"The (trial) installation failed"

I downloaded the installer and copied it to my Applications folder. It checked the hardware configuration was OK and accepted my trial serial number, but then it produced this window, with the content:
"The installer can't locate the data it needs to install the software. Check your install media or Internet connection and try again, or contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
Software Update says my system is up to date. My Internet connection is working - I posted this successfully! I've restarted the Installer, then restarted my computer, with the same result.
What can I do now?

I've tried a lot of things, including installing the OSX 10.6.3 combo updater over my existing 10.6.3 system (to ensure all system files were present), and reinstalling my old Aperture 1.5 system (long since removed from my computer and not used for years) to see if it would install - which it did.
At that stage, on an instinct, I reopened the Aperture 3.0.3 trial .dmg file and executed the installer directly, without transferring it to my applications folder as the Apple e-mail advising my trial serial number instructs me to do - "1. Download the Aperture 3 trial. 2. Install it in your Applications folder and open it ..."
It ran and installed the trial! How stupid is that? There must be other hidden files on the .dmg that are not transferred or accessible when the installer is copied to the Applications folder.
Apple really needs to fix the misinformation in its e-mail! I hope my experience helps someone else in the same circumstances.

    MS SQL DB installation specific steps for SAP system is clearly documented in SAP Installation guide. Please download from SMP, read it carefully and install as mentioned in the guide.

    Hi, Sorry I don't know if this question has been asked yet, so I'll have to ask.
    Everytime I have tried to install the Photoshop CS6 trial, it says that my installation has failed and that it has encountered errors. Below is what my error report says.
    Exit Code: 15  -------------------------------------- Summary -------------------------------------- - 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)    ERROR: Media DB Error : 12  
    So, I'm not understanding what the error is.
    I know I meet the system requirements because I'm running:
    Microsoft Windows 7 (Home Premium)
    4 GB RAM
    585 GBs of Hard Drive.
    It says 86x bit? I think?
    I'm pretty sure that I have those met.
    Other than that, I'm just not understanding why this isn't working.
    Adobe Download Assist is installed just fine.

    Did you have the Photoshop Beta installed? If yes, then you need to uninstall that one before you can install the trial.
    Does your account have sufficient privileges? If not, you might need to log in as Admin.
    Run the install again.
    If the error recurs, then run CS Cleaner Tool and remove all products.
    Reinstalling after that, should resolve the problem. Get the Cleaner tool here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

    I've recently tried to download the Photoshop CS6 Extended trial software on my Windows 7 laptop, and after extraction I get a message saying:

  • When I try to install Photoshop Elements I receive the error installer failed to initialize.

    I am having the same issue.  Purchased Photoshop Elements 10 just a few minutes ago, and even though the download (direct download of PSE10) seemed to go fine, I ran the installer and got a message reading, "Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."
    After downloading and running Adobe Support Advisor, the message I got reads, "Inspection could not identify any issues.  Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance."

    I have tried downloading and several times.  I have used the Akamai downloading method and the direct download.  I am able to download the .dmg file but not install the application.
    I am on a Mac Pro 2.93 GHz running OS10.6.8, and I have plenty of RAM (8GB) and hard disc space (>350GB).
    I have also placed a call to customer support.  Waiting for a call back.

  • Photoshop CS6 Trial "Installer Failed To Initialize" on Vista. Please help I have read other posts!

    I've read through countless posts on different sites and still can't find a fix to this. I've been having a hard time trying to figure out what advice actually applies to me.  After extracting all the files and I run the setup I get about 75% through before I get the Installer failed to initialize message. After looking at the PDapp data It seems clear what the problem is, but I have no idea how to fix it. The fatal/error messages are as follows:
    [FATAL] Setup - Adobe Application Manager executable does not exist at the location: C:\Users\Tanner\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDApp.exe
    [FATAL] Setup - Unable to launch PDApp. File missing

    Please, any help would be great.

    first thing to do is to re-download ps cs6 in case your dl was corrupted.
    if you have no other cs6 programs installed, run the cleaner before trying to re-install:  http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

  • Receiving the error Installation Failed when installing After Effects

    I tried several times to download AE both through a trial of Creative Cloud and the "Download Now" button under the product.  One time the download got to 99% and then abruptly quit.  I'm on a Mac using OS 10.6. I have used PS, Illustrator and Indesign rather heavily for several years but have never tried AE.  I wanted to try it and also the Creative Cloud at the same time.
    It doesn't look very promising to me. Hope you get yours working.

    I have branched this out to a new discussion.  I would recommend you start with downloading and attempting the installation of the trial of After Effects.  You can locate the trial at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=after_effects.  If you are able to successfully install the software then please choose the option to License this Software after it is installed as a trial.  You will then want to enter your Adobe ID tied to your Creative Cloud subscription.
    If you continue to experience difficulties then you will want to utilize the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/ to automatically review your installation logs.  Alternatly, or if you do not receive an actionable result, you may want to review the installation logs manually to determine the source of your difficulties.  You can locate steps on how to accomplish this at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • The Akamai installer fails to work

    OS X 10.8.5, latest ver. of Java. Popups not blocked, Java enabled.
    I downloaded the Akamai installer and clicked to install it. After accepting the license, I clicked Continue. The installer hangs at the point where it is supposed to identify the disk on which install the software. The Continue button at this point remains dimmed and I cannot proceed.

    I have just tried to install the 30 day trial of CC but the installation froze.  when trying to open from the desktop I just got a toolbar and blank screen.  I tried the troubleshooter but that did not solve the problem so I uninstalled the program but now it won't let me re-install??  Can anyone help?   • Cs6 trial "installer failed to initialize", already used cc cleaner

    Hello,
    I am trying to download and install a trial version of cs6 on my macbook retina which is running mavericks. I had actually already installed a cs6 trial but After effects did not work because i am running mavericks, so i needed to update to 11.0.3. For some reason, i forget why now, I thought i needed to reinstall the entire cs6 master suite so i deinstalled and attempted to reinstall, but it didn't work.
    I got this message:
    I read somewhere to download and run cc cleaner to erase any leftover data from the previous install, which I did, but I am still getting the same message.
    I have also redownloaded the installer and am still getting the same message.
    Does this have to do with the previous install?
    Should I manually go through all my files and toss out everything reading adobe and try again?
    Does anyone know any additional steps?

    would it be possible to take my laptop in to the apple store and have them wipe and reinstall mavericks, clearing all evidence/ artifacts of previous installs, but be able to keep certain programs by backing them up? basically I have a student trial version of cinema 4d which I would not want to lose if I did this, do you think I could safely back it up and transfer it back onto the machine after it has been wiped?

    everything on my drives AND registry looking bit like
    "dreamweaver"and "golive". Did use utilities and searched by hand.
    I started the setup.exe from the download. Unzipping seemed to
    work. I found the folder on the desktop (731 MB (766.547.466 Bytes)
    // (19.569 Files / 158 folders). The istallation started
    automaticly. After that the behavior is exactly the same for
    GoLive9 and CS4: Setup starts "initialisation", comes to about 90%.
    For a very short time a screen pops up (I cannot catch it, even
    with a CamCorder in front of the sceen) and the installation
    freezes. I have to kill the process manually.
    None of the other posts here fits to this problem. Anything I
    can check or information I could give (log-files if existing ?)
