Tftp.plist-SERVER??

In troubleshooting a possible TFTP problem in my NetBoot process, I was checking my launchdaemon for TFTP in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
I was checking the tftp.plist file after upgrading my server to 10.4.3 and noticed there was an additional file called tftp.plist-SERVER
Here is what was contained in that file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>Disabled</key>
<true/>
<key>Label</key>
<string>com.apple.tftpd</string>
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>/usr/libexec/tftpd</string>
<string>-i</string>
<string>/private/tftpboot</string>
</array>
<key>inetdCompatibility</key>
<dict>
<key>Wait</key>
<true/>
</dict>
<key>InitGroups</key>
<true/>
<key>Sockets</key>
<dict>
<key>Listeners</key>
<dict>
<key>SockServiceName</key>
<string>tftp</string>
<key>SockType</key>
<string>dgram</string>
</dict>
</dict>
</dict>
</plist>
I immediately saw the TRUE on the 'Disabled' parameter, so I backed up the file, changed the TRUE to FALSE and restarted everything since I suspected my TFTP was not running properly. My problem hasnt been fixed, but i havent been able to confirm or deny whether this plist file should be enabled or not. Anyone have any ideas? All of the TFTP documentation I've read says anything about this particulaer 'server' file.

If you could point me to a free webpage hosting solution that would be great, I used to use MobileMe but of course that is no more. I would not need much space or bandwidth.
I'd simply create a git repository at GitHub and use GitHub Pages to create a page for the project. However, this'd require some skills with git and it would mean that you have to open source the project (git repositories on GitHub are public by default when using a free plan).
Another solution would be to create a dropbox account and to share the public URL for the file, e.g. on a GitHub Pages backed website without making the code Open Source.
That said, I could also host this for you at fooforge.com (hosted on a vServer near Frankfurt, Germany) and give you access to the server via SSH so that you can manage uploads by yourself. In this case I'd use your SSH public key. Ping me via [email protected] or [email protected] if interested.

  • Anyone having issues with TFTP server on Mountain Lion?

    It worked before I upgraded. I've tried modifing the tftp.plist file a couple of times and verified permissions on all the folders. I'm not sure why it's not working.
    I also tried downloading the TftpServer Gui App and that won't run on Mountain Lion either.

  • TFTP Host Error: Access violation

    Hi guys,
    I am pretty new in this forum.
    I've been using MACBOOK and MAC OS X since middle 2009.
    I am using the host tftp server to upload files into my embedded boards.
    This time i upgraded do Snow Leopard and tftp does not work anymore.
    I always have the following message: Host Error: Access violation.
    I tried many thing but i can not solve this puzzle.
    The following is what i tried:
    1) chmod 777 all the folder and files;
    2) Allow all users to conect the TFTP folder (in System Preferences);
    3) Firewall is on now, but even with firewall off I have the same problem;
    3) I tried to check the file tftp.plist (System/Library/LaunchDaemons) and i noticed two major differences: a) It was written DISABLED and b) the flag was for secure -s. Well i root and changed the file with ENABLED and -i insecure, but nothing changed. The strange thing also is that after i star the computer the back to its normal like the changes i made weren't saved, but i was root and they saved.
    I am also using the TFTP Server 3.3.1 from Mr Fabrizio Larosa. Permissions and other stuff are ok when using this software.
    Am i forgetting something special?
    Can somebody help me? I do not know what to do anymore.
    Thanks volks.

    Yes i know that there is no TFTP in System Preferences:
    What i meant is that I configured the sharing permissions in System Preferences for the TFTP folder i am using. For example, my folder is: /Volumes/Ncb002D/00_TFTPbootFiles. Fro that i used the System Preferences and added the folder.
    Ok i understand that, so how can assure i can have my TFTPserver Enabled using launchctl and how can i change it from secure to insecure? More than that i am loosing my hair, i need the TFTP working. Without that i can not transfer files to my embedded board.
    Last version was working. I was using Leopard and everything was ok, the TFTP was working. After i changed to Snow Leopard i can not do anything without a Host access error.
    So i compared the 2 tftp.plist files, Leopard working and Snow Leopard not working. As i wrote the major differences are: ENABLED tag in first line and -s tag (secure mode) in tftp.plist for Snow Leopard. In Leopard the tftp.plist has no ENABLE tag and it is by default -i (insecure).
    I really do not know if that is the reason, i just do not know what to do to get this to work.

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0 to 2.1 upgrade; tftp/ftp fails everytime

    We are trying to do an inline upgrade to 2.1 following the quickstart guide.  When trying to use TFTP or FTP to copy the upgrade file to disk://defaultRepo the tftp software reports a timeout error waiting for the first acknowledgement.  The defaultRepo directory then shows the file but only 512 bytes were copied.
    This happens with multiple tftp programs and one FTP application.
    Searching for a solution shows that this problem existed back in 1.2/1.3 and the fix involved logging in as root to modify a configuration file.  Surely this isn't the same issue.

    We have the same problems with upgrading IOSes via TFTP.

  • How can I browse the tftp/ftp directory on Cisco PI 2.0?

    Hi All,
    I just installed Cisco PI 2.0 on a virtual appliance and I'd like to browse the tftp/ftp directory. I ssh'ed in but couldn't figure out how. With WCS running on Windows, I can easily browse those folders. Please let me know how I can browse the tftp/ftp directory on Cisco PI 2.0 to check what files are in there.
    Thank you.
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
    To configure tftp\ftp:
     go to Configure > TFTP/FTP Servers > Add TFTP/FTP Server
    To access it :
    The easiest way to configure a remote FTP server would be with the steps
    below:
    1) Access your server via CLI and access the configuration mode:
    ncs/admin# conf t
    Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
    ncs/admin(config)#
    2) Create an FTP repository with the commands below:
    ncs/admin(config)# repository localFTP
    ncs/admin(config-Repository)#
    3) Setup the username, password and server address:
    ncs/admin(config-Repository)# url ftp://1.1.1.1
    ncs/admin(config-Repository)# user ftpAdmin password plain 12345678
    ncs/admin(config-Repository)# exit
    ncs/admin(config)# exit
    4) Save the NCS configuration:
    ncs/admin# wr mem
    The use of a different partition is not officially supported as only
    folders under the /localdisk partition can be read by the application.
    The only supported server types include TFTP, FTP, SFTP, NFS.
    TFTP\ftp contains  PI backups \database backup  , configbackups etc..
    Thanks-
    Afroz

  • What's a .plist file

    Hi,
    What's the meaning of a .plist extension?
    I was looking for information using google, but I couldn't find it.
    Where can I find something to read it?
    Thanks,
    Oleguer

    Oleguer
    Plist (Property List) files contain instructions for recording and executing tasks associated with the the application or function that owns them. They can and do become corrupted. If you look in the ~Library/Preferences Folder you can usually guess what application or function the .plist serves by analyzing the file name.
    Proper identification of the appropriate .plist is not always so obvious, but for example com.apple.iCal.plist is the preference file for iCal. When an application malfunctions, removing the associated .plist file from the preferences folder to the Desktop is often the best first troubleshooting step.
    If you have a problem with an application, Quit the application, find the associated plist file in the Preferences Folder, and move it to the Desktop as a first step in your troubleshooting procedure. Then log out/in or restart and re-evaluate the performance of the application.
    A new default .plist file is automatically created in your Preferences Folder after you remove the recalcitrant .plist and initiate the log out/in restart sequence. You can expect default application behavior and you will have to reset some preferences. If the application or function returns to normal after removing the .plist file, it will prove that the original file was corrupt, and you can now safely trash the .plist file which you placed on the Desktop.
    If the application or function is unsatisfactory, the original copy of the plist file which was placed on the Desktop can be safely returned to the preferences folder. Just allow the system to replace the newer plist.
    If you are having problems with any aspect of OS X, experiment with deleting the appropriate .plist file. Plist corruption is common and .plist file deletion often cures many problems. Too many users try intricate solutions first and end up complicating their problem.

  • Prime and ACS View Server Integration

    Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good doc on implenting Prime (1.3) with an ACS View Server (5.1)?

    Hello,
    I went throuh your query and found certain steps which may help you out in solving your query.
    Configuring ACS View Servers
    To facilitate communication  between Prime Infrastructure and the ACS View Server and to access the  ACS View Server tab, you must add a view server with credentials.
    Note Prime Infrastructure only supports  ACS View Server 5.1 or later.
    To configure the ACS View  Server Credentials, follow these steps:
    Step 1 Choose Design > External  Management > ACS View Servers.
    Step 2 Enter the port number of the ACS  View Server you are adding. (Some ACS View Servers do not allow you to  change the port on which HTTPS runs.)
    Step 3 Enter the password that was  established on the ACS View Server. Confirm the password.
    Step 4 Specify the time in seconds after  which the authentication request times out and a retransmission is  attempted by the controller.
    Step 5 Specify the number of retries to be  attempted.
    Step 6 Click Save.
    Configuring TFTP or FTP Servers
    Step 1 Choose Design > External  Management > TFTP/FTP Servers.
    Step 2 From the Select a command drop-down  list, choose Add TFTP/FTP Server.
    Step 3 From the Server Type drop-down list,  choose TFTP, FTP, or Both.
    Step 4 Enter a TFTP/FTP server name. This  is a user-defined name for the server.
    Step 5 Enter the IP address of the TFTP/FTP  server.
    Step 6 Click Save.
    Next Steps
    Now that you have completed  the basic setup steps, you might want to do the following tasks:
    Table 2-3  Next Steps after   Completing Setup Tasks
    Task
    GUI   Path
    Documentation   Reference
    Set up  additional users
    Administration  > Users, Roles   & AAA, then click Users

    Add additional  virtual domains
    Administration   > Virtual Domains
    Setting    Up Virtual Domains
    Refine your  sites
    Design >  Site Map Design

  • Which postgresql plist is the correct one?

    I am having trouble getting my wiki to work ("unable to read wiki configuration file" message). In my digging into this problem I am looking at a couple different plist files. I have updated this server lion to mountain lion and I'm not sure if one of these is left over from an earlier Server install.
    I think this is the correct plist:

    Culd these files be in conflict? Should I get rid of the plist in /Library/Preferences/?

    They say you should get a email with the serial number and download instructions after purchase.
    Your email should specify Mac and the download would be a .dmg file.
    We are basically a user group and have no connection with this company, you have to contact them.

  • Macbooks, tftp and clonezilla

    Hi all,
    I have a working tftp / pxe server (fedora) that will allow me to network boot PC laptops, virtual box and vmware vm's into a clonezilla live environment over the network at work...
    It works great for PC's and VM images, but not for Macbooks.
    I discovered the other day by holding down N during a macbook boot, it will allow you to do a Netboot.
    However, I am not clear on apple's implementation of Netboot being compatible with standard linux-based tftp and pxe, the documents I've read claim it uses another protocol, bsdp instead.
    I already use a clonezilla live cd to do all the mac imaging in the office, but I'm looking for a way to avoid having to carry around a disk with me.
    Has anyone got any experience with this or could suggest something similar? Does anyone know if it is possible to get on-screen debug output of what the Netboot is doing locally on the client?
    Thanks,
    Josh

    gave up for now... but i would love to know if anyone has the netboot booting more than an osx install thanks

  • TFTP Proxy and duplicate device names

    With the TFTP Proxy feature added in CUCM 8.6(2), has anyone figured out what happens if the same device is configured on two different clusters?  Pre-8.6, CUCM had an ordered list of Alternate Cisco File Locations, so the first cluster on the list that had that device would serve the .cnf file.  But TFTP Proxy doesn'ty have an ordered list, so which cluster has priority?
    Chris

    I saw that document and read it before I posted.  And I poured over it again to make sure that I had not missed anything.  That document makes no reference to the same MAC address configured on two clusters.  It does refer to common files, like ringtone.xml, being served by the first server if it has that file.
    Here the most relevant part:
    Proxy TFTP polls all the clusters that it controls for the requested file, starting from its own database.
    The cluster where the endpoint is configured returns the file.
    The locale and ring list file requests do not contain a MAC address, so Proxy TFTP returns its own copies of these files.
    However, because this is a cache, I assume the TFTP Proxy server caches a copy of the file (actually, if it does, how does it manage changes to the .cnf file?  Does it version check?)

    Hi Tahir,
    "Install add" operation can only be performed with pie files...

    You probably tried to copy a directory structure "drwx" instead of a file.
    Cheers,
    N.

  • What does this error message mean: "Filename: Mips32.ari TFTP Error: 'File not found' in AP-105"?

    Question: What does this error message mean: "Filename: Mips32.ari TFTP Error: ‘File not found’ in AP-105"?
    Product and Software: This article applies to AP-105.
    The root cause of this error is that the AP cannot perform a code upgrade.
    Scenario 1
    Check the ArubaOS code.
    The minimum requirement to bring up an AP-105 is ArubaOS 3.3.3+ or ArubaOS 3.4.1+.
    If the controller is running pre 3.3.3 code, upgrade the code to fix the issue.
    Scenario 2
    If the AP is not connected to the controller directly, bring up the AP in the controller and then connect it to the desired location. This process loads mips32.ari to the AP so that the AP can upgrade the code.
    Scenario 3
    The AP has no power adapter and you want to use the PoE feature. A few controller series like the 200 and 3000 Series do not support PoE. In this case, the AP cannot be terminated physically in the controller. Instead, connect the AP to the PoE switch, which is connected to the controller. Then assign a static IP configuration for the AP using the following commands:
    apboot> setenv ipaddr <ip address>
    apboot> setenv netmask <netmask>
    apboot> setenv gatewayip <ip address of the gateway>
    apboot> setenv master <ip address of the master>
    apboot> setenv serverip <ip address of the TFTP server>
    apboot> setenv bootcmd tftp
    apboot> save
    apboot> boot
    Locally configure the TFTP server for the AP and load the mips32.ari file from the controller with the help of the TFTP application.

    I want to download this file Mips32.ari for AP-105 device. Please give me this file download link. APBoot 1.2.4.4 (build 26618)
