Text in Bar's of the Chart

Can anybody help me in showing vertical text in the bars of a
column chart?

Sometimes you may want to print text vertically. SAPscript itself is not able to print text vertically, but you can inform the printer to do this. To rotate the window during the printing, you need two separate print controls. You have to include the print controls so that they
enclose the content (text, bar codes, graphics) you want to print vertically.
The content of the window should have the following structure.
print-control zm200
write your text
print-control zm300
The print control ZM200 informs the printer to print the following text vertically. The print control ZM300 informs the printer to return to horizontal printing.
The specific print sequences for the print controls can be found in the documentation of your printer type.
SAPscript, however, interprets the window’s content as horizontal text. Therefore, if you execute the test printing function in SAPscript, the text will be printed horizontal. To check the printout, you have to print the form starting the print program from the application.
To print text vertically, perform the following steps in the recommended order:
1. If necessary, copy a standard printer type
2. Create the print control that informs the printer to print vertically
3. Create the print control that informs the printer to return to horizontal printing
4. Create a new window for vertical printing.
Make sure that the window does not overlap with other windows or stand out of the page during the printing.
5. Include the print controls in the new window

  • I want to copy and paste a chart from an email into Pages on MAC. I only get the text.  Not the chart.

    I recieved an email that included a chart that I want to put in a document.  When I copy and paste the chart in Pages it only shows the text without the chart.  This shouldnt be too hard but I have no idea why it will not copy this in the format or image that it is.  Thanks.

    I'm sorry I do not know how to determine the format of the chart.  It was sent to me in the body of an email...it was not an attachment.  Is there a way for me to find that out?
    I actually tried both ways...I copied just the chart & then I copied the whole body of the email that included the chart.  Either way, the chart-lines/box did not paste.  Only the text.

  • OBIEE: How to sort a bar chart by a measure not displayed in the chart?

    I have a table with OEM sales volume comparisons between two periods, current year and previous year. I have calculated a "VOLUME CHANGE" measure by subtracting last year's volume total column from this year's volume total column, and would like to display the resulting VOLUME CHANGE column in a horizontal bar chart.
    However, I want the bar chart sorted in descending order by the sales volume total column rather than the value of the calculated "VOLUME CHANGE" that is displayed.
    Can someone help me make this happen?
    In Answers I can make a bar chart sort according to any sort applied to a measure IF YOU INCLUDE THE SORTED MEASURE IN THE CHART, but I can't readily see how to do this if you wish to only include one measure in the chart but sort it by another measure from the same table.
    Help would be appreciated.

    Well, we have some kind of disconnect.
    I see that the first value on the horizontal axis will supply the sort. The sort depends on the default, or whatever sort you have set on the column in the Criteria tab.
    But if I remove that measure from the chart, I lose the sort and it defaults back to sorting by BRAND, alphabetically.
    I can't see any options for hiding the measure in the chart itself and preserving the sort by the hidden measure. I know how to do that quite easily in Tableau, but I can't find it here. In the Criteria tab when I go to "column properties" the only option tabs I see are "Style", "Column Format", "Data Format", "Conditional Format" and "Interaction" and none of those offer any option for hiding the column.
    When you go to the results tab and then edit the layout of the resulting data table, you do get options to hide columns in the results table. But they still show up by default when you create a chart based on the table. From the editing options for the chart itself I see no option for hiding any of the measures, only the option to drop the measures down to the "Excluded" box, at which point they a cleared from the chart along with any associated sort settings.
    Is there any way to include a screen shot with the post?
    Can someone be more specific about where the menus and options are to make this happen?

    Don is correct in that there is no option in the chart design component to do this.
    what you can do though (i know it is a pain) is to
    1) create a new chart in a new section with a narrower bar using the chart options dialogue
    2) create a conditional suppression formula for the new section and the old chart section based on the value returned in the Show Value for the chart

    I have found that the 2nd text field (USR08) must be added as the last step (#6).  When I had it as #1, the planning board did not display the USR08 value.
    Now both are displayed in the Gantt chart graphic.  However, it is difficult to see this long string of data as the bars in the Gantt chart may not be long enough to display the data. 
    Therefore we would like to use the "hover over" text which is displayed in the status line at the bottom of the screen.  We have tried using both the Info Text and the Quick Info options within the Bar Chart: Options Profile (OPG0).  Only the first text (the material descirption) is dislayed within either the Quick Info or the Info Text.
    Is it possible to have multiple object values appear in Quick Info or Info Text?  Or is it possible to control which text is displayed in the Quick Info or Info Text?
    Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated, as this is a make-or-break issue for the business to use the planning board.  Thank you!

    I'm also looking for a standard customizing alternative to do the same thing.
    Still, if you're interested, I've already done it successfully with user exit PLAT0001.

  • How do I update the chart axis values??

    I created a Gantt (bar chart) chart in Numbers for a project at work showing schedules.  It looked fine, and everything worked great.  I want to use that same chart, but I want to just update the data in it.  I can get the bars to change, but the Y axis data (not the numbered values in the chart, but rather the the actual names out to the side of the chart) will not change.  For instance....

    January 1, 2013
    January 15, 2013
    Task 2
    February 1, 2013
    February 15, 2013
    The Tasks on the left will be the Y axis fields in a bar chart....and the dates will populate the graph.  I've created my graph from this data and got it like I want it.  Now let's say I want to simply change some things in the Name column:

    Finish
    New Task
    January 1, 2013
    January 15, 2013
    Task 4
    February 1, 2013
    February 15, 2013
    So without creating a new chart or anything, I just want to reflect the new names in my existing chart.  In Excel, when you change the value data, it updates the chart and "it just works" .  I'm wanting to use Numbers for this, and I feel like this is a simple thing that I'm just missing.  Help!

    Jerrold....thanks for the reply.  While you didn't answer my question exactly (I know I was a bit vague), you did put me on the right path.  I was trying to get the Category Axis values to change on the chart whenever I updated them in the table itself.  I couldn't figure out why they weren't but I think I have now. 
    I noticed that in the Category Axis field (Inspector) it had the actual typed names of my tasks from the table instead of the cell locations.  So...."Task 1" instead of "Table 1: C7".  I cleared out all of the text in the Category Axis field, which removed it from the chart.  then I just clicked on the fields in the table and it populated the Category Axis blank with the table/cell info instead of the text.  So now when I update one of the fields, it updates the chart because it's pulling from the cell data every time.
    I'm not really sure why Number, by default, enters the text into the Category Axis when making a chart instead of putting in the corresponding cell locations, but whatever.  I got it working now and should be good to go going forward, thanks for your help.

    I need to create a dashboard where i have
    X- axis -- Months
    Y-axis 1 -- Units
    Y-axis 2 - Percentage..
    Series Group -- State
    Now i have to group the percentage by state which is a line chart ...where as the units is stacked area which shouldn't be grouped by state...So is there a way to not group the units by state and group the % by state in the same chart ?
    I will have stacked area over which i need to have the % with line chart ..
    Is there a way to achieve this in SSRS 2008 R2 ?

    In chart, when we add the fields in the data drop zones, Reporting Services calculates an aggregate for the field based on the category group and series group. The scenario you post is not support in chart data region.
    To work around this issue and meet your requirement, please refer to the following steps.
    1. Specify the values expression of the “Units” filed as follows:
    =SUM(Fields!units.Vlaue,”Chart_CategoryGroup”)
    (note: specify the scope with the name of the category group in chart instead of the label of the category group, for example,”Months”)
    2. Hide the duplicate columns or bars in the stacked area: right-click the “Units” filed and open the series properties dialog box, in the visibility page, set expression for hidden as follows:
    =IIF(Fields!units.Vlaue=First(Fields!units.Vlaue,”DataSet”),false,true)
    3. Specify the series displayed in legend, type the custom legend text as follows:
    =”Uints for this Month”.
    When preview the chart, the report shows only one aggregate value for each category group in the stacked area.

  • Unable to change Data label position in the Chart using Position from Properties

    Hi All,
    I am trying add the Data label to the chart and the users want them to appear on the top of the stacked bars. By default when I enabled the data labels it showed up in the middle. When I tried to change the position by doing 
    View --> Properties --> Position --> Top/Bottom/any of other 8 options   -- it does move a bit
    I even tried deleting chart and recreating it.

    According to your description that you have add the Data label on your stacked column chart  which by default display in the middle of the chart, you want them to appear on the top of the stacked column chart, right?
    For a Stacked Column Chart, the data labels are always placed in the center of the Series bars. This is by design. I also  test it on my new version of SSRS 2014  and find have the same result.
    If you really need the data label to display on the top, I recommend you to change the chart type to column chart which by default have the Data labels display at the top of the column:

    Double click on the picture of the HD on your desktop, then look at the bottom of the window that opens.
    First check the S.M.A.R.T. status on your HD: Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > in the panel at left, select the first item in the list/your HD mechanism > look atthe bottom of the main window next to S.M.A.R.T. status and see if it says “Verified” or something more ominous like “Failing.”
    If S.M.A.R.T.status is "Verified," run Repair Disk: Boot from install disc (insert disc > restart > immediately hold down c key and keep holding it until you see “Preparing Installation”) > at first screen select the language and click Continue > click on the Utilities Menu in the menu bar > open Disk Utility > select your HD in the panel on the left side > click Repair Disk at bottom of main window. Run this at least twice, and keep running it until it says “appears ok” twice in a row. If that doesn’t happen, you may need a stronger utility such as DiskWarrior or if the directory is damaged beyond repair, you may need to reinstall the OS, or you may have a damaged HD (repair utilities can only repair the directory structure, not the HD itself). When this is finished, quit Disk Utility, quit the installer, and restart. Once booted normally, go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions.

    I know it's possible, because i already found some blogs about changing the chart colors and turning off the animated graphs.

    Anyway, there is a textbox out of view that holds the title :
    Beats me what it is doing there, but here is the oft repeated explanation :
    iWeb uses the textbox in the Header layer of an iWeb page as the title in the browserwindow.
    If the textbox in the Header is missing, iWeb uses a textbox down the page in the Content layer. If that textbox is also missing, it uses another textbox. If that fails it uses the pagename in the Sidebar. To replace a missing textbox in the Header, choose another theme and then change it back to the original one.
    Sometimes you may want a different text in the titlebar and not display it on the page itself. Or not display it at all.
    So use that textbox in the Header layer. Type your text. Do Command-T to open the font palette and make the font smaller (Or do Command--(minus)). Then select the textbox. In the Inspector choose T, click a color to open the color palette and drag the opacity slider to 0 (zero).
    Resize the textbox. You may want to change the height of the Header layer.
    Do Command-Shift-B to move the textbox to the back, possibly behind other objects.
    Next add a optional second textbox to the Header layer and use that one to display text on the page.
    If you want to move the textbox to the front again to make changes, but can't remember the location on the page, drag the area with the mouse to select the objects.
    Deselect objects you do not want to move forward by Command-dragging  the mouse over these objects.
    Next do Command-Shift-F to move the textbox to the front. Repeat the steps in reverse order to make the text visible.

  • How can you make the Chart "Color Highlights" Item Condition val a variable

    I have a report with a chart on it.
    The chart has on Item Condition on it to change the color of each bar to red if the value is under a certain value.
    This value needs to be passed in as a parameter to the report.
    The condition looks like this
    if  Avg PerformancePercent < 90 then bar color = red
    The 90 in this condition needs to be set from a parameter P_PerformancePercent_Threshold.
    I am producing the report in Visual Studio 2005 using CrystalReportViewer to display the report.
    Since the value field seems to only take in numeric values I have assumed there is no way to use a parameter something like.
    So I am looking at doing this through code.
    The object model for the ChartObject does not have many properties/methods on it.
    Is there any other way to achieve this?

  • Charts: Gap between Vertical Axis and the chart area

    Friends,
    I have a really wierd issue and I am sure I am doing
    something wrong.
    I am trying to align 2 charts that are placed vertically. I
    want to align the left vertical axis and the gridlines within them.
    Aligning the left vertical axis is easy and done but aligning the
    grids is becoming challenging and I have already spent a few hours
    on this problem.
    Here is a wrong chart image ...

    The line of the LineChart (in the top chart) is touching the
    left and right edges where as the bottom chart bars do not touch
    the left/right edges. Due to this the gridlines are not aligned.
    I had managed to solve this problem but I am not sure what
    part of the code solved the problem. Here is the right chart image:

    In this chart, the line of the linechart (in the top chart)
    is not touching the left and right boundary hence the gridlines are
    alignd with each other.
    I wonder what property of the chart controls the series
    touching the left/right vertical axis or boundary. Your help is

    here is some more information ...
    I started changing some of the properties of the chart which
    I mentioned is a RIGHT CHART and this is what I learnt ...
    It was a CartesianChart hence it was creating the gap
    between the left/right vertical axis and the actual chart area
    (refer to the right chart image).
    I changed it to a LineChart and it started behaving like the
    chart in the WRONG CHART image.
    Is there a solution to this problem?
