleanup script in IndyCS2 gives error

Hi, I'm running IndyCS2 ver. 4.0.5 on Mac OS X 10.4.10. I've loaded the "TextCleanup" script, along with its companion text file, "ASFindChangeList.txt". (have not tampered with either file.) The script starts out normally, but towards the end (20 lines from the bottom) generates an error at the following point:

Hi Gary,
It sounds as if something is going wrong with the routine that reads the text file. It's most likely that the contents of "myFindString" is not something that InDesign understands. You can add the following line:
display dialog myFindString
Just before the line you started with above ("set myScript to..."). When you run the script, it'll display a dialog with the contents of the find string--and I'm betting it's either gibberish or empty.
Have you tried the JavaScript version? If your interest is simply in getting the thing running, that might be the quickest solution.

I failed to use any Powershell script in Global Conditions with error 87D00327. The script is signed and tested without problem. Setting execution policy doesn't change the result at all.

Hi, Sean.
There was a product issue with signed PowerShell detection method scripts that has been fixed in R2 CU2. I just noticed it's not mentioned in the KB article for CU2. I'm not sure what happened here but I'll have somebody look into this.
Anyway, there's a couple of caveats to consider regarding this fix in your scenario. Firstly if you're creating a PowerShell script detection method you must not copy/paste the script text -- you need to "Open" it. Secondly, if you have any previously created
PowerShell script detection methods with signed scripts, you will need to re-add the detection script (again using "Open"). Finally, you must use an administrator console that's been updated to CU2 and a client that's been updated to CU2 for this fix to be
effective.

I had the same error and it was caused by the newest versions of Azure PowerShell. I had to install back to version 8.14 (February 2015) in order for it to work.

"generate subset" in script gives error if even number

I am try to generate with a scipt using a PXI6551. In the generate subset command if it is a EVEN number such as below (gree) subset(0,17) it gives the error below (red). If it is an ODD number it works. Is this a bug, normally you would need an even number of samples to be able to generate but with the script it seems to give the error if there is an even number?

The format (x,y) means y samples starting at position X and therefore when you specify (0,17) you would still generate 17 samples but starting at position 0. Whereas when specifying (1,17) you would generate STILL 17 samples but starting at position 1. Therefore, in either case, you are still asking to generate an odd number of samples. Hope this helps.

Report server gives error

i have installed oracle 9i AS (EE)on NT,
Now i want to display reports in pdf/HTML on web broswer. For that i am trying to run report tester page given through broswer it is showing one page having Button(run report), when i click on that, it gives error unable to connected to database, and request rejected by report server. WHY ???
i want to display reports through JSP How it can be done? Does anybody knows it?

This query gives me an error in Code inspector like :
Large table pa0001: No first field of table index in WHERE condition
I have one more query that gives error in extended program check
SELECT SINGLE stell ename
      INTO (g_stell, g_name)
      FROM pa0001
      WHERE pernr EQ wa_nca_tab-pernr AND
            endda EQ c_date.
The warning says:
*In "SELECT SINGLE ...", the WHERE condition for the key field "SEQNR" does not
test for equality. Therefore, the single record in question may not be unique.*

The first field is PERNR .. so if UR not giving pernr it will fetch
all the data from the said table and between the given dates ..
Check if this is your requirement ...
write the select as ...
where r_pernr is a range ...

As UR using select single it's expecting to use all the key
fields in the where condition ...

XL Reporter gives Error after updating from PL 25 to SBO 2005 B PL 38

I have tested it in PL 38, its work fine but it has occoured one more problem i.e. XL Reporter is not working now.
However I have updated XL Reporter to PL30, but it gives error.
It has reamed used userdefined fields of the report. I have correct it too. But it gives error " Expansion has problem ".
Can any body has idea for running XL reporter successfully after updating patch level.
Can any one has faced this error or have solutions.
Pl. Help. so that i can updating it to Final Live Database.

But I have successfully installed the XL Reporter means upgraded.
Now, When I am running existing reports which are preapred in previous version, is not running. It gives error i.e. Expansion has problem.
B4 this error, it has shown me some other error for user defined field was not found, when i have checked, the upgradation of patch level has changed the name of UDFs.
I have modified the udf names in the report.
Can u identify wht is the problem exactly please..

OOTB workflow gives error when user rejects in the document in publishing a major version.

Hi All,
I am using OOTB workflow with little customization with following configuration
1. Allow content approval enabled
2. Configure a workflow with following general settings true
3. Start workflow on publish of Major version only is enabled
4. workflow has following configuration enabled.
Now, when user start publishing of major version and Starts the workflow. workflow starts without any problem.
But as and when the user rejects the document it is rejected with Reject status with "Approval Status" as well as workflow status which is expected.(This is correct )
But when i look at the workflow history i can see at last line there is an Error with
An error has occurred in In [Workflow Name].
Now when user check out and check in item again and try to publish with Major version again. it gives errors that the previous version is still running.
I have trace a lot and also test with original OOTB workflow itself. it is behaving the same.
As per my findings there is problem in "Completion condition of this task process" the end task process is not being executed correctly.
I tried to end the task process with End the task process action but it is still not working.
I need some help in this issue as users are facing problems in case of rejection. I hope some one has the solution for the same.
Two things i have noticed are
1. My MS office 2010 professional plus is expired as i was using trial version
2. I have made stop inheriting tasks permission and remove all default groups as i have settings in workflow "Only allow task reception and process owner to read and edit workflow task"
3. Earlier i had also installed "Sharepoint 2010 April 2012 updates". i had also observed that (installing Sharepoint 2010 April 2012 updates) before that if user has selected "Automatically rejects the document if any participant rejected". it ends
with "rejected" status. At present it remains in inprogress and not stops with rejected status.
Can any one give me a hint what should be the problem ? Is it a problem with latest Sharepoint 2010 April 2012 updates ?

It's probably best to close thread and that I start a new one. I think that I have gone off on a tangent here. Yes SSIS isn't doing much of a job in reporting errors but my main concern is the error itself.
I am trying to port an SSIS Script Task from SQL 2008 to SQL 2012. Is uses the ReportExecution2005 web service to run SSRS reports. The really strange thing is that, even though the same web reference is used, different methods seem
to be available in SQL 2008 and SQL 2012. This doesn't sound right to me, if you refer to the same Web Service you should see the same metros or am I wrong about that.
For example in SQL 2008 there is ReportExecutionService
object but on the SQL 2012 to service there only seems to be
ReportExecutionServiceSOAPClient.
