Testing some topological relationships causes 01331

Hi Dan,
Per your request, I post the following files/commands hoping you may recreate the problems I reported in my earlier post - Test EQUAL relationship causes 01331.
In a nutshell, some topological testing functions/operators fail at certain tolerance at which all geometry involved appears valid. These functions/operations work just fine with a smaller tolerance; however, our business process requires maintaining the higher tolerance. We are using version 8.1.7.
In the data set, the problem relationships are EQUAL, DISJOINT, TOUCH, and OVERLAPBDYINTERSECT.

Hi,
I was able to reproduce the problem in 8.1.7 only. It is fixed in 9.0.1.4/9.2.0.1.

    Log Message:
Fix failing security tests on BlazeDS/trunk by using a remote object to invalidate the FlexSession at the end of each test method which should cause each test method to run with a new/clean session. It looks like some test methods were leaving some things in a bad state which was causing the next test that ran to fail. These may be legitimate bugs/issues so we should investigate further to see what sequence of events gets things into a bad state but for these tests we want all of the test methods to run in isolation.

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

  • To check topological relationships in a GML SCHEMA

    hello ,
i had create a table with xml data with oracle 11g :
    create table state (gml_schema xmltype);
    select * from state;
    <State xmlns:gml="http://www.opengis.net/gml">
    <Name>Wilkopolska</Name>
    <Population>35000</Population>
    <gml:geometryProperty><gml:MultiPolygon srsName="SDO:"xmlns:gml="http://www.opengis.net/gml"> <gml:polygonMember> <gml:Polygon> <gml:outerBoundaryIs> <gml:LinearRing>
    <gml:coordinates decimal="." cs="," ts=" ">2.0,5.0 9.0,4.0 8.0,11.0 1.0,9.0 2.0,5.0 </gml:coordinates>...............................
now i need to know if we have a function that determine the name of topological relationship existing between
two geometries in a GML SCHEMA
    i know that we have
    sdo_geom.relate(StGeometry,’anyinteract’,:new.Geometry,0.005) =’TRUE’
but this function can onnly be used in a spatial table not in a GML SCHEMA
any answer could be helpfull thanks for your help,
    best regards,
    lama.

    Hi,-
i think this also answers your question in your previous thread titled as:
do we have a function that gives smilar answer to sdo_geom.relate in GML?

  • Testing  HTTP URL that causes a network problem

    Hi all,
I'm developping an applet for multiple unlimited files downloading using HttpConnection .
i want to implement the following feature :
In the case of an error occurring due to network problems during file download; the applet must be able to reconnect and resume the data transfer without downloading the entire file(s).
well i need to test this feature ; so i'm looking for some HTTP URL that can cause network probs so i can catch the error and retry connection etc...
can someone point me where to find such HTTP files for my test ?
    thanks.

    >
I can do this with FTP since it has commands to do
this but I don't know of any using HTTP unless one
uses a Servlet (or some other agent on the server) to
process a download request for a file starting at
    some offset.
Actually i did it only using HttpConnetion class and inputstream using some work arounds to keep track of the offset during download (actually i'm saving the offset to a temporary proprieties file that i'm reading again to get specific offset and resuming the download from last point)
That is one way. You could also use an HTTP 'tunnel'
that forwards all requests to an HTTP server but
within the 'tunnel' you could at random close the
connection.I will go for throwing exception manually ; but i'm curious to know how an HTTP tunnel works.
    thanks.

  • EJB CMR relationship causes SystemException

I have two CMP entities called Employee and Department. I created a one-to-many relationship between them so many employees can belong to a department. I also created
a new ejbCreate() method that accepts a value object containing the employee details and the PK of the relevant department to create them in, which is a Long.
In my ejbCreate() method I set the fields of the Employee entity
In the ejbPostCreate() method, I lookup the relevant Department local home (which works fine), but on the following line where I do a home.findByPrimaryKey() passing in the correct Long value identifiying an existing employee I get the following:
'SystemException  in the resource system.' is thrown during the execution of the findByPrimaryKey method, which causes a subsequent CreateException.
I've stepped through in the debugger but can't seem to find out the cause, and there is not much information from the message to follow up on.
    Can anyone suggest an answer?
I've attached the stack dump below, and you will notice I have replaced my findByPrimaryKey() with findByDepartmentName(..) to see if it affected the result, but it still fails with the same problem. I know findByDepartmentName(..) works OK as I have exposed it as a web service and it functions as expected.

    Hi Steve,
What is the SP number (or Patch Level) of your J2EE Engine?
Just a small hint: you can lookup the DepartmentLocalHome in the setEntityContext() method of EmployeeBean - this will boost performance as it'll be invoked only once per bean instance.
    Best regards,
    Vladimir

  • Front-End Loopback Test on Catalyst 2955 causes connected hardware to "die"

I have recently purchased a Cisco Catalyst model WS-2955C-12 switch. During POST (boot), the console reports that the switch undergoes what is known as a "FRONT-END LOOPBACK TEST". During this test the 14 port lights on the device light up amber for a moment, connectivity is lost, and after a second or two the lights go off and connectivity returns. We've found that the moment the lights go off at the end of this test, if we have a specific device (with a specific ethernet chip) directly connected to the switch the ethernet chip is adversely affected by this test - the device "goes dark" and is not capable of communicating with anything (including other switches, routers, etc...) until it is power-cycled. What exactly does this FRONT-END LOOPBACK TEST do, and what does it send across the wire that could be causing my ethernet chip onboard the device to go bonkers?
    Thanks!
    -Danny

Cisco IOS Release 12.1(22)EA1 runs on Catalyst 2955, Catalyst 2950, and Catalyst 2940 switches.

  • Some discussions here cause me to fear upgrading to Mavericks.

I have two Macs (iMac 24 inch early 2009 with 8 GB using Lion and MB Pro 16 inch with Retina using Mountain Lion).
I use a Western Digital I TB My Passport for Mac on my MB pro and a Time Capsule for backup on my iMac.
Some discussions here mention problems with external hard drives that seem serious enough to convince anyone to not upgrade. I understand that the people that don't have problems don't post here but perhaps they read here before upgrading. I want to upgrade but wonder if there is any place that I can find the actual percent of Mavericks users who are not having problems?

    MRBarrett27
.  But I wonder if this happens with all external HD or just some.
its happening with ALL external HD, I follow this issue closer than anyone.

This has nothing to do with mechanical drives mfg. by WD, nor the controller boards ON the HD.
A hard drive is a lifeless brick, all of them, variances to the data corruption issue here are central to:
A: Mavericks OS (causation still unknown in relation to B or otherwise).
B: software (WD software, known causation as WD has admitted to already).
Run this uninstaller and see if you have any WD software on your system:
Western Digital Software Unintaller released 11-4-2013
    For Mac
    WD Software Uninstaller
    File Name: WD_Software_Uninstaller_1_0_0_8.zip
All evidence currently (barring further investigation) points to:
A: WD control software (w/ Mavericks)
B: WD software cross-contamination in conjunction with Mavericks
C: Mavericks incapacity to deal with non-WD drives in excess of 2+ terabytes.
D: (and a minor sleep issue with external drives thru thunderbolt and firewire)
    E:  SPOTLIGHT in Mavericks **
Known high risk potentials reporting are -
    RAID
    partitioned drives
    2TB and higher drives
use of WD control software as resident on the computer regardless of WD drives or otherwise
,..increasing statistical examination of spotlight / finder as causative.
To be certain, the mechanical drive in and of itself (be it seagate, WD, toshiba or hitachi) is playing no causative role in the corruption, no would it sensibly.
I have tried to induce failure on nearly 20 drives, both partitioned and fake TM backup redundant copies (without the use of WD software) and cannot replicate it, oddly, with use of Mavericks on a macbook Air and Mac Mini
    petermac87
I would certainly uninstall any WD software you have installed.
That premise has been tested already many times, and is not a solution, .....alas

  • Some web pages causing 100% CPU use of iexplore.exe since Flash update

I'm having a problem with certain Amazon.com pages hanging my
Internet Explorer 6 using Flash Player 10,0,12,36, causing 100% CPU
use for iexplore.exe and requiring me to End Task to quit. All the
pages effected have an interactive mouseover Size and Color chart
that intially says "Loading" but then says "Select Size and Color"
once loaded. One mouseovers the various color patches and size
options, each time giving item availability in that option. When
the pages hang the IE browser with 100% CPU use that chart never
gets to the "Select Size and Color" point, instead stuck at the
"Loading" status. This happens most times, but not every time.
Sometimes the pages load correctly, after a brief lag as it loads
    the chart.
Amazon pages without this chart load fine.
The start of this problem coincides with updating Flash.
I can prevent the problem from happening almost every time if
I can quickly get my cursor into that chart area while the page
begins loading. If I allow the pages to load fully with no
interaction they will hang almost every time.
I have not noticed any problems on those same web pages using
    Firefox using Flash Player 9,0,124,0
I also have not noticed any issues with other sites using
Internet Explorer either. (YouTube, QVC, CNN...etc, all OK.)
I had posted for assistance on the Experts Exchange site and
there was some debate on whether the chart was a Java or
Flash-based chart, so initially it was being approached as a
possible Java issue, so I removed all Java versions on the system
and installed various versions, but the same problem persists.
I've downloaded but not run the Flash Uninstaller, as I'm
reluctant to uninstall the Firefox Flash version without knowing
for sure I could install 9,0,124,0 again.
I've downloaded an archived fp9_archive.zip, which seems to
indicate the contained files flashplayer9r124_winax.exe (Internet
Explorer) and flashplayer9r124_win.exe (Netscape) would be versions
9,0,124,0 to install after running the uninstaller.

thanksIt's not sure from your description exactly how/where/what columns are involved in the FK relationship. You either have no problem, or your problem is that you have two tables with the same PK, meaning you haven't normalized your design.
As suggested, post actual table defs, not just a vague description.

  • I got a letter stating some versions are causing problems. What am I suppose to do?

I received a long letter listing incompatibility issues caused by some FF plug ins. The letter is too long to post here.
Where do I post it if any where and what should I do about it?

Letter from who? And about what issues? And what plugins? More info is required to really offer an informed opinion.
You could post to your blog/website or to someplace like pastebin.com

  • Some input devices cause clipping (SB Liv

    Hi everyone,
I have a SoundBlaster Li've! and my problem is that input from my Yamaha P-80 digital piano causes a clipped output.
    * Only the piano causes this problem. Other inputs such as guitars, mics etc. are fine.
    * The problem subsides if I turn the volume on my piano down to almost minimum, but this means I then have to turn my speakers up almost to their maximum to get a good output volume.
    * The piano works absolutely fine on maximum volume, and any other volume, when connected directly to my speakers. This has also been tested on numerous PA systems, amps etc. The piano is absolutely fine with any other piece of hardware except the SB Li've!.
    * When there is a mixer between the piano and the soundcard, the problem still occurs. Other instruments connected through the mixer do not clip. The piano clips unless it is on a tiny level, at which point you can't hear it alongside the other instruments, so it is pointless doing that. We have tried sending the mixer output through a PA system and a Marshall amp, and hey presto the piano is fine again.
This topic has been brought up here: http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=7734 but wasn't answered.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

Have you connecterd the P-80 into SB Li've! through RCA or Jack connectors, found from P-80?
I suppose, using the path [RCA L/R]-->[Line-In] would be the better connection method, but have you tried both method?

  • One-to-one two sided relationship causing two outer joins.

We have a fairly simple one-to-one relationship between two objects A and
    B. A maps to table A, B maps to table B. A holds a foreign key to B. Both
classes hold a reference to each other.
What we are trying to achieve is to load both A and B with a single
intelligent SQL query. The only thing we can achieve is either two queries
or one query with two outer joins.
When both A and B have the other in the default fetch group and
EagerFetchMode set to join, Kodo dispatches is something like this:
    SELECT whatever FROM A t0 LEFT OUTER JOIN B t1 ON t0.B_ID = t1.ID LEFT
    OUTER JOIN A t2 ON t1.ID = t2.B_ID
The obvious problem with this is that is is going to be very innefficient.
    Isn't the second join needed?
If the eager fetch mode is kept the same but A is removed from the default
fetch group of B then we get two queries. The first one is a left outer
join between A and B and loads all the columns from both A and B. (At this
point in a debugger, A holds a reference to B, but B's reference to A is
null). The second query fetchs all columns from B. But still the reference
to A is null. It's only when we actually navigate to A from a B that the
reference is populated. (Luckily no query is executed at this point).
Is there anyway to achieve the loading of both objects with a single SQL
    query dispatched by Kodo?

You should be able to get what you want by querying for the B instance with A in
its default fetch group (but keeping B out of A's default fetch group). It
shoudl result in one query with a single outer join, and no additional queries
when you traverse the A.B relation.
The reason for the two joins/queries in other scenarios is that Kodo treats each
direction of the relation as a separate relation that has to be fetched on its
own. The reason the above solution should work is that when the A record is
read, the foreign key values for the B record are cached. When you traverse the
A.B relation after both A and B are loaded, Kodo matches these cached foreign
key values to the B instance in the PM cache and doesn't require a DB trip.
