Third-Party Complier in J++

I will post this in a few forums for better results.
I have Visual J++ 6.0 (and Visual Studio.NET), I want to use all of the new J2SE 1.4.1 APIs, but the J++ Complier is only 1.2-compliant. Does anyone know how to have J++ use a third-party complier?

Hmm, I suspect that whatever the final court settlement is, they'll be able to press ahead with J++ and J#, so long as they don't call it Java.
Unfortunately, the increasing divergence between the two companies is starting to really bite. To be fair, we (collectively) warned J++ users that this would happen, and so it came to pass.
Now J++ is probably more or less dead (I haven't really been following it, to be honest), but M$ will probably maintain J# for the sake of keeping the J++ users.
I guess you have to make a choice: Do you want to stay with M$ and J#, or move to Sun Java?

If I were you, and I wanted to stick with .net, I'd be looking at moving to C# - it has a few nicities over Java anyway, and if you want to lock yourself to one platform, there's really no compelling reason not to switch to C# that I can see.
If, on the other hand, you want to stick with the Java API set, perhaps to maintain cross-platform support, I can't really see that staying with J++/J# is a viable option - M$ are not likely to support Java anymore, even if legally permitted to do so.

Airprint or third party app

The configuration is as follows:
I-Pad2
Airport Express
Canon MP260 printer
The Canon is connected to the Airport via USB.
There are no other devices (ie: Mac or PC) connected or used in this configuration.
In all of the discussions and third party apps and websites I've investigated, there is no clear explaination or solution that will allow the I-Pad to print a photo or document (ie:e-mail, pdf etc..) using the configuration I've provided above. In every case you either need a compliant "airprint" printer or have the printer connected to a PC or I-Mac.
Are there any immediate plans by the folks at Apple to fix the USB port of the AirPort Express to recognize the I-Pad to allow for printing either using Airprint or a third party app.

the airport express can never help you unless you expcet the user to be able to install printer drivers from canon on the airport express itself

Burning Blu-ray disks. Third party hardware needed?

I have read from earlier posts that it is not possible to burn Blu-ray© disks from DVDSP. Can third party hardware be purchased to burn such a disk having assembled the digital assets in DVDSP? Any recommendations?

Thanks for your responses. I see that from DVD SP Late-Breaking news that'HD DVD projects authored by DVD SP 4.0.3 fully comply with the 1.0 version of he HD DVD specification...the new HD DVD standard. The disks will play on Apple DVD Player version 4.6.5 or later.
I haven't commited to the Blu-ray© player, just the Sony HD camcorder.
When the time comes, I will burn to a red laser disc per the Apple recommendation. And thanks for the Roxio link which makes it clear that a PC is needed for Blu-ray©

First eCommerce site - Business Catalyst or Third Party extension?

I'm just starting out in freelance web design and I have a thorough knowledge of HTML and CSS and have built numerous sites using dreamweaver previously. I now have a full CC package (and am loving it I must say), but am far more a designer than a developer and thus my knowledge of PHP CF etc. are at the very least limited. I now have a client who is interested in an ecommerce site and I just wondered what approach people would suggest.
From my reading I can see that third party extensions such as cartweaver often rely on PHP or CF and since my knowledge of them is minimal, I had guessed that BC would be the way to go, but if anybody could give me any reasons as to why I could be right or wrong with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Unless you're familiar with building a CMS, MySql databases, PHP connections, web server security and PCI compliance, an e-commerce site is best left in the hands of experienced professionals. BC is one option to consider if you intend to use it to build & host the site. BC Modules won't work on other servers.
There are other 3rd party shopping carts services you could use like PayPal and ASecureCart Shopping Cart. A secure, PCI Compliant shopping cart..

OSB - Third Party JCA Adapter Deployment

I would like to know if OSB 11 supports third party JCA adapter besides Oracle JCA adapter.
If it does, I would like to know how I can generate wsdl and jca files for the thrid party adapter in order to deploy it to OSB. Thanks in advance.

The JCA transport of OSB works in conjunction with a built-in JCA adapter framework and JCA-compliant adapters to interact with EIS systems. You may need to develope a custom transport (similar to JCA transport in OSB), to use your custom/third party JCA adapters with it.

Better option would be to raise an ER with support and if product development approves the same then a new feature can be introduced in OSB to support third party JCA adapters as part of existing JCA transport/as part of a new transport.

Presence deployment on 'third party specs-based' VM platform & integration with other UC apps on MCS hw

I have a client who's currently running UCM ver 9.1.1 on MCS hw .. each for Call Mgr., UCxn, CCX.. they want to add Presence & IM on their own VM hardware and infrastructure.. on 'third party specs-based' platform. Besides complying with VM hw compatibility list and supported CPU..Would full Presence features be available or only chat/ IM? Has anyone had deployment experience with hybrid integration of UCM apps on separate MCS hw and introducing Presence on VM platform ? Client just purchased new MCS hw 2-yrs ago. I'm assuming ISO file for Presence available for download without additional cost for actual media/ software; is that also true?

As long as the HW is supported, there is no limitation on what you get out of the product.
If they have verified their VM infrastructure complies to the Cisco requirements, and it does, whether the other apps are on MCS, UCS, 3rd party specs, etc. makes no difference at all.

Third-Party SAML (1.1 or 2.0) as Identity Provider

From documentation, it appears that in theory you should be able to use SAML 1.1 or SAML 2.0 using a third-party Identity Provider... however I cannot seem to find any examples or collection of documentation on how this can be done.
When trying to follow through some of the examples out there, it won't let me configure/enable the Service Provider, complaining that I haven't setup an Identity Provider... but I don't want to use WebLogic as the Identity Provider... but instead a third-party solution that allows for flexible PKI usage...

MainStage message: possible conflict with third party midi or audio drivers

Just when I thought everything was going to be ok...
MainStage gives me a message that it detects a possible conflict with third party audio or midi drivers. The only midi device I'm using is class compliant (doesn't need a driver). My audio interface is an Apogee Duet and I'm using the most recent driver. Logic registers no such complaint. MainStage freezes. Any ideas?

Hello.
I am seeing this whenever MIDI events are being sent into either Logic or MainStage (primarily MainStage), while they are launching. On my setup, this will either crash the application during launch, ( sent to Apple ) or trigger this "...3rd party conflict / driver..." dialog.
In either instance, disabling incoming MIDI messages by turning them off on all connected MIDI devices, or as suggested, waiting to connect the device in question until, the application is fully launched, fixes my version of this issue.
** Please Note: In my experience, increasing the number incoming MIDI messages, exacerbates the issue and, makes a dialog or crash more likely to occur.

LDAP synchronization with third party directory server

In release 2 I have created a java program, that synchronizes a MS Active Directory (and other LDAP compliant directorys) and the OID, with the purpose to maintain Portal users and groups automatically.
Often the tree structure in the third party DS is structured in an organizational manner (company, divisions, departments and users).
Is it possible to "copy" this structure into the OID so the users will be able to log on to the Portal application or is it necessary to create Portal users in the "cn=users" that was created during installation of the infrastructure database.

You can configure the location of users in OID by modifying the value of the orclcommonusersearchbase attribute in cn=Common,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext,<subscriber_dn> to point to the highest node of the user subtree. However, there are three seeded users PUBLIC, PORTAL and PORTAL_ADMIN. These users will need to be moved directly under the new user search base. Any groups that contain references to these users in owner or uniquemember attributes will also have to be updated to reflect the correct DNs. After you have gone through these steps, you will need to run ssoca to reconfigure the SSO server and then run ptlasst in the MIDTIER mode to rewire Portal with the OID server.

The USB connection is supposed to be a standard that is uni'versal, at least in theory, as many manufacturers have strayed from the standards to accommodate their own devices. The power portion though, is generally complied with, so if the wiring is correct, there shouldn't be any harm done to your device.
Secondly, there are so many third party USB chargers coming out of various sources in China, about the only way that you can find out if the one that you purchased will work is to give it a try. It would also be hard to recommend a specific brand of third party charger since the vendor's source could be a changing one, though those from recognized brand name third party vendors are generally tested to some degree so that the company doesn't incur liabilities for damage.

For automatic PO at the time of GR following are the prerequisites:
1) In Customizing
a) Auto PO generation must be activated in Mov. Type 101 & 161
b) the plant for which GR is entered must be assigned to standard Pur. Org.
c) Default Document type for PO must be specified in GR ( MB 01)
2) Application - Front end side
a) material must be valuated material
b) Purchasing Info record must exist for vendor , material & standard Pur Org.
c) Conditions in Info Records must be valid.
d) Applicable for stock items & not consumable items
e) you cannot enter any movement in GR block stock
f) Material Master & vendor master records must.
If you ensure all above settings then it is possible to have auto PO during GR.
