  • Removing a quote sign from data transfer

    Is it possible to remove specific characters while transferring data from the PSA table to subsequent data targets?
    Maybe there a BW formula that enables this to happen?
    In my case, we have created a generic extractor to load statistical data from a BW table into a DSO.  We need to remove the quote  signs from the transfer of data because the data is failing to activate in the DSO.
    We want to avoid resorting to ABAP if possible.  Nor do I want to modify the list of approved symbols.

    Hi,
    If you know the target field where you want to remove quote then you can write routine in the transformation .
    You can use field level routine to achive this.
    Hope this will help you..
    Thanks,

  • Can a single quote be used at the beginning of a query string parameter

    Hi all,
    I am a relative newbie and have a newbie question.
    Can a single quote be used at the beginning of a query string parameter passed to a jsp page? Are there any inherant problems with this? Is there a comprehensive list of characters that must be escaped in a query string parameter?
    Example: http://mysite.com/myjsp.jsp?param1='nghdh
    Thanks

    You'll have to escape most non-letter characters before you can pass them as a URL. I don't know if it's necessary for a single quote, but better safe than sorry.
    Either use java.net.URLEncoder(...) or use javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse.encodeURL(String). I wouldn't recommend using unescaped characters in your URLs, that might cause pretty funny behavior that's sometimes hard to trace back. Don't worry about decoding it, your JSP/Servlet container will do it when you call javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest.getParameter(String).

  • Can I use the quoted string in the field like  dbms-column or table-name

    I see some examples like table name using quoted string in the weblogic-rdbms20-persisstence-810.dtd.
    Can the experts tell me how the quoted string should be used for EJB 20?

    Hi,
    Whether the identifiers should be quoted or not depends whether they were defined that way when the table and colums were created. Whether they can be created/accessed this way depends on the policy of the database that you are using with regards to 'Quoted Identifiers' (also known as 'Delimited Identifiers'). On databases this feature is on by default, on others it is not. If you database objects require quoted identifiers then you may enter them as quoted as you've seen in the weblogic-rdbms20-persistence-810.dtd
    Hope this helps

  • How can i get the correct text from a string like it show in the original source with the quotation marks in the right place ?

    The text is in hebrew so the problem is that sometimes the quotation marks not in the right place.
    For example i have this text: תווית
    על בגד: ''תן לאישה לכבס. זה תפקידה''
    This is the source original text you can see the quotations marks and they are not in the right place and all i did is copy paste.
    And this is a screenshot of how this text looks like in the website in the original:
    You can see now where the quotations marks should be.
    Now this is how i'm using the text in my program:
    First of all i'm using a webclient to download the page from the website and i'm also encoding it to windows-1255 since it's in hebrew.
    using (var webClient = new WebClient())
    webClient.Headers.Add("user-agent", "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.2; .NET CLR 1.0.3705;)");
    byte[] myDataBuffer = webClient.DownloadData("http://rotter.net/scoopscache.html");
    page = Encoding.GetEncoding("windows-1255").GetString(myDataBuffer);
    Then i'm extracting the places i need by reading the html file lines and parsing the right text and it's link.
    string loc;
    List<string> metas = new List<string>();
    List<string> metas1 = new List<string>();
    List<string> lockedLinks1 = new List<string>();
    string text = "";
    string mys = "";
    public List<string> LockedThreads(string filename)
    lockedThreads = new List<string>();
    lockedLinks = new List<string>();
    Regex textRegex = new Regex("ToolTip.*?(?=','<)");
    string[] fall = File.ReadAllLines(filename);
    for (int i = 0; i < fall.Length; i++)
    if (fall[i].Contains("http://rotter.net") && fall[i].Contains("locked")||
    fall[i].Contains("locked_icon_general") ||
    fall[i].Contains("locked_icon_anchor") ||
    fall[i].Contains("icon_anchor") ||
    fall[i].Contains("locked_icon_fire") ||
    fall[i].Contains("locked_icon_sport") ||
    fall[i].Contains("locked_icon_camera") ||
    fall[i].Contains("locked_icon_movie"))
    Regex linkParser = new Regex(@"\b(?:https?://|www\.)\S+\b", RegexOptions.Compiled | RegexOptions.IgnoreCase);
    foreach (Match m in linkParser.Matches(fall[i + 2]))
    if (m.Value.Contains("><b"))
    loc = m.Value.Replace("\"><b", string.Empty);
    lockedLinks.Add(loc);
    string txt = fall[i - 1];
    string text = textRegex.Match(txt).Value.Replace("ToolTip','", String.Empty);
    if (text.Contains("&rsquo;"))
    text = text.Replace("&rsquo;", string.Empty);
    lockedThreads.Add(text);
    Already here on the List lockedThreads you can see the quotation marks not in the right place as in the original:
    After i'm parsing the text and links and adding them to the Lists in another class i'm doing a comparison using this Lists:
    foreach (List<string> l_branch in ListsExtractions.responsers)
    TreeNode l_node = treeView1.Nodes.Add(l_branch[l_branch.Count - 1]);
    if (ListsExtractions.lockedThreads.Contains(l_node.Text))
    l_node.ImageIndex = 0;
    l_node.SelectedImageIndex = 0;
    for (int l_count = 0; l_count < l_branch.Count - 1; l_count++)
    TreeNode l_subnode = l_node.Nodes.Add(l_branch[l_count]);
    if (ListsExtractions.lockedThreads.Contains(l_subnode.Text))
    l_subnode.ImageIndex = 0;
    l_subnode.SelectedImageIndex = 0;
    The problem is in the line:
    if (ListsExtractions.lockedThreads.Contains(l_node.Text))
    When it's getting to the line with the quotation marks it's never equal.
    Now there are more quotation marks.
    In general the problem when comparing both text if it's having quotation marks it's not the same.
    So i have two options:
    1. To fix it somehow so the quotation marks will be the same in both variables when comparing and also the same like in the original as they show in the html page.
    2. To remove the quotation marks from both variables.
    What should i do ? And how ? I was prefer to use the original quotation marks like in the original since they have a meaning in the place they should be. The question is how can i do it ?
    This is example of the block from the html file where the text with the quotation marks is:
    <TD ALIGN="RIGHT" VALIGN="TOP">&nbsp;<font size=-1 color=#ff9933><b>9418</b></font>&nbsp;</TD></TR><TR BGCOLOR="#eeeeee">
    <TD ALIGN="RIGHT" VALIGN="TOP">

    <img src="http://rotter.net/forum/Images/new_locked_icon_general.gif" border="0"></a></TD><TD ALIGN="right" VALIGN="TOP" WIDTH="55%">

    <font color="898A8E">תווית על בגד: ''תן לאישה לכבס. זה תפקידה''</b>
    </a></font></TD>

    Ok, it is unclear on what is happening here.
    Are you saying that when the webclient gets the data that it is not honoring the quote characters? Or the processing of the data buffer is causing issues?
    This is what I see the of your example text which is trying to be parse out:
    <a onmouseover="EnterContent('ToolTip','תווית על בגד: &rsquo;&rsquo;תן לאישה לכבס. זה תפקידה&rsquo;&rsquo;','<u><span style=color:#000099;>כתב: Spook בתאריך: 08.03.15 שעה: 22:11</span></u><br>מחאת טוויטר קמה בעקבות תוויות שוביניסטיות שהדפיסה חברת אופנה באינדונזיה לפיהן תפקיד הכביסה מוטל על האישה. החברה התנצלה אך כנראה רק עשתה רק יותר נזק לע...'); Activate();">";
    It appears to me that the  escapes `&rsquo;` does not have matching `&ldquo;` anywhere within the tooltip. So it appears that the page properly places left quotes in when processing the page, but the raw html has broken text.
    Hence a garbage in, garbage out situation.

  • How to handle the quotes('') in the procedure?

    Hi all,
    I have been struggling with an issue in the procedure. Let us go to the functionality of the preocedure.
    I am passing a parameter that has text like
    ' INDIA,BANGALORE,"INOX,BLR","THILAK NAGAR,JAYA NAGAR "4TH 'T' BLOCK,BANGALORE",560030'
    Here, INDIA = country field
    BANGALORE = city field
    INOX,BLR = Theatre field
    THILAK NAGAR,JAYA NAGAR "4TH 'T' BLOCK,BANGALORE = address field
    560030 = pin field
    I want to load these fields into the table thru procedure. Here the issue is if any field value come with quotes(") inside the quotes like above address field. Since , please guide me how to handle that quotes while identifying the field value for either or address field or some other one.
    Table structure:
    country varchar2(100 char)
    city varchar2(100 char)

  • Using the Dollar($) Sign in a User Function Implementation

    Hi All,
    Just a quick question: how could you use a dollar($) sign in the implementation (Oracle) of a user function? I'm asking because the table name that I'm using in the implementation happens to contain the dollar sign (I$_FACT_SALES) and from the results I'm getting now, ODI reads the $ as reference to a variable, therefore removing the $-sign from my table name upon execution (I_FACT_SALES). Is there something like a backslash or some other character that could be inserted before the $ so it would register as part of the table name?
    Any response would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks very much,
    Marco

    You may have 3 options:
    1.) Try using the tablename in quotes "MY$TABLE" or may be MY$$TABLE using double $ symbol
    or
    2.) I found this code snippet : odiRef.getInfo( \\u0022DEST_WORK_SCHEMA\\u0022 )+\\u0022.\\u0022,\\u0022\\u0022)?. So on these lines you can use \\u0022 as a symbol for "

  • How to use the single sign-on cookie

    I have a web dynpro application that's triggered by a button press in the gui. It was set up to use the 'WDY_EXECUTE_IN_PLACE' function module. However, I recently attended a Web Dynpro course and was told that's not the correct way to do it - I should be just calling the url and passing any parameters in the url string. I set about changing this today and I'm now using cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute to execute the url but now I'm being asked to log on to access the application - previously I didn't have to do this.
    I'm told this is something to do with the single sign-on cookie MYSAPSS02. According to our basis team this is already set but it looks like I need to do something extra - like retrieve it and/or send it to the application somehow. I've had a search around the forum but haven't come up with the answer yet. Can someone point me in the right direction please ?
    thanks,
    Malcolm.

    If you use cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute  you won't get single sign on.  Instead use CL_GUI_HTML_VIEWER. This class has the special logic to generate the SSO ticket (method ENABLE_SSO).  You can place the control in a dummy container object (not actually on the screen) and then use the DETACH_URL_IN_BROWSER method to launch the browser separately from the SAPGUI.

  • Problem inserting the euro sign using JDBC

    Inserting the euro sign into a char field of a DB2 table using JDBC results in getting a control char (SUBSTITUTE / ASCII 26) in the field, instead of the expected euro sign.
    I tried both the "old" DB2 driver (db2driver.zip) and the new one (db2jcc.jar). I get the same result in both cases. I also thought this might be a problem of different character sets between the client machine and the database server, but the problem doesn't occur if i use non java third party tools (like WinSQL) to insert the euro sign...
    Any idea?
    Colargol

    Something like below will verify that you can send the character to the database, store it, and return it with java. You need to run this in a Unicode compliant tool, like Eclipse 3.0.
                   //Euro character in Unicode is below, insert it into DB.
                   int myCharacterInteger = 0x20AC;
                   String myChar = new String(new char[]{(char) myCharacterInteger});
                   System.out.println("My character inbound is " + myChar);
                   pstmt.setString(1, myChar);
                   pstmt.execute();
                   pstmt.close();
                   //Euro character in Unicode is below, insert it into DB.
                   PreparedStatement pstmt2 = dbc
                             .prepareStatement("select * from tmp_junk");
                   ResultSet rs = pstmt2.executeQuery();
                   while (rs.next())
                        System.out
                                  .println("My character from DB is " + rs.getString(1));If that returns the character properly from DB, examine how the character is being input into java, you may inadvertently be changing character sets there.
    PS - that may not be right character, but you get the idea. We don't use Euros much where I work. ;-)

  • What does the plus sign after certian items mean?  i.e. ""+Math.round(+s);

    Hello,
    I was wondering what the plus sign does in the following line of code:  ""+Math.round(+s);
    What does it do to +s ?
    What does it do to +Math.round ?
    Thanks
    Linda

    So basically the following code:
    " " +Math.round(+s);
    makes sure that the value of s is numeric, rounds it up and then converts the number to a string.
    Thank you GKaiseril

  • Deleting the first word in a string

    hi! i'm learning regex and with this code i would like to
    1) print a string (from "Hi my name is SandraPandra. do not print this")
    2) remove the first word and print the new, shorter string
    3) remove the first word in the new, shorter string and print the newer and shorter string
    4) continue this until it hits a non-character (e.g period, colon, quotation marks etc)
    does anyone here know how i should change my code in order to achieve this?
    here's my code:
    class Testar {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
          String partDesc = "Hi my name is SandraPandra. do not print this.";
          do {
               System.out.println(partDesc);
              partDesc = partDesc.replaceFirst("^(\\w+)\\s+","");}
              while (partDesc.equals("\\w") == true);
               if (partDesc.equals("\\w") == false){  //this is where something goes wrong
              System.out.println("found a full stop!");}
    } the outcome now is:
    Hi my name is SandraPandra. do not print this.
    found a full stop!
    Thank you in advance!

    I answered this question in your previous thread. (Sorry, I didn't realize "I'm going to bed now" was a code for "I won't be reading this thread any more". ^_^ )
    I would also like to point out that it's bad form to write conditions like   if ( booleanExpression == true ) It's gratuitously verbose, and it creates the potential for subtle bugs. Suppose the boolean expression is a non-final boolean variable, and you accidentally leave out one of the equals signs:   if ( booleanVariable = true ) An assignment statement evaluates to the value that was assigned, so this "condition" will always be true.

  • Regular Expression - Extract words before the PLUS Sign ?

    Dear All,
    I had many words with having a symbol plus. I need to extract the words before the plus sign.
    I can able to do this by using String.indexOf or String.contains. But i like to know is there is any way to do this using Regular Expression.

    Thanks,

    Here's one way.

    Pattern pat = pat.compile("\\+");
    String beforePlus = pat.split(input)[0];
