The Web Dynpro component cannot be generated due to serious (syntax) errors

Hi everybody,
While I was developing a web dynpro application, I had an error but I couldn't understand this error. Before I took this error message, only I changed bound one context node to another context node in a RadioButtonGroupByKey.Therefore, when I pushed activate button, I took an error message.This error message said "The Web Dynpro component cannot be generated due to serious (syntax) errors". What does it mean ? How can I find out where is the error in the application. Also, I think the reason of this error message is about a BC problem. I am waiting for your comment urgently.

Hi ,
Just delete the context (by using the context binding) and bind the field with the correct node and try to activate .
One more suggestion is that after deleting the binding and before binding to other node check it that whether that binding was properly deleted or not.Some times its not deleting the binding.

Hi,
There is something wrong in the definition of component usage in your component. Maybe you forgot to instantiate the use component, maby the name you are using is not correct. Try to find it in that direction.

Set the Web dynpro component view to other web dynpro component

I have created two web dynpro components DC1 and DC2
i have imported the usage of DC2 in DC1
i am able to create the instance of DC2 in DC1 also
but the problem is i have a view V1 in the DC1, i want to embed the V1 of DC1 into one of the DC2 views Programmatically how can i do this ?

Hi,
You can include the InterfaceView of DC1 at designTime in DC2.
But you can specify the lifeTime property to "Manual" in DC2 so that you can create the ComponentInterface of DC1 at runtime using ".createComponent()" method.
So when you run the application DC1 View will not displayed by default.

Hi,
Make sure you have all these jars located in the folder C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.tc.webdynpro.runtime_2.0.0\lib.
If they are not there, search for them in the plugins folder. They should be available at some other location. Copy them to the folder I mentioned above. Or you can modify the class path to point to the existing location.

Problem in changing CAPTION (header) of a View in Web dynpro component

Hi All,
I want to change the Caption (header) text of a View in Web dynpro component. But when i transport it the changes are not reflecting in other systems.
Also when i activate the Web dynpro component in development system, it issues a message "The text belongs to package $TMP". But the Web dynpro component is assigned to a custom package.
Any pointers to resolve this is appreciated.

Please check the 'text' property of the caption.
e.g : If you are using OTR to bind the text then it might be possible that the OTR text belongs to $TMP package.
Please explain how have you binded the caption ?

as advised, you create a usage group for dynamic components, add component usages to the group based on your conditions.

Copying a web dynpro component

Hi All..
I want to copy the web dynpro component. I have saved it as local object.It contains two windows and some four views.When i try to copy this component, it is getting copied, but when i try to create the "web dynpro application" of it, it is asking for "Interface View " and plug name . If i press f4 it shows "The Web Dynpro component "name of component" does not contain
interface views"

when you copy the wda component, it will be copied and will be in active state, once all the components are activated means, windows, views, everything will be available.
now create application for your component, if you have more than one window(interface view) select the one which you need for the application.

BUT do NOT understand the name of WebDynpro Component to provide.
What are the entries or WebDynpro component names to fill in below?

Your question is not really clear to me, but anyhow, I expect that it is if one can determine "what" is called (technically) if a WD iView is called from within the portal.
All you can determine is given in the corresponding WD iView and it's parameters, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/11/0d653f0c9fa075e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

Vault folder redirect cannot be displayed due to an unknown error

What happens is that on clicking on the "Vault" link in my application an error is sometimes displayed stating "the Vault folder redirect cannot be displayed due to an unknown error". If the user refreshes the page the error goes away and if they click the link again from this same browser session the error never re-appears. If the user closes this browser session, opens a new browser session and clicks on the "Vault" link again then the error message may appear once more.
I have been running the Plumtreespy diagnostic tool while clicking on this link to get some information on where the problem is occurring. I discovered that when the user is going to get the error on the webpage that some warnings are displayed in the Plumtreespy logs. These warnings are not present when the user is not going to see the error.
Here is an example of the log warnings: (Note: They always seem to start with the first warning mentioned here)

No component usage created in enhanced web dynpro component

Hi experts,
I am facing the following problem:
I'd like to enhance a web dynpro component in order to add a popup window. The popup is triggered by the process_event method. So far everything works just fine.
But the popup needs to know some context attributes from the main component, and I cannot create a component usage in order to set the context mapping.
Does anybody know how to solve this issue?

Thanks for your answers first of all.
I need the popup to be a stand alone web dynpro component, so I guess the assistant class doesn't do the trick because I can not access it in the popup component.
The popup is called when the business object is saved. So that the user is asked to notify other users that the document has changed. In this popup the user should fill in the message and click a button to send it and close the popup.
So I tried the OBN approach as well but with two problems :
1. I cannot close the popup component by coding (button click) because it has no direct parent component
2. The save event is not run through properly so the document stays locked by the user. But I didn't look into this yet.
So it would be perfect to have an embedded popup component which is based on a stand alone web dynpro application so it can be closed properly but it need at least access to the guid of the main component.
Anybody got an idea for this?

I´m a student from germany(my english is not the best) and trying to learn webdynpro developing. I´m currently trying to learn basics and develope a first wd application.
Can someone tell me(in an easy english) what the the Web Dynpro Demo Kit includes and how I can use it?
And do someone have further Information about tutorials or something like that to learn basics in wd developing?

Create Callable object of Web Dynpro Component (GP interface) giving error

We are facing a strange error in Guided Procedure.
While trying to create a new callable object of Web Dynpro Component (GP interface) after selecting the type and click on Next it is throwing below error.
*javax.xml.stream.FactoryConfigurationError: Requested factory com.ctc.wstx.stax.WstxInputFactory cannot be located. Classloader =com.sap.engine.services.deploy.server.ApplicationLoader 3995fdb9 sap.com/cafeugpuidt

Also while running the GP processses which are created in the past and working fine till few days back are also giving the same above error.

Web Dynpro component activation failed

I tried to activate a web dynpro component and the activation failed. Have listed error messages from the request log and activation log. Do let me know what could be the issue. The application deployed successfully on my local J2EE.

There's obviously something missing in your WD DC: "Startup plug is missing". Your code has been checked-in to the inactive workspace. What you can do now is synchronize your DC with the server. You should get the same error then in your local NWDS and solve it.

The Web Dynpro component cannot be generated due to serious (syntax) errors
