Text -Customer exit in report

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to display structure elements(selection,formulas) with year (2008,2007,2006).
so i created a custome exit variable which brings current year.
so same variable is used in seleciton item with variable name-1(&ZVARNAME&-1) but it is showing like 2008-1 but not 2007.
Please help out in this.

formula 2
in each selection keyfigure is restricting with calyear with offest values(current year,current year-1,-2) and formula some caluculations
so in selctiond description we have to get year like 2008,2007,2006...
so i have created a text- customer exit variable which brings current year so same variable used in selection2,selection3,forumula1,formula2 and i used offset in description of selection and formula like(&zvar&-1) but i'm getting 2008-1,2008-2 instead of 2007,2006..
so how to get 2007,2006

Need help in writing code Customer Exit for reporting Variable

Hello Gurus,
I have a requirement.When a authorized user logins to view the report, he should see only customers available in the value help screen.In the value help screen it is displaying all the customers, but data is displayed perfectly fine for the authorized sales rep. By default, Value help screen displaying all the customer numbers.
How can I restrict in the value help screen?

You can use a variable with Process type Authorization. This enables variables to be filled with values automatically from the user authorization.

Customer Exit Variable Value

Hi Everyone,
I've been searching around this forum and couldn't find what I'm looking for hence resulted me starting a new thread here. I'm a fairly beginner in ABAP and I come across a problem where I have no idea on how to solve it.
Basically, I have a customer exit with multiple variables and it is being filtered out by certain criteria, the question is when I did not fill in any input and execute the query, the result is return as expected however, if i fill in an input that is not supposed to display, it will display as well, and when I debugged, there's no value E_T_RANGE in the export Sorry, I might cause some confusion here, but I'm not sure on how to re-phrase my current situation
I'm guessing that, the variable stores the value eventhough it's being filtered based on the criteria, is that possible? My question is, is it possible to clear the current value in the variable and export the value (E_T_RANGE) ?

This is what SAP documentation says about usage of this exit:
"With this enhancement to global variables in reporting you have the
option of determining your default values for variables. You can use
this enhancement for variables, for which 'Processing by Customer-Exit'
has been selected in the variable maintenance. This is valid for all
variable types (characteristic value, node, hierarchy, formula and text
variables). You use the Exit EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 for this.
You could, for example, establish the default value of a characteristic
value variable depending on the user."
In your exit, first thing to do is check what variable has been passed in parameter I_VNAME. Check if this variable has been set for 'Processing by Customer-Exit' in reporting.
I think the way to exclude certain values is to use the SIGN 'E' in the range, i.e.
l_s_range-low = '<variablevalue to exclude> '.
          l_s_range-high = ' '.
          l_s_range-sign = 'E'."Exclude
          l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
Also, I think the exit is called 3 times per variable name, for you I_STEP = 2 and I_VNAM = 'Z_MUL_O_ZBO00021_091' is relevant.
I have limited experience with BEX reporting so you may check SAP Help for [Customer Exits in Reusable Query Components|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/f1/0a56f5e09411d2acb90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm]. Validation of users entries for variables in customer exit

Hi,
I like to validate the user's entries a queries variables popup and open the variables popup once more if there are unwanted entries. I think I have to raise an exception in the customer exit for reporting, but corresponding function exit does not provide an exception. Can someone provide me a solution? Is there a solution without modifying the function module? (EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001)

Hi Sneha,
I would suggest the following
1.Please change the design the cube and include a key figure Zcount that would be incremented for each record.
Now as per the first requirement you need to get the count for a Input Period from First cube
This would be very simple to implement , all you have to do is restrict this KF with the Input characteristic/variable and also the First Infocube.
2.You can also use exception aggreation counter to address this requirement . Even in this case you need to include a dummy key figure in the cube and the exception characteristic would be the period in the Infocube.
But performance would be on downside when compared to the first one.
3.The second requirement is quite simple
Create a formula KF as follows
(KF1 > 0)*KF2 .
KF1 > 0 is a logical operation and it would always return 1 on success and 0 otherwise.

Hi Stefania,
to me it looks like your local variable num_mese is not defined with the correct data type.
Try to change
if num_mese = 09 to if num_mese = <b>'</b>09<b>'</b>,
same for 10 -> '10', 11 -> '11'.
If that does not help please let me know your coding where you define the type of num_mese (DATA statement).

Customer Exit to derive formula variable to text variable (BW 3.5)

I have created a formula variable in a BEX report (BW 3.5) that is fill by the user during runtime. This formula variable is used in conditions and other key figures in the query.
What I need now is to use the value given by the user in this formula variable and expose it in a text variable.
The variable properties are as follows:
VARIABLE 1: 'MONTOANA'
Type of variable: formula
Processing by: user entry
Variable entry is: mandatory
Ready for input? YES
Dimension ID: Price (currency: Argentine pesos / Unit: per mil)
VARIABLE 2: 'TXMONANA'
Type of variable: text
Processing by: customer exit
Variable entry is: mandatory
Ready for input? NO
Dimension ID: Price (currency: Argentine pesos / Unit: per mil)
I pretend tu use the value of 'MONTOANA' in the variable 'TXMONANA', so I wrote the following code in transaction CMOD (enhancment EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001, include ZXRSRU01):

We found the solution with members of our ABAP team. In the end the issue was due to the type of the field. The field loc_var_range-low is CHAR 60 so I had to extract the first characters on the right to get the value I wanted to deliver into the text variable.

I have defined a character value variable' processed by 'customer exit'. i am troubleshooting a problem so I need to see the value of this variable. Is there a way to display this variable in the report. If so, what section, rows or columns? And how to configure?

Hi,
You can add directly the variable, in BEx Analyzer 7.0 you can add variables in the Excel Cell that you would.
Steps:
- Select the Excel Cell
- In the BEx Design Toolbox, select Insert text
- When you are in Design Mode - click over the text element
- Go to Constants tab and select the Custom Exit Variable
- Save the workwook

Amrit I think u72720 wanted to know how to get MMYYYY in the column headings.
this can be achieved using text variable easily.
steps
1. Right click and go to properties and click the button next to description box.
2. Add any existing text var from the list
3. now right click on this var in the desription box and select 'new variable'
4. give var name description
   processing type ->replacement path
   replace with char-> fiscal period (or calmonth if that is what restricted in your column)
   select value as 'Key'
finish creation and use this var in all the selection column headings (remove M-1, M-2 etc)
you will get mmyyyy decriptions for every column depending on month of that column

Text Variables processing as Customer Exit

I have posted a similar problem but didnt get any response. Would appreciate if i get some kind of advice in this. I need to display header as Jan FY2007, Feb FY2007 and so on in my report. I want to use same text variable inorder to acheive this as i have a big number of colums displaying fiscal periods for all nearly 4-5 fiscal years. Replacement path doesnt apply as the"Label" option returns the short text. So i guess i need to write a customer exit inorder to fetch the medium text description from 0FISPER table. I need some kind of help with ABAP code.
Points will be awarded for any kind of helpful solution.

Thanks Anil. Yes i am using BI 7.0 I thought of doing that. But as of now the BEx settings for 0FISCPER is Key and still it picks the Short text when i choose the replacament path with Label option. Do you still think if i change the Bex settings as Medium text it should solve the issue? And also please clarify after changing to Medium text do i still need to opt for Label replacement option to achieve my requirement?
I will try to figure that out and will definitely assign points for your fruitful advice.

Populating text variable of type Customer Exit dynamically

Hi,
I have a report with 3 columns as following.
"Current period", "Previous period" and "Previous period - 1".
The text variable name is "ZQTR_TXT".
My input variable name is "ZALLOC_PRD".
If I enter 200709 as input, I want to see column headings as
2007Q3 2007Q2 2007Q1.
but I am getting 2007Q3 for all 3 columns though I use variable offset to -1 and -2 for other columns.
Could you please throw some light here as I got stuck with this issue quite a long time? I am using BI 7.0 Query Designer.

There is another variable "ZCUST_QTD" where "ZQTD_TXT" variable is restricted by offsets.
Input variable is "ZALLOC_PRD" ex: 200709
I have written Customer exit for the following.
when 'ZCUST_QTD'.
ZCUST_QTD will be low 200707 high 200709.
when 'ZQTD_TXT'.
"ZQTD_TXT" is 2007Q3.
But I want "ZQTD_TXT" to be dynamic and different for 3 columns.

Display Error Message in BW Report based on Customer Exit Variable

Hi
I need to display an error message in the BW report based on the value of a customer exit variable - i was able to do this successfully in BW3.5 using the below code.
WHEN 'ZUPN'. "Here ZUPN is the customer exit variable
    IF i_step = 1.
      <check for condition -- if successful, variable flag = 1, else variable flag = 0>
      IF flag = 0.
        MESSAGE e157(00). "Error Message
      ENDIF.

I have upgraded my system to BI 7.0 now. Whenever the variable check is not successful, it displays a blank screen instead of the error message in the report. Please advice if we need to change the code and how ??

Customer Exit Variable not working in BO-Webi Report

Hi All,
I have created a universe based on Bex Query.
Bex query consists of a customer exit variable on Calendar year/month where in it will populate current calendar year month by default while executing the query. It works fine while executing in SAP BI Bex Analyser.
I have created a universe based on the query. For Calender year/Month i got L00, L01, LOV values in universe.
Based on the universe I have created a Webi report. I did not specify calendar year/month as query filters. While directly executing the Webi report, I get the calendar year/month variable screen. But the value for it not populated based on customer Exit code written in BI.
What has to be done to get the customer exit values in variable screen.

Since you have customer exit variable in your bex query, it will be like a global filter in your universe.
Execute the webi report and check whether you are getting only current month data.

Customer exit variable in Report designer

Hello,
I have created one Customer Exit variable ( variable ready for input) for one of the characteristics in a query. However, when i execute this query in Report designer, the selection variable is not appearing. It is just taking the variable value from Exit, eventhough the variable is ready for input.
Is it a standard behavior or am i missing anything ?

Hello,
First check your variable is included in the report desinger or not
if it is included in Filters, use the T-code RSRT2 and execute. You should get a variable screen.
