  • HTML to speech converter

i wanna implement HTML to speech converter. i ve already implemented text to speech converter..but i don't kno..how to proceed further???? plzz help me

    HTML basically an XML format.
So you need an XML parser.
However, a lot of HTML web pages are not strictly XML, and may fail to parse.\
A while back, I remember reading about "HTML Tidy", which took an HTML file which may not have been well-formed XML, and it cleaned it up to become well-formed.
From there, you could parse it as XML.
( there's tonnes of documentation on parsing XML in Java )
Working out which XML tags within the HTML file contained the text you want to output is another matter. And there would be plenty of Java script, comments, and other tags which would probably complicate matters.

  • Ability to highlight individual words as mac converts text to speech

When I am using text to speech, can I have mac highlight each individual word as it is read to me so I can pair the sound with the word and thereby strengthen my reading skills?  This would be a helpful accessibility feature for someone who has learning disabilities.

Did you have a look at GhostReader. It works in demo mode for 14 days to test it.

I have used it a lot but some functionalities are not yet working in Yosemite beta.

  • I am looking for a text to speech app that supports the Books App?

I am looking for a text to speech app that supports the Books App?

If Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> VoiceOver does not work, then it is unlikely iBooks will do text to speach on its own in the current version.
    <http://www.apple.com/feedback>
I know that some competing services, Kindle, Nook, etc... are restricted in doing text to speach by the book publishers.
If this is text in a PDF (not an ebook), then maybe there is another app that can to text to speach on PDFs.
If it is published books that are of interest, there is Audible.com <http://www.audible.com/>
In theory it should be possible to use the Mac OS X Text to Speach facilities to convert a document into an audio file, and they sync that to the iPod Touch.  I assume there is similar text to speach utilities for Windows systems.
I'm also guessing that there are web sites dedicated to assisting sight impaired individuals that might provide ideas for getting text to speach options for the iPod Touch.

  • Error while generating Text to Speech in XP

    Hi,
I'm getting an error when I try to generate Text to Speech from within Speech Management in Captivate 5 running on Win XP sp3 (swedish).
When i click on Generate Audio I get the error: "Error occurred while generating Text to Speech Audio for Slide 1."
Error occurrs when using the Loquendo and Neospeech voices. Microsoft Sam works though...
Same installation on Windows 7 works just fine, all of the voices generates audio file without error. Unfortunately our clients are only allowed to run XP...
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi There,
    - What is the text that are you trying to convert to speech? Does that contain any non-english character?
    - Is your project an upgraded one from an earlier Captivate version?
    - Create a new project in Captivate 5 and insert single slide. Use this text - "This is adobe captivate" and try to convert it to speech using neo speech/loquendo voices. Does this work properly?

  • Labview 5.1 text to speech

    Hello!
I would like to know the minimum version of Labview to use "text to speech" function, if there is one?
The lowest I've found is an example for Labview 6.1 to use with Microsoft SDK 5.1.
I have access to Labview 5.1 at the moment and I wonder if I have to upgrade to a higher version? If so, which version at least?
If anyone have example code for "text to speech" function it would be great if you could share it!
    Thanks!

the LV 6.1 example is just calling windows dlls.  This VI could be written in any version of LabVIEW.  I don't think that it is using anything labview specific that would prevent it from running in LV 5.1
The olny way to convert down is to do a save for previous from LV 6.1, into LV 6.0, and then from 6.0 to 5.1.  I know that this seems like a pain, but it is the only way to save it down to your version.
If you haven't seen a new version of LV since 5.1, this might be a great reason to buy LV 8.0.  The cost of the new version is less than the amount of time you'll spend finding the old versions, and saving all those VIs for a previous version.
Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Point me to text to speech resolution problem

I'm running vista 64 bits in french with IE 8
When trying to convert a text to speech, captivate is unable to do so.
    Thanks' for any input.

For anyone looking at a solution here it goes...
    1. Close Captivate
    2. Open command prompt "As administrator" on Vista . You can do this by locating cmd.exe - it will be typically in c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe - right click it - in menu you will see - "Run as administrator”. Click that. Say Continue to the dialog which comes.
    3. In command prompt window go to the location where the nsaudio.dll resides ( you will need to have some knowledge of DOS command to navigate to the right folder) - Type "regsvr32 nsaudio.dll” and press Enter
    4. Confirm that you got the success message.
    5. Reopen Captivate - things should be fine
And in Vista you need to Run Adobe Captivate as administrator for some functionalities.
    Hope it help others
P.s. Who knew we would need some old DOS trick to help solve vista 64 bits file registration...

  • Download problem on Text to Speech

I have Captivate 4 loaded and did not originally install Text to Speech. I have installed the download multiple ways, but prior to that I was getting the following error message: The Application failed to Initialize properly (0vc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application. I followed the Captivate 4 module instructing me to go and get the trial version and execute the download file which I did, but when I go to my project to convert text to speech, it tells me I need to do a download again.

    Hi Linda
Did you fully watch the tutorial? I ask because it's possible that you saw the first part and concluded it just walked you through what you have already done. The thing is, you download and run a file. But all you have downloaded and run are the INSTALL files for the Text To Speech. You have to then navigate to where the install files were placed and launch the installer to actually install TTS.

  • Import text to speech script

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Captivate4. I would like to know whether is there any provision of importing the text as speech script and then convert to speech to add audio to the slide?

    Hi Rodward,
    Thanks for your reply.
This is really helpful for editing the CC text rather than editing slide by slide.
But my question is about editing the speech text in similar way.
Whether we can edit all the speech text  in one document, which we wish to have as voice-over in each slide and then import. So that the modified voice-over text will be inserted in respective slides and we can have voice-over(audio).

  • Cap 4 Text to Speech

Downloaded and installed the text to speech contraption
    today. When I click
the Convert to speech button the Speech Setting dialog
    displays. I select
the voice, click OK and get an error "Unable to decode and
    import the
    selected wav/mp3 file."
Is there a setting I missed? Does anyone know where this is
    installed to?
    Ray

    Hi Kristen
I think the whole scheme of installing the voices could use
more work. First you are taken rather generically to the Captivate
product page. You then have to figure out which page to visit in
order to obtain the download. Many seem to miss the long string of
text that needs to be clicked to download. Sounds like you have
made it that far. Good on ya!
If memory serves, once you download, you run an executable.
One would think they are finished at that point. But I believe what
happens is that running the executable you download simply creates
a folder with some files. I believe what you then have to do is to
run *ANOTHER* executable inside the folder created by running the
first executable in order to actually install the voices and make
    them available.
So examine the folder and see if there isn't another
executable to run. I think there will be.
    Cheers... Rick

  • TTS(text to speech) prompts in CUCE

    hello everyone
i want to edit sample script of CUE, i  want to ask if i can convert text into speech like using TTS prompts in it??
i wanna change only wellcome greeting to my requiremnt so how can i do this in CUCE editor?

Thanks for your reply.  That's what I was afraid of. (I could probably program such interface myself, but I really don't like working with Microsoft code, libraries and interfaces... and I have a bit of a time constraint)
That wrapper executable you pointed to looks like it could be promising (and has source code), I'll check it out.

  • An error message pops up when using text to speech function in trial version

An unable to decode and import the selected wav/mp3 message
pops up when trying to use the text to speech function with the

    the changes or convert.

    Hi there
I've noticed more than few posts about this since Captivate 4
    was released.
Are you by chance using Windows Vista 64 bit? Seems most that
have reported this issue have been using that version.
Please report it to Adobe as a bug.

  • Text to Speech(mp3) conversion in flash

    Hi ,
I want to convert text to Speech without using Google api.So that I can run the application offline.
So is there a way to convert  text to Speech (mp3) and upload the converted mp3 file in a folder in flash as3.
    Thanks.

I have found that Text-to-Speech works just fine in Yosemite's Preview application — without changing any standard settings. I added additional voices, and it works equally well with these too. You should not expect Text-to-Speech functionality with text that is incorporated into a graphic though.
Both Edit > Speech  > Start Speaking, and after enabling in Text-to-Speech Preferences, Speak selected text when the key is pressed (option+Esc).
