TextCompo.js script problem-question

Question

I am trying to use this script to join broken text. ie... individual letters in each text frame joined to make one word. The script works and puts all of the text in a single text box but there is a linefeed/ cr character between each character making it appear as verticle text

I tried changing the following code
if ( obj.typename == "TextFrame" ){
tx += obj.contents + CRcode;
to
if ( obj.typename == "TextFrame" ){
tx += obj.contents;
but that makes the script crash
