Text/css not working on www

I am using on a pc: reamweaver mx 2004. I have created on all
pages the font, links and headings styoles with page properties
which obviuosly shows up within
. When browsed by
others, these settings are not stable. What do I do to make them
uniformly set throughout viewers of website, for instance:
www.callerealcenter.com/directions.htm
Help
Thanks

All those styles in the head of the document should really go
into an
external stylesheet and then linked to in the head of the
document. You
should also not create the styles via the property inspector,
they should be
created using the css editor. Hence the reason you are seeing
things like
style12 {styles go here;}... style12 could mean anything -
you should give
them specific class names.. eg: .header {styles goe here;}
To get a page to look good on different platforms and
browsers it is best to
write valid code. Your page fails validation - because you
are using
invalid and decrepated markup.
This link will show you the validation errors for your page:
http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.callerealcenter.com%2Fdirecti ons.htm
These links may help towards understanding working with a
stylesheet:

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/css.html
At the moment, the top section of your page is breaking in
Firefox, but
looks ok in IE7.

• TEXT-INDENT NOT WORKING

Hi!
Please see the below CSS code, why isn't the text-indent not
working? everything else is?
a.quick_link_buttons:link {
color : #004489;
font-family : Myriad, Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;
font-size : 12px;
text-indent : 10px;
line-height : 20px;
text-decoration : none;
font-style : normal;
font-weight : normal;
a.quick_link_buttons:hover {
color : #004489;
font-family : Myriad, Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;
font-size : 12px;
text-indent : 10px;
line-height : 20px;
text-decoration : underline;
font-style : normal;
font-weight : normal;
Many Thanks!

You don't need to respecify styles that will inherit or
default styles. You
could achieve the same styles with the following -
a.quick_link_buttons {
color : #004489;
font-family : Myriad, Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;
font-size : 12px;
text-indent : 10px;
line-height : 20px;
text-decoration : none;
a.quick_link_buttons:hover {
text-decoration : underline;
As for why the indent isn't working, try 'padding-left:10px;'
instead, when
applied to the inline element. Or, you can have a rule that
will apply to
the container for these links, e.g.,

whatever

My voice to text is not working? How can I fix it? I have an iPhone 5. Thx!!

• TouchUp Text Tool not working?

I have Max OS X 10.4, Acrobat 8.1.2 and cannot get the TouchUp Text Tool to work? Can select text and delete/copy/paste etc but cannot add/change/modify any text from the keyboard? All keyboard text keys not working or changing data?
Was using Acrobat 7 and it worked great, however this version is just not cooperating.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Ron

I talked to a very helpful person at Adobe Acrobat Tech support yesterday (Tony) and I *think* I have the problem resolved. [BTW, I don't see any definite mentions to this here: during this problem I was able to delete (using either of the delete keys) text and I was able to hit 'return' to get to a new line - while using the touch-up text tool. Also, I was able to create a new blank document and type in next fine too.]
After troubleshooting all the possible causes with Tech support (including manually trashing all the /user/library/preferences/acrobat (folder) and all the com.adobe.acrobat ..(8) preferences in the /user/library/preferences folder - and after reinstalling Acrobat 8 - the issue still wasn't fixed. I called back Tech Support and got the same person (Tony) and with him still on phone, I created a new user on my Mac -- recreated the text touch-up tool problem and Acrobat 8 worked just like it was supposed to do. -- so ... the problem was in my 'old' user account & probably a font problem.
Tony the Tech transfered me over to a Font Tech at Adobe (who was a rude, nasty s-o-b who barely spent 2 minutes with the problem, but that's IMHO) who told me the only resolution, since in his opinion I had a corrupted User account, was to trash my current User account on my system and start fresh -- no alternative! Since that wasn't acceptable to me, and since the Font Tech could or would not give me a straight answer about transferring fonts from my User/Library/Fonts to the computer (root, not system) /Library/Fonts and working on Acrobat that way .... or fixing any font problems in my current /user/fonts -- ..... I hung up the phone and resolved to track this down myself (with the help that was already given to me by Tony the Acrobat Tech.
The first thing I tried this morning was to see if the Acrobat 8 text touch-up 'bug' was still happening -- and it was.
So I spent the rest of this morning validating fonts and deleting duplicates -- (you know how those nasty duplicate fonts just appear even though you think you have them all removed a month or so ago). I also moved all my Adobe otf fonts over to my /Library/Fonts and deleted those same fonts from my /User/Library/Fonts.
I just fired up Acrobat 8 and tried the text touch-up tool --- and it works fine! No problem at all.
Final answer (at least for me) is --> validate all your fonts. I used Font Book (Mac OS) to do this. Delete any major errors on fonts you can live without. Some of the warnings you get (on the critical errors and caution warning both are confusing: 'name' table warning, for example. I did find an Apple Developer document that explains (to a small degree) what these mean: http://developer.apple.com/textfonts/TTRefMan/index.html
Definitely delete every duplicate font you find. I kept some non-duplicated fonts with minor warnings, but these fonts wouldn't be used in Acrobat anyway.
I don't know if moving the Adobe otf fonts to my root /Library/Fonts helped or not since I didn't do a test of this prior to any validation on my user/font file. It was just one step in my bug fix.
Let me know if this works for you all too.

• Adobe XI - Hightlight text tool not working

Just downloaded adobe XI and the hightlight text tool not working. How can I get this to work.

I guess you can always use the box tool in drawing markups to draw a box around the text then play with the colors until you get close to what you want.
The only thing I don't like about that (besides it being a PITA) is that it covers the text with color as well where the highlight tool does not.

• My predictive text does not work since the new update

The "predictive text" does not work on y IPod 4g since the new software update. How do I fix it?

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
Post back with the result.

• Some CSS Not working in IE 7

I'm trying to find code that makes a div stay at the bottom of the page no matter how far a user may have to scroll. I am currently using
#overlay {
width: 100%;
position: fixed;
bottom: 0;
color: #FFF;
left: 0px;
but this dosnt work in IE 7; works just fine in Firefox, Safaria, Chrome. Can someone provide me with what needs to be changed or added to make this work in IE?
Thanks.

• Rollover css not working in cs4

Hi
I like to putz around with websites etc but I am building a very simple site, probably unorthadox but anyway I can't figure out why the rollovers in the nav are not working. I want them to change to an "orange" color on rollover and active and all the settings seem to be right and not being a code expert the code seems to indicate that is how it is set but can't figure out why they don't change color on the hover.
the root to the site is
www.allkindzatreasures.com
I am not really sure how these forums work and if the pros can get the source code or not, if you need more info let me know.
Thanks for any advice anyone cares to give.

UPDATE: For the sake of any other "putzers" who might be looking on, I made a small change in the design view and then saved the template file and then it asked me to update all the pages, I did and seems to be working now. Thanks again.
Cool but not out of the woods yet
I changed the code in the template and when i save it and preview it it works the way I want,
however after saving changes it does not ask me to update all the pages based on that template and none of the other pages have the new code, do you have any thoughts on that?
I don't know if this is what you want but I'll copy and paste the code for the master below.

• CSS not working on IE !

Hi,
I have in my aplication a view titles in diferent regions, so inplace to format each title i just creat a .css file and upload it to my Workspace_images!
Everything was working great, but when i look to my aplication on IE, it didn't use the css format.
one page region:

Example One of my Titles

css file: titles.css
title
color: #333333;
font-family: Verdana;
text-align: left;
font-size: 16pt
title.position
position:absolute;
left:30px;
top:150px
on page template "One Level Tabs" i have include:

On firefox i include css on title and it displays it formated on IE it is displays without format?
Thank's in advance
Pepe

Hello,
The problem is you are using made up tags <t>....</t> is not a regular HTML tag and IE has problems processing tags that aren't normal tags.
use this instead
<span class="pos">Example One of my Titles</span> and the style should be
span.pos{
color: #333333;
font-family: Verdana;
text-align: left;
font-size: 16pt
position:absolute;
left:30px;
top:150px
}Also -- is not not comment in css and will break your css. To comment your css you need to use /**/
As was posted before if your not familer with HTML or CSS you should spend some time with the tutorials at this site http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp and here http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
A couple hours working through the tutorials here will save you innumerable hours and effort later

• Buttons using CSS not working properly

I am using Dreamweaver CS4.
I can't get buttons to work properly using CSS.
The buttons are supposed to have a red border around them when inactive (a:link).
Hovering over the button causes it to change its appearence (this works).
Clicking the button works.
Do this then click the BACK arrow.
Buttons no longer have red border.
I have tried this with FireFox, IE 7, IE 6 and Safari. They all do the same thing.
You may see it in action at www.justforso.net/buttons.htm
What am I doing wrong???
..... Thanks for your help
Here is the code:
/* CSS Document */
Theme Name: Buttons Test
margin: 0;
padding: 0;

It's because you have created styles only for the :link and :hover pseudo-classes. Your buttons revert to the default state when the link is active (being clicked) or has been visited. You need to assign properties to the :visited and :active pseudo-classes as well.
Another point about your CSS is that you're failing to make use of the cascade. There's no need to repeat values that don't change. I have rewritten your CSS like this:
a.example1
font-size:14px;
font-weight:bold;
text-decoration:none;
border-width:5px;
border-color:red;
background-color: #FFFFCE;
width:125px;
color:navy;
a.example1:link, a.example1:visited {
border-style:outset;
a.example1:hover, a.example1:active
border-style:inset;
color:maroon;
This applies common rules to the basic a.example1 selector, and sets the overrides for the pseudo-classes.
One other point. You're using an XHTML DOCTYPE. All tag names MUST be in lowercase to be valid. This is wrong:
Beginners
The opening and closing tags should be in lowercase.

• Report CSS not working after upgrade

I have been researching this issue for days with no luck. I recently upgraded a project from VS2008 to VS1013. During this process, I downloaded and installed the 13.0.10 installer. Everything seems to work great except for the CSS functionality on the reports (not the report viewer). Here's the scenario:
A webform has a reportviewer control and a link to the css file (Reports.css):

<CR:CrystalReportViewer ID="CrystalReportViewer1" runat="server"
AutoDataBind="true" HasCrystalLogo="False" Height="50px" Width="350px"
style="position:relative;z-index:0;" CssFilename="ReportViewer.css" ClientIDMode="Inherit" HasRefreshButton="False"></CR:CrystalReportViewer>

Prior to converting the project this would cause the report to be rendered according to the CSS style rules. After converting the project it does not. It seems the issue is related to the fact that the report viewer now renders the report output to an iFrame, but I cannot find a way to make the iFrame use the stylesheet. How do we get the CSS style applied to the reports?

UPDATE:
When inspecting the rendered iframe's source, I can see that the CSSClass names specified in the report document have been modified. In the test report I am working with, the detail field's CSSClass is called "DetailField", but the resulting HTML shows a different class name (see below).

I am currently working to make this work via jquery, but I've never used it in a project before and I'm struggling with it. If anyone knows how to make this work, please let me know.
Thank you

• CSS not working in ColdFusion 8

We just upgraded from ColdFusion MX7 to ColdFusion 8 and all of our CSS that worked in MX7 suddenly do not work in 8. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be happening?
Thanks!

Yep - the browsers view source shows all the CSS code as it should. Here is what we're doing:
CSS call in the head:

• Text Wrap not working

I thought to create a text wrap you simply created a polygonal shape, selected it, and chose "Text Wrap" from the Options menu.
In a new draw document, I am creating a text frame, filling it with text, creating a polygon, and with it selected choosing "Text wrap" > "Irregular," but the text does not wrap.

Hi Timothy,
Click on the text frame to select it, then go Options > Frame Links
Wrap in Draw documents will work only if the text is in a frame to which Frame linking has been applied. It's not necessary that the frame be actually linked to a second frame.

Barry
