Thin JDBC Driver is missing some rows from resultset

Hi All
I am faced with a peculiar problem.
When I fire a SQL query using Toad, I get correct results but firing the same query using JDBC Driver - ojdbc14.jar (ORacle 11g R1) - we are getting lesser number of records.
Our SQL pulls around 300k of records and buckets them based on some column value into different chunks. We use NTILE function and it shows right results in TOAD.
Using same sql with JDBC, We are losing 100 rows per bucket.
Any ideas?
SQL is
SELECT
T.CTLG_ITM_ID as catalogItemIds,
T.INV_STAT_TYP_ID,
T.OORD_DT,
T.LST_UPDT_DTTM,
T.CTLG_ITM_SELL_TYP_ID,
P.OORD_IND,
C.BKORD_ELIG,
NTILE(300) over (ORDER BY T.CTLG_ITM_ID) AS bucketId
FROM
INV_STAT_ROLLUP_T T,
PRD_T P,
CTLG_T C,
CTLG_TREE_PATH_T TP
WHERE
T.CTLG_ITM_ID = TP.CTLG_ITM_ID AND
TP.PAR_CTLG_ITM_ID = P.CTLG_ITM_ID AND
C.BRD_CD = '10'
As per toad, each bucket should get us 1038 records but Thin JDBC Driver is fetching us only 898 records.
Any idea why this discrepancy?
Thanks

There IS no ojdbc14.jar for Oracle 11g. The minimum is Java 5. So correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to be using a very old driver here. I would try a newer one if I were you.

    URGENT!Can I user a THIN jdbc driver to access a CLOB field from oracle 8.0.5 DB?

    I think you'd need to contact Oracle support to get access to older versions of the driver.
    Since 8.0.5 isn't supported any longer, however, is it possible for you to update your Oracle client to one of the supported releases-- 8.1.7 or 9i?

    Please help.Hi. Any weblogic server can be used with any JDBC driver. Just upgrade the
    JDBC driver to the latest/best one for Oracle9i, and make sure it's the first
    thing in the server's weblogic.classpath (not the java.classpath). I recommend the
    thin driver. Because it's all java, it is much more reliable. There is no known
    issue with standard JDBC with that or any other driver. Some non-standard Oracle
    calls which arer available from Oracle's driver classes are available through
    weblogic, and some are not.

  • Thick vs. Thin JDBC Driver

    Hi!
    I was just wondering where to find some info about
    the advantages / disadvantages of the Thick and Thin JDBC drivers, please, and some bachground about those drivers (what is the differnence etc).
    In particular I would like to know whether Thick drivers are errorprone and mix up the contents of threads. Is this so according to your experience?
    I would also like to know which one is the recommended driver to use if speed is an issue...
    We use Oracle 8.1.7.4.0 and Websphere Application Server 4.04
    Thanks a lot!

  • How can i select some row from multiple row in the same group of data

    I want to select some row from multiple row in the same group of data.
    ColumnA
    Column B

    3                          OK
    3                          OK
    I want the row of group of

    2                   NG

    That's some awful explanation, but I think this is what you were driving at:
    DECLARE @forumTable TABLE (a INT, b CHAR(2))
    INSERT INTO @forumTable (a, b)
    VALUES
    (1, 'OK'),(1, 'NG'),
    (2, 'NG'),(2, 'NG'),
    (3, 'OK'),(3, 'OK')
    SELECT f.a, MIN(COALESCE(f2.b,f.b)) AS b
    FROM @forumTable f
    LEFT OUTER JOIN @forumTable f2
    ON f.a = f2.a
    AND f.b <> f2.b
    GROUP BY f.a

    My iPad air is missing some apps from my phone. It keeps saying, " there is not enough storage available to download...." I purchased additional storage twice, my device now shows 18GB free of a total 25GB, and still I cannot download apps I've had for yrs

    You need more local storage; free up space on iPad:

  • Randomly selecting some rows from the database table

    Hi can some one help me in selecting some rows from a database table which has around 90,000 rows.
    Thanks.

    One thing you might try is the "sample" clause if you have 8i which is supposed to return a random percentage of the table. Say for example, you have a sequence number on your table as the pkey. Then you might try:
    select * from <table_name> where pkey in(select pkey from <table_name> sample(10));
    This should give you a random 10 percent of the rows in the table but I tried this once and the results seemed unpredictable. For example it returned a different number of rows each time even though the number of rows in the table didn't change.
    Hope this works for you.

  • Spy for oracle thin jdbc driver

    Does anyone know a good spy utility to intercept the
    query going to the database thru oracle thin jdbc driver?

    If you can post the code, I would be happy to look at. I'm not aware of any 'trapping' mechanism for JDBC, although there may be one. Are you confident that you are 'waiting' on the execute of the SQL? It's very unusual for nothing to happen. In most cases, I would expect a long running query, or that you are getting, but not catching an Exception. Code would help if that's possible...

  • I miss some pages from My Notes APP duaring backup

    I miss some pages from my NOTES APP during backup

    Hi laurenfrommotown!
    I feel like the best option for you now will be to restore from any backups you may have in order to get that note back onto your iPhone. We have an article that talks about backups and how to restore from one, and it can be found right here:
    iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    Keep in mind that if the note is stored on a sync server, such as Gmail or Yahoo!, it is likely to not be stored in the backup, and therefore, might not appear back onto your phone. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

  • Can i count row from ResultSet ?

    I would like to count row from ResultSet for
    take it into my array object because i must know number of row before create array object.
    Example:
    ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery("select * from user ");
    /*i = amount of ResultSet*/
    User[] user = new User;
    int l=0;
    while (rset.next()){
    user[l] = new User();
    user.name = rset.getString(1);
    l++;

    Hi,
    As per my knowledge there is no method by which you can get the count of items in a resultset directly. You will have to loop through the reseltset and set a variable for count. In your specific case I would advise you to use a Vetor instead of an array so that you need not bother about the size.
    ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery("select * from user ");
    Vector user = new Vector();
    while (rset.next()){
    user.addElement(rset.getString(1));
    Now you will have a Vector that holds the user info. To retrieve the user info loop through the Vector.
    for (int i; i<user.size(); i++){
    userName = user.elementAt(i);
    Hope I was of some help.
    cheers!!!

  • Random Row From ResultSet

    Hi, i need some help on this:
    First, my JSP will query a database table and return a resultset that contains a lot of records. Is there a way to randomly choose ONE of the record from resultset ?
    Number of records return by the resultset is dynamic (always change), so, is there a way to store all the records into array first?
    Or do you have any other suggestions ?
    Thank you !

    Better way is to create a Bean for the row returned by the Result Set. For example your result set return 2 columns i.e. ID and Name then your bean should have getter and setter methods for the columns and repeating the loop for the Result set store each returned row in the bean and then store this bean in the Collection. This is better way to work with it.

  • Retrieving the entire row from ResultSet

    Hi All,
    I am using SQL database and wants to get the data from tables as rows instead of columns. Please let me know if any of you know how to retrieve the rows from table using ResultSet.
    Thanks.

    you would need a loop like this:
    for( int i = 0; i < resultset.getMetadata().getColumnCount(); i++ )
      System.out.print( resultSet.getXXX( i ) );
    }That will print out the row

  • Oracle thin JDBC driver BUG-2285052, how to solve it ?

    Hi, use ResultSet.getString to get a nchar type String from databaase, it will return the proper value.
    eg, a 254 size column , it will return more char as needed !!
    please check next from jdbc readme file. anyone can give me a temp solution ?
    BUG-2285052 (since 9.2.0.1)
    Extra space and null characters are returned by ResultSet.getString() and Scrollable ResultSet getString() for NCHAR column when the database national character set is UTF8. This behavior occurs only with JDBC THIN driver.

  • Report missing some data from dataset

    Hi
    I populate my report using a dataset and most of the time the report generation is successful.
    but after a while (3-5 reports) I start getting missing data in the report. Either the png blobs do not get printed or some other string fields. Usually the same strings are missing.
    If I continue generating reports after that I get "report could not be submitted for background processing" error or since I use some fields for formatting I get errors corresponding to those formulas where I try to use the missing fields.
    I have checked the dataset before SetDataSource and it is complete, images and all.
    Is there some way to restart the embedded crystal reports thread/process programmatically from c#? if the problem is because of memory fragmentation, this might solve the problem.
    I use crystal reports basic 2008 for visual studio 2008.
    Kind regards
    //Gunnar

    In a memory intensive environment like this, it is possible that we will run into these issues. The thing is - as I understand these tings, Microsoft does not let a 3rd party just go out and use the dataset. E.g.; the Crystal Reports engine is forced to make a copy of the dataset and use that. So, now you've chewed up more memory again. It would be interesting to do four things;
    1) monitor the memory and see if there is a particular value at which it is more likely to get the issue
    2) take out the report and dataset into another sample app that is not using these x-rays and see if you duplicate the issue there
    3) see if CR 2008 (12.x) handles the memory better. As these versions go, there are always improvements. I am not aware of a particular "thing" done to the report engine or database engine in this respect, but it may be worth trying. An eval of CR 2008 can be downloaded from here:
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx
    Once you have installed the above, check the version (Help | About). If the version is not 12.3.0.601, download SP 3 from here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007123572010E/cr2008_sp3.exe
    4) rather than using datasets, would it be possible to write the data into some database temp table and consume the data from there?
