Theme for Portal !!!

Hello everyone
We have now an Enterprise Portal in our Business .
Our Business has 2 departments and each one of the department has its own implementation of the same portal using the same theme . Each one has the same number of Top Level Navigation and also the same number for Details Navigation but its roles are different.
In the Content Delivery I am aware that it was defined some standard themes in the Standard Portal Content .
As each department have their own roles , we are planning to change the look and feel for one of the department : We mean that now , one department will use  a different theme and will have its own look and feel (Color, TLN, Detail Navigation, Title bar different from the other one .
We need to know if is it possible to have these changes ?
Remember that our two departments are using the same Enterprise Portal .
If we change the theme of one of theme , this will affect the other one implementation ?
Thanks for any ideas
Regards

Hi Stan,
Follow this procedure
•     In content administration ,in portal content create a new folder.
•     Copy default framework in the new folder from Portal users>Standard Portal users>Default Framework in portal content.
•     In system administration> portal display>desktop and display rules>portal content create new desktop,open its object..
•     In the new desktop add the new created framework and the theme to be used.Set both the framework and the theme as default.
•     Portal Administrators>super_admin>master rule collection add if expression
•     Give user name for whom the desktop is to be applied and the path(left click once on the created desktop and check in the quick info the id of the new desktop) of the new portal desktop created in the portal content of Desktop and display rules>System Administration.Save the changes
Now login as the given user  whom the new desktop is applied.
You may put particular users in a group and assign a theme to that group.This ways you can assign different themes to different users.

  • Use Enterprise portal theme for Web Client

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to this topic.
    I am working in portal project. We have situation that in portal we have excellent theme but in CRM Web client we donu2019t have fantasy theme like portal.
    Is there anyway can I use my portal theme for CRM web client?
    If you guide me how to integrate portal theme into CRM Web UIs, that will be great.
    Thanks.

    Ashok,
    There is no easy way to extend your portal theme to the CRM WebClient. Lot of effort is needed for identifying the portal CSS files and updating CRm WebClient theme CSS files with the portal theme attribute values.
    Thanks,
    Thirumala.

  • How to set Portal Theme for WDA iView different from user's Theme

    Hi Experts!
    I have dual-stack system: ABAP server + Java. I have WDA application in ABAP server and I deployed it to NW Portal via iView (using template).
    There are two themes customized:
    1:  Standard - to be used for all iviews except WDA iviews. This theme is set as default for user.
    2.: WDA theme - to be used for some WDA iviews IRRESPECTIVELY what them is set in personalization settings of the user.
    So my question is:
    Can I somehow set the Portal Theme to be used for specific iView no matter what Theme user has selected in his personalization?
    Or if its not possible, can I set some specific Theme for WDA application?
    So taks is to overcome settings for default portal theme for user and replace it with different theme. Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance.

    Are you using an LDAP as your UME, or are the user records from from R/3 ?
    Apparently  (Ive never done it) you used to be able to force a default language by editing this file (back in the EP5 days):
    <J2EE root>\WEB-INF\portal\system\properties\prtDefault.properties
    Look at the following lines :
    This is the default language to be used when none is specified
    request.defaultlanguage=en
    request.defaultcountry=us
    If you prefer to have the same language for all users no matter their user locale, change the lines to this :
    This is the default language to be used when none is specified
    request.mandatorylanguage=en
    request.mandatorycountry=us
    I hope this works out for you

  • Portal themes for SAP GUI for HTML

    Dear SDNs,
    We have a portal theme designed with good and look and feel, but most of our applications are SAP Transaction iViews for HTML GUI. can we apply the same theme to HTML GUI applications? or at least can we change the background color and windows color of HTML GUI applications?
    I have tried with ITS Theme generator, but it is just showing the tabs and others as image we need to change. Please provide inputs if any of you having the related information.
    Can we also change the GUI for WIndows colors for multiple users? i know to change for one user's local layout, but how can we make one cusotm color for all the users.
    Your inputs will be appreciated,
    Thanks in advance,
    Lakshmi.

    Hi
    I think we cannot apply Portal themes for SAP Transaction Iviews. However, there is a property called Stylesheet for each iview. Play with that property and let me know. The success rate is 50:50.
    But I would recommend to migrate them to webdynpro ABAP. Do not still recide in 1995. Come and enjoy the 2010 Web2.0 look and feel and enhanced usability of Webdynpro.

  • Portal Theme for IACs iViews (ITS Theme Generator)?

    Hi guys,
    it's me again I got another question / issue (i didn't post it at the other thread, cause this is another issue):
    We deployed the SRM BP 5.0 to the Portal EP 7.0 SP14 and now i want to change the look and feel of the SRM iViews.
    I allready customized the Portal Theme via the "Theme Editor".
    But the IACs iViews are staying SAP standard.
    I got the hint to use the ITS Theme Generator, so I did. But now i come to the point where i am trapped:
    I specified at the ITS Theme Generator the following entries:
    The ITS URL : <ITS Server>:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/
    UserID : ####
    PW: ****
    Service: bbpsc02
    Theme: MyTheme
    Then the new page opens and the transaction is displayed. At the upper side the transaction is previewed. at the lower side the images of the transaction is displayed.
    AND Now here comes the big Questionmark:
    How do i change e.g. the background color of this transaction or the text font? i can't find any section which would offer me this functionality!
    The only thing i can "customize" are the images...what about the rest? What if i want to have my buttons grey instead of Yellow?
    Or  am i completely wrong? does this customization has to be done in the R/3 itself?
    Any help or hint is warmly welcome and of course will be rewarded by points.
    Thanks a lot ....
    best wishes
    Stefan

    Hi Guys,
    actually we made an OSS message.
    The result was that there is no standard portal way to customize the IAC themes for the BP SRM witht the tool "ITS Theme Generator".
    To my knowledge the only way how to adapt the theme of these iViews is to customize them directly at the SRM back end via the transaction SE80.
    Well that's the end of the story...
    Greetz to all of you
    and see you soon in an other question /post
    Kind regards

  • Help, need to change IP address on host database for Portal

    Hi folks,
    Rather urgent assistance (as usual) needed. I have an installation working correctly on a pair of Win2k machines, one as the 9i database, one as the 9iAS/Portal. The app server has 2 NIC cards, one with public IP address (which is ok), one on the LAN. I need to reconfigure the LAN addresses on both the machines. Initial Portal install done without DNS, i.e. actual server/host addresses entered in the configuration.
    I have tried changing all of the TNS/Listner settings and the NIC card IP addresses and restarting the machines. The likes of SQLPlus work ok, with the TNS connect name allowing over the LAN access into the database with the new LAN addresses. I cannot seem to get the 9iAS/Portal to find the repository with the new addresses.
    Can someone help please? I can't find the answer in any documentation or other postings.
    Thanks in advance
    Rob

    There are other modes of operation for the plasst as well. I am listing them below but the formatting will make it difficult to read. If you like I can email it to you.
    Bill G...
    Configuring Portal when the HTTP server host name of the Infrastructure is changed
    Run the following from the $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/opca dir
    ptlasst.bat -mode SSOPARTNERCONFIG -i typical -sdad portal -host myApache.domain.com -port 7777 -silent -verbose
    NOTE:
    (1) This command would create a new Portal partner application in the SSO to reflect the changes of the Infrastructure. Before running this command please ensure to configure the SSO with the correct hostname by running the ssocfg.bat script located in the Infrastructure install (<infra_home>\sso\bin).
    The value for -host parameter will be the IP address of the infrastructure server and -port will be the port where the infrastructure http server is running on.
    Configuring Portal when the HTTP server host name of the Middle tier is changed
    ptlasst.bat -mode MIDTIER -i typical -host myApache.domain.com -port 7777 -ldap_h myOID.domain.com -ldap_p 389 -ldap_w welcome -pwd secret123 -portal_only -oh /home/oracle -chost myHostname.domain.com -cport_i 8001 -cport_a 8000 -wc_i_pwd invalidator -mc false -mi true -silent -verbose
    NOTE :
    (1) The -host value should match the serverName value of the httpd.conf
    (2) The -chost should be updated with the correct webcache hostname. In a default iAS midtier install the -host is same as the -chost.
    The value for -host parameter will be the IP address of the midtier(portal) server and -port will be the port where the portal is running on.
    Parameter Description Default Value Mandatory
    -i install_type Installation Type
    In the typical mode, the OPCA would get the Infrastructure information like the Portal schema name, Portal schema password, connect string to the Portal repository, SSO Partner application schema and password, SSO Password store schema and password and connect string to the SSO repository from the Repository Access API's.
    In the custom mode, the OPCA would take whatever is passed as the command line arguments.

  • Themes for Standalone WebDynPro

    Hello All,
    If I use the Theme Editor for editing default themes for WebDynPro application that I am developing, then, does the new Themes showup on my standalone WebDynPro application? ( I mean, its not deployed as a portal component on EP, rather its just run on WebAS by saying "Deploy and Run")
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
    Develop this theme and then you need to copy that theme inside the folder, <Drive>:usr\sap\<system id>\JC<instance num>\j2ee\cluster\server0\temp\webdynpro\web\sap.com\tcwddispwda\global\SSR\themes
    Then, in webdynpro url, append following to set your theme to that webdynpro application.
    sap-cssurl=http://<Server IP>:<port>/webdynpro/resources/sap.com/tcwddispwda/global/SSR/themes/<theme name>

  • Location of custom themes in Portal 7.4

    Hi,
    Our Portal is upgraded from 7.01 to 7.4 recently.We are using the good old portal theme editor.(UI Theme Designer from portal is not activated). I  Created a theme based on a standard theme. In the earlier versions of the portal,all the theme related files(images,CSS etc) are stored in the following location in the file system of the portal server
    <harddrive>\usr\sap\<instance>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\portalapps\com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata\themes\portal\
    There used to be  folder for each theme in the above location.But in the 7.4 portal, I did not see the custom theme folder under the above mentioned location, However, it shows some standard SAP themes and the custom themes that were existent before upgrade, But not the new custom theme that I created post upgrade, Does anyone know where new custom themes are stored in portal 7.4,when they are created by using the theme editor.
    Regards
    Veera

    Hi Veera,
    You can find newly created custom theme under WRR(Web Resource Repository), which is newly introduced in new release like 7.4 you are using. It provides a single storage location for all portal application resources and branding resources and enables NW Portal administrators to upload, download, view, and modify these resources, without the need to redeploy applications to see the results of the modifications.
    You can find custom themes under:
    Portal -> Content Administration -> Web Resource Repository -> Portal Content -> Web Resources -> theming -> Portal -> "Your custome theme"
    All custom theme resouces are saved here. But please remember only custom themes are saved in WRR.And you can easily download these theme files like .css file. You can refer to below link for more information:

  • How to call custom themes for Web Dynpro ABAP Application?

    Hi,
    I need to change the appearance of Web Dynpro ABAP application. So far I followed below steps,
    1.     Created theme folder u2018testngou2019 (SE80->MIME Repositoty -> SAP->PUBLIC->BC->UR->nw5->themes -> u2018testngou2019 ).
    2.     used program BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS to dowmloaod content of  u2018sap_tradeshowu2019 (SE80->MIME Repositoty -> SAP->PUBLIC->BC->UR->nw5->themes -> sap_tradeshowu2019) to desktop.
    3.     Modified the themes using Eclipse Theme Editor.
    4.     used program BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS to upload modified themes to MIME repository u2018testngou2019  (SE80->MIME Repositoty -> SAP->PUBLIC->BC->UR->nw5->themes ->  u2018testngou2019) .
    My current URL is like http://server.name:XXXX/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hrrcf_a_startpage_int_cand?sap-client=XXX.
    Now I want to know how custom themes called for Web Dynpro ABAP Application.
    Is my approach correct?
    ...Naddy

    Hi Naddy,
    What you used is one way and even I failed when tried that method,
    Instead go to SE38 - WD_THEMES - and you need to upload the zip file and you need to follow a folder structure.
    it is case sensitive, atleast the zip file.
    Make a zip file by name "Project.zip" -
    Create a Folder Project and have the below folder structure,
    1  data - all the properties files and also the designinfo file, below is the code
    2  themes - (to get all the files download the theme from portal and you will have all the folders)
       2.1  ur
         2.1.1 name of the theme
           2.1.1.1 common
           2.1.1.2 csf
           2.1.1.3  r
           2.1.1.4  ur - all the css files (would be good if you can get the files from the server.)
           2.1.1.5   WSRP
    3  war - empty folder
    *.designinfo
    isVisible=true
    version=7.0.14.1.0
    isDefault=false
    isSapDesign=false
    designName=**** name of the theme
    Once done create a zip file and click on Start Import and give the path and will ask for transport request, it will take a while to upload once done as mentioned in the use the parameter sap-ep-themeroot="path"
    This will resolve the issue.
    Cheers-

  • CUA as data source for portal UME

    Hi all
    We want to use the CUA system as the data source for our EP6's UME.
    Obviously our end users do not login to the CUA system and therefore have no password to this system. It doesn't seem rational to provide them a password to this system, but then again which password will they use?
    I'm guessing that this is the case for most of the SAP customers.
    Does this mean that we can't use the CUA as the UME data source?
    If any of you use the CUA as the UME, we'd be very glad to hear your solution to this situation (we can't use one of the child systems as the UME).
    Thanks,
    Yeti

    Hi Yeti,
    My remarks below will not answer your question but it will help you with some decision on your UME data source.
    As far as I know, most Portal use LDAP as their main UME datasource. This is largely due to the fact that LDAP contains ALL the users that are "employee" of the company. As for CUA, it does not contain ALL your users which could pose a problem for you when you want to execute certain Portal functions (or management approval flows) which require users who does not exist in your CUA (but exist in LDAP).

    But there are also setup that uses CUA as their UME. I have linked some of the past threads who use CUA as their UME. I hope they can shine some light to your question. You can do a search here in the forum with "CUA UME portal" and you will also find posts that can help answer your question.

    And by introduction of SAP note 2016674 (SPS13) it is no longer possible to use SAP Corbu in the portal version of UI Theme Designer. They updated SAP note 1783618 to reflect the same. I guess I have to start migrating to Gold Reflection...

  • EREC: theme for Web Dynpro ABAP pages (external candidate)

    Hello,
    I have created a custom theme in the SAP Netweaver Portal for my customer and now I have the requirement to use the same theme for my stand-alone Web Dynpro ABAP applications (pages for the external candidate). Is it possible to use the same stylesheet as in the portal, without having to recreate a theme?
    I tried several options, but none of them did work:
    A. Downloading the portal theme as a ZIP file and then uploading it in ERP using the report BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS (after unzipping) to a location /SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/nw5/themes/CUSTOM_THEME. After that, I call my application with the additional URL parameter sap-wd-themeroot=/SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/nw5/themes/CUSTOM_THEME but it does not work (the app is displayed with the default sap_tradeshow stylesheet)
    B. I also tried calling my app using the URL parameter sap-cssurl=/SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/nw5/themes/CUSTOM_THEME but here again, it does not work (the app is displayed with the default sap_tradeshow stylesheet)
    C. Downloading the portal theme as a ZIP file and then uploading it (zipped) using the report WD_THEMES, but here I receive the error "no themes found in the ZIP file". I have the same error if I upload only the ur.zip I receive from the portal (instead of uploading the whole *.zip file)
    I checked the UR versions both in portal & ERP, and we had a lower version in the portal than in the ERP, so we upgraded the portal version according to SAP note 1446099. Now we have a higher version in the portal than in the ERP. We regenrated the portal theme and downloaded it again, but with the same result.
    Does anyone have an idea what could be the solution to our problem?
    Thanks in advance!

    I would recommend to try another way. If it is possible to access any SAP Portal from outside you can use two URL Parameters to integrate the Portal style sheets in a standalone WDA application. The parameter sap-cssurl contains the absolute URL address to the style sheet and parameter sap-cssversion the current SAP Portal style sheet version. For all external facing scenarios it is important to use the whitelist mechanism to block unknown URLs.
    Example
    ?sap-cssurl=http://myportal.myserver.com:50000/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/mytheme/ur/ur_ie6.css
    &sap-cssversion=7.11.5.20.0
    I canu2019t recommend to raise manually the version number. You will not get an consistent system this way. The meta data (project.zip) are outdated and of course you will get an outdated theme.

  • Requirments for portal creation

    hi experts,
    i am new  in portal development.i have requirment to create a portal and run the web dynpro abap component in portal..
    so please let me know what is basic requirments to create portal ..or the development kit that i can install and use for portal development?
    i got various document related to development kit but each has the use of java,.and as per my requirment i sud use abap or javascript

    Hi swati,
    What do you mean with "create a portal"? You have several options to develop applications for EP, like WebDynpros (ABAP or J2EE based), IACs (Internet Services defined on R/3), Composite Applications with Visual Composer and so on.
    What's your R/3 and EP versions? If you want to run R/3 transactions, you should use Internet Services through IAC iviews. If you develop webdynpro apps, you have to use webdynpro iviews to integrate them on portal.
    If you use WebDynpro ABAP, you can use SE80 on R/3 to develop. For WebDynpor Java, you may use SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio or Eclipse.
    If you define services oriented applications, you can use Visual Composer environment.
    Hope this helps,
    Iván.

  • Patchset 3 application for portal upgrades

    i was just wondering ... has anybody applied the patchset 3 for portal upgrades - for 3.0.9 to 9.0.4 portals? .... while my experience on these forums is quite frustrating as no body replies usually ... yet if anyone has done it then i would like to know about this patchset results.
    - did it go smoothly? specially the second part
    - did you restore the files and folders manually after applying the repository update? the list of files ... that are given for manual restoration. is it essential to restore them for complete application of this patchset? the long long documentation is ambiguous about it.
    - how did you restart the portal.

    thank you for the message.
    i asked for the experience because the long documentation in this patchset 3 tells us neither to try to access the portal application, nor to retry the patch set, if it fails in the second part of it. there is also no way to uninstall patchset 3 or any of its parts. in that scenario, they only recommend contacting the Oracle support.
    the documentation seemed a little unclear at best because it did not hint or mention about restoring files and folders after the application of the patchset in the part of documentation before application steps. it asks you to do this only after these steps that restore files and folders - some automatically and some need to be done manually. it recommends the backup at many different stages for all the system. so i did not restore those files manually because i did not have a complete back up and missed a few files. so my mistake!!
    it did not fix the error wwc-41417. i restarted all services and components but on trying to login to the portal i got it again. but it is hard to conclude if it only happened because the files were not restored.
    that is why i asked about other people's experience if they have applied it.
    how did you apply it?
