The bookmarks button is missing from the navigation tool bar. When I right click and select customize it appears and when I click done on the customization box button, it disappears.

The bookmarks button is missing from the navigation toolbar. It appears when I right click on the navigation and click customize. As soon as I close the customization window it disappears again. I can no longer access the library to back up my bookmarks. Why did you change it from Firefox 3 where you could clock on the bookmarks tab and be able to backup your bookmarks?

Actually the Bookmarks Menu button doesn't appear because you have the Menu Bar visible in your first screenshot. The Bookmarks Menu button should appear to the right of the overflow chevron on the Bookmarks Toolbar if the Menu Bar is hidden.

Custom shape tool missing from Photoshop CC tool bar

I am a subscriber to Photoshop and Lightroom CC and have just noticed (I need to draw a circle) that there is no custom shape tool in the left hand side tool bar; I've always just assumed it was there before. I've checked around and it seems as if it should be there but mine just isn't.

Hover your mouse over the line tool (just above the Hand tool) and select the Custom Shape tool from the menu which appears.

The search function is missing from my navigation toolbar

I have the navigation toolbar checked under the View menu. It shows the regular stuff but to the right of the URL site name it shows a Wikipedia search function. I don't know where that came from but I want my general search function back.

There are two ways I'm aware of where toolbar icons disappear.
One is where you make the window narrower (icons drop off as the window gets too narrow to display them).
If that's not it then it sounds like the toolbar has been customized to remove it. In that case just use View -> Customize Toolbar... and drag whatever icons you like back into the toolbar (or drag off icons you no longer want).

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

You don't. Backup your itunes library on the old computer and move it to the new computer.

I just tried to copy a folder to a pen drive from my mac. It transferred fine. I then ejected the pen drive then pulled it out. When I pulled it out it said it had not ejected correctly despite me just Doing this. The folder is now missing from both! Help

When youi say Eject, the RAM copy of the Directory is written back to the drive. On a pen drive, this can take several seconds.
If you get too excited and don't wait those few seconds, the directory write will be incomplete, and the drive will lose its integrity or lose files or both.

Now when I try to run PS 64-bit I get "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." When I do this, it seems to install correctly until the very end, then it says "Installation Complete With Errors", and when I try to run I get the same 'component missing message'. What can I do? PS 32 bit runs fine. Some of the other applications ib Web Premium say the shortcut has been changed or removed. I appreciate your help...Thank you

Best advice I can think of is to uninstall and run the Clean Script from here.

Renée in the future when removing Photoshop CC please utilize the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Please run the uninstaller and then reinstall. I downloaded Photoshop Extended about a week ago... the second time I opened it, an error message came up saying "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." So I uninstalled it, then re-intalled it. I was able to open it successfully after that - and I used it once. I have just gone to open it again and it is reading the same error. This is very frustrating - why is it doing this? I don't want to have to unintall and reinstall everytime I want to use it. Please help

I want to bump this topic, again. So far the clues I've found are that there may be problems when the program was installed in one user account, and used in a different one. Perhaps there is a language setting, too. Can anyone give tips on this error for Mac, specifically Lion OS?
