There is no "add tab or + tab" and no "list all tabs" button. I'm also missing the add-on bar that is supposed to be at the bottom. I'd love to try all the features but it's hard to do without these options.

The first day I downloaded Firefox 4, I had the "+" tab at the end of the tabs but after the first day, it disappeared so to open new tabs, I have to go to the Firefox tab on the left or use ctrl+t to open new tabs.
The "list all tabs" button appears sporadically and today is completely unavailable.
The add-on bar has never been available.
The "feedback" button appeared the first day or so then disappeared, never to appear again!

Create a new profile exclusively for the Firefox 4 version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

    I have repeatedly installed and uninstalled Microsoft Silverlight, I have followed every thing out there and uninstalled from various folders.  It still states the program is there and it won't run.  This is also happening with my coupon printer that word

    Copied from a page that helped me:
    I followed someone else's advice and found all the silverlight files in "INVISIBLE FILES".
    In the Finder, choose File > Find or press Command (⌘)-F.
    From the far-left pop-up menu (labeled “Kind”), choose Other.
    In the list of search attributes, select the “File invisible” checkbox, and then click OK.
    In the related menu, choose Invisible Items.
    once loaded go to folder Private
    then to folder VAR
    then folder db
    then folder Receipts
    scroll to any com.microsoft.silverlight item and delete. there are a bunch of them.
    close, restart and install silverlight.

    Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/

  • So, you don't support the Zigna tool bar that is used by millions of people?

    So, you don't support the Zigna tool bar that is used by millions of people?

    You have that "support" thing a bit backwards. Toolbar add-ons need to support particular versions of Firefox, not the other way around. Each add-on developer is responsible for keeping his add-on compatible with new versions of Firefox as they are released. That said, if it worked in Firefox 4, it should work in Firefox 5 - and probably needs a minor "bump" to get it working. Yiu can use this extension to give it that "bump". <br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ <br />
    This extension doesn't actually '''"fix"''' anything, it just allows add-ons to be enabled in a new version of Firefox for "testing compatibility" purposes.
    If you skipped Firefox 4, and are talking about a Toolbar that last worked in Firefox 3.6.x - there is little chance that "bumping" compatibility is going help you, there were too many changes between Firefox 3.6.x and Firefox 4.0 and there's probably like a 2% chance that it will work in Firefox 5.

    cor-el, thank you so much. That fixed it, but does this mean I can't use AVG Safe Search.Is there a substitute? I do like the security (hopefully real) that it offers. What now? How do I get out of Safe Mode?

  • How do I get my ipad to find the wireless HP printer that is supposed to be compatible w/ Air Print

    How do I get my ipad to find the wireless HP printer that is supposed to be compatible w/ Air Print?

    Mary-
    First be sure your printer is on Apple's list of AirPrint compatible printers at <iOS: AirPrint 101>.
    Assuming it is on that list, check to see if there is a firmware update for it.  You should be able check it from the printer's control panel in one of the setup or preferences menus.
    If the printer is still not found in the iPad's print routine, your WiFi router may not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint.  You would need to contact the router's manufacturer to see if there is a change you can make to its setup, or if there is a firmware update that will solve the problem.

  • Where do i get the free iWork download that was suppose to be released Thursday?

    Where do i get the free iWork download that was suppose to be released Thursday?

    iWork isn't free. It is free as an upgrade to those who have the Mavericks versions installed on their Macs when they upgrade to Yosemite. If you don't own iWork already, then they are paid apps on Yosemite.

  • How can I eliminate the pointless top bar, close up the spaces between bars that are wasting space and reduce the depth of the tabs so that I have the space I had before for the websites I am looking at?

    I have updated to the latest form of Mozilla Firefox, and the top of the screen is altered so that it occupies far more space than it used to do, leaving far less space for what I want to look at. Why are there spaces between bars? Why are the tabs deeper than they used to be or need to be? How can I eliminate the pointless top bar which merely duplicates the information in the tab bar? Is there any way of simply restoring the previous arrangement?

    Okay, I accept that this is just how it is, and there is nothing to be done about it, because no-one except me thinks that the icons and toolbars should be organised to take up minimum space in order to allocate maximum space to the page.
    The crowning irony of all this is that, having updated to the latest Mozilla Firefox and consequently having this arrangement at the top of the page which I don't like, the middle of the page now comes up with its old message, 'You are not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade now.'
    Computers are very odd. :(

  • How can I remove the Loading Progress Bar that pops-up at the bottom of the screen and relocates its self every time i try to mouse over it ?

    I noticed that the latest beta of Firefox has brought a new feature, namely that grey box that pops up when you load a new page and displays the progress : loading... transferring .. and so on. I find that very annoying. How can I remove it ?
    I have tried from the Customize panel... but I haven't found anything related to that.

    @cor-el: Thank you for your help. Got the issue fixed.
    For those who are interested in a quick fix for this, go under (user profile depending on what OS you are using)\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\chrome , create a css file named userChrome.css (you have an example there... ) and paste in this code :
    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");
    #statusbar-display { display: none !important; }
    Not sure if it's really correct, but it removed that annoying Status-bar, so I'm satisfied with it.

  • Love Aperture 3's new features, but finding it too slow to be usable.

    About a year ago I took on photography as a serious hobby, and have been looking for a good photo management program. I have a Nikon D300s camera and started with the nView software, before upgrading to Photoshop CS4. Bridge was fast, but a bit too utilitarian for my liking so I began looking into alternatives like Lightroom 3 and Aperture 3. My goal is to find a program that is quick, responsive, and capable of performing the majority of my basic editing, while allowing me to maintain a nicely organized photo library. I shoot in the .RAW format and have about 7k photos in a referenced library. I have installed all system updates, including the prokit update.
    So as the title suggest, I love almost everything about the new Aperture. Its interface is beautiful, photo organization is a snap, and it has some very powerful editing tools. That being said, it is unbearably slow. Brush edits can take up to 3-5 minutes to show, while the brush tool tip chunks around the screen. Even showing the color overlay can take a few minutes. Zooming into a photo can also take upwards to 2-3 minutes. If I have made more then a few adjustments, toggling them on and off can take a minute or longer.
    During these delays, I don't get a beach balls, but my computer slows to a crawl. According to Apertures activity center it is "processing." Some times it is so many processes behind, that I wonder if it is processing adjustments that I have already changed. Bringing up the activity monitor usually shows that cpu usage is 40% or below, with Aperture rarely taking more than 2.5gb of RAM.
    I have tried all the tricks I have read about online, faces off, places off, preview sized maxed out, preview size minimized, prokit update, deleting cache files, starting new libraries with fewer pictures, and creating Steve Jobs effigies to place around the office. It feels like I have tried it all. I am even willing to format my computer and start from scratch, even though everything but aperture runs great.
    My trial is about to run out again and I am just so frustrated. I want to buy this program, but at the moment the lightroom 3 beta runs circles around it performance wise. Is there anything I haven't tried that might make Aperture useable?

    I share your frustration.
    I am in love with Aperture's features, its workflow, and its OS integration. But I can't live with its behavior. I postponed my final decision to put Aperture on the shelf until this week, when my new MacBook Pro arrived. I bought the latest model, Core i7, 8GB RAM, 1TB HD. I have 700MB of free space on my new HD, and there is no fragmentation. You could say that I have about as snappy a system as Apple makes these days.
    Using A3 on this system is generally OK. But working with the retouching brush, while a lightyear better than my late 2008 MacBook Pro, is still dreadful. I want to use the retouching brush to remove blemishes and wrinkles from photos of women. This usually requires lots of small brush strokes. After the first few brush strokes, A3 slows down to the point of frustration. It takes about 20 seconds for the effects of the brush stroke to appear, which makes it not a productive use of my time.
    I don't understand the constant need for Aperture to be "processing" something in the Activity window, but I've learned that when it's processing, you can't really get anything else done.
    Exporting versions to disk is the final indignity. It's usually the last thing I do before quitting a session in Aperture. Yesterday, I wanted to export two retouched files to JPG for an email proof. This took several minutes for my MBP to complete. Lightroom's beta version completes the task in a few seconds.
    Inexcusably bad performance on my high end hardware.
    Sorry Aperture, but I'm back to Lightroom and Photoshop. I'll check back when Apple releases Aperture 3.1 and hope they figure this out.

  • Removing the top most bar that shows Firefox logo, min/max option and 'x' to close window

    How do I run Firefox with the top most bar which has the Firefox logo on left and the "minimize window", maximize" and the "X" that closes the window? (Windows 7 - 64 bits and Linux).
    Thanks!

    Firefox's "full screen" view does that automatically. You can use the F11 function key to enter and exit full screen mode.
    By default, the tab bar and Navigation Toolbar also are hidden in full screen view. To keep those displayed, move your mouse pointer to the top of the screen and they should slide down temporarily. Right-click a blank area of the tab bar or right-click the new tab ("+") button and uncheck "Hide Toolbars". When you move your mouse away, they should stay on the screen.
    Is that closer to what you're looking for?

  • Thanks For Your Support in advance i want to know that when I open a website that time view print option and when I click close button then page also new window page also close. I want to copy it how i can stop this print option?

    WHEN I OPEN A URL THAT TIME WITH PAGE OPEN SHOWS PRINT OPTION AND WHEN I CLICK CLOSE BUTTON OF PRINT OPTION THAT TIME NEW WINDOW BUTTON IS CLOSED. I WANT TO CLOSE ONLY PRINT OPTION. PLEASE HELP ME...............THANKS

    Many sites which offer specific "print formatted" pages do that: they assume that once you have finished with the print dialog you no longer want the page itself. So for your convenience they close it. Not so convenient for you, since you still want to view the page.
    I'm not aware of an easy solution for this. I can think of a couple different approaches.
    First, maybe there's an add-on to solve this? That would be easiest.
    Second, maybe there's a userscript to solve this?
    The Greasemonkey add-on runs userscripts which you can copy or download. Be careful to install only long-establish and trusted scripts. (''Is there a site that has this bad behavior that I can view without logging in? I will test one of my existing scripts to see whether it helps.'')
    Third, Firefox has an old system for restricting site permissions in a custom text file in your profile folder (named user.js). Editing this file is a bit advanced, and I haven't been able to test it, but the system works along these lines:
    <br>// Define a policy name for window.close permission
    // (assumes you don't have this pref already)
    user_pref("capability.policy.policynames", "nowindowclose");
    // Define policy: disable sites from using window.close
    // in their scripts
    user_pref("capability.policy.nowindowclose.Window.close", "noAccess");
    // List of sites subject to this policy
    user_pref("capability.policy.nowindowclose.sites", "firstbadsite.com secondbadsite.com");
    Again, I haven't tested that and recommend looking into add-ons first.

  • Well, in two weeks I have gone through 2 mini's.   The first had a 1 inch wide shaded zone top to bottom.  Apple replaced it .  Now, the replacement has started with white flickering lines at the bottom. anyone else exper. probs?

    The Ipad mini replacement (the first had a 1 inch shaded band running down it - and Apple replaced it.  Now my new one has a flickering set of lines at the bottom of the screen.  I reset adn reloaded, powered it down and up and still there.  Seems likely to be a hardware issue - just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.   Nothing unusual - havre Mac Airbook, two other older ipads and iphone and all are fine - no issues charging or such.

    You must be at the end of the bell shaped curve for device problems.  There's always someone who experiences this, and unfortuantely you are the rare user to be annointed by the gods of bad luck.
    I read many Apple forums, and your story is indeed rare.  Just like the person who wins the lotto, there are those who play all their lives and never win anything, not even $1.00.  I'm sure you get the picture.  I had a similar experience many decades ago, only with a car (or cars).  Not fun and not funny.

    This is Adobe Premieres of telling you that you are at the end of the sequence. If you hate it as much as we all do please send a feature request to get it removed. The bar will not be there on any exported file.
