The Oracle Report on Web

Why when i compile the Oracle Report 6i in Linux Server with the format *.REP and the output on the web is totally different and the parameters forms is also different for what i had designed on Oracle Report 6i.

Hello Sean Cheah,
If you have developed the report using Reports Builder 6i on Windows, and are then compiling/running the report on the Linux Server, the output of the report may look different due to issues involving availability of the fonts used to design the report.
Please ensure that the required fonts are installed on the deployment machine, or use font aliasing to substitute available fonts for those which aren't.
Thanks,
The Oracle Reports Team.

  • Running oracle report in web

Currently i am using oracle 9i,after building the report,I would like to run the report in web for testing purpose. How can i do it,is it i need to install oracle 9i application server?

In builder there are two buttons in tool bar. One is "Run to paper layout" and other is "Run to web".
    1) "Run to web" will show you how reports will appear if you deploy jsp reports as
    http://host:port/reports/rwservlet?test.jsp
    2) Even in a JSP report you can include paper layout and can run like this
    http://host:port/reports/rwservlet?report=test.jsp+desformat=pdf ...etc
In this case when you run this way reports will look exactly as when you give "Generate to File" in builder
    Thanks

  • Displaying Image in Oracle Reports 9i Web view

I can not just display the image in the web view of the Oracle reports version 9i. It is displaying in the paper layout view though. It is a database field queried with all other columns. Can somebody please tell me how to do this?

    Hi Ujjal,
Search for a line similar to the one shown below in your report's web source (that is, the code that shows the image) - it will be in the data area generated by the Report Wizard:
    <td <rw:headers id="HFadphoto241" src="HBadphoto241"/> class="OraCellText"><rw:field id="Fadphoto241" src="ad_photo" nullValue=" "> F_ad_photo </rw:field></td>
You need to change it to the following:
    <td <rw:headers id="HFadphoto241" src="HBadphoto241"/> class="OraCellText"><rw:field id="Fadphoto241" src="ad_photo" nullValue=" " containsHtml="yes"> F_ad_photo </rw:field></td>
    Notice the addition of:
    containsHtml="yes"

    hello,
to use reports in a browser environment, there is a component called reports server. it is part of 9i Application server. it basically enables you to run report requests from a web-browser and -besides printing and creating a file- retrieving the output in the browser window.

  • Not able to access the Oracle I/PM web client.

I have started the Administration server and the Oracle I/PM Managed Server. Now I'm trying to access the Oracle I/PM web client at this URL: http://hostname:16000/imaging. But when I hit this URL, the following error comes up:
    Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

    Hi Srinath,
I have checked that as well, it is showing the IPM_server in running mode.
Also it doesn't show any deployment failure in the command line. Here is what it shows:

  • How do I schedule the Oracle Reports to run only weekdays (Mon - Fri)?

I am using the Oracle Reports Server to schedule the report.
I have successfully been able to schedule my report to run every day (Monday - Sunday), but the customer does not want it creating an empty report on Saturdays and Sundays. I have tried at least 50 different &schedule= commands and none of them work.
Someone here suggested that to use WEEKDAYS that the DBAs have to set something up in the Oracle Report Server, however our DBAs do not know of anything that they have to do.

If you have monday to friday these would be 5 weekly jobs for every day.

I believe you'll need to edit your tnsnames.ora file located in \ORACLE\806\NET80\ADMIN. The last line of this file should read something like
    Rep60_SYSNAME, Rep60_SYSNAME.world = (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp) (HOST=SYSNAME) (PORT=1949))
where SYSNAME is the name of the PC Reports is installed on.
I had this same error, and once I modified this file, everything seemd to work fine.

  • Calling Oracle Report InSide Web Service Method

Is there way to call oracle reports inside one of my web service method.
If yes kindly let me know how we can do this and some documents related to this.
    Thanks
    Robert

Oracle reports does have a Web API when reports are run from the application server. As a result one way to do what you are asking is to write a Web service that use java.net.URL to invoke the Reports Service Web interface:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/docs/A92102_01/pbr_run.htm#1005598
As I understand it, this interface itself is actually being exposed as a Web service in a future release of Oracle9iAS Reports ... I don't know if this is a Oracle9iAS Reports 9.0.4 feature or beyond that. You might try asking on the Reports forum:

  • Calling Oracle Reports from WEB Pages(JSP)

We are using Weblogic as the web server, Oracle 8i as the database and JSP(Java Server Pages) as the scripting language.
We need reports to be invoked and displayed to the browser. Is it possible to invoke Oracle Reports 6i reports from JSP WEB pages and display the output to the browser? How can we do this and what are the additional s/w requirements, if any?
    null

yes it is possible. There is a cgi script called viewreport.cgi. Have the jsp page call it (GET or POST method) and place the user parameters inside the form.

  • Oracle report on web running twice

I have got a problem with reports. Reports are being run on iexplorer. Same report is running fine on clint server. It's also running fine with Win 2000 professional. But when it is run on Win XP prof, the report runs twice & all the report triggers fire twice.
Resultant is after report clears all the date from temp table & when the final report comes it doesn't show any data.
Please suggest what can be the cause for this.

    PDF format, right?
In IE, go to Tools, Internet Options and then under Temporary Internet Files, click Settings. Make sure the "Check for newer versions of stored pages:" is set to Automatically.
If that isn't it, upgrade/downgrade the XP machine to use the same version of Adobe as the Win2K machine.
IE has had this problem with printing for a long time.
Try using a ref cursor in your report rather than a temp table.

  • Parameter Form look & Fee changed after upgrading to the Oracle Reports 11g

    Hi All,
We are using Oracle Database 11g, with Oracle Forms and Reports 11g.
We are in the process of migration our customized application from Oracle Forms 6i to Oracle Forms 11g, during migration we have faced a problem regarding the look and feel of reports parameter form,
We have almost 700 reports and 300 out of them are calling with report parameter form = yes,
When we call any report that is using Report Parameter Form, we have found that the look and feel completely changed, although it is acceptable for us as we have standardized the parameter form, with default layout, but the only problem is that, we are unable to fixed the length of any field having LOV, i.e. we have a field, that is showing Department Name, having Select DeptId, DeptName from Departments order by 1 and we have set the Hide First Column, when we call the report the length of this field systematically increased according to the biggest Department Name (Department Name having the highest number for characters), we want to fix the length of every parameter to a certain size,
    Would gurus please advice?
    Thanks,
    Hassan

    Hi,
    I have seen this problem.
I assume that Apex 4 do not give fxx name to items anymore in order where columns are in query.
This is one of reasons why we have not been yet able to upgrade.
And it seems this same problem exists in Apex 4.1 on apex.oracle.com

I allways have to cancel the current job stacked from the Enterprise Manager.
If I restart the web application and try to generate PDF without cancel the current job stacked in the Enterprise Manager in Current Jobs Queue it doesn't work. It's blocking that job too in the current jobs. ("Formatting page n").
After that I can continue generating other PDF.
