Updating value in Database

Is there any way to update user attribute in Database with the help of Java code?
If yes, please suggest some way.
I can do it with updateUser API but it is calling Xellerate Provisioning process that i don't want bcoz of some requirement.
I want to use my own Java code to update User's First name in Database. Please suggest how can i do it?

Update value in database(access-connectivity toolset )

Hello,
I am using the database connectivity toolset and I am trying to change values of an existing database.
I used the "Update" command but i got an ERROR!!!.
"Exception occured in Microsoft JET Database Engine, Syntax error in UPDATE statement.. in Conn Execute.vi->...."????
What to do???

The shearch statement (after Where) shud be anather field than the field you are trying to change.
I am using defoult value on cursor type with sucsess.

How to edit/update values in database?

hello!
i can't get the right syntax for code in updating a profile. i have tried to browse some e-books but all of the examples there are direct. meaning they have direct values. my condition is this, i have to update the contents ( e.g., username, password, name, address, contact no, email ad) of a particular user that is currently logged in.
the names of the two tables where i save the values are: userprofile and useraccounts
this is the code that i am currently editing right now.

rs = statement.executeQuery("UPDATE userprofile SET name= where username = """);You should use executeQuery for "selects" and executeUpdate() for DML operations like insert ,updates, delete as depicted in jgalacambra's example.
Also a PreparedStatement is pre-compiled so will perform faster than a Statement.
Take care to close objects for PreparedStatement, Connection in the finally block. Exception occurence in the middle of code may cause connection leaks ..so your finally block will ensure that these are mandatorily closed.
Do refer tutorials with ready to execute examples. It would give you insight how to code the right way else you might end up posting each problem on this forum.

I am creating an ALV application in weddynpro abap where i have given update button to update fields & save button to save values in mastertable,but whenever i am updating & saving ,it will overwrit previous values. For this,I need to create a separate method to save the updated values of the fields in a new database table.

u declared the field Item_Dates as Stru_Issuesal-DATES
and u were trying to inesrting the record in the table ZTAB_CS_ISSSAL with the field Item_Dates
the error is related to the compatible.
so declare work area for updating the table should be of type ZTAB_CS_ISSSAL.

Update array value into database

Hi, I would like to enquire if there is any way to update an array in the database.
As an example, i have an array which contain the value of the operating hour. I am able to insert the array value successfully into the database. Now i have problem to update the database, for these arrays.
Any suggestion will be very much appreciated.

APEX-The manullay created column is not getting updated in the database

Dear all
I have a form on page, which is created along with a report using Form on a Table with Report option. From the form I have deleted one field and recreated manullay as set the property as database column. When I am calling from the report page (using defualt edit option) the value is showing there, but if I am 'Apply Changes' , the column value in database is get updated with null.

,FaxNumber)"+ "values(because it's equal to ,FaxNumber)values(and your SQL server won't understand it, put a whitespace between.

Help with UPDATE table and database RELATIONSHIPS

HI there, I have been trying to create an update table for
weeks now and keep getting error messages.
The database has a table named:
"books" in the table cells are "idbook" and "book".
"suppliers" in the table cells are "idsupplier" and
"supplierName".
"category" in the table cells are "idcategory" and
categoryName"
They all have a relationships with this table:
"results" in the cells are "idbook", "idsupplier" and
"idcategory".
This "results" table brings all of the above tables together.
When I try to do an update, i am doing one to the results
table. Is this correct?
The updates have problems because when drawing the text to
the update table to view it comes in text form.
When trying to update, it wont becuase all of the cells in
the results table are numeric. This is because of the
relationships.
Can anyone suggest where i may be going wrong.

Efficient way of updating data to database table

what is the efficient way of updating data to database table .
i have huge amount of data in my internal table , how to use update statement in this case .
1. database table having 20 fields ,
2. one is key field and suppose 20 th field i want to change .
3. I have data for only 2 fields , i.e for ( 1 st and last 20 th field ) .
i can't use update statement in loop , as it is not good practice(hits database several times ) .
do it effects all the 20 fields for particular record .

Updating or inserting database problem

Hi,
I have a problem when i try to insert or update records within database from java, i m using ms access.
I can retrive the data from the table but when i insert or update it , the code executes without any error but has no effect on the table.
I would be thankful if u guyz help me out .

my coding was that statment s variable is used with to different
sql queries ,
when i used s variable with a single query the base table was affected with the coding changes.

How to populate formbean with ONLY updated values?

Is there a way to populate the formbean with ONLY updated values in Java Struts?
Ex: Out of 50 fields displayed on GUI, If lets say user modifies 20 fields, I need to capture only those 20 fields into the form bean.
The reason i am looking for such function is to avoid the overhead of updating all the 50 fields into the database everytime even if one field is modified.

Normally, you update the entire record if one of the fields is changed. However, if you display more than one record, only those records have have changed should be updated. The reason you dont update all records is because if the performance hit on updating records that didn't change, among other things (see optimistic conurrency topic at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb399373.aspx)
I don't think you should bother coding to only capture those fields that have changed in one record. It complicates your code and makes it difficult to read. Also, performance gain on not reading unchanged fields is offset by performance loss on the logic to manage such a task. Also, your update sql statement will be overly complicated and will have to be dynamically built rather than a single simple update sql statement that updates all fields.

With ECC 6.00 (SP10) , assuming that the Webdynpro and Adobe Interactive Forms has been correctly setup, can values on an Adobe Form be updated after retrieval from the back-end database?
Updating of UI elements NOT on the Adobe Form has always worked; but, there it is unclear if the problem to update values inside the Adobe Form has been resolved.
Can anyone address this issue with a detailed explanation or example code?

Can you please, open a customer message in the BC-SRV-FP queue and please, provide your landscape component info, i.e., ECC 6.00(SPS10), AS Java SPS?.
