This Is Total

I have posted about a freeze problem days ago and have got no response. I did a search on freeze and I can not beli've how many posts have gone un-answered about these freeze issues. If this is how creative treats there customers then they just lost one. I will take this card out and toss it in the lake out back of my house and next time I'm asked what sort of sound card to buy I will mention to that person first what not to buy and that is creative. It's total junk and you get no support for it. Get your act together creative and get some real moderators for your forums cause those here dont know the answers to our questions or simply dont pay attention to those who have spent their hard earned money for a product that is junk.
Thats my 2 cents I'm sure there are more of you out there. The only way this will be fixed is to voice your opinon. Tell creative to fix the problems and listen to their customers or stand the risk of going out of business. I'll never buy another card from them untill they do so.

DarkLogan,
I've had the same problem, sadly. Bear in mind what Jason says - this is supposed to be a user community forum, and Creative are not supposed to provide direct support. Personally, I'm more upset that the user community in general has not bothered to reply to any of my posts; in fact, the only help I've actually had has been from Creative! I'm a bit disappointed that the user community is so unfriendly
I don't think I can help with the freeze issue you have, since I've got a different card (I'm using Li've! Platinum 5. with Li've! Dri've II). However, in my epic struggle to get the hardware working on Win2k, I DID encounter a freeze the other day - but it was a one-off, and I think it was related to an IRQ conflict or something. Win2k detected some sort of infrared receiver (which I think was probably the Li've! Dri've): I tried to manually update the drivers, but Windows froze on me and I had to hard-reboot. When it came back, the infrared receiver was no longer listed.
I know this won't help you, but I wanted to at least respond to you so that you know that SOME users do actually acknowledge other users. Sorry to hear of your problems, mate. FWIW, I believe the Creative hardware is actually pretty good. I think the problem I'm having (and almost certainly the problem you're having) is due to the drivers being such a PITA to get installed properly.

I don't understand how i'm unable to use what I just paid for,but yet a charge has been placed on my card. I just need to know how to unsubscribe my last order. • CardLayout problem. This is totally weird....

    Hi...
    I have some code which uses a CardLayout to show two different panels. Card A is a "loading" type panel telling the user to wait as background stuff is being done. Card B displays data from the database.
    showCardA()
    do some stuff.... (get data from database which takes around 5 seconds)
    showCardB()
    For some strange reason, card A is never shown. If I comment out showCardB(), card A is displayed correctly. The database call is about 5 seconds so it's not flipping through too quickly.
    I am using CardLayout correctly, but I am thinking that the problem has something to do with threading issues?????
    This bug is totally totally baffling me.

    You're blocking the event dispatch thread with your database stuff.
    See http://spin.sourceforge.net for an explanation and a possible solution.

    If your iPod is set to update automatically take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. If it is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod will appear in the iTunes source list. Once you are connected you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it until your move has been completed: Managing Your Songs Manually
    You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go.
    If you want to copy the songs directly from your iPod there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
    If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

  • Does this sound totally stupid or is it in fact possible?

    A friend once told me that I could install a G4 into my tangerine clamshell, SAL. I have also heard that you could install fire wire, put in a 200 GB hard drive, and 40 GB RAM.
    the only one that even sounds plausible is the hard drive upgrade. But I beleive that the processor is soldered into a plate that is raised above the motherboard by several millimeters. is it possible to remove this and put in a new one.
    also, any thoughts on the others?
    I realize that some of these may be preposterous. but I thought that it wouldn't hurt to check.
    please don't mock me for eternity.
    Ibook (clamshell) G3   Mac OS 9.2.x

    Matthias,The answers:
    Install a G4 - No - I'm 90% sure it's soldered. Even if it is on a board - I've never see an upgrade for sale.
    Install Firewire - possibly but it would need an iBook Clamshell FW logic board ($$$$$) and a Stanley knife to 'adapt' the casing.
    200Gb hard disk - 160Gb is the largest laptop hard drive on retail market as of this date - so No.
    40Gb RAM - Today's latest G5 Towers take up to 16Gb in 8 slots. The iBook Clamshell takes up to 576Mb (544Mb for a Tangerine) in one slot.
    Remember the ICD is a fast processor. The dual core G5 is slower and the G5 slower still. Upgrading to G4 is hardly worth it nowadays! (Please note I'm quiet have with my two G4 Mac though! )

  • This is total B.S. I need to talk to a person and they send me to a forum. Got a new laptop. Had to reinstall CS3. In the middle of it I was asked to insert the Contribute 4 CD. I don't have that CD (I don't think I ever did; I think I downloaded Contribu

    How does one talk to a person at Adobe Support?

    You are right: there is no option to chat or phone contact, possibly because your version is no longer supported.
    Try "cheating" and start the contact dialog with Creative Cloud; you will end up at http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?step=CCSN_downloading-installing-setting-up_downloadin g-installing_stillNeedHelp which will give you chat and phone options.

  • HT201210 Is anyone else having to constantly install and reinstall iTunes, and restore the iPod with each Synch?  THis is totally ludicrous.

    It seems that every time I synch my iPod, I have no music.  Then, when I go to synch again, it tells me it needs to restore the iPod!!  It's the software's fault, I think.  Windows 8 and iTunes do not seem to be very compatible and I don't have a choice in terms of what iPod and what computer I'm using.  I just want the thing to work.  Thank you.

    Some other users has reported the same there may be a but in iOS 8 or iTunes.
    Have you tried:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
    To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    I don't have dictation and speech. I only have speech. Help!!

  • How come this formula doesn't work :ARRONDI((Total Total des factures÷1.149749) ; 2) ???

    I need some help to understand basic formula please...

    I am guessing you mean this formula?
    ARRONDI((Total Total des factures÷1.149749) ; 2)
    since you are using the semicolon (";") as the argument delimiter you should be using the comma as the decimal.
    so try this:
    ARRONDI((Total Total des factures÷1,149749) ; 2)

  • This Verizon web settings for home phone is totally screwed up

    I attempt to review/update my calling features.
    From the main page (http://www22.verizon.com/ForYourHome/MyAccount/Protected/Overview/MyOverview.aspx), I do 'My Services' -> 'Home Phone' -> 'Home Phone Overview'. Then I click on 'Update Calling Features', and it comes up with
    ===== We are looking up your account information and checking for available services. This will only take a moment. =====
    Then it shows some type of {please keep your posts courteous} order review. The web URL is https://www22.verizon.com/FORYOURHOME/GOFLOW/MyVerizonNew/ADDCHANGESERVICES.ASPX.
    How screwed up is that? All I want to do is to review my calling features. This is totally screwed!

    An update: This morning, I got a call from from Verizon support saying the problem had been fixed. I tried -- it wasn't fixed. So I gave tech support a call, I allowed them to remotely drive my PC so they could see for themselves that I still had the problem. After that, the tech support guy gave me a work-around for the problem; a new URL to bypass the verizon home page and go directly to the calling features settings. So, at least now, I can view/adjust the settings for my home phone. The tech support guy was helpful and at least now, I have a work around.

  • Requested URL cannot be found on this server

    This is total BS. I am traveling getting spotty reception so I loaded my phone up with lots if videos purchased through iTunes. When clicking on ANY of them, it tells me "the requested URL was not found on this server". *** DOES THIS MEAN?!?!?? I bought these overpriced videos and I can't even watch them. I'm so sick and tired of problems on my iOS. How the **** do I watch my videos?

    Is there absolutely no fix to this without iCrap? No one even mentioned how this even happens and how to prevent this nonsense from happening. I am in the middle of a trip on a long distance train that takes me through some very desolate places and no wifi. I do not have the luxury of plugging my phone into a computer with iCrap installed. I bought a lot of videos so that I wouldn't have to be connected to anything to watch them and its still trying to reach a URL. Total BS.

  • Please help - Totally locked out of T61

    Bottom line:
    I am totally frozen out of my T61, stuck at the BIOS. I can apparently do absolutely nothing, including access info on the primary HD or the secondary HD in the DVD slot.
    I now get this error after the laptop recognizes my fingerprint: <Error 0199 - System Security. Security password retry count exceeded>
    The BIOS settings are at the bottom of this post, if that helps.
    The only possible things that I know of that you could use to help me are:
    The Lenovo does actually recognize my fingerprints, which apparently means zippo.
    My two Windows administrator passwords worked find until this locked me out totally.
    I do have hardware so that I can attach these two hard drives to other machines, where I have been able to read/write to these drives, at least until now.
    ===================
    HOPEFULLY RELEVANT HISTORY.
    About a year ago I remember exploring the password functions on my T61. Probably getting too cute. But it never bit me on the butt until now. I am beginning to realize how much I didn't know then, learning today that there are 3 different passwords IN ADDITION to my Windows password. Oops.
    It appeared today that my biometry hardware is getting dicey. Sometimes it would recognize this finger, other times not, sometimes that finger, then not. So I started wandering around in the security part of CSS, trying to see what I would have to do if the biometry froze up on me completely.
    That is when I discovered that apparently I created a supervisor password. Apparently much worse, at one point in the last 5 hours of trying to figure out what was going on I typed in what I thought might be the correct supervisor password too many times.
    My backup plan was apparently misguided and has failed - I have a second HD, with one of the partitions a bootable WinXP partition, but when I swap in that one (normally in the DVD slot) for the primary HD, this error STILL crops up and I am still frozen, can't get past the BIOS.
    Smelling possible disaster, I was in the process of backing up all of the data on that HD to the second HD when my machine went into hibernation before it totally locked me out! Agh agh agh. It had filled up about 50 GB, my hope is that what I truly need is now on this secondary drive.
    Rant: I can do NOTHING?! This has totally frozen me out of EVERYTHING? My T61 is TOAST? This is really me, the one-and-only-ever owner of this laptop, probably no one that was stupid enough to try to steal this semi-obsolete laptop could have screwed this up so totally. My incredulity is high. Doesn't anyone remember the reason for the UNDO function, or the purpose for "idiot proof"? I am close to dropping this Lenovo on its head to see if it has a change of heart or giving it ECT treatment, which would be equally helpful, but mostly thinking about buying a different very non-Lenovo laptop, yesterday. If I screwed up once, by thinking that more security was better than less, this machine should be more forgiving than this, especially if it recognizes my **bleep** fingerprint. At least Dell hardware was reliable, even if I couldn't understand tech support. Enough rant.
    ===================
    Any help humbly and gratefully accepted. I'm going to go blow off some steam but keep checking here to see if any kind soul will be merciful. I have just wasted too many hours that I needed to be spending on getting ready to teach on Monday. If I need to bail on that ****** laptop totally then it would be very helpful not to pour more hours down this rat-hole.
    Thank you,

    Well I have a lot of success to report and a big mystery still unresolved.
    I'm typing from my Lenovo!! I'm able to get into Windows, access all information (fingers crossed) on my hard drive, and found out that I had succeeded in backing up most of my important information to that secondary drive.
    Before I reply to and digest your last two posts I need to take a sharp detour to want to make certain that I have successfully backed up everything off of my primary HD, and then I will come back here and report. So it will be a while until I post again, maybe even a few days because I have to catch up work that didn't happen today.
    But I wanted to let you know what happened and what worked.
    ==================
    This is how I succeeded in getting into my system.
    First and possibly most importantly, I was documenting every step that I was taking in order to report in here, and so by doing that it occurred to me, "Why this step?" and not another.
    These are the steps that I recorded in order to show that I kept getting to this 0199 error no matter what I did.
        > Turned on machine normally
        * It prompted me to "swipe finger to authorize access"
        > Swiped finger
        * It showed and skipped the 'power on' and 'hard drive' passwords, since I had successfully figured those out
        * It shows me a nasty looking screen saying:
              ERROR: 0199 System Security
              security password retry count exceeded
        * Press [F1] to get into setup utility
        > I press F1, get into setup utility, which is a total dead end where I can affect *nothing*
    If I then reboot the whole process recycles
    What I did that got me out of this mess was to press <Esc> instead of [F1]. It occurred to me that I didn't have to press F1.
    Eventually, once the system got through some momentary confusion, mostly based upon the fact that the secondary drive wasn't hooked up, I got into Windows.
    ==================
    So I am going to log out for a while until I feel reasonably secure that I have backed up my data. I will come back here to follow up, because I don't think that this 0199 error is going anywhere.
    Also I think that I hit "this resolved the problem" by mistake a second ago on your last post. If I did then that was a mistake, because it would be better to do that for whichever one of these posts would point people best in the right direction. Would you help me out with that? Since you are the moderator you will have a better sense of that.
    Of course it depends on how you define "the problem"! Getting back into my data, programs etc. certainly does seem like the real success. But this 0199 error is a real problem.
    Should I split off a different thread about the 0199 error?
    =================
    All of that said, hip hip hooray!
    After a touch of exuberance I will get my nose back into the tedious work of backing up my machine.

  • For the second time (I've been to the Genius Bar once already) my WiFi isn't working on my iPhone 4S. This is really infuriating and costly!!! I see others have the same issues.  Can't Apple do anything about this?  It's obviously a hardware problem!

    For the second time (I've been to the Genius Bar already once with this) my Wifi isn't working.  They gave me a new iphone last time, but the new one has the same issue as the old one, I'm guessing.  I've tried resetting the network but that doesn't work.
    I see others have this issue too.
    If this is a hardware problem why doesn't Apple fix it?  Or do I just have to wait another year for another upgrade?
    Currently it's not costing me anything - yet - because I've got the Apple Warranty but this is totally frustating!!! I bought the original phone (which has been replaced in July 2012.  The new phone (without working Wifi) is a month old.
    Will try Restore via ITunes before (I will invariably) have to return to the Genius Bar for another Iphone 4S unless someone has an ingenius solution here?..?

    For what reason, other than making yourself look foolish, would you ask questions that we users could not possibly answer as we're NOT Apple?
    Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.  Nothing more "ingenius" to suggest than these steps that Apple has outlined in the manual.  If these steps don't work, then go back to the Apple store.
