The text box with place holder text in my master is uneducable in my template. How can I fix it?

I'm very new to InDesign.
I just created a master based on a page design I liked by drawing its page icon in the layers panel up to the master icon at the top of the panel. Later I applied the master to a blank page in the same document by selecting the page in the layer panel and option clicking on the master page icon. It worked and I can fill the photo frames but the text areas are uneducable. When I go to the layers panel and open the layer with the text it's blank, however when I open the same file in the master, it's filled with text boxes.
How can I add text boxes with placeholder text that is editable?

Master pages themselves can't be a template, but any file in which the master page is used can be a template, just by saving as such. Templates can contain much more information, though, than just master object placement, including styles (very important), color swatches, and multiple pages. You can even have content on the document pages in a template file, and if you are doing placeholder text, it might make more sense to put it on the live document page than it does to put it on a master page.
Master pages are best suited to content that will appear on multiple document pages.

It sounds like perhaps the file doesn't have an extension that the system recognizes. Is this all files, or just one specific one, and if so, which? What is the name (and extension, if it has one) of the downloaded file? What kind of file do you *expect* it to be? (PDF, or whatever). Renaming a file with the appropriate extension can often fix that kind of problem.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened but it has never stayed this way for such a long time. If I have to send it in for repairs I will but I'm not sure if its under warranty

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for theother 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

Have you worked through the Troubleshooting iOS and WiFi knowledge base article? If not, see if there is info in there that might help.
Is the WiFi greyed out on all WiFi networks or just the one? If it does this on all then there may be a hardwaer problem that needs attention from the techs at an Apple store genius bar.
Before that, however, try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears. That clears a lot of iOS hang ups that occur.

Depends of the specific kind of file you are trying to play. MOV refers to the file container. Any data compatible with the system used to create the file can be placed in an MOV file. If you don't have the same codecs available on your computer to play back the file or if your version of the QT player does not expect expect the encoded data to be in an MOV file container, then it cannot/will not play the file. Use the Finder Info window, media player Inspector/Information window, or a dedicated utility to determine what compression formats were used to create the MOV file and then install the required codec(s) if available.

Thank you, that kind of explains the why. Is there a how? Meaning is there a workaround? Basicly I have two strokes. Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you share an Apple ID, both of your phone numbers should be linked to that ID. You should be able to use your phone number as well. My wife, my daughter and I all share an Apple ID for purchases, and we each text from our iOS devices using our own iPhone numbers.
When iOS 6 came out, you were able to link the phone number with your Apple ID to use for Messages and FaceTime. You will need to sign out of messages on all devices and then start the process all over again.
