There is still a version for mac osx 10.6.8?

Hello,
Unfortunately, there is the Apple Store iBooks Author for 10.7.4. Unfortunately, I have on my MacBookPro only 10.6.8. This can still obtain a version of iBooks Author? If so - how and where ....
Daniela

So much users here, click on this topic (38), but no one can give me an answer .... funny.
Is there not here on the net is a version of iBooks Author running under 10.6.8?
But must still be here somewhere an older version ....
Please reply if one knows something ..

Plenty, but none of them really necessary. 10.6.8 has it's own in-built system. Just keep the security updates up to date to cover the latest malware quarantine definitions.

  • Flash player version for mac osx 10.5.8

have downloaded flashplayer removal update and restarted computer. what version of flash player do I now download for mac osx 10.5.8. i have dedicated today to sort this out please help me!

    I think you need a 10.x version (probably 10.3.183.10).
Here's Adobe's Archive of old flash players.  Scroll down.  There's a 10.3.183.20 in the list.  It downloads a zip with both windows and mac versions.  After expanding you can fish out the mac version.

  • Security update Flash version for Mac OSX 10.5.8 won't install

I lost my ability to view Ustream live streaming and recorded videos on Sept. 12, 2013, in both Safari and Firefox. The screen is solid black, and if I right click I get "Movie not loaded..." I read about the Sept.10 Security Update for Flash Player, so I uninstalled version fp_10.3.183.90 and attempted to install version fp_11.7.700.242. The installation failed every time, so I returned to the older one. On Sept. 13 I downloaded Google Chrome and it worked, but today, Sept. 14, I see the message "Flash is out of date," and no video.
I have a Macmini2,1 with 1 Intel Processor and 2 Cores, made in 2007, I think. OS Leopard, 10.5.8 (64-bit). My Safari is version 5.0.6, Firefox 9.0.1 and Chrome 21.0.1180.90.
I spend a lot of time on Ustream, so this is a big setback... please help!

Firefox is on version 23.1 now (I believe it WILL run on Leopard), and Chrome is on 29 (I can't be sure of that because I've uninstalled it from EVERY LAST machine I own and will NEVER use it again).
THAT may have something to do with it. Safari 5 is the newest that will run on 10.5, and unfortunately the LATEST Flash Player WON'T run on Leopard.
The reason is that OS 10.5 was the LAST Universal Binary OS Mac released (it runs on Intel or Power PC Macs) Becaue of that, it uses a different acrhitecture and the Flash Player is different from an "Intel only" build. Websites will continue to update, requiring the latest Player, and that will lead to obsolescence of your Flash Player (and your OS). THAT'S the bad news.
The GOOD news is: Because your Mac is Intel powered, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.8) for $20 through Apple (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard), and THAT will allow you to run a LOAD of software that requires 10.6 or newer.

  • Photoshop 7.0 for Mac OSX

I bought Photoshop 7.0 for my Mac OSX and it won't install. The site I bought it from won't return it because the package is open. (duh, I have to open it to install it) but I get a message saying my computer does not support PowerPC. I specifically bought the version for Mac OSX and when I put the disk in. the install icon looks strange and won't work. Is there something I can do to get it to install? I spent $250 on this program and since I can't return it I was hoping to find a way to make it work. The owner of the site I bought from is not being very cooperative about returns. Thanks

Photoshop 7 is a PowerPC app. That means it was designed for a processor (IBM PowerPC) that Apple discontinued NINE years ago, and ended all support for more than four years ago.  If you have a Mac newer than 2009 there is no way to install this app, because it would require "Rosetta" which Apple stopped supporting with OS 10.7. "Rosetta" allowed PPC apps to run in an emulated environment, and Photoshop was one one that ran terribly in Rosetta, so it would be pretty much a waste of time to try.
You would be best to try to sell it on ebay and recoup some of your money, but there is no way you'll ever use this with a Mac newer than 2009.

    Yeap, as Steve says...
Your best bet, if you really want to run the current trial

This is probably the best answer, but if you have your heart set on Internet Exploiter, you need to visit http://mac.oldapps.com/
They have plenty of old versions of apps, including IE

We just downloaded Oracle 10G release 1 for Mac OSX. However, we would like to know when Oracle will announce an updated version for Mac OSX (10G release 2) on Intel. Any news on this?

'''''The good news''''' is that Firefox 3.6.24 still supports OSX 10.4 and Macs with the PPC Mac architecture. '''''The bad news''''' is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

Since August 2012 updates for Java (and especially Java Runtime Environment, which is what you actually need) must now be downloaded direct from Oracle:

    (which is for Java 7)

The recently discovered zero-day flaw in Java 7 is so serious that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has warned users to disable or uninstall it, and Apple has disabled the Java 7 plugin on Macs through its OS X anti-malware system, in order to protect users from a potentially serious security issue.
You should disable Java (if not already done) until either the US Department of Homeland Security, or Oracle, declare it safe and Apple restore the facility. Oracle have released an update said to fix the security flaw, available from here:

Javascript should not be disabled (it has nothing to do with Java).

I've just installed Java for Mac OSX 10.5 Update 10 and can no longer run Java Applets from Firefox 5.0

    Dear Craig,
Macbook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB RAM
I'm sure that this is 64-bit
    CF 8.0.1 Enterprise Build 3080
I had moved the Java SE 6 to the top in both Plugin and Applications. The
correct version is showing in the terminal window. See below.
Last login: Thu Jun 18 11:27:09 on ttys001
    Beta-4:~ Colin$ java -version
    java version "1.6.0_13"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03-211)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.3-b02-83, mixed mode)
    Beta-4:~ Colin$
CF will not start. I have the activity monitor open, and when I start CF you
see it in the activity monitor for a few seconds as it starts up. When the
message process is completed in the terminal window CF disappears in the
    activity monitor.
    Any suggestions?
    C
    Hi, Colin,
My apologies but I forgot to ask 2 questions: (1) What kind of Mac you have
(Intel or PowerPC)? (2) What version of CF are you running and what installer
    did you choose (8 or 8.0.1, 32-bit, 64-bit, etc.)?
    To start, try the following:
    1. Normally you'd shut CF down first ... but that's not necessary for you
    2. Open Java Preferences again
    3. Select Java SE 6 and move it (drag) to the top spot in both section (Applet
    Plugin and Applications)
    4. Open Terminal
    5. Type java -version (you should see 1.6.0_13 as the new version)
    6. Try to start CF again
This may not work (I've had issues with it) but it's technically how it's
supposed to work. With the Java Preferences utility, you're visually setting a
default JVM (you can do it with commands in Terminal but this is much faster
    and easier).
If CF still won't start, look for the jvm.config file in your CF application
    folder (try /Applications/ColdFusion8/bin or
    /Applications/ColdFusion8/runtime/bin -- the latter is where a jvm.config file
is on my machine for a particular version of CF that's installed similar to
yours). You can override the JVM in this file but, hopefully, that won't be
    necessary!
    Best,
    Craig

  • Reinstall Flash CS3 for Mac OSX

Recently had to replace the hard drive on my Mac Book Pro. Data transfer to the new hard drive went well EXCEPT for my attempts to reinstall Flash CS3 and Flash Player (I'm forgetting the name of the latest and greatest version of the media player--forgive my temporary ignorance). I followed all of the procedures outlined in the ReadMe file. Have tried it several times to no avail. I keep getting an error message at the end of the reinstall process and the program will not open. All of the application files appear to be on my hard rive. Something is missing or needs to be repaired. I just don't know where to start to find out what needs to be repaired or replaced or updated. I suspect that because there have been numerous updates to Flash player, something related is interfering with the reinstall process. Any advice help would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

Mike, thank you very much for your help. Luckily I have found the
    right Flash version: 10.1.102.64

    You'll find a debug folder and a 10.3.183.90 folder. It's in the
    latter. It'll be a DMG named 10_3_183_90.dmg.
