Testing of remote connection

Hi,
I have opened a remote connection for my system sap for a problem brought(reported) to the OSS, but they cannot connect.
There exists a way of verifying that the this correct connection?
Thank you.
Enrique

Hi,
The problem is that they does not appear the log-in screen. OSS guy say:
now I don't get the "partner not reached: connection refused" error but a time out while connection and I can't get to the logon screen. Could you please check the settings again ?
I checked my conección and I do not find problems.
Some suggestion?
Thank you.
Enrique.

  • ERROR 14614 on Front End when testing with Remote Connectivity Analyzer

    Hello forum
    Does the Lync Remote Connectivity Analyzer not support 128 encryption?
    Reason im asking is the following:
    When I test my Lync edge server. I get the following error on the RCA result page:  RegisterException.
    After this error on the RCA, the event 14614 is logged on my Standard Edition Front end server.
    INFO:
    User authentication with NTLM protocol failed with error SEC_E_UNSUPPORTED_FUNCTION. This indicates a potential mismatch between security policy settings on the client and server computers.
    Cause: This error can occur if the settings in "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients" policy on the client computer are not the same as the settings in the "Network security: Minimum
    session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers" policy on this server.  By default, the "Require 128-bit encryption" setting is disabled for computers running Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003,
    Windows 2000 Server, or Windows XP. For computers running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, this setting enabled by default.
    Resolution:
    Ensure that the "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients" policy settings on the computers from which users log on are the same as "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based
    (including secure RPC) servers" policy settings on this server.
    All of our Lync servers are running on Windows 2012 R2. So why this error from the RCA?

    Please check your settings on the client and on the server.
    I know, this is a old blog info, but it discribed the problem.

    Thanks for the answer, but in this case the "Client" is the Remote Connectivity Analyzer. So my question was, why is it not working with that? Does the RCA not support 128 bit?

  • A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.

    A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The
    server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26- Error:Locating Server\instance Specified)
    How Can i solve this?

    1. Make sure SQL Server Service is running
    2. If a named instance, make sure SQL Server browser service is running
    3. Make sure SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections
    4. Examine the SQL Server error log for messages confirming that SQL is listening on the expected network interfaces and ports
    5. Test server connectivity with PING from the client machine
    6. Test port connectivity using TELNET or PowerShell to the server and port (from step 4) from the client machine.  For example
    a. TELNET <server-name> 1433
    b. PowerShell: 1433 | % { echo ((new-object Net.Sockets.TcpClient).Connect("YourServerName",$_)) "server listening on TCP port $_" }
    7. Check firewall settings if step 5 or 6 connectivity test fails

    Hi all,
    I want to read an xml file from a remote connection, not from my local machine.So when i am creating the data server i am giving the host name(that is the ip of the machine where the xml file is located), giving the proper username and password and giving the path of the xml file. When i am testing the connection the error that is coming:- "Connection failed and the xml file could not be created, verify that you have write permission in the directory"...

    Hi Sutirtha,
    Initially I have started the agent.sh giving the agent name <agent name>and port number 20910 and defined it in the topology manager it is showing that the agent test is succesful. Then I tested a particular Data server against that agent and the test was successful.
    After this we had stopped the agent and restarted it.
    However now suddenly the testing against the remote agent is failing with the following excep:

  • How can i test my vpn connection?

    so recently i decided to test if ver 1.3.0.3 of the quickvpn client would work better with the 1.3.0.5 rvs4000 firmware. i loaded quickvpn to an xp pro computer (freshly built, i might add) and got to work. in order to test the connection, i attempted to piggy back off an unsecured wireless network. this network is on the same ISP network as i am.
    i use dynamic DNS, and the unsecured wireless network could resolve my IP correctly, but for some reason i couldnt connect to my home network from the unsecured network. my router is set to respond to lan requests, but i couldnt ping it. my router passes HTTP traffic to a computer in my network, but i couldnt bring up the webpage. finally, my router responds with the router config page over port 443, and i couldnt bring that up.
    so i used my ISP's dialup service to test. initially, as always, i had a million problems with the vpn client. systematically, i tried to resolve the issues. i installed the patch in the readme for quickvpn. i checked log files to see where stuff was failing. eventually, i could connect to the VPN, but would get that "remote gateway is not responding" crap. i know of a (poor) workaround for this which allows you to "finalize" the connection, but that workaround doesnt allow you to ping around in your network. sometime later, after randomly messing with settings, the tunnel would connect without the workaround. i have no idea what "fixed" this.
    despite all this, my 28.8Kbps connection wouldnt allow me to do anything meaningful on my network. i couldnt connect to the router or to a server of mine (http or fileshare). the only thing i could do was ping internal devices. other requests seemed to "hang" rather than timeout or do anything more concrete. basically, i gave up on testing using dialup, even though my router and the client software confirm a good connection. but i still wasnt convinced.
    next, i figured i could create some type of "DMZ" on my network by placing a switch between my ISP's modem and my router. im not a cisco network professional by any means, but im pretty familiar with networking on a above-average level. that said, despite my best, i couldnt get my quickvpn computer to see my router from the "DMZ".
    finally, i figured i could just test the tunnel while directly connected to my network's lan. bad idea. everything seems to go okay until it locks up on "activating policy". rebooting or otherwise ending the negotiation ends in the computer being unable to do anything anymore. when i try to ping anything, i get "negotiating ip security" ad infinitum. the only way i could fix this was by doing a system restore.
    so here's the question: how can i test my quickvpn connection?why can't i just tunnel through my network? and before you scream that you can't, thegreenbow vpn client has NO PROBLEM connecting to my rvs4000 while connected to my own network.

    Hi Aaron,
    I am going exactly the same thing as you however, I had my cousin buy and install a RVS4000 at his house in Australia.
    I access it from the USA so that I can help manage his Local Area Network, he is just not technical..
    I setup a DDNS client on his RVS4000 so that I can always get to his Router via a domain name rather than a IP address.
    I noticed that you didn't mention anything regarding importing client certificate into the directory of the VPN client on your PC.
    I also noticed I disabled IPSec passthrough on the router in Australia, see the pictures below, not sure why, but the VPN client is working.
    I also did not setup any gateway to gateway VPN tunnels, Only added a client , exported certificate as per the manual, See the last screen capture below.
    You will also note if you view the screen captures that my cousins RVS4000 has not been upgraded to the new code.Is there a reason for that...not really...he's just a user, not really technical.  Also note I have not added any VPN tunnels on my RVS4000.
    I have a reasonably reliable connection between the USA and Australia. I didn;t have to play with any other options, just add users to the VPN client database.
    Your description of the working environment of your PC is missing details on the version of XP, so i will mention the following taken from the software release notes of the RVS4000 ;
    There is a known issue with Windows XP SP2 Firewall.
    ICMP packets are always dropped by the firewall when the firewall is enabled.
    This issue causes the QuickVPN client to be unable to establish a tunnel with the remote QuickVPN server successfully.
    Microsoft has released a patch to fix this issue, which you can get from:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889527/en-us
    After you install the patch, the issue should be resolved. You can also fix this issue by upgrading Windows XP to SP3.
    You cannot plug a PC on the same network as the router for testing, they must be on dissimilar WAN  networks for testing purposes.
    Your remote  PC VPN client will not be allocated a IP address in the RVS4000's network, hosts behind the RVS4000 will still respond to pings, as they direct the responses to their default gateway, the RVS4000.
    The thegreenbow VPN client is a distracter at this point costing 50 something EURO  for a license, lets try to get the quickVPN client working !
    So, if you still wish try the following, firstly make sure your XP has been upgraded to  SP3;
    1.  If you upgraded your router to the new version of code, then reset your router to factory defaults to re-initialize your router, yes start again.
    2.  Export the VPN client certificate to the directory that contains the VPN client.  In my case it is;
               "C:\Program Files\Cisco Small Business\QuickVPN Client"
    3.  add a VPN client account to the router
    4.  Use port 60443 from the quickVPN client. and try  VPNing to the router.
    5  hmmm, if the client still fails try disabling IPSec Passthrough on the router for grins and giggles.
    If this fails, call the SBSC at the following location for resolution;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html
    good luck ...regards Dave

  • Help with Server Structure and File Identification / Test vs Remote vs Local

    I inherited a website at a new job.  I have 0 experience with building websites, let alone DW and have only been through the beginning tutorial.  I feel I am ready to make my first edits to the website.
    We have two servers, test and remote.  I have files saved in C: under wamp folder.  When I am connected to test server, the folder structure doesnt change, but the folders turn red.  If the folders are not red, I am working from the local file?  If the folders turn red, I am working from the Testing Server copy?  And if so with the red folders, why is the file path still the same, C:\wamp etc...?
    Thanks -
    John

    Sounds about right.
    I have my local site folder inside WAMP/www/  so when I save local files in DW, they're immediately saved in the testing server.  This also allows me to see parsed content in Live View or Live Code.

  • Solution manager Remote Connection issues

    Hi
    I'm currently in the process of setting up Solution Manager 7.1 on windows Server 2008r2 using central system.
    I did the prerequisite check & the Solman installation and i'm actuallly working on the post-installation steps.
    I'm experiencing difficulty with the step : "Configure Remote Connection to SAP".
    I followed the informations provided on :   http://service.sap.com/remoteconnection
    In the technical prerequesite you have to set up a connection to sap support.
    So i have to choose a connection type : I selected Internet connection so my first question is : do we need "VPN with SNC" or "VPN OR SNC" ?
    I personnaly understood VPN or SNC.
    So from here i decided to use SNC.
    The first step was to set up & configure the SAProuter. I decided to do it on an another computer on the same domain ( not on the same computer where Solution Manager is installed ) but i'm not sure it is necesary
    I assume I can install Saprouter on the same location as the Solution manager? do you recommend it ?
    The Basic Functions testing with niping is working.
    The next step is : "establish Internet Connections"
    So now i can choose between SNC or VPN : my goal is to establish the connection as fast as possible.
    I actually don't have a switch available ( i can get one if necesary but time is running ... ) so i'm opting for the SNC solution.
    I tryed to get the certificate for the saprouter but i don't have a register SAProuter, but when i opened a customer messager for component  XX-SER-NET, SAP answered about the impossibility to access SAP service Backbone with an SNC , saying that i will need to register a VPN site to site connection to SAP => i don't get it .... Can someone explain it to me ?
    So please can one of you guru's tell me how to set this remote connection :
    -which materials ( server / switch / firewalls ) ?
    -where to get the right documentation ?
    -What about DMZ ?
    -I have a single IP Address is that enough ? ( setting up nat for port  3299 )
    - do i have to contact a service provider ?
    My idea was initially to set up the SAProuter on the same computer as the SOLMAN setup & use SNC communication  to communicate with SAP but it doesn't seems that easy. Do i need separate installation for Saprouter <=> Solution Manager. ?
    What's the minimal infrastructure to establish this connection ?
    In addition to that, after configuring the SAProuter, i had trouble with the SAPMMC : on my system , on the instance 0 , the process disp+work.EXE  won't run ( yellow light )and i can't find where i made a mistake if you have suggestions ...
    Really need your help, i'm on a short deadline ... Any help, even incomplete, would be appreciated.
    Thanks a lot.

    Thx for the answer.
    I actually managed to register my saprouter with SAP and was granted with CN/OU & connection informations.
    I followed this guide : http://service.sap.com/saprouter-sncdoc  with the addition of this guide : http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Basis/SAProuterviaSNC.
    My first issue : I'm running with a Windows server 2008 r2 enterprise edition 64 bits with a processor Intel Xeon 2.4ghz ( dualcore). so i decided to use the crypto folder "nt-x86_64"
    For the environment variable i set as System variables SECUDIR = C:\usr\sap\saprouter and SNC_LIB = C:\usr\sap\saprouter\nt-x86_64\sapcrypto.dll
    The generation/install of the certificate is alright ( sapgenpse get_my_name -v -n Issuer is OK )
    using the command :saprouter -r -K "p:CN=mycn, OU=myOUnbr, OU=SAProuter, O=SAP, C=DE" i have
    I get the following message :  trc file     dev_rout
                                                    no ligging active
    Its strange cause it looks like its running but when i check the services running on windows saprouter isn't started .... How to know if SAProuter is running right ?
    If i folow the SAP procedure : Step 3 : test of the ip connection by the customer : SAP Remote Services : technical preparation ( see SAP Note 812386 ) : it's ask in the note to implement note 766505 via SNOTE : i get the following error msg : Error in remote connection to destination SAPOSS : Error when opening an RFC connection ( LB: Hostname or service of the message server unknown#DEST = SA
    What's wrong ?
    If i use T oss1 in parameter => technical setting => i set my saprouter info in SAProuter 1 ( at customer site ) with instance no. 99 and if SAProuter and SAPNet Message Server at SAP i put the following : Name : sapserv2 / IP Address 194.39.131.34 intance no. 99 and message server name oss001/ DB Name 001/ Instance no.01.
    When trying to "Logon to SAPNet"  i have an error Unable to connect to SAPNet message server ( default connection will be used ... )
    and followed by the error screen : "partner '80.15.173.168:sapdp99' not reached WSAECONNREFUSED : Connection refused. do you want to see the detailed error description ? "
    Details : module nixxi.cpp / line 3286 / Method : NipConnect2:80.15.173.168:3299 / Return code : -10 / System call : connect / Error No : 10061 / Error Text WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused / Counter : 10
    Any idea ?
    when doing niping.exe -c -H /H/mylocalSR/H/194.39.131.34/H/194/39.131.34 i obtain :
    Wed Dec 07 21:20:09 2011

    excluding max and min :
    av2   118.273 ms
    tr2   16.514 kB/s
    Is it the expected output ?
    I've maintained system data in service.sap.com/system-data ( selecting the sap router ) then i tryed to use the SAP service connection, downloaded the .exe but i can't find the stfk.oez. I realized that in my maintain connection screen i have no space for entering any routestring. Seems wrong ?
    Do i have to use the SAO?
    i've made nat redirection from my router as this : from my public ip to my lan ip ( 192.168.x.x) what should i enter in the routestring : /H/public or lan or hostname ?/S/3299 ?
    Hoping you can help me ! ( the goal of all this is to set up RFC connection for postinst step of Solution manager ).

  • How do I setup a php testing server that connects to my web host?

    My web host (webhostingpad.com) has php on it. I need to setup a testing server that connects to this so I can test my site locally.
    My questions are:
    1. Do I set this up as a local network connection or an sftp (same as my remote)?
    2. what information do I put in to make this work?

    1024MB is enough to have 2 instances but You have to know what are going to be the requirements levels of those instances in order to check if your memory is enough.
    The memory is a theme that relate Oracle SGA with RAM in the machine.
    To have a second database server you have to make another installation in a different Oracle Home.
    It is not the same to have 2 instances than 2 Oracle database servers.
    Do you know what is the difference ?

  • Sql 2005 Remote Connection

    I am having a problem connecting to a remote SQL server 2005 instance.  The remote server is for a website hosting account of mine.  I can connect to the server from computers other than the problem computer just fine.  I cannot connect to the server using any software including SQL Server Management Studio Express, Visual Web Developer, or even when trying to use aspnet_regsql.exe on the problem computer.  The request to connect to the remote server never seems to leave my computer.  When talking to my hosting service, they replied that they did not receive a request to connect to their server from me.  I have shut down Windows Firewall as well as my third-party firewall with no change.  The error message that I receive is:
    An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.  When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 53)
    If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated.

    There are a couple of changes that need to be made to allow remote connections to the server... and these need to be made on the server. Have a look at this KB Atricle. Also one way to test is to create a simple ODBC Connection and see if you can get through. Also I see it stange that a hosting company is allowing remote connections to the database server, normally they only allow connections through some sort of web interface or one of there own client tools.

  • Can't remote connect to sql server

    I have SQL Sever 2008 R2 on the cluster environment
    cluster server name is A
    Cluster Node 1 name is A1 (current active one)
    Cluster Node2 name is A2
    SQL Server name is Ab, default instance, tcp/ip port 1433
    I am not able to remote connect to the server. I tried A, A1, Ab and their corresponding IP address, not of them works. Should I change to the SQL Server name to match with the cluster server name? Thanks in advance!

    Dont have to change the sql server name.
    In a standalone machine when you have a default instance, the sql server name is indeed the server name. But in cluster its the network name that is associated with the virtual ip for SQL.
    If you try with either SQL Server Network Name or IP address it should work. If it doesnt work try forcing TCP protocol and the port number in connection and see.

  • Can't connect to server remotely, connects fine locally

    I've got an extremely frustrating problem that I can't figure
    out. I have a simple application to test the connection to the FMS
    2 server. If it can connect it basically just says "Connection
    Successful", if it can't connect "Connection Failed". It's named
    'FMStest' and I have created a folder by that name in the
    'applications' directory within the FMS2 directory. The local
    version connects successfully and shows as connected in the
    management console--the connection string I'm using locally is:
    rtmpNow = "rtmp:/FMStest";
    The remote connection fails everytime--I upload the published
    files to our webserver and access the created html file. the
    connection string I use for the remote connection is:
    rtmpNow = "rtmp://my.domain.com/FMStest"; //domain changed
    for security reasons
    Here is the full code:
    var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    var rtmpNow:String = new String();
    rtmpNow = "rtmp://my.domain.com/FMStest"; //changed for
    privacy
    nc.onStatus = function(info){
    trace ("Level: "+info.level+" Code: "+info.code);
    trace(code.list);
    connect_txt.text = info.code;
    if(connect_txt.text == "NetConnection.Connect.Failed"){
    stat_text.text="Status: Not Connected";
    status_text.text = "Connection to "+rtmpNow+" failed"+"
    Level: "+info.level+" Code: "+info.code;
    else{
    status_text.text = "connection successful";
    stat_text.text="Status: Connected!";
    nc.connect(rtmpNow);
    stat_text.text = "Status: Connecting";
    We've checked all the firewall and other configurations, I've
    tried all variations of the connection string (including using the
    IP address) No luck. Any ideas?

    If you get a "Connection failed" from typing "telnet
    my.domain.com 1935", you have a connection problem. Try running the
    client from different sites (starting from the server itself) to
    identify the component that's blocking the connection.
    You can try running the server on more ports than 1935. Try
    port 1935 and port 80 with RTMP and RTMPT.
    To do so shutdown your server and edit the ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT
    entry in fms.ini. You may have to disable your webserver to avoid
    port conflicts. Then start FMS again and retry. Then check the log
    files. Best is to have a tail on access.00.log

  • MySQL + Remote Connection

    Hi all,
    How can i establish a connection to a remote DB?
    I allready create a ODBC Data Source ( Data Sources (ODBC) ), in System DNS. I test this data source and connect succefully.
    My problem is how to do this connection is JSP code. I use DriverManager, but don't have any kind of sucess.
    Greetings!

    if you want to create a remote connection to a MySQL database then you don't need an ODBC datasource: simply use JDBC to connect to the database. During the connection setup you need to provide a JDBC url which contains a hostname and a port: set these to your remote host. If you have the rights to connect to the database it should work.

  • X11 refuses remote connections after 2006-002

    After installing the 2006-002 security update, my X11 installation refuses all remote connections, even refusing 127.0.0.1:0.0 as a display. I checked that this worked with 10.4.5 2006-001 on my machine (booting from an external firewire drive) and it was accepted. I do not see anything in the package receipt for the 2006-002 upgrade that implies the X11 installation was touched. I tried the 2006-001 v1.1, same behavior. Any ideas?
    1> printenv DISPLAY
    .0
    2> emacs &
    [1] 1156
    3> setenv DISPLAY 127.0.0.1:0.0
    4> emacs &
    [2] 1157
    5> emacs: Cannot connect to X server 127.0.0.1:0.0.
    Check the DISPLAY environment variable or use `-d'.
    Also use the `xhost' program to verify that it is set to permit
    connections from your machine.
    xhost + doesn't help. All incoming X11 windows are blocked.

    pfd - bummer.
    Let's be sure your firewall didn't change inadvertantly. I presume you have ports 6000-6002 open? Also - I would enable firewall logging and tail -f /var/log/ipfw.log while you are starting EMACS and such...
    Also - make sure X11 is really listening on those ports : netstat -a | grep LISTEN and look for 6000 or whatever port/display you hope to connect to...
    P.S. Bill - sloth for a week on any update is sound policy!!! Why beta test if you don't have to It's much more comfortable just out of spitting distance from the bleeding edge and the view is usually just as nice.

  • Remote connection - error 10053,10054

    On my computer (WinXP En Prof SP2) I have installed SQL Express 2005 with instance name "SQL2005". Mixed Mode.
    I allowed Remote connection to this DB server, enabling TCP/IP protocol on port 1433.
    Also SQL Browser is set to autostart.
    My firewall is off.
    When I try to connect to this server through the CMDline, I use:
    sqlcmd -S testpc\sql2005 -U sa -P test
    I only get: "Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Native Client: Client unable to establish connection due to prelogin failure"
    If I use:
    sqlcmd -S testpc\sql2005 -U sa -P asdfghjkl (or any password)
    the result will be the same.
    If I try to connect to the server through the Management Studio, I just get:
    "A connection was succesfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: TCP Provider, error:0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10054)"
    or
    "A connection was succesfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: TCP Provider, error:0 - An established connection was aborted byt the software in your machine.)(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10053)"
    Next I have installed the new DB on new computer (WinXP En Prof SP2) with the same options (using unattended installation in CMD line) and on this computer it works. It means, that I can establish remote connections to that server with any problems.
    I have search on internet to solve this problem bud a I didn't find the solution. I found, that this error relates to winsock layer - WSAECONNABORTED(10053) and WSAECONNRESET(10054) error codes.
    But I still don't know, how to solve this and remotely connect to my DB Server...
    Thanks for your answers.
    Edit 1:
    I have tried to uninstall MS Net Framework 2.0, Microsoft SQL Native Client, Microsoft Support Files.
    When I try localy connect - it doesn't work, of course.
    When I try remotely connect:
    "sqlcmd -L" shows, that exists "testpc\sql2005"
    "sqlcmd -S testpc\sql2005 -U sa -P asdfghjkl" (or any password) generate the same Error as before - nothing changed
    Is it problem of MS SQL Server or MS Windows? How to solve this?

    When you performed the installation did you specify the SA password ?
    Did you also specify a windows account to be added to the sysadmin group ?
    Have you tried via management studio with a windows account to connect ?
    Have you confirmed that the SQL browser is started.
    Are you trying to connect locally or remotely ? As you have stated you installed SQL 2005 on your computer and you have allowed remote connections I am assuming that you can connect locally via SSMS.  You mention you have turned off the firewall. If
    you are connecting remotely have you disabled the firewall on both ?
