Teststand save execution for later run

I have a requirement to be able to save an execution for a later run.  The sequence of events is:  Run a test, pause, shutdown the system, open the execution later and run from the last state.  Is this possible to do programmatically in TestStand?

Hi AK,
Sorry for the poor description....
I am working on a documentation in German and English.
I used a new access database, the TestStand database logs the enters with an ID as Primary key, not the UUT Serial....
My Database has the UUT Serial number as Primary key and a column "CURRENT_STEP" that contains the StepIndex of the last Step....
On the Startup you've got to read the database... If the "CURRENT_STEP" = 0 -> start from the beginning,   if not -> set
  RunState.StepGroup = "Main",
  RunState.NextStepIndex = FileGlobals.ABORT_STEP
I hope the documentation is finished on Monday, it should help you....
But I can't guarantee, that the English version is free of misspellings.....
But it contains many Screenshots
Givin´ um something to Rock´n´Roll about

  • When TestStand ABORTs execution for some reason, still clean up should executed

I have few steps in Clean up part in my sequence, when there is any error in my main sequence and if the tester selects ABORT instead of Run clean up, then the clean up steps does not execute. I want to disable ABORT option or even when the ABORT is selected, still the cleanup steps should get executed.
Please let me know the option to do it.
    Thanks

    Teranet,
As the TestStand help mentiones the Abort method does not call the cleanup section, but we can use the Terminate which will stop and allow for cleanup.  I would recommend using that function instead.  In order to help further we would need to know more about how you are calling the Abort function currently (dialog, button, in a UI or the Sequence Editor, etc).

  • Which vi ist best to save data for later usage in GNU R?

    Hi,
I want to save values of several instuments every 10 ms into a file (mydata.csv) and evaluate the data with GNU R.
GNU R can read .csv files and use first line as names and # lines as comment.
    mydata.csv should look like this:
    # Date: 2002-12-23
    # Voltage of ABC
    # Comment: Used new probes
    time, TAB voltage, TAB temperature
    12, TAB 23, TAB 43
    34, TAB 43, TAB 556
is there a vi that can create such file?
    ================================
    system: Win7 and debian stable

You can use the Write to Spreadsheet File or the lower level Write to Text File.

  • Create and save boolean expressions for later evaluation

Is it possible to create Boolean expressions by inputs via user interface in LabVIEW and save them for later evaluation? I am interested in creating a 'flexible policy engine' which involves creating 'rules' comprising attribute values of certain attributes of objects based on boolean expressions which can later be used for arriving at some decisions based on the 'rules'.

    Hi Belur,
Have you considered building a script based on the boolean expressions that you want to create for the flexible policy and saving the script to file?
Later, you can read the script and depending on the policy, it can re-create the boolean expressions.
A simple way to implement this is by having various pre-defined expressions places into a Case Statement. The script calls the appropriate cases that create the complete expression.
You can store the attributes of the objects and when the vi is running, it can first open the initialization file, read the attributes and set them.
For instance, you can read from and write to Property (and Invoke Nodes) to which you can the attributes.
Unfortunately, I don't have an example of this that I c
an share with you. There may be some if you do a search.
    Hope this helps..

  • How can I save a named filter and sorting for later use?

I regularly do several different complex filtering and sorting on large tables. I did not find a way to save them for later one-click reuse. So I always have to do it again, which is time-consuming and error-prone. Hoped to get a solution by AppleScript, but filter and sort is not accessible by scripting.
Is there a way or does Apple have it on it´s agenda for future versions of Numbers?

    Hi Jan,
filter and sort is not accessible by scripting.
There is some support for sort (and less for filter) in Numbers 3.
    Table has a filtered property.
    And you can sort.
A sort example can be found at https://iworkautomation.com/numbers/table-sort.html.
Not sure if this will be sufficient to handle your needs, but just wanted to point out there is some scripting support.

  • If i have "saved my tabs for later", how do i recover them during a later session?

with several tabs open, i chose "save tabs for later". i then quit firefox, and did not "restore the previous session" when i opened it next. i have now opened firefox again, and would like to restore the tabs that i had previously saved. how do i do that?
i am using firefox 6.0.1 on a mac with os 10.6.8.
    thanks.

I guess when you update to 6.0.1 it defaults to "clear browser history" every time you exit. So if you have it set to save your session it will give you the option when you quit, but end up clearing your history, so it won't be able to restore it.
    1. First go to Tools>Options
    2. Privacy>History
Here there will be History options, Select "Use custom settings for history"
    3. Make sure "clear history when Firefox closes" is UNChecked
I am using Windows, so the commands may be different.

  • Created effect on clip in timeline. Want to save it for use later..

I realize I can't drag a clip from the Timeline into the Event Library. So frustrating. So how do I go about setting that clip aside with the effects I have applied so I can use it later in various places in my timeline. I don't want it in the timeline now. I want to use it later with the effects I have created, or is that not possible?

I can't seem to do any of that in the event library. As far as I can tell, I can only add effects to clips in the timeline.  I have the clip in the timeline and I have created effects. Now I want to remove it from the timeline and not lose the time I have spent creating those effects. I don't want it cluttering up my timeline and I don't want to have to redo all the effects. Is there no way to do this? I'm assuming not.  I did find that I could create another event and copy/paste a clip into the event and "save" for later use that way, which seems a really lousy kludge.
If I'm correct that there is no way to save a clip from the timeline for later use, do you think this is just a temporary failing or just part of the way FCPx will always work. I am continuing to explore how FCPX deals with editing and playing with unimportant footage and keep hitting walls like this. I try to figure out if it's just a paradigm shift I need to make but things like this and the inability to copy/paste attributes and such just make me crazy. I'm working hard to move from the unsupported FCPStudio and I know that Premiere will have its own "make me crazy" issues but these limitations as compared to FCP Studio are really frustrating and I just can't tell when I run into problems that will be addressed in a .X release vs problems that are simply "how it's always going to work in FCPX".

    1) i have created the one taskflow. in taskflow i have one jsff page and it has one datacontrol (created viewobject and draged it in jsff. where i have some inputtext box).
    2) i have added following entries in the adf-config.xml file...
    <adfc-controller-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/config">
    <savepoint-datasource>jdbc/scottDS</savepoint-datasource>

    3) what i want to achieve is restore the values entered by the user if he closes the form without saving data.

  • Is there a way to save print job for later?

Is there a way to have print jobs saved for a later date/time? The only solution I can think of is to save the document/web page/file to a folder (e.g., "print later"). However, I'd rather just be able to hit print and in the print dialogue "send" the job to a print queue that I can open later.
For the curious, there are two often reoccuring situations where I want to save a print job for later: 1) I work late at night when my family is asleep and my house is not large enough to avoid disturbing their sleep by printing; and 2) I need to print out a 50+ page work document and I don't want to use my home computer to do it.
I'll appreciate whatever tips, recommendations, thoughts I get.

the method mentioned by benwiggy will certainly work.  If you want to an option that would give you more options, you could use a PDF Service.  You could then put a specific job on hold while still allowing others to use the printer.
You can do this by opening AppleScript Editor (/Applications/Utilities).  You can copy and paste the following into an editor window --
    on open printJobs
    tell application "Finder"
set trapFile to quoted form of POSIX path of (printJobs as string)
    end tell
set defaultPrinter to do shell script "lpstat -d | awk -F: '{print $2}'"
    do shell script "lpr -P" & defaultPrinter & " -q " & trapFile
    end open
Save the file as an Application.  You can name it something like Hold Print Job.  Then just put it in the PDF Services directory in the Library directory of your Home folder <yourname>/Library/PDF Services.  You may need to make the PDF Services directory as it may not already be there.
Once the file is in place, you can use it by using the PDF drop down menu at the bottom left of a print window.  That will send the file to the printer and put it on hold.  Others can still use the printer.  You can then print your file whenever you want.  Just open the print queue as mentioned by benwiggy.  Highlight the job that is Paused.  You will see a little curly icon at the very right (looks like a reload icon in a web browser).  Just click that icon and the job will start printing.

If not, buy an iWork 09 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.

  • Distributing 'save for later' distribution pdf forms

I have created a _pub_ pdf form and corresponding data_set file for their collection. Things seem to work IF the person receiving them understands to use Acrobat or Reader to fill the form and not Apple Preview for example.
When the form was originally 'distributed' the options asked if I wanted to distribute now or save for later. I chose later and I need to send out in waves or individually.
The issue I assume is giving me the trouble now, is that I am 'attaching' the _pub_ file in an email, which does not deliver it with instructions.
How do I distribute it without recreating / saving the file with the 'distribute form' function - and risk having to recreate a new data_set each time, or breaking the links to the data_set?
The 'save for later' should leave me with a way to send them?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Using RH10 - what's the easiest way to create and save HTML code as a snippet for later re-use?

I am using RH10 to maintain and update several WebHelp projects for customer-facing Internet applications. I am noticing inconsistencies in css and html so I would like to create several snippets for later re-use.  My wishlist, so far:  FAQ page with internal bookmarks, product image with table of callouts, and basic page template with corporate header and footer. What's the easiest way to save / export a page that I want to use later as a snippet? Thank you.

Have you thought about using the Resource Manager?

  • Save for later option in Global Creation

I have a business case where the user needs to save the form that he is completing for later completion. This has to happen only in the Global Creation activity. Since the instance is not created, how can I store information in ALBPM other than in the database and retrieve it when the user tries to initiate and refill the same form ?
Is there a way to do it in ALBPM where one can identify this SAVE FOR LATER request and re-open the form for completing it later?

    Hi,
You can have an activity after the begin with similar form as the global creation activity and make this activity reachable when the user clicks on the 'Save for Later' button (using conditional transition right after the begin)
in this way, if the user decides to submit then...it will go the standard way ...but if clicks on the Save, data will be stored and the activity will be waiting for
the user in his or her inbox.
The bad thing here is that anytime, we save for later, an instance is created...
    Hope this helps
    Saleh
