The periphery of the picture on the clip is cropped? Smaller on the exported clip?
When I take a clip to the project liberary it becomes cropped and the periphery of the exported clip is cropped, can you help please?
Thank you
This is probably the Image Stabilization, which works by zooming in.
You can turn it off by clicking the little gear icon in your project clip and going to the Clip tab of the Inspector. Turn off image stabilization, or reduce the zoom level.

How can i delete the duplicate pictures and movie clips on my macbook pro
how can i delete all the duplicate pictures and movie clips on my macbook pro. it is telling me i have no memory
By 'no memory' may I assume you are out of space on your hard drive?
Obviously you can delete them one by one, but this is tedious and will take a long time and you wish to do this quickly and efficiently.
This is my suggestion and it may not be worth a lot:
If all of your duplicates have a unique characteristic common to them that the originals do not, this MIGHT work. For example if you make a duplicate of an image, it will have the same title as the original, but will insert the word 'copy' in its' title. (It should do some thing similar with movie clips).
Go to Spotlight in System Preferences. Click on Privacy (near the top of the pane) and then the + sign (near the lower left hand corner). This will result in a drop down menu. Select all the places you do not want Spotlight to search. You should leave only Music and Movies unless you have pictures/movie clips in other places.
Enter into spotlight the unique characteristic (ie; copy) and it should (I hope) list all your duplicates. Perform a Select All, and put them in Trash.
Otherwise do them one by one or write an Apple Script Program.
If my convoluted idea does not work, perhaps you will be lucky and a more savvy person with a real solution will come forth!

When I drag an image over a clip to try and get picture in picture the options it gives me are only insert replace and delete not the picture in picture option how do i get the picture in picture option when i drag a picture over a clip?
Go to this. http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#mova1aaa682b . It is the link to show you how to use picture in picture. I had this same problem not too long ago.

I need to save some pictures from iPhoto to a SDHC photo card for a digital frame and was wondering if there is a way to shrink or compress file size for each picture as I have already cropped the pictures? Thank you
Yes, you do this when you export the images from the Library.
File -> Export
in the Size section, you don't need images larger than the frame size, so you can specify that and in the Jpeg Quality you can select the amount of compression used.

Flash CC Canvas project - No longer able to set the export Linkage?
Now that Toolkit has been integrated into Flash, it appears a Library Linkages have been somewhat removed...
You can no longer right click and set a linking for an object in the Library, yet you can mannually edit the Linkage box and it works. It worked when tool kit so why has this been disabled? Having to dump everything onto the stage in order to get access to the object is no the best way of doing things, you have to then mannually enter an 'instance' name for everything, before you could right click all the items in the library and select export. It would hten use the library objects name as the linkage.
Will this feature return, I see no reason for it to be removed?Hi thanks for the fast reply.
I still don't see why it was removed. By removing the feature it does simplify the process but it also hampers the process...
In my example, say I have 100 movie clips, all of these have animations and timeline code; 'stop()', gotoAndPlay()' etc etc.
So under the new "simplified" system, I have to add all 100 clips to the stage, distrute them so I can select them and then manually give them all instance names so that I can interact with them in code, otherwise they become instance1, instance2 etc which i unreliable. Alternativly, I have to edit the Linkage label for each clip in the library manually. I don't think anyone would enjoy this either of these tasks.
The other alternative would be to use the 'export linkages' in an "ActionScript" project but if I were to then copy them back into the Canvas project, all my code would be commented out. I would then have to go through all 100 clips re enabling the code, again another horrible task.
Comparing this to the old way; I would select the 100 clips in the library, right click and tick export. Simple.
This is pretty annoying and I think disabling this feature has not been truly thought out.
I would love to see it return and can only hope it will in a future update. -
I'm running a 2013 iMac i7 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096mb. 24Gb ram. Latest update of Premiere Pro CC. My sequence is 23 minutes long, XDCAM EX. Most of my footage is Sony AVCHD.
When I attempt to export the entire sequence, it will go approx 75% and then stop, giving the error box: "A serious error has occurred and Premiere must shut down, we will attempt to save your project..."
This happens whether the sequence is entirely preview-rendered or not, and no matter the settings in the export window. However, if I mark the sequence and export it in 2 pieces, both sides of the sequence will export.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere, tried making new projects, imported the sequence, trashed the render files and media cache, trashed QT plugins, removed filters from clips... no solutions yet.
General response of Premiere seems to be generally slower than usual as well, and this problem has only recently started. I haven't needed to export my project for a couple weeks, so I'm not sure when exactly it may have started.
Below is the error report, I hope someone is able to help me with this... thank you.

Thread 20Kevin-
If I split my sequence into 2, first using only a couple min with 4k footage and NO high res stills, it takes nearly 3 hours, seems to want to crash mid way through again - but doesn't.
Then exporting the final 90 seconds of the sequence, with a couple small 4k clips and about 2000 high res stills (I left them at 6000 pixels) renders in about 40 min and doesn't hiccup whatsoever.
it does not seem to be related to the stills.
most 4k footage is mjpeg from Canon 1dc
This was on a second machine - a new Macbook pro i7- (if I try to render sequence all at once- same crash as on iMac)

So what's the export quality like???
Hi, after the 'pain' of i-movie 8, what's the view on the export quality in 9?
Does it export high enough quality to look good when burnt to dvd and played back on tv?Welcome to Apple Discussions!
It looks the same as iMovie 08.
I did a compare one day using the same clip burned to DVD from iMovie 06 and from iMovie '08.
The iMovie 06 clip looked like it came from the DV camera directly and the iMovie 08 clip looked much worse. The difference is the single field processing used by iMovie 08/09 and the fact that it throws out every other horizontal line.
Because the two softwares handle the imported video differently - single field processing is how iMovie 08 / 09 handles the video, meaning that one of every two lines of the image is ignored. iMovie 06 uses ALL of the image to form the video.
If your primary workflow is editing DV clips and making DVDs, iMovie '06 is better suited. Your movie will arrive at iDVD in DV format, which is an ideal match for making a DVD: same resolution, same pixels aspect ratio, and original quality. If you share your movie from iMovie '08 / 09, it gets re-rendered at 640x480 or less, and then iDVD upscales it back to 720x480. The end result is obviously not as good. -
I have bopped around the forums here for a while now, and while other people seem to have had the same problem as I am having in the past, I come to find that all of the solutions that have worked for others, do not in fact, work for me.
I am running Flash Professional CS6 On an Acer Aspire. 4 Gigs of RAM, 500 Gigs of HD.
The exact problem that I am having is as follows:
I record a sound bit in Audacity, Export the sound as and MP3 File on my main computer Hard Drive.
go to File>Import>Import to Library, I locate the file that I had created, then select it to be imported to my Library.
I then create a new layer in my timeline, Label it as sound, place a new key frame into the timeline layer at the place in the animation that i hope the sound would start, set the audio sync to stream instead of event, then press CTRL+ENTER, which initiates the Test Movie function.
At this time, the "Output" box Pops up and it states,
"Sound has no valid device sound path although exporting device sounds was requested in the export settings. This sound will be ignored."
No sound is played and i cannot, for the life of me, figure out why. I have tried all the troubleshoots that i can find online. I checked the publishing settings and nothing is being Overridden, I've attempted to untick the "export device sounds" option, but it is grayed out and cannot be toggled. I have attempted switching the MP3 format sound clip to a WAV format sound clip. I have attempted to re-recording the sound clip and re-importing the clip to the library. I have checked my computers speakers and everything is in working order and i have even checked to see if other projects sound works.
I pulled up a previous project that i had finished a while back that had loads of sound imported the exact same way and it all works exactly as i expect it too. The sound plays, there is not "Output" box claiming an issue. It seems that the issue, whatever it might be, is stuck to this project itself.
I have even started a new project, imported and placed both the MP3 and the WAV files into the sound layer created, CTRL+ENTER, and it works just fine without problem.
If there is anything that i might have accidentally messed up in this projected that you know about, like settings that may have been changed that would cause such an annoying and seemingly unfixable issue, please let me know. I really do not want to loose this project over such an utterly stupid error.I've moved your question to the Flash Pro CC forum.

Problems with captions in the exported file
I export my sequence as a quicktime file and the captions should be embedded in the export file. But the exported quicktime file doesn't show the captions. Who can help?
Exactly what version of Premiere are you running?
What type of captions? CEA-608? CEA-708? Teletext?
When the sequence is loaded in the Timeline, can you see the captions in the Program Monitor?
When you say "captions should be embedded in the export file," I assume that means that on the Captions tab in the Export Settings dialog you set Export Options to "Embed in Output File." Please confirm.
How are you checking for captions in the exported clips? What player? Have you enabled caption display in it? -
Help! I'm going crazy with the Export function!
I've spent all day googling and trying different methods but I keep having issue with the Export to Movie function in CS3. I have a short 2-minute long movie made of several video clips, cross dissolve transitions, and an mp3 for background music. Everytime I try to export it through File/Export/Movie, it fails with the "Error compiling video...". This happens to many formats available (Microsoft AVI, Microsoft DV AVI, Quicktime, etc.). The weird thing is that I was able to export it through Adobe Media Encoder. I tried several file formats this way sucessfully with the same project. I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and it's doing the same thing. I'd really appreciate any advice to help me solve this problem.
Please provide
these details to help us help you.
Cheers

When exporting, PP renders audio that wont be in the export.
Hello folks.
For my project I basically have a giant, like 10h long timeline filled with audio, that as time goes by becomes shorter and shorter.
With that (and some video footage I add to it) I have export-videos of several minutes of length.
The thing that disturbs me is that when I start exporting, PP renders all of the audio from the timeline, even if its not going to be in the export.
More visually:
Say I load 5min of music and 5min of video into PP and then I export it, it needs e.g. 5min
Say I then load 10h of music and 10h of video into PP and just select the first 5minutes of that huge thing to export, it needs 10h instead of 5min.
How to deactivate that? I know its useful to pre-render the audio like that if I was to work with all of the music during one PP session.
Bbut in my case just little amounts of video footage goes into PP per day, so it is just disturbing to render all that audio again and again...Hi Tavados,

That's a little strange. What you might try is to make sure that the sample rate of your clips match the sample rate of your sequence settings. I hope that helps you.
Thanks,

What are the best settings to use in the export manager when exporting from Aperture 3.5 to Photoshop cc for editing?
Should I use tiff or psd?
8bit or 16bit?
How many dpi? That will depend on the photometric resolution of your originals. For jpegs it would be a waste of space to convert them to a higher resolution than 8bit, but if your images actually have already more than 8bit, you will want to preserve this quality. Then he 16bit format will help to prevent color clipping.
Both tiff and psd will preserve the lossless workflow. With Photoshop as external editor I would use he psd format for better support of layers and transparency, e.g., when you want to create watermark files.
The dpi will only matter, when you export the file for printing. -
Premiere Pro CS6 - video noise in the exported file
Hi everyone,
Im trying to make the transition from FCP7 to Premiere Pro CS6. I edited my first project with Premiere Pro and exported the sequence. However I noticed that the exported file had more video noise than the original clips.
The material is shot by Canon 5D Mark III and edited natively in the Premiere's timeline. Then they are exported to ProRes 422. After noticing the noise I exported the sequence as "match the sequence settings" and it created the .mpeg file. Same thing, there was noise. I then tried another other formats of that same clip and transcoded the Mark III footage to Xdcam EX 1080p before sending to premiere. Same thing, no matter what I did.
The only way i got the exported file to look the same as original file, was to convert the files before sending to ProRes 422, then edit those files in Premiere in the sequence thats settings are XDCAM EX 1080p and then to export it to ProRes422.
Do you have any thoughts for this. The noise I'm talking about is not a huge amount of noise but definitely noticeable if you look the FULL-HD material.
I really hope there is some setting I missed. Im using Mac pro 2009 and Macbook pro 2011.
Thanks
Thomas
macHi Thomas
Try exporting by enabling "Render at maximum depth" and " Use maximum render quality" in the export dialogue window. -
Export function crashes Windows Explorer or at least the exported images do.
This is the first time that I have used the Export function since upgrading to version 2 so believe that it is tied in with the upgrade somehow.
When I choose an image > Export > Temp folder on the Desktop the image does indeed appear in the temp folder. Double clicking on the folder displays the contents and so long as I take no further action nothing more happens. However, as soon as I move the mouse over the image icon this causes Windows Explorer to crash.
With LR closed down, I navigate to the folder where the image is located and by right-clicking > copy I then save a copy to another temporary folder on the desktop. Moving the mouse over the image icon does NOT this time cause Windows Explorer to crash.
I have tried the Export function with RAW, DNG and JPG files to see if the problem was related to any one particular file or file format but it makes no difference - the same problem as described above occurs.
Has anyone else experienced this or can advise on how to possibly isolate this problem?
Windows XP2 SP3Thanks for that John. Having done as you suggested, the problem appears to be with a dll file associated with another application I used for displaying cr2 and crw thumbnails in Windows Explorer. In the applications (dpMagic) preferences if I uncheck jpg and jpeg from the file associations Windows Explorer does not crash following Export from Lightroom and in this situation, double-clicking on the exported jpg/jpeg file now results in it opening in Windows Fax and Picture Viewer.
Even uninstalling the application followed by manually searching for any trace of remaining files prior to a fresh install does not cure the problem and I suspect that not all files from this application are being removed.
Anyway, I have now emailed dpMagic support for advice but am happy that the cause of this crash does not now appear to lie with Lightroom.
Thanks again for your advice, regards and have a nice day. -
