TestStand crashes when a SequenceCall step that counts failures within a list

I have TestStand 4.0 and TestStand 4.1 installed on my system, as does everyone else in my department.  I am the only one with a 64bit machine and cannot execute a sequence in 4.0 that I can execute in 4.1.  Everyone else can execute the sequence in both.  The sequence generates a report and TestStand crashes when the sequence reaches a step that performs a sequence call which counts the number of failures within a list (array).
We are fresh out of ideas.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  If more information is needed, please ask.
Thanks!

When you say '64-bit machine' do you mean 64-bit Operating System?
If so, which 64-bit operating system are you using, XP x64 or Vista x64?
TestStand 4.0.1f1 is only supported on Windows 2000 and XP x86.
TestStand 4.1 is supported on Windows 2000, XP x86, Vista x86, and Vista x64.
If you are trying to use XP x64, we have not tested it, and it is not guaranteed to work in all cases.  If you are using Vista x64, then it is expected that TestStand 4.1 will work, but TestStand 4.0.1f1 was never tested with any version of Vista, and so may not work.

  • LabVIEW crashes when you run a VI that contains a mixed signal graph with a multi-plot cursor.

Hello, LV 8.2.1 notes indicates the following bug fix:
43SAIR2A  Fixed an issue where LabVIEW crashes when you run a VI that contains a mixed signal graph with a multi-plot cursor.
I am running this version, and still have this behavior.  Is there anything I may be missing, and/or certain circumstances that may still be causing this?
    thanks in advance,
    Darren

    Darren:
I looked at the CAR ID that you mentioned and the issue has been resolved in LabVIEW 8.2.1. To verify something similar, I ran the attached VI and things worked just fine. Please feel free to send me the steps to follow to reproduce the issue you are running into in 8.2.1.

  • Teststand crashes when unloading dll

I have crated a dll using Delphi.
When i try to "unload all modules" or close the sequence editor teststand crashes.
Can this be related to bug#189528?

    Hi Allan,
I can see in you sequence file that the Sequence sub-sequence contains a step that preloads TNBTools.dll. Is that the name of the dll you have developed?
What happens if you set the Load Option on the Action step to Preload when execution begins instead of Preload when opening sequence file and then try to run he main sequence and then unload modules? Another way to test this was to create a new sequence file that does not contain any form for reference to the TNBTools.dll at all.
I presume that the TNBTools.dll is the one you have developed in Delphi. If TestStand still crashes when you have done the above, are you willing to share the dll so I can test it out at my side?

  • Adobe Reader 9.x crashes when opening some pdf files that work fine with Adobe Reader 8.x

Adobe Reader 9 crashes when opening approximately 10% to 20% of the pdfs in my collection. The remaining 80% to 90% work without problems. The pdfs are launched by double-clicking the pdf file from Windows Explorer. The crashes occur with both v9.0 and v9.1. The pdfs that crash in v9.x work fine in older versions of Adobe Reader, such as v8.1.3. Furthermore, this behavior also occurs on all 3 virtual machine hosted on the same physical machine, with default Adobe Reader settings, for both v9.0 and v9.1. The virtual machines have little running in memory except standard Windows executables - i.e. they are fairly pristine. The operating systems for the virtual machines are XP SP3, XP SP2, and Windows Server 2003.
Error message info in all cases:
    app=acrord32.exe
    app version=9.1.0.163
    module=jp2klib.dll
    module version=2.0.0.2579
    offset=0003277d
Operating system for real computer: XP SP3
CPU: 1333 MHz Athlon single core
    RAM: 1 GB
To sum up, this problem happens on both a real computer running XP SP3, and also on all 3 virtual machines hosted on the same physical computer. I tried changing the Reader setting to not use hardware rendering, to no avail. I also tried various Data Execution Prevention settings in Windows, to no avail. All operating systems, the real and virtual ones, do not have problems with other programs that I use. I also tried a second machine with Adobe Reader v9.1 and the same exact problem pdfs, and had no issues. Thus, the problem happens on only one of the computers, but on the real and 3 virtual operating systems on that machine. There were no errors reported during any of the Reader installations. The virtual machines had no prior versions of Reader prior to Reader installation.

    I did further testing of 10 single page pdf files which I created from a single book. All 5 pdf files with images crashed in Reader v9.1. 0 of the 5 pdf files without images crashed in Reader v9.1. Reader v8.1.4 crashes on none of the 10 pdfs. Note that the crash always occurs in jp2klib.dll, which according to the file property description is 'JPEG2000 Core Library', which deals with images. So it seems the issue is in Adobe's jp2klib.dll, in combination with the hardware/software that I have. I used Microsoft's DirectX Diagnostic Tool to test DirectX, including visual tests of DirectDraw and Direct3D - everything worked as expected with no issues detected.<br /><br />Some information about my hardware:<br />Display drivers=Nvidia v84.21<br />Video card=GeForce FX 5200 with 128 MB RAM<br />CPU=AMD Athlon (single core)<br />System RAM=1024 MB in 3 DIMMs<br /><br />Further information about my hardware: (from the program System Information for Windows)<br /><br />Motherboard:<br />Manufacturer=ASUSTeK Computer INC.<br />Model=<A7V133><br />Version=REV 1.xx<br />Chipset Vendor=VIA Technologies Inc<br />Chipset Model=VT8363/5 KT133/KM133 System Controller<br />South Bridge=82C686B PCI to ISA Bridge<br />CPU=AMD Athlon<br />Cpu Socket=Slot A / Socket A [SOCKET A]<br />System Slots=5 PCI, 1 AGP<br />OnBoard devices=<unknown> (Disabled) Promise PDC20265<br />     <br />Memory Summary:<br />Location=System board or motherboard<br />Maximum Capacity=1536 MBytes<br />Memory Slots=3<br />Error Correction=None<br />Use=System memory<br /><br />CPU Info:<br />Number of CPU(s)=One Physical Processor / One Core / One Logical Processor<br />Vendor=AuthenticAMD<br />CPU Full Name=AMD Athlon<br />CPU Name=AMD Athlon(tm) Processor<br />CPU Code Name=Thunderbird<br />Technology=0.18µ<br />Platform Name=Slot A / Socket A<br />Type=Original OEM processor<br />FSB Mode=DDR<br />Type ID=0<br />CPU Clock=1323.68<br />L2 Cache Speed=1323.68 MHz<br />L2 Cache Speed=Full<br />CPU Family / Model / Stepping=6 / 4 / 4<br />L1 I-Cache=64 KB<br />L1 D-Cache=64 KB<br />L2 Cache=256 KB<br />RDMSR=00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000<br />MMX=Yes<br />MMX+=Yes<br />SSE=No<br />SSE2=No<br />SSE3=No<br />SSE4A=No<br />3DNow!=Yes<br />3DNow!+=Yes<br />DualCore=No<br />HyperThreading=No<br />AMD64=No<br />NX=No<br />VT=No<br />PowerNow!=No<br />LongHaul=No<br />LongRun=No<br />Architecture=x86<br /><br />Video:<br />AdapterCompatibility=NVIDIA<br />AdapterDACType=Integrated RAMDAC<br />AdapterRAM=128 MBytes<br />Availability=3<br />Caption=NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200<br />ConfigManagerErrorCode=0<br />ConfigManagerUserConfig=false<br />CurrentBitsPerPixel=32<br />CurrentHorizontalResolution=1280<br />CurrentNumberOfColors=4294967296<br />CurrentNumberOfColumns=0<br />CurrentNumberOfRows=0<br />CurrentRefreshRate=60<br />CurrentScanMode=4<br />CurrentVerticalResolution=1024<br />Description=NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200<br />DeviceID=VideoController1<br />DeviceSpecificPens=-1<br />DriverDate=20060309212900.000000-000<br />DriverVersion=6.14.10.8421<br />InfFilename=oem6.inf<br />InfSection=nv4_NV3x<br />InstalledDisplayDrivers=nv4_disp.dll<br />MaxRefreshRate=75<br />MinRefreshRate=60<br />Monochrome=false<br />Name=NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200<br />NumberOfColorPlanes=1<br />PNPDeviceID=PCI\VEN_10DEDEV_0322SUBSYS_91101462REV_A1\49AEDED500008<br />Status=OK<br />VideoArchitecture=5<br />VideoMemoryType=2<br />VideoModeDescription=1280 x 1024 x 4294967296 colors<br />VideoProcessor=GeForce FX 5200<br />BitsPerPel=32<br />DeviceName=NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200<br />DisplayFlags=0<br />DisplayFrequency=60<br />LogPixels=96<br />PelsHeight=1024<br />PelsWidth=1280<br />SettingID=NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200<br />SpecificationVersion=1025<br />BitsPerPixel=32<br />ColorPlanes=1<br />DeviceEntriesInAColorTable=-1<br />HorizontalResolution=1280<br />RefreshRate=60<br />VerticalResolution=1024<br />VideoMode=1280 by 1024 pixels, True Color, 60 Hertz<br />Video Bios Version=Version 4.34.20.22.00 <br />Video Bios Date=04/28/03<br />Name=GeForce FX 5200<br />Chip Type=GeForce FX 5200<br />DAC Type=Integrated RAMDAC<br />Memory=128 MBytes<br /><br />BIOS:<br />BIOS Version=ASUS   - 30303031, Award Medallion BIOS v6.0, Award Plug and Play BIOS Extension v1.0A, Award Modular BIOS v6.0<br />BIOS Date=04/23/02<br />BIOS Web Page=http://www.award.com<br />BIOS Vendor=Award Software, Inc.<br />Version=ASUS A7V-133 ACPI BIOS Revision 1009<br />Release=04/23/2002<br />BIOS Size=256 KB<br /><br />Memory:<br />Location=System board or motherboard<br />Maximum Capacity=1536 MBytes<br />Memory Slots=3<br />Error Correction=None<br />Use=System memory<br />Maximum Memory Module Size=1024 MBytes<br />Device Set=DIMM 1<br />Device Locator=DIMM 1<br />Capacity=256 MBytes<br />Memory Type=Synchronous DRAM<br />Data Width=64 bits<br />Form Factor=DIMM<br />Total Width=72 bits<br />Device Locator=DIMM 2<br />Capacity=256 MBytes<br />Memory Type=Synchronous DRAM<br />Data Width=64 bits<br />Form Factor=DIMM<br />Total Width=72 bits<br />Device Locator=DIMM 3<br />Capacity=512 MBytes<br />Memory Type=Synchronous DRAM<br />Data Width=64 bits<br />Form Factor=DIMM<br />Total Width=72 bits

  • Aperture crashing when editing .. what's that all about?

I am still using Apeture 2.1.4 and ever since loading Maverick it keep crashing  when I edit!!

It is high time to update to Aperture 3.
Aperture 2 did not even work reliable with Lion - the brushes and the loupe never worked reliably. The only Aperture version, that fully supports Mavericks, is Aperture 3.5.
I don't expect, that any updates will ever be available to support Aperture 2 with Mavericks.
But check with the manufacturers, if you are using any Aperture plug-ins, that need updating; also check, if you have any software installed, that may have added 32-bit kernel extensions. Those might be causing crashes.

  • PSE crashes when using a "close"-Step in Action Player

    Hello,
i've create an action in my regular Photoshop, which includes a step where the picture is closed without saving the changes.
When i run this action in the PSE action player it will complete every step, but the PSE application crashes at the end.
Without the closing step in the action-set, there is no problem.
I have tried PSE 9 and 10 on different computers (all XP SP3) and i have create the same action in PS CS3, CS5 and CS 5.5 as a source.
Always the same crash at the end.
Does anyone have the same problem or even knows a solution?
    Thanks a lot,
    elektrosmogjunkie

First of all, I've started looking into scripting PSE all of two days ago and don't have a funcitoning PS to use as a test, so take my comments for what they're worth:
I understand you're talking about an action, but from what I understand from the PS scripting reference there needs to be a "policy" specified for closing a document from a script -- specifying the SaveOptions (save changes, don't save changes, prompt to save changes) to the Document.close() method.
I suspect that your recorded action doesn't have your answer to the "Save changes?" prompt window in the recorded steps.  If you can't somehow get the "Don't save" option into your action, you might want to try re-creating the action as a script (where you can specify the SaveOption).

  • Firefox 8 crashes when clicking on a link that has a very long URL address

I use Windows 7. I have crashes only with links that have a very long URL address, e.g.
    http://b.bm324.com/public/?q=ulink&fn=Link&ssid=10573&id=50hf3f24ltqgsgf2l342rz7tdtugj&id2=4m0o6e8hmn9bixohu56j29j2ah0bf&subscriber_id=aiblbktoaociiexqfdaqifnfacgubpl&delivery_id=adspyssufmivdxikgbynsteprrknbpj&tid=3.KU0.Bp_cqw.CXq9.MPvF..UDBh.b..l.ApvV.a.Tr8LdQ.Tr8LdQ.-KHXEw

No, I am not using the Trend Micro toolbar. After much trial and error, I discovered that Firefor 8 crashes only when I click on the the long URL when Firefox is not running. When I start Firefox before I click on the long URL, Firefox does not crash

  • Finder crashes when "looking for networks" - workaround that helps

I've read through most of the messages about finder crashes, but what's going on in my case I haven't seen. As I have a work around, I thought I should post.
If for whatever reason the wireless connection pauses or gets interrupted (for example, by closing the lid), the finder hangs in the process of "looking for networks."  Most of the time I can still pull up the dock -- the spinning beach ball only clicks in if I mouse over the top menu bar. Sometimes (but not always) I can quit open applications through the dock before I have to do a hard reset.
My workaround is this: I turn wi-fi off before I close the lid. When I open the lid, I wait a short time -- 30 seconds, about -- and turn the wireless back on, and this way I can avoid the finder crashing.  If the wi-fi pauses for some other external reason, when "looking for networks" starts up, the finder will hang again.
It's way past  time that Apple coughs up a permanent fix, but this might help somebody who's having the same problem.  And maybe somebody has a better workaround, in which case, I'd love to hear about it.

    1. Going into a folder on my external hard drive that contains the installer for divx for mac.
Divx has been a source of problems with both Tiger & Leopard. See for example Mac OS X 10.5: Finder may not fully "load". If you have installed it, it is probably at least part of your problem.
then i erased the whole thing, and used the Mac OS X 10.5 install DVD that came with my mom's iMac (still happens)
This is not recommended. The install disks that come with specific Mac models do not necessarily install the same things or do all the error checks that the retail Leopard installer disk does. (It is also a violation of the software license to install it on another Mac.) If you want a trouble-free, supported installation of Leopard, use only the retail installer or a disk specifically intended for your exact Mac model.

  • Photoshop CC crash when using Nik Collection

I have been using Lightroom 5 and Nik Collections plugins successfully for a while and just got Photoshop CC.
Unfortunately Photoshop CC crash when I save my work that I have done in ColorEfex Pro 4 or SilverEfex Pro 2.
The other plugins in the Nik Collection works fine, I work with TIFF and layers. My work flow is that I do some basic work in Lightroom then "Edit in...PS". From PS I use the Nik plugins, normally I'd do Dfine, Sharpner and then SilverEfex or ColorEfex. The crash happens when I get back to PS after saving my work and that last layer is never created and all my work is lost.
I would be grateful for any help. Below is the data from my system. Thanks !

The solution in my case when I posted this was to contact Google who sent me files that disabled the GPU, updating the driver didn't do the trick. The crashes stopped when the GPU was disabled but Nik was painfully slow.
No I have a new machine with a more powerful GPU and everything worked fine for a while then Colour Efex started to crash when I opened it in PS. Google gave me a link to AMD where I got the latest driver and now I think it's working again, I'm not sure because I have not done much work lately.
Bottom line....Nik seems to require a pretty powerful machine both when it comes to RAM and GPU.
    Good luck !

I have the latest OS 10.8.3 and just recently Mail and Preview constantly crashes when printing.
It seems that it is missing a plug in or something.  Error messge is Mail quit unexpectedly when using the est-e-Filing-pdes plugin.

Actually I have experience more crashing (with Numbers) since last update.
    Can anyone help?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Firefox consistently crashes when loading Flash sites

For a couple of reasons I decided to go ahead and install OSS a few days ago.  On the first day, the install went smoothly and everything was working just as it should (I used the oss-linux-free PKGBUILD in AUR).  Yesterday and today, however, I've started to get a reoccurring problem that is, to put it lightly, driving me nuts.
Firefox (or Epiphany, though I prefer the former) consistently crashes when opening up any site that uses Flash or Java.  With the way the internet is going, this is a large chunk of websites—not being able to visit YouTube or the website for Enemy Territory: Quake wars, for instance, is driving me nuts.
Now, when I say "consistently" I don't mean each and every time.  I've been able to get these sites to load a number of times, but in the last two days Firefox has crashed in probably 2/3-3/4 of the time when loading any site that has a Flash element.  I've made sure that I have not wrongly assumed this has to do with my newly installed OSS by uninstalling, reinstalling the kernel and all ALSA packages, rebooting, and then surfing the web for a while to see if anything went wrong.  It didn't.
So my question is this: why is Firefox crashing so often in the two days since I've installed OSS?  What can be done to rectify this?
After some experimenting, it seems the problem is worst under the following conditions:
    - Having several tabs open, though not necessarily several tabs with Flash
    - Listening to music and THEN navigating to YouTube or something.
However, it's not specific to these circumstances.  In fact, just before I decided to make this post I opened Firefox, went to a site with Flash on it (one tab), and it immediately shut down.  I tried this three or four additional times and was met with the exact same results.
    Other info
    Firefox: Pre-compiled Mozilla i686 build, v. 2.0.0.11
OSS: OSS (GPL version) 4.0, build 1012
    Operating System: Arch Linux 2.6.23-ARCH
    I've also posted this here.

I have the same problem. I've never been able to identify when it started. Once firefox crashes, mpd, if it was playing, becomes unresponsive. The only way to get a flash site working again is to reboot my computer.
I uninstalled flash: I'm not going to put up with that kind of behaviour. Now I watch youtube videos on other people's computers --you know how they say "You've GOT to see this movie!". And if I really need to see that one specific video, there's youtube-dl.
Unfortunately gnash doesn't work on youtube for me.

  • Is there a way to prevent Adobe from crashing when ocring multiple documents?

I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard.  I am trying to OCR multiple documents, Adobe crashes when it hits a document that cannot be OCR'd. How can I prevent Adobe from crashing and to skip that document and continue the OCR'ing process with the next document in the list?

  • Premiere Pro CS5 crashing when exporting (only certain file types)

    Hi
I have found that when I try and export media in Premiere Pro CS5, it often crashes during the export. It says
It's only certain file types. For instance, Vimeo HD seems okay but Vimeo SD always crashes mid-export. MPEG is okay too, but MPEG2-DVD always crashes.
Sometimes it says this: "Error Compiling Movie - Unknown Error" but doesn't throw me out of Premiere altogether.
Other times it crashes altogether and Windows gives me this error message: "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 258.96 stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Premiere Pro then stops responding so I have to re-open it and start exporting again.
I have checked there are no gaps in my timeline and I have rendered the whole work area. Besides, I doubt it's anything that I'm doing wrong with the project itself because it's exporting fine in some formats.
I am also experiencing random crashes when editing too. Not that often, but occasionally it throws me out - and twice it has made the whole screen go crazy, with weird dotting across the screen (it's scary, it looks like the monitor itself has broken!).
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Nick
PS I have a pretty decent new PC - Dell Studio XPS, 8GB, 2x1TB drives, etc. Premiere itself is working great, except for these crashes.

Some drivers do not work well in some systems... so go to nVidia and try a different (usually newer) driver for your card
These notes are for Encore, but they MAY also work in Premiere
