Testing JMS

Is there any way to test JMS adapter..
What do I have to install & configure.??

Hi,
You can test the JMS adapter by using Websphere MQ (WMQ) or Sonic MQ. To test the scenario you need to install jar files into XI box provided by these vendors. If you donu2019t have these MQ series softwareu2019s available at your end then use Transport Protocol as u201CAccess JMS with JNDIu201D. In this case you need not install drivers / jar files but you need to create a queue in Visual Admin or you can use existing queue also. Once the queue is created, configure the JMS adapter and monitor in RWB and SXMB_MONI. You can use file to JMS and JMS to file scenario for testing purpose.
Reward points if it is helpful.

Sridhar.

• Testing JMS content conversion

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario MQ-->PI--ECC.
MQ sends a flat file and there is JMS content conversion used in sender JMS channel. On MQ side channels are not yet setup. Now I need to test if JMS content conversion is working properly. I cannot test by triggering flat file from RWB.
Is there a way I can trigger a file from any third party tools and test the content conversion. Do you have any suggestions to make this test possible.
Thanks,
Avinash.

Hi Avinash
One option is to create a temporary File/FTP sender channel and use it in the sender agreement replacing the JSM channel. In the File/FTP channel, use the MessageTransformBean to achieve content conversion. This way, you can test out the content conversion parameters, and once the JMS server is ready, you can just swap it.

• Test jms connection

Hi,
I have a functionality in which i have to test that jms connection is well or not. I have queueConnectionFactory and QueueDestination ready with me. what is the best way to test that connection undistructivly.(I am not allowed to put or read any message from that queue).
any suggestion would be appreciate.
Thanks in Advance

• SJSAS 2005Q1 JMS ConnectionFactory error

Hi all,
I am finally very close to getting a test JMS Topic connection working, but I am running into the issue with Root exceptions when trying to provide it with a INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY. The SJSAS server is located on a different computer.
My question is, what values should I provide to
INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, and
PROVIDER_URL
I have tried all suggestions that were on this board, but none were specific to SJSAS and didn't work... I either got crazy messages ending with "Maybe" or a Root exception with the class.
Thanks for your help.

The reason for asking was this type of thread locking issues requires reproducible set-up for further investigation. This type of investigation takes time/effort which might not be possible on Forums. Are you able to reproduce it consistently on other machines?If so if you can send me the reproducer, I can try analysis for you. (if time permits)

I was testing JMS to Flat file scenario, and facing issues with the following error. Do you have any idea about this error.
Along with my input file I am passing JMS Message properties, based on the certain properties JMS Message Selector identifies the interface.

• Error 1603 when Installing JMS

Hi, I am doing a training period and i just tried to install JMS Standalone 3 2005Q1, on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1.
When launching setup.bat, an error 1603 occurs, saying that a file cannot be modified because it's in used but the installation goes on.
The first time, the installation goes right and i could test JMS and the helloworld message.
Back from week end, nothing, imqadmin occurs an error. I re install, still an error, actually nothing at all.
According to Microsoft's web site, error 1603 are due to limite access. I've ADMIN access, so could you give me a hand please.
i tried to be the most exhaustive on my problem, in the best english i could
thx

Okay, I really need this to be fixed. I've already tried the "ultraclean" install and a bunch of other crap, but iTunes and the iPod Updater refuse to come off my computer. In Add/Remove Programs, like I said before, there are 4 iPod Updaters, with 2 of them without a button, and the two that have the button to remove, it doesn't work. There are also 2 iTunes.
Oh, and the QuickTime standalone works, but I uninstalled it in hopes I could get iTunes to work again. Also, when I run the iTunes installer, where it's supposed to show the destination folder, it's blank, and I have to type it in manually.

• MDB+JMS+JMSAppender

Hi,
I'm trying to run JMSAppender i have a few questions.
First is related with MDB. I deployed it on Oracle9iAS this kind of mdb:
<message-driven >

<display-name>iateLogginMDB</display-name>
<ejb-name>iateLogginMDB</ejb-name>
<ejb-class>cdt.iate.jms.JmsLoggin</ejb-class>
<transaction-type>Container</transaction-type>
<acknowledge-mode>Auto-acknowledge</acknowledge-mode>
<message-driven-destination>
<destination-type>javax.jms.Topic</destination-type>
<subscription-durability>NonDurable</subscription-durability>
</message-driven-destination>
- <resource-ref>

Topic Queue

<res-ref-name>jms/TopicConnectionFactory</res-ref-name>
<res-type>javax.jms.TopicConnectionFactory</res-type>
<res-auth>Application</res-auth>
<res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>
</resource-ref>
</message-driven>
It works perfect on JBoss, but I'm not sure, that it works here. Question: how can
I be sure, that it was delpoyed? I took a look through admin console and it says to me, that ejb-app is deployed, but inside I can't see any bean. I suspect, that it shows only CMP beans, I'm right?
Is any way to see MDB status, how many active connections and so on?
Next thing is related with JMSAppender. I'm not sure, that it works ok. I didn't find some log file to see all errors of application. I read about a possibility here:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/htdocs/oc4j-logging-debugging-technote.html, but my application.log is prety empty. Is it possible to get log4j error in this file?
I tested JMS and I got through JNDI JMS object. But I don't know how can I test MDB and JMSAppender. Of course MDB can be tested through some web layer, but it will take same time:)
Could you help?

Tank's for your replays.
I just want to create MDB project that listening to the JMS.
I need a small example for that goal.To be honest, writing an MDB is an absolute piece of p!ss. Where you'll find things getting complex is the configuring of your containers and brokers. And that very much depends on what containers and brokers you're using. You're just going to have to bite the bullet and read some documentation

• OC4J/JMS Queue Listener

Hello,
Have a simple test JMS client that is listening for messages posted to a JMS queue setup in the OC4J/JMS. While the messages are ending up in the proper queues [this can be verified via a queue browser] the listener does not seem to be getting any notifications. The receiver code is essentially,
queueConnection = queueConnectionFactory.createQueueConnection();
QueueSession queueSession = queueConnection.createQueueSession(
false,
Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
QueueReceiver queueReceiver = queueSession.createReceiver(queue);
System.out.println("Set Listener");
queueReceiver.setMessageListener(new OracleListener());
queueConnection.start();
This is from a remote client for both the sender and the reciever. Any help would be much appreciated.
Vinay Menon

I am investigating this issue myself. I have come up with two possible scenarios.
1. Do it in Java -- Of course this defeats the purpose of using SOA Suite. In the book SOA Suite 11g handbook, chapter twelve he has a jms adapter publishing to a queue and a java program listening to that queue. http://technology.amis.nl/2010/09/21/soa-suite-11g-handbook-chapter-complements/
you can refer to the TheFinancialApplication.
2. If you have access to the Jms programs that publish the messages to the queue (that your programs want to listen to) and they are done in SOA Suite 11g, you could use Event Delivery Network (EDN) to create a event on the publishing side-- and then set up your listening processes to listen for that Event (which is jms under the hood).
You could then have those processes kick off from that event.
Anyone with a better idea?
-- Update 8 hours later  -- I have a better idea:
I created a composite that publishes a JMS message to a queue on weblogic using the jms adapter. I created a second composite with a jms adapter (on the Exposed services side of the composite) that Consumes a message, hooked it up to a mediator and then wrote the contents of the message to a file. Uploaded both.
Moments after the JMS publisher Composite ran, a file was created. From this I would surmise that you could run other processes as well.
-- Update two days later. So much for the better idea.
Given that the Flow Trace of the last test looked suspiciously like this one one application and not two separate applications, I decided to test it further. I have two PCs. On each PC I have a soa domain, Uploaded the jms publisher to one domain, and the JMS Consumer to the other separate domain on the other PC. Ran the publisher, and the other one just sat still -- didn't start at all.
The first test was too good to be true!

I don't know what the issue might be, or whether it involves JMS per se. Check for pools in your thread dump that appear to be completely used up - this situation can lead to having no new threads to process new work or to wake up sleeping threads. It might help to post more detail -- full stack dumps for the blocked JMS, WS, and HTTP threads, or, better yet, the full thread dump. You might also want to try posting to one of these newsgroups:

• Need HELP regarding JMS

We have written a small Message Server in C++ for Solaris Platform. Can anyone tell us that what we will have to do to communicate with JMS clients.

2. Setup the jndi for the MQ - in jboss-service.xml for Jboss and via the Admin console for WAS

• Weblogic JMS - ODI

Hello,
I'm getting some strange issue to post a message in a JMS weblogic queue.
In fact, I've OSB 11g and i've created a Connection Factory and a Queue on my local server so their is : MyODICF (connection factory) and MyODIQueue (queue). Both have been created with the ressource name jms/
.
So, in ODI in my topology I create a new JMS Queue data server... I'm using the driver : "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory" and url : t3://localhost:7001 and my user account.. When i'm testing connection i'm getting success..
So after that I create my physical and logical server for this Data server.. Then I create a new model JMSQUEUE with my new queue data server on technology, then I create my queue with the name : my_odi_queue and ressource name : jms/MyODIQueue when i post mannualy (in weblogic console) a message on my queue i can see it with right click on odi -> View data..
Now when i create a interface for just post a message. IE I put my queue on target and I fill up the only one column that i've just created (DATA : Char(500)) with "ODI - TEST JMS"
I'm using the IKM SQL to JMS Append on flux. In options I put all default values..
when i execute this interface i got this message :
ODI-1227: Faillure with method post (Intégration) with connection MyCF of source JMSQUEUE.
Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: Missing file structure in the request.
Is anyone know what is my problem ?

Hello,
Did you solve the problem??
perhaps you could help me, I am trying to do something very similar, but I get an error when trying to view data in the data store, the problem description is:
I have all the jars (wlfullclient also), changed the value of ODI_JAVA_PARAM, create the physical and logical architecture for JMS Queue technology, and everything seems to be ok, the test with the local agent is succeed.
In designer I create the model and them the data store, and at this point I get the error, when trying to view data after creating it.
Can you help me?
Thank you very much.
