The Quad Kernel Panic

Question

Well seems there are problems with Kernel Panics and I'm not alone.
I have a stock Quad with a Lacie 500G external drive with only 512m memory. I haven't had any trouble as of yet except for today when I came home to find her in a Kernel Panic. Here is what happened if anyone can make sence of it. I wasn't running any large apps, it looked to kick in when the screen saver started.

OK... Looks to be fixed for now:
I figured that this had to be an issue with my Lacie external 500gb because when I ran any type of program to examine the disk it said that it had an error in the B-Tree or something and it could not be fixed. I was moving all of my data off the drive so I could reformat it, when I tried to move one specific file it caused a Kernel Panic, it did this every time I tried to access this file. The same time when I last had a Kernel Panic the file was also being accessed. So I deleted the file and did a low level format (One pass zeros), then I reinstalled the OS on my main drive formatting it as well as an option. I have not had a Panic yet and it's been almost a week. Since I used my Lacie only for storage and not to run Apps I'm thinking that there is something wrong with the way the drive was originaly formatted from Lacie. Maybe because it was before Tiger? Anyway, I suggest if anyone has Kernel Panic and is using a Lacie Drive to reformat it. It worked for me (Crossing fingers)
