Textarea stores formating in the clob

I am using apex 3.1.2.00.02
I am using HTML Editor Standard inside the control. linked to a database clob column.
The information is stored like
<font face="Arial">The report reflect current execution plans and a number of

Good work
class operation, logistics and business processes are continuously improved to ensure war fighters receive the right item at
the right place, right time and lowest cost.</font>
What is the oracle or apex command that will convert and store this information into another clob?

  • Invalid data format error for CLOB

I am trying to migrate a piece of code from WLS 8.1.2 to WLS 8.1.5.
WLS 8.1.2 has ojdbc14.jar with version "Oracle JDBC Driver version - 9.0.2.0.0"
WLS 8.1.5 has ojdbc14.jar with version "Oracle JDBC Driver version - 10.1.0.4.0"
In the older version, I am storing an encrypted string value in a clob and saving in the db.
When I try the same in the new code, it displays an error that the data is not of the proper format.
If I read any data entered using the older application, in the new one, it is still valid.
But, if I enter a new value using WLS 8.1.5, only those are invalid.
I even tried deploying the application with the old and new ojdbc14.jar files with it. In either case, it still gives an error. If I use the later version of ojdbc14.jar, the method getAsciiStream() is deprecated.
How can I make my code independent of the version of ojdbc14.jar and store and read the clob?

program that contains some data, inserts it and extracts it an compares it and proves
the bug, we can open a case with Oracle. In general you want to use their latest driver,
but if you can't keep up with their bugs/fixes, you can always keep using the same version
of the driver everywhere. The way to do that is not to put the driver in you packages,
but simply to keep the version you want in the weblogic installation's server\lib
    directory (ojdbc14.jar)

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.
    Another option:

What kind of database the SSMA uses to store metadata in the file named "source-metabase.mb" ?
I'm looking for the method to open the file and add 'cutom migration script' (some automatization).

    Hi Poman.Pokrovskij,
When you generate SSMA Assessment Report, there are several files created and saved into Report folder under your SSMA project folder. It includes
    source-metabase.mb, project-container.mappings, preferences.prefs, and so on.
. MD files are usually saved in plain text format including inline text symbols, defining how a text is formatted such as the indentations, its table formatting, fonts, and headers.
SSMA provides a project setting that allow you to customize how to set customized database migration. For example, to customize data migration SQL statement, you can modify project setting by navigating to Tools and choosing Project Settings,
then looking for the setting for
Extended Data Migration Options and change the value to
Show. You can select use custom select and modify the SQL statement.
For more information about SSMA for Oracle, you can review the following articles. How To Perform Incremental Data Migration Using SSMA:

  • SSIS question - Email the results of the table in pipe delimited format to the users

I am new to SSIS and I have a requirement.  I have a sales table that has transactions for all months.  I am trying to automate the process which involves following steps:
I need to query the table based on previous month.
Email the results of the table in pipe delimited format to the users.
    What I am currently doing:
I created a temp table and load the query results in it every month by truncating the previous month’s data.  Saved the query results in excel format. Open the excel and save it in csv format. Use SSIS package to convert csv to txt format and email
them manually with the txt file name as “Salesresults_<previousmonth>.
I just want to automate this process but the main challenge comes up with email with txt attached. Please help me out.

First create a SSIS variable(@[User::Path]) that store folder path as "C:\Test".
Select the "Expression" tab in Send Mail Task Editor and select the appropriate property(FileAttachments) and assign the below expression.
    @[User::Path] + "\\Salesresults_" + (DT_WSTR, 10) MONTH( GETDATE() ) + (DT_WSTR, 10) YEAR( GETDATE() ) + ".txt"

  • Date format in the file datastore

    Hi,
I have source as file, in which I have date column. While creating the file datastore, I have selected the datatype as date & have given the source date format in the format column and it is working fine.
But I have source file coming with different date formats for the same column.
My question is whether i can give multiple date formats in the format column??
    1. If yes how to separate the formats i.e with comma or semi-colon or etc...
    2. If No, thn how to achieve it. as I can use to_date function, but in that also I have to give all the date formats.

    Assuming Oracle is target database..
    Try this...
    1. In your file data store make the column as Varchar2
    2. In the interface mapping -- specify the following string in the target column mapping
    TO_DATE(REPLACE('2011-06-01','-',''),'YYYYMMDD')
If your target column is date, Oracle will convert database proper format and insert the date..
    Hope this works out....
    Thanks

I've imported a giant cd collection for my boss in wav format for the best quality audio using iTunes version 11.1.1.  I need to transfer this library to our Music workstation using iTunes 11.0.1.  That workstation version of iTunes can't be upgraded for compatability reasons with other software using iTunes.  When I try to transfer the library I lose all of the CD metadata and end up with only track names.  Is there a way to transfer everything along with the metadata?

Not easily.  WAV format does not store tag information in the file.  Realize both AIFF (equivalent to WAV) and Apple Lossless (full quality but smaller files) do, so WAV was unfortunately the worst format to chose.
If you have to go with what you have you will have to explore exporting the library as .xml, moving it and the files to the other computer, then rebuilding a lower version library with the two sets.  I am not sure if you can do it with the library.xml file that already exists or if it too differs according to version.  You may end up having to export the files as a playlist.  You will, of course, lose artwork too, though you can try fetching it from the iTunes Store later.
Some of what you need to do is outlined in these articles though you have the added limitation that you are not building a library of the same version.  (It really is a piity you choose WAV, otherwise you could have simply added the ripped files and most of the data would have traveled with them.)

  • How to get the Date format inside the table

I have a startdate column in the db in the format May 5, 2001 12:39:00 PM, when I query it from a view in this way : SELECT startdate, ... FROM ..., it returns the format in the db,
However I have to do this SELECT
decode(startdate, null, 'NOT START'), startdate), ... the result is 5-MAY-01,
then I tried this to_char(startTime, 'Month DD, YYYY HH:MI: A.M.') the results become May 05, 2001 12:39:00 PM. (more space between month and day, and 05 instaed of 5)
Does anybody know how to fix this, so I get exactly what is in the db?
    Thanks in advance

No matter what you do if you are storing a date in a column it will get stored in the Oracle's internal 7 byte date format.
The way you get it on retreiving it is as set by your date format. You can either change the default date format for the instance, the individual session or the individual SQL statement(in this case using to_char(date, 'format')).
If you want to store the date in a format you want to store you'll have to store it as char or varchar2.

When you do to_char() with 'month' oracle blank pads the month to nine characters, the same goes with day too. So to get rid of it you'll have to trim() the month. And if you want to get a single digit for date less than 10 instead of 0x you'll have to do a bit of extra jugglery using translate() or replace().
    Hope this helps

  • To change the format of the list

    Hi Guys ,
I have schduled a batchjob its a report program runs every week and after completion of the job it sends mail to the concerned guy  with the details of the report .Its an Standard report everything is configured by using SM36 transaction .
Everything is fine but we have to change the format of the report to CSV could any one can guide me how can we change the format .
    Thanks in advance,
    Sathish.M

CSV means a text file, where the columns are separated by a character ";".
The best way to change a list to CSV is to create an internal table in the ABAP, with the structure of the required CSV.
You have to fill in this internal table.
Because you are running the program in background, you can't download the file, the best would be to store the file on the server in a separated directory.

I have a family video DVD that was originally on tape, but is now on disc. I want to import it onto my MacBook to edit and store. However the files are IFO, BUP and VOB and the Mac is saying 'unable to import' as it doesn't recognise the file. Help please !!!!!

Those are the constituent parts of a standard mpeg2 DVD. Storing them is easy: just copy the folder to your hard drive and they will play in DVD player or VLC.
But that format is not intended for editing. To do so:
You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D2187Z/A/quicktime-mpeg-2-playback-component-f or-mac-os-x
(unless you are running Lion in which case see below))
    which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
And from the TOU of these forums:
    Keep within the Law
No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.
Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.
    If you are running Lion:
    From the MPEG Streamclip homepage
The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion onwards, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it. See this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3381
To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

I am new to mac.  Do I need to store photos on the hard drive to use iPhoto or can I store pics on a network drive and still edit with iPhoto?

iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, exporting, saving edits and sharing the photos.
    See this article

“Additionally, storing the iPhoto library on a network rather than locally on your computer can also lead to poor performance or data loss.”

  • How do I remove an old username from the app store when using the update function

How do I remove an old username from the app store when using the update function.
I purchased my Mac used.  The former owners username prepopulates when I try to perform the updated function on the app store.  It does not allow me to use a different user name.    I have created my own username and password.  I have even been able to purchase items from the app store, it's just when I use the update function it does populate with my username.  Any help is appreciated.

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

  • How to store content on the iPod classic

    Dear all,
    I've got a small problem.
Oh, at first I wish you all Merry Christmas.
Now, back to the issue :-)
Not all my films can be played on my iPod classic. Only those that I bought in iTunes Store. All the other, that I usually convert to format called "Apple Universal" can be played on Apple TB, iMac, iPad, but not on my iPod classic. Only if I convert movies to the other format. Smaller, with les pixels. But when I bought something via the shop, the same film can be played everywhere. And I do not want to convert the films double. Once for iPod and second for anything else. Plllls, is there any way how to do it?
And if no, is there a way how to even store movies on the iPod, withot playing in on it. I would like to use it ony when I go for holiday as a media storage. In a hotel room connect it via AV cable to the TV and only on TV play it.
Kind Regards for any advice in this matter.
    Martin

You remove it from the list of items in iTunes set to sync with the iPod, or if syncing it manually, select the iPod in the iTunes source list, find that music, and press Delete.
