The requested Performance Counter is not a custom counter...

Hello All,
I'm very new to both Oracle & .NET/IIS, and I am having trouble configuring one of my five IIS6/Win2003 servers. I have successfully deployed the same code on three other servers, each with the same ODAC (11.1.0.5.10 Beta) installation. Using sqlplus, I've been able to validate the connection to my db. There is even code using an older Oracle driver in part of the codebase that connects and works fine with the db, but I can't get my ODAC-reliant code to work.
When I try to access the code that uses ODAC, I get the error below.
Thanks in advance for any clues at all!
- Jason

I've never seen this error in the context of trying to connect via ODP.NET or ODT.
If you have Oracle Dev Tools for Visual Studio installed, you can try to create a connection to the database using Server Explorer. If this works, that means your ODP.NET connection is just fine.
If you don't have VS or the tools, another thing you can try is connecting through ODP.NET using a simple OracleConnection.Open. Make sure you have your client set up to connect to the DB server.
Here's some info about connecting to the DB:

    Adding to it,
First thing need to modify the server.xml and default-web-site.xml file as mentioned . Even after it doesn't work check for the security settings in the browser.
For IE, Goto Tools-> Internet Options -> Security tab -> Custom level.
    Try enabling the security settings.

  • Windows 8 Remote Desktop Error "The Requested Security Package Does Not Exist"

When my remote host (win server 2008 R2) is configured to use SSL for security layer, RDP from my Windows 8 gets

When the host is set to use RDP security layer, it works fine.

This is a Lenovo desktop, I uninstalled silverlight and bunch of other OEM installed programs.

This fixed my problem in Windows 8 while connecting to a Windows 7 host.  I needed the pku2u entry.  I decided to look it up and here's the info for anyone that's interested.
    Introducing PKU2U in Windows
Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2
This product evaluation topic for the IT professional describes the Public Key Cryptography Based User-to-User (PKU2U) security support provider (SSP) that is new in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
    PKU2U protocol
The PKU2U protocol in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is implemented as an SSP. The SSP enables peer-to-peer authentication, particularly through the Windows 7 media and file sharing feature called Homegroup, which permits sharing
between computers that are not members of a domain.
    How PKU2U works
Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 introduce an extension to the Negotiate authentication package, Spnego.dll. In previous versions of Windows, Negotiate decides whether to use Kerberos or NTLM for authentication. The extension SSP for Negotiate,
Negoexts, which is treated as an authentication protocol by Windows, supports Microsoft SSPs including PKU2U. You can also develop or add other SSPs.
When computers are configured to accept authentication requests by using online IDs, Negoexts.dll calls the PKU2U SSP on the computer that is used to log on. The PKU2U SSP obtains a local certificate and exchanges the policy between the peer computers. When
validated on the peer computer, the certificate within the metadata is sent to the logon peer for validation and associates the user's certificate to a security token and the logon process completes.
For more information about developing SSPs, see
Custom Security Packages in the MSDN Library.
For more information about the Negotiate extensions (Negoexts), see
Introducing Extensions to the Negotiate Authentication Package.

No, it will hurt your battery, but it is not recommended by Apple. Additionally, since you have a model with a removable battery, you should calibrate the battery once a month if you leave it plugged in at all times.

    Hello ,
I am developing one small project. I am using struts,EJB and Hibernate to develop this project.
My project name is Admin. It has two sub-modules:- AdminWeb and AdminEJB.
In the sub-module AdminWeb, i am writing all the struts related stuff like Action classes, form bean classes, I have struts-config inside WEB-INF folder along with web.xml and other tlds. From the action class i am takinf the lookup of session bean which is in the another sub-module name as AdminEJB. and invoking the business method from of that bean class.
In the sub-module AdminEJB, I wrote all my Home Interface, Remote Interface and Session Bean class. From the session bean class i am firing a HQL query to interact with Database. I create Hibernate.cfg.xml and also mapping xml file needed to map with the database. Then i created ejb-jar.xml file.
I created EAR file name as Admin. And deployed in My JBoss server.
Now when i am running my project from web browser. then the following message is coming on the screen:-
The requested resource (/Admin) is not available.
Can anyone help me plz to recitify this problem.

    Hi,
Your Tomcat is running also in port 8080.
    Change Tomcat or EPG port
This might help change XE EPG port

another questions: in general, would you suggest to use a controller.jsp instead of the servlet?

    hi
    1) i compiled the .java by using eclipse and did not get any error message
    2) my directory structure:
    webapp\test\form.jsp
    webapp\test\WEB-INF\web.xml
    webapp\test\WEB-INF\classes\coreservlets\ShowParamaters.class
    webapp\test\WEB-INF\classes\coreservlets\ServletUtitlities.class
do i have to add the ServletUtilities.class also in the web.xml?
thanks for helping cannot find any error :(

  • The requested resource (/hello) is not available

    Hi,
    I keep getting the message:
    http status 404
The requested resource (/hello) is not available
when i'm trying to access http://localhost:8080/hello
i've created the war file using the deployment tool you get downloading J2EE 1.4. I've also tried the quickstart example copying the hello.war file to the autodeplay folder and it does genereate the hello.war_deployed file, but i keep getting the same message.
i can make it work using the admin console for deploying. then i can get it to launch. why does the other methods not work and how do i get them to work?
hope somebody is able to help. thank you.

  • The requested resource /MobileOTA14/ is not available

    Hi,
I am trying to deploy the mobile 4.0 client package MobileOTA14.war file on tomcat6/Windows. I have used the following command to deploy the file. The command executes successfully. The I have restarted the web server.
    wdeploy.bat tomcat6 -Dwar_dir="C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Mobile 14\Client" -DAPP=MobileOTA14 deploy
But when I execute the url " http://hostname:8080/MobileOTA14, I get an error "The requested resource /MobileOTA14/ is not available"
I see the /MobileOTA14/ is deployed on the tomcat through Tomcat Manager webpage.
Can anybody advise what was the problem?
    Thanks,

If you see the white WiFi bars in the upper left corner, that simply means that the iPad has detected a WiFi network, and that does not mean that you are connected to the Internet.

  • UI error "The requested lookup key was not found in any active" workaround

    Hi All.
Some of you might have this problem when making a UI-Connection "The requested lookup key was not found in any active activation context"
Talking to SAP Support and Gianluigi Bagnoli about the problem here is a sum of the problem and the workaround to prevent it (at least untill SAP development fix the problem)
    Some facts:
    - The error is present in SBO2005A SP01 and SBO2005B SP00, SBO2007A should not be affected
    - The error occur because the SAP client fail to provide the correct/entire connection-string
    - The problem is actually an underlying problem from Microsoft (try searching google with the error message)
    - Normally after the error occur, you can go to Administration > Add-ons and start the add-on manually without problems
    Some additional observations
    - The error mostly happen just after startup of a windows machine
    - We have had a couple of customers that have had the problem, then upgraded the SAP client to a new patchlevel and got rid of the problem (but we have also had customers where this did not help)
    - Seem to be happening more often of slower machines
    Workaround
Knowing that this problem is tied to and incorrect connection string is also the "workaround"... What you could do is to create exception handling around the UI connection, and if it fails connection using the development connection string (like you do during development) The connection string is: 0030002C0030002C00530041005000420044005F00440061007400650076002C0050004
Using this method, you will be able to establish a connection even if the client is unable to provide you a correct connectionstring, but the draw-back of this workaround is that the add-on will be indicated as failed in the Add-on Manager and the user is not able to stop the add-on in any way other than disconnection from the company.

    Hi,
I am looking for a solution to the error "The requested lookup key was not found in any active activation context" too.
In our add-on we do two SboGuiApi.Connect(sConnectionString), one from MyAddon.exe and the other one from MyAddon.dll. The .exe catches messages and .dll interacts with UI to paint forms etc. It is since the .exe and .dll are not in the same thread. The first connection works fine in the .exe, then that connection string is passed to the dll and the error is raised. The rare thing is why it works fine from the development enviroment, but doesn't work when SAP is starting the Addon?
    Is it possible connect twice?
Can we connect in the .exe using the connection string received from SAP and in the .dll using the development connection string?
    It is over
    Windows XP 2002 SP2
    SBO2007A patchlevel 15
    VS 2005 C#
    SQL Server 2005
    Thank you
