Third party synchronous interface to SAP

Hi,
I have a scenario where system A (third party app) needs to send a "show me prices" query to SAP and this needs to be synchronous.
Can anyone tell me if there is a walkthrough for this scenario I can look at?
I believe I need an integration process in the mix but need to see how this all hangs together.
3rd party interface -> Integration process [IP]
IP to sap (sync)
SAP to IP response (sync)
IP to 3rd party
Cheers,
Ross

>>  A previous consultant has set this up as a sync message SOAP to PI to SAP but there is no response leg coming from SAP even though the interface is defined as synchronous
Modify the interface from synchronous to Asynchronous and dont need BPM
Make changes
a) In SOAP Sender adapter  change Quality of Service from Best effort to Exactly once
b) outbound service interface and inbound service interface in ESR , make asynchronous
c) Mapping only for request.
d) Rest all same.
e)recreate WSDL.
The previous given link will be helpful to know about SOAP adapter.
Check this link too.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/5ad93f130f9215e10000000a155106/content.htm
Hope that helps.
In addition to above suggestion,  A recent blog about handling synchronous to asynchronous without BPM.is below. This might give some idea for your SAP side...(no response)

  • Third party sales interface

We have been asked to design a third party sales interface for a set of countries. Provider also uses SAP and there are a few prereqs:
    1. Goods will be received directly by provider
    2. We will have to invoice provider based on their sales
    3. A lot of information needs to be exchanged like material/customer/pricing conditions master data
It´s something similar to consignment sales but not exactly. Do you know some standard scenario that can be helpfull or do you have any link to best practices?

  • Consume WS from Third Party System in a SAP Portal

    Hi everybody,
I would like to know if it could be possible to consume a WS from a Third Party System from a SAP Portal page or iView directly.
If not, could anybody propose a solution for that?
I thought about the possibility of creating a WebDynpro Java application which would consume this Web Service.
    Thanks a lot.

  • What types of third party loyalty solution can SAP POS 9.5 intergrate with

What types of third party loyalty solution can SAP POS 9.5 intergrate with (reserached already Rediron, and DBS)?
Looking For Loyalty\rewards and giftcard solution.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Hiram,
The SAP POS Suite has solutions already in place for Loyalty - Allegiance Analytics and for Gift Card - SVA.  However, there are other 3rd party options that can be incorporated into the POS as well, but you would need to contact those vendors directly.

  • The third party database supported by SAP BW

    Hi
Apart from SAP R/3 , my client has a historical data in thier legacy system so called  MFG/PRO, they wondering if SAP BW is allow to connect to such system.  Anyone know where I can check the third party database supported by SAP BW ?
    Panadda

    Hi:
The native SAP NetWeaver BI functionality delivered to connect with such a system is called UDconnect ("BW" is an old term).
    Here are some resources

You should be able to find a JDBC or ODBO driver for such a system that can work with UDconnect.

  • OATS OTM Third-Party API/Interface?

    Hello,
I am an Oracle employee and an automation tools developer in a large testing group and we are investigating if OATS OTM has the internal/public interfaces that allow us to update/create test cases and/or update/create test results for test execution that are not wui/gui type applications. Essentially, testing outside of OATS OTM and the OATS integrated testing facilities. I have scoured the available documentation but there is no indication or it is not clear that any such third-party API/Interface exists to perform such tasks.
We are VERY interested in using the OATS OTM as a central testing repository but nearly all of our testing do not include wui/gui application testing, mostly cli/custom/firmware/non-OS/cross-platform testing. We are interested in transitioning from our existing test repository software, which is not an Oracle product, and moving to OATS.
Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance,
    Robert

    Hello everyone,
I'm also looking for a API that is exposed from the OATS.
    Thanks,

  • Third party tool interface integration with SAP

Hi guys - here's an interesting one:
I want to integrate a third party tool with SAP.  The interfaces would be required to communicate both ways - sending data out and receiving data and populating relevant tables / transactions.  I, so far see a number of methods available to me that would be suitable and feasible:
<b>  - File based exchange of data
      - iDocs (custom or standard)
      - BAPIs (custom or standard)</b>
      - XI (but this method would not be feasible and would thus not consider it)
In all the cases above (apart from XI), I guess I would require a program that would call the BAPIs or distribute iDoc data or extract and populate file based data.  I have so far compiled a list of various advantages and disadvantages and just wanted to probe your expert minds.
<b>Please list the advantages and disadvantages of each method, providing a reasonable discussion as to why you think this is the case.  If you think any other method would be suitable, please list this too.</b>
The person with the most accurate and detailed answer will receive all the points.
    Thanks
    Mantas

    Hi Mantas,
The Pros and Cons in this case depends on the third party tool which you want to intergrate with SAP.
File Based Exchange of data: How conveniently can you push the data from the third party tool into a file.
IDocs: The third party tool should understand the syntax and symantics of the IDoc.
BAPIs: How do you plan to call the BAPI from the third party tool.
From just the SAP point of view.
Here are the advantages and disadvantages:
    1. File Based Exchange of data:This method is good if you can easily pass a file which can be uploaded into sap and the data can be stored in the sap tables.
    2.IDocs:
    Advantages:
If you have an existing IDoc that can do the data transfer then this would be the simplest method as only the settings are needed. No program is required to call this IDoc the settings automatically take care of this.
    Disadvantages:
If a custom IDoc needs to be developed then creation of a BAPI would be a better option.
    3.BAPIs:
    Advantages:
It is simpler to develop a BAPI than a custom IDoc which involves creation of segments, function modules etc.
    Disadvantages:
There should be an active online connection.
Some programming will be needed to call the BAPI.

  • Interface or Third Party Software for viewing SAP Org. Structure in SAP

  • Advantages of third party Document Management vs SAP

We have had the IXOS product installed for a long period of time to store our SAP related documents such as drawings, POs, Invoices.  We also use IXOS to store our SAP archived data thru the SAP archivelink interface.  Due to cost and support issues, we are looking to replace IXOS.  The big question that keeps coming up is whether we actually need a third party product any longer or can SAP's content server and DMS handle the same items.  Our CIO continues to ask why do we need IXOS.  Unfortunately, I do not know enough about what SAP has in this area now to give him a definite answer.  Any input on this would be greater appreciated.

This is quite a good link...

  • How to call the RFC's from the third party applications or Non SAP applicat

    Hi,
For calling RFC's from the wedynpro , SAP has provided the modeling concept.
In the same way, if i want to access or call the RFC 's from the third applications or Non SAP applications what is the procedure and what is the methodoligy.
As per my knowledge, we need to expose those RFC's as webservices . Then we must be able to acces in hetrogeous environment from any third party applications..
Please revert back soon, It is very urgent.

  • Getting BW and third party data source into SAP Cloud for customer

    Hi Experts.
I have an architecture question and would like to know any guidance or pointers to help. We have a requirement to integrate 3rd party data sources to be brought into SAP cloud for sales so that reporting can be driven out of SAP cloud for sales. What is the best approach to do it.
Client doesn't want users to go to another site to look for reporting data.
Worst case scenario, is there a way to show BW or Third party reports in a separate tab where we can fetch the report data for user or may be a redirect link displays home page of reports under new tab without user leaving the cloud for sales application.
    Thanks
    Apoorva

    Hi Vivek/Mithun,
I have brought in data from BW system to C4C using Webservice and stored it in C4C backend.
I am building a custom datasource from these variables, but I want to restrict access of this data based on user roles.
However, while creating the datasource "Enable Access Control" checkbox is  not enabled. The help text says "To enable access control your BO must contain an association marked as relevant for access control".
Could you help me in understanding how can we enable this feature for our custom datasource?
I have also raised a separate thread also for this query Require more details on "Enable Access Control" feature of Data source
    Thanks and Regards,
    Manasi
