Yes this is the likely problem.

AppleTV2 needs 6-8 Mbps internet speed for near instant HD streaming.
SD rentals require less. You can change AppleTV's iTunes store Setting to rent SD by default if that works better.
Beware of doing other things with AppleTV2 while it's downloading a rental - anything from playing music from itunes to browsing other movie trailers can flush the downloaded portion from AppleTV memory making it restart the process when you go back to watch.
Planning ahead isn't a huge deal for me, but it's an issue with AppleTV2 because of the inability to use it for other things while the download is ongoing - if you have poor internet speed an option is to rent in itunes then play on AppleTV under the Computers section where a new Rentals option will appear - trouble is the variety of content is less in itunes especially for HD movies (at least in UK).

Sorry, but you cannot rent nor purchase movies in the UAE, nor can you use the iTunes Store of another country. So the rental and purchase of movies will not be available to you, at least not from your Apple TV.

How come My Apple TV won't play movies I just Rented?
Every time I rent a movie on Apple TV it successfully purchases but when I go to play the movie (on the same day) it will allow me to start loading it, then in the middle of the proccess of loading it says 'erorr occurred - please try again later'. I've tried again later even the next day but the same thing... I would like to know if there is any solution? HELP PLEASE!!!!!
ALSO. I've tried to see if it was just a one time thing, so i bought a second movie and it still happened.
Darren68Actually I had the same problem last week with my first rental through AppleTv. I ended up calling Apple, and it turns out my internet speed was too slow to allow the unit to "recognise" the "content" (make sense?). In other words, it was making the unit basically say "what? We can't do this, it will take too long (days and days apparently)" so in MY words: it threw out the content that I was trying to download.
They advised I either up my internet connection speed through my provider, or only try to download SD content. -

I downloaded a movie from the ITunes app on my IPad. Now I cannot find the movie to view it on my Ipad. Where is it? I hope someone can help me out. This is pretty embarrassing.
It was definitely downloaded as a rental, and the money has been redeemed from a gift card I have on file.
Thank you.The videos app is on one of your home screens (it could have been placed in a folder). You can also launch it from the spotlight search. When you launch Videos, select the Rentals category at the top of the screen.

I just rented a movie today of itunes and it is in my rentals however this is my first time renting a movie and i tried to sync it onto my ipod touch version: 4.2.1, (I am going on holiday tomorrow and need it on my ipod before then). I go onto my syncing page and go to movies and my rentals are there and i can move them across to my ipod but underneath it says - 'You must be connected to the internet to transfer rented films' but the thing is i am connected and when i click apply it tries to sync it but then they go back to where they were. PLEASE HELP - i need it done tonight because i wanted to watch them on the plane tomorrow

I just purchased an iTunes TV show and it successfully downloaded. It is now saying that I do not have the proper version of QuickTime on this version of iTunes (10.6.3).
How can a show I purchased be incompatible with the latest version of iTunes?

Super frustrated and long time Apple customer.After a day of trying, both iTunes and my Apple TV are telling me that the episodes of Scooby Doo I purchased are incompatible due to QuickTime. I still don't understand how I purchased something from iTunes that doesn't work with iTunes.
the exact error I receive when I try to play an episode is the following:

I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada and when I try to use Siri it loads and loads and then says, "I'm really sorry about this, but I can't take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while."
I rebooted and it didn't fix the problem. I just got my iPhone 4s (unlocked right from Apple) several weeks ago.Siri has been a bit more erratic than usual in the last week or so. Apple has announced a major announcement for 9/12. Conclusions are left to the reader.

I have an ipad 2 and just rented a movie. When I try to load the movie to the ipad it indicates that it was not copied to the ipad because it cannot be played on the ipad. How do I fix this?
P.S running software version 4.3.3I have the same problem on an original iPad.

I just rented a movie on Apple Tv--started to watch it on the TV then wanted to continue on my computer (MacAir) but couldn't find a way to do this. Home sharing is enabled. I pulled up the movie in the Itunes store and clicked on 'rent' but I don't want to have to pay the rental fee again.
Rented movies downloaded to an Apple TV can't be transferred to any other device.

iLife '09 is not available as a download - it is only available as a purchase
iLife '11 is available as a DVD purchase and the compoments of it are available from the App Store (iPhoto '11 (version 9.1.5), etc)
Exactly what did you do? And exactly what does the error message say?
On the surface it appears that you are attemptying to open a new library with an older version (iPhoto '09 can not open an iPhoto '11 library for example)
