The graphs created in non ssl endeca server run in ssl endeca server

Hi All,
I created the graphs to run in non-ssl endeca server and when I gave the code for testing its failing with error:
Unable to read WSDL file from location 'http://slc06xkc.us.oracle.com:7001//endeca-server/ws/manage?wsdl'. Response status: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found WSDLException: faultCode=PARSER_ERROR: Wsdl not found
http://slc06xkc.us.oracle.com:7001//endeca-server/ws/manage?wsdl
Can someone please let me know whether the graphs which are created in non ssl endeca server will work in ssl endeca serve ror not.Do we need to do some modifications?
Thanks,
Amrit

Amrit,
If SSL is enabled, the default wsdl port is 7002.
See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40521_01/server.760/es_install/toc.htm#Creating%20SSL%20certificates
This is the doc about generating SSL certificates, when you install Endeca Server in the SSL mode.
"The generate_ssl_keys utility:
Creates the SSL certificates in the $DOMAIN_HOME/config/ssl directory.
Updates the EndecaServer.properties and EndecaCmd.properties files (in the $DOMAIN_HOME/config directory) with the pathnames of the key files.
Enables the SSL Listen Port of 7002 in WebLogic Server, and sets 7002 as the port on which Endeca Server is started."
To summarize:
If you installed Endeca Server in non-SSL mode, you access the Manage web service of the Endeca Server as discussed in "Accessing the Manage Web Service", using this path: http://host:port/endeca-server/ws/manage, or to access the WSDL: http://<host>:<port>/endeca-server/ws/manage/?wsdl, where the default non-SSL port is 7001.
If you installed Endeca Server in the SSL mode, the protocol in the path changes to HTTPS, and the default port changes to 7002 (it can be any other port, depending on the one you configure during the installation process).
Note: any other public web service of the Endeca Server is accessible in the same way: http://host:port/endeca-server/ws/<name_of_the_web_service>.

  • Move database from server running Oracle 11G to server running Oracle 12c

I'm trying to find out the easiest way to migrate a database from a server running Oracle 11G to a server running Oracle 12c. I have tried using RMAN's duplicate database command but have run into far too many issues when trying to setup both servers before running the duplicate command.  If someone could provide some clear guidance on configuring both servers for the RMAN Duplicate command then that would be great.  The other thing I have tried is performing a cold backup of all the files for the database (control files, data files, etc.).  Copying them to the new server and then recreating the control file to include the correct location and names for the datafiles and redologs.  After recreating the control file the database will not start up.  I'm suspecting this is due to the version differences. If you can provide me clear (ie. migration for dummies) instruction for getting either of these methods to work it would be greatly appreciated.  I'm also open to any other method you can think of to achieve what I'm trying to accomplish. • I need the server run time for weblogic server. Please help

    Hi ^^,
I am trying to create a web project in Eclipse WTP europa. I do not have the bea weblogic server installed on my desktop. My organization has issues running it locally. I need to first create a project and then create a war and then deploy it on server.
I am going through the tutorial at the following website:
    http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/community/tutorials/BuildJ2EEWebApp/BuildJ2EEWebApp.html
It says "To do this tutorial you will need a server runtime that is supported by WTP"
Also "During web application development, we will need a server runtime environment to test, debug and run our project".
Hence I need the link where I can download the server runtime for bea weblogic server.
I have tried to download the tomcat runtime from the following location:
    http://apr.apache.org/download.cgi
But tomcat is not accepting it as a server runtime, pls help...

  • Could WebLogic Server run/host Microsoft Active Server Page (asp)

    Hi Experts,
I would like to know if webLogic Server could run/host Microsoft Active Server
Page application by itself or not? Or is it required to buy any additional plug-in?
Thanks in advance for your help.

This is what the "ChiliSoft" division of Sun is for. I've never used it, but that's
what this does. The short answer is (I believe), that WLS can't host ASP pages,
without adding some sort of plugin or component to run them.

  • Can a virtual machine created on one server run on any other server?

    Hello Community
If you have 7 Servers (named "Server1" ... "Server7") all running WS2012 R2 server Standard Edition,
which you get to create 2 Virtual Machines (using Hyper-V) at no extra cost.
        The question is:
Knowing that each server has its own IP address and may even be on a different subnet(s)
or the same subnet, if you create 2 virtual machines on  (for example) "Server3"  will those virtual
machines be able to run on any of the other 6 servers?
        Thank you
        Shabeaut

Unless this is some trick question then yes you can.

  • Apache Server Running on a Windows Server Machine

To my understanding, when Apache is started on a windows machine, it will initiate 2 httpd processes, one parent and one child.
The child will then spawn multiple threads to handle incoming requests from clients.
My question is why do I then see more than 2 httpd processes in Task Manager?
    Initially, it is 2 as I would expect but evenually, I start seeing 3, 4, 5, 6, ...

I don't think tomcat supports the ejb-ref portion of web.xml. If you're using ejbs your best bet is to use a web container within a J2EE implementation.

  • 10.6.2 Mail Server turn on SSL, mailman still points to non ssl (http)

    Hi!
Running osx 10.6.2 server on an x-serve dual quad core intel processors.
    Services running:
    DNS
    MAIL
    OD
    Web
Mail server is on DMZ zone of our firewall.
I became a little paranoid after original configuration of this server, and enabled SSL for my web services by going to Web in server admin and then "sites" then tab "security" and checked off "enable secure socket layer (SSL)"
SSL is working fine for me and my employees. When trying to respond to a Moderator request for mailman, the moderator e-mails send me links that point to http: address's. I can get around this by inserting a "s" into the copied ad pasted address, however when it comes to the point of "submit data" button on moderator interface after as example saying i want to reject an email, I am redirected to a non https site and never goes anywhere. I called Apple support and was told that I would have to pay them to fix this even though I have an extended warranty.
Does anybody know how I can resolve this?
    thanks!

I think I see the problem: softpac2000 assumed you were serving both secure and insecure versions of your site, so all that was needed was a redirect from the /mailman/ section of the insecure site to its equivalent on the sercure site. From your description above, you're only serving over SSL -- no insecure version of the site, so nothing to redirect from. Here's a modified version of his instructions that'll create an insecure version of the site, that just redirects to the same page on the secure version:
    1. Open Server Admin
    2. Click on the Web Service on the left pane
    3. Click on Sites icon on the top right pane
(At this point, you should see only one site listed, with a port number of 443; if this is not correct, I've misunderstood your setup and you should not follow the rest of these instructions.)
    4. Click the "+" button under the site list to add a new virtual site
    5. Set the new site's hostname and IP Address to match the old (secure) site, but leave the Port number at 80
    6. Put something descriptive in the Host Description field
    7. Click on the Aliases tab on the bottom right pane
    8. Under URL Aliases and Redirects, delete all of the existing aliases by selecting them (one at a time), then clicking "-" underneath
    9. Under URL Aliases and Redirects click on the + sign
    10. Select "RedirectMatch" on the Type drop down menu
    11. Type "(.*)$" without the quotes on the Pattern text box
    12. Type "https://yourdomain.com$1" on the Path text box. Don't forget to replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name
    13. Click on Save button on the bottom right

  • Confused about the 11g R2 Forms Server and using SSL

    All,
I just installed the 11g R2 Forms Server software without configuring it.
I then ran the config.sh script to configure it which creates a weblogic server domain.
I'm a bit confused now. If I run opmnctl status command I get the following:
    Processes in Instance: frmrep_inst_1
    --------------------------------------------------------------+---------
    ias-component | process-type | pid | status
    --------------------------------------------------------------+---------
    emagent_frmrep_inst_1 | EMAGENT | 28279 | Alive
    RptSvr_eiaorapptest_frmrep_ins | ReportsServerComp~ | 28124 | Alive
    ohs1 | OHS | 27831 | Alive
This looks to me like there is an Oracle Http Server installed.
Is the Oracle Http Server answering web calls when I run forms or is the Weg Logic Server answering the call?
Also, the Oracle Forms Installation Documentation talks about securing your environment with Oracle Identity Manager but we are not using Oracle Identity Manager. I want to use SSL but I'm not sure how to secure the environment with SSL. Do I need to configure the WebLogic server to use SSL or the OHS?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Fusion Middleware 11.1.x does include HTTP Server (OHS) and also requires WLS. Both HTTP Server and WLS are http listeners, amongst other things. So whether WLS handles a request or HTTP Server does it will be entirely up to you and/or the end-user.
OHS has a listener which by default (in FMw) listens for requests on port 8888. On the other hand WLS_FORMS is preconfigured to listen on port 9001.
This means that if your URL looks like the following, WLS_FORMS will directly answer the client:
    <blockquote>http://server:9001/forms/frmservlet?form=abc</blockquote>
If the URL looks like the following, the HTTP Server will reply:
    <blockquote>http://server:8888/forms/frmservlet?form=abc</blockquote>
The request path when using OHS as the listener to call Oracle Forms would look like this:
    <blockquote>CLIENT --- OHS --- WLS_FORMS --- FORMS SERVLET --- FORMS RUNTIME (frmweb.exe) --- DATABASE</blockquote>
The request path when using WLS_FORMS as the listener to call Oracle Forms would look like this:
    <blockquote>CLIENT --- WLS_FORMS --- FORMS SERVLET --- FORMS RUNTIME (frmweb.exe) --- DATABASE</blockquote>
Although removing OHS from the path would seem to be better because it is one less server to administer and less system resources consumed, generally it would be argued that the advantages of having it will outweigh the disadvantages.
There are numerous advantages to use OHS in front of WLS, but the most obvious should be that OHS can be set up so that you have one and only one entry point into your FMw environment. In other words, even though for example Forms WLS listens on 9001 and Reports on 9002 and some other app on 9999, all requests can be routed through a single OHS port (e.g. 8888). This gives added security since only one port would need to be open assuming a firewall was in place. This configuration is also helpful when calling one application from another. For example when calling Reports from Forms. If you use OHS, references to other WLS managed servers can be called with a relative reference rather than a fully qualified one.
Regarding whether or not SSL needs to be enabled at any particular point in the path is entirely up to you. You can enable SSL from the client all the way back to the db or any where in between. It is fairly common to see SSL between the client and OHS then no SSL to WLS. But if security is a great concern then you may want to consider SSL from front to back. However, keep in mind that SSL comes at a price. Performance will degrade slightly when SSL is enabled.
Also, OAM (Oracle Access Manager) has nothing to do with SSL. SSL refers to traffic encryption. OAM is for authentication - single sign on.
Consider reviewing the Forms Deployment Guide as well as the other Fusion Middleware documents referenced within it.
    <blockquote>http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/index.htm</blockquote>
Finally, and most important, this topic really has nothing to do with Oracle Forms. This is more about how a web server or its environment works.

  • I cant see the graph in discoverer viewer whith was created in the desktop

    Hi,
         I need your help!! I have a problem to see a graph in Discoverer viewer. I will detail you the steps that I follow;
It was a difficult calculate report to results by Discoverer so, I create a view in the data base which show 3 field, Periodo(number) which is a union whit other field from other folder, State(varchar), Requirement(number).
From the discoverer desktop y have a crosstab worksheets and a graph, there I can see it without problem, but in the Discoverer viewer I can see the graph.
I tried to set the worksheets options in “show options” to show me the graphs too, but this options didn’t appeared there. Somebody know what I should have to do to see it?
    On the other hand I changed the “show null values show” option since null to empty, and when I wanted to save the change this error appeared;
“Oracle BI Discoverer don’t had to found the necessary values to show the events…”
    Thanks for your help!
    Regards
    Dora

    Hi Dora,
The graphs that you create using Discoverer Plus will show nicely in Viewer. Everything you develop in Pluys works in Viewer. They are companion products.
You must realize that Discoverer Plus/Viewer and Desktop are two seperate product sets and they use different techniques for graph creation. There are other differencies between the two that suggests that you need to develop all reports using Discoverer Plus in stead of Discoverer Desktop.
I have experienced workbook created in Plus being destroyed when opened and saved using Desktop. So for a long time I have simply forgotten all about Desktop. If your company is relying on both Viewer and Dersktop I suggest that the time has come to change strategy and technique.
If you need sparring please mail to [email protected]
    Good Luck!

  • Setting the title font and axis labels in a graph created with the Report Generation Toolkit

I'm using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office to generate Excel worksheets containing plots. Unfortunately, the default font size used in the plots is huge (see attached worksheet). I was able to use Excel Set Graph Font.vi to reduce the size of the axis labels, but there does not appear to be a function to do this to the title and legend. In addition, there does not appear to be a function to set the axis text labels. Before I write my own, has NI released additional functions to perform these tasks?

    Hello Zeidan
The graph title and legend font sizes can be changed by accessing a low level VI (Excel_Insert_Chart.vi) that is part of the excelsub.llb that is located at (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\_office). This VI is called dynamically from within the Excel Insert Graph.vi and it uses VI server technology to access the Excel exposed properties. Attached to this post is an image of the block diagram of this VI after I have modified it to set the font sizes of the title and legend to 15. The circles in the image represent what I had to add to accomplish this.

I recenty started instaling OBIEE 11g and got the same error : "Creating BI server system components". I read your solution and would like to know that if this patch is okay to install on a Windows VM (win server 2003 EE, SP2). If yes, after rebooting, do we reinstall ?
I am also getting the following errors:

How to let sql server 2008 know the table created at front end in c#

The best solution is to create table type and pass the DataTable as table-valued parameter. I have an article on my web site about this:

The full article is a bit of overkill for what you are doing right now, but just the few first pages should get you going.
