Thread DataSources & Database getConnection timeout error
I'm usig pool connections in the application for database access.
At the moment i have max number of pool connections set to 1.
I'm using Oracle JDBC driver 10.2.0.1.0 and Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production With the Partitioning option JServer Release 9.2.0.5.0 - Production.
Running JRE/SDK 1.4.2
WAS6, Rational 6.0.0
I'm trying to get the connection inside a thread but I get this exception:
J2CA0045E: The connection is not available when you invoke the method createOrWaitForConnection for the resource jdbc/DBDS
and then this: Connection not available, Timed out waiting for 10000
The function in the main class is like:
PrT cnxT=new PrT(); Thread hilo=new Thread(cnxT, "cnxT"); hilo.start();
the runnable class is like:
public class PrT implements Runnable { public PrT(){ super(); } public void run(){ try{ InitialContext ic = new InitialContext(); DataSource ds = (DataSource) ic.lookup("jdbc/DBDS"); Connection con=ds.getConnection(); /** here my sql sentences **/ con.close(); } catch(Exception e){ } } }
If I change the max number of pool connections to 2 this executes pretty well and if I change the code and make the connection outside the runnable class there's no problem. But I need to make a new connection inside the runnable class because I'm gonna run multiple threads at once.
Why do I need to put the max connections pool in 2 if there're not connections opened?
What should I do to open the connection inside the thread?
Sorry for my english, is not my native language.
I'll appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Macro Timeout Error- MS Access Web App 2013
Hello everyone,
I have a MS Access Web App built with a lot of different tables and everything works fine. I have this one table with a number of fields (70 different fields), and some of them are lookups to other tables or a dropdown menu. In our company
we were using only SharePoint earlier and now we are migrating to access web app. I need to copy or import all the data that we had previously into that one table and then be able to do different types of data manipulations.
I have created a data macro to copy all the records even the lookups (a separate thread is available if anyone is dealing with that problem). When I try to copy say 500 records this works fine. But, when I try to copy more records it throws me a timeout
error. It only works for 60 seconds and then it stops and throws an error. Is there a way I can increase the timeout? Or has anyone else faced the same problem?
Please advise.
Thanks in advance. The recommended way is to use an Access desktop database and connect to the Azure database behind your App. The firewall and connection information is under File> Info > Connections.
You can then have linked tables to your SharePoint lists and to your Azure tables, and write append queries to copy the data over.

AMFPHP 5.0Mb data timeout error
Hi,
im using amfphp and have 5Mb data, in 500 rows.
But im receiveing timeout error.
I have some 500Kb on datagrid and the rest on RichTextEditor.
What can i do to receive this without error? Is it possible to call the some function a lot of times and populating the datagrid in 10 rows each time, for example?
Thanks for help. The parameter log_archive_config is wrongly configured on the standby database.
Add the database unique name (db_unique_name) of the primary database to the log_archive_config of the standby database
On the standby, your log_archive_config should be something like
log_archive_config='DG_CONFIG=(icts001,sms)';

Script Timeout error in classic ASP
Hi ,
In classic asp , i am using Stored procedure to fetch the result from oracle database . my database have 85Lakhs records . approx. 30 records are being inserted into the table. at the same time some users trying to fetch the data from same table.now i am getting script timeout error after long wait .it was an intermittent issue (sometimes it is working and sometimes it is not working). i thought it was because of performance issue with stored procedures . but in oracle Readers cannot block writers and Writers cannot block readers.so no issues with database side.i couldn't replicate the issue . i am wondering what will be the rootcause for this issue. is there anything i need to modify with the script side.by increasing the timeout property is the only solution?i tried to modify the timeout property to 180 seconds in classic asp page. please give your valuable suggestion.
Thanks.
Regards,
BossHi,
This error is thrown by the Flash Player when a script takes more than 15 seconds to execute i.e. if your script executes continously for 15 seconds with out letting the Flash Player render the UI, this error is dispatched. Probably the data returned is pretty huge, try splitting the data or use pseudo threading as explained in the URL below.

In the morning I tried same updating the record, it works without any change in the code or script.+
is it due table lock or db related issue? please adivse, how to resolve if occurs again.

Dear Experts,
I am very critical situation due to this timeout error in ECC, please help me as much as you can. Go-live date is very near, but I am not getting any clue why this error is occurring. our ECC system is EHP 4, and PI is dual stack 7.4
My scenario is synchronous ABAP proxy to HTTP_AAE. request is triggering from ECC via proxy and reaching to third party (bank) through PI, I am reviving the response back in PI from bank. But from PI to ECC the response is not reaching. So in ECC after the defined Timeout limit its getting timed out.
I have tried everything by increasing the timeout in ECC more than 15 minutes in HTTP_TIMEOUT under SXMB_adm in ECC, but nothing worked, even if I am increasing for half an hour then also its getting timeout after half an hour.
response from bank to PI is coming within 30 to 40 seconds, but PI is not sending the response back to ECC.
This is classical scenario, and I have checked the trace via SXMB_Moni in PI as well as in ECC, in ECC its showing the timeout error, but in PI i did not see any trace for this error.
I have read many thread on SCN for the same error, and everywhere it has been suggested to increase the timeout, and I have tired that, it didn't help me.
All ABAP proxy configuration has been done as follows.
RFC destinations in ECC
LCRSAPRFC(TCP/IP)
SAPSLDAPI ((TCP/IP))
G type destination to path "/sap/xi/engine?type=entry"
G type destination SAP_PROXY_ESR to path "/rep"
All the destination connection test is working fine.
but i have a doubt on G type destination(AAE_XDJ) to path "/sap/xi/engine?type=entry" which is returns the status code 500 with message "Empty HTTP request received", is it ok with 500 ?
Configuration in ECC Integration Engine configuration is as follows
Questions
How the message gets pushed to ECC from PI, once the message received in PI, I believe by G type RFC destination on path "/sap/xi/engine?type=entry" , please clarify.
How to trace this, if message is not getting pushed to ECC, I mean I have checked the trace in PI XSMB_MONI, but didn't get anything for this error. In ECC SXMB_moni only I am able to the timeout error.
Please expert help me as soon as you can, this error really effecting me badly in front of management
Thanks,
FarhanHi Hareesh,
I configured the scenario based on ICO, and again I received the same timeout error in ECC.
I am really sick with this error, and I have raised the OSS message to SAP. Meanwhile I just want to double check my entire configuration with you. Please see the below configuration (for classical) for ABAP proxy to HTTP_AAE, and let me know if anything is wrong.

Please see the below screenshot for ESR config. I have created 4 data types, 4 message types, 2 Service interface (synchronous), 2 mapping and one operation mapping.

ESR Configuration
I have simply created 2 data types for requests(ECC->PI->Bank) and did one to one mapping. Similarly for response(Bank->PI->ECC) 2 data types, one to one mapping for this as well.
But I just want to clarify about selecting the Request and response message type in inbound and outbound service interface. please explain me this for synchronous interface.
Please see the below structure from ESR and inbound and Outbound service and let me know if the selection of Request and response message types is correct or not.

Timeout error in accessing CR 2008 with dynamic prompts from SAP Portal
Hi
We are using Business Objects XI 3.0 with Integration Kit for SAP
Solutions on Windows 2003 Server with Weblogic 10.0 server.we have
created a report (13 parameters) using Crystal Reports 2008 and
deployed on the BOE.Crystal Reports are created using opensql driver

Later an iview is created on SAP Portal pointing to Crystal Report
using Business Objects iview template. The SSO is working fine and we
are able to select the parameters and when clicked ok we get an

KamalHello,
1)How do I assign my user ID to the organisational unit? Please advise me step by step as I am new to SRMu2026
2) Regarding error u201CThe following error text was processed in the system SR3 : Attribute for user USER18 contains errors. Inform system admin.
The error occurred on the application server eccserver1_SR3_01 and in the work process 0 . u201C
Using transaction SM21, I have discovered multiple errors for SAP instance eccserver1_SR3_01 like BBP_PU 245 transaction canceled, HTTP/RFC session has been deleted following timeout...
3) How do I run report BBP_CHECK_CONSISTENCY? With transaction SE38? What do I choose next from the options available?
This is too technical for me right now..maybe not in the future, but at this moment, I need more guidance...

1. Will the packet retry if they get this timeout error?
2. why is the logs timestamp and the packet timestamp is having very large gap nearly 1 day in some cases
3.How long does the packet wait before it timesout ,i see the unresponsive time varies from 80ms to 10000 ms
4.When do we get this warnings? is there any remedy?Wow Coherence 3.2, I haven't seen that in years, it is a pre-Oracle version. I'd suggest considering an upgrade to 3.5, which should be doable without even recompiling your code, just restart the cluster with new jars.
But that isn't what you asked. This message was reworded in Coherence 3.3 and later to refer to these events not as packet timeouts, but as rescheduled packets do indicate that they are automatically retried.
Regarding the timestamp that is the timestamp of the cluster member to which the packet was sent. A members timestamp is the time at which it joined the cluster.
The default packet retry interval is 200ms, I.e. If we don't get an ACK to a packet in that time we will retransmit it. After 1m of this we will give up and remove either the sender or receiver from the cluster. The time intervals in the log messages are with respect to when the first ACK was expected, so a reported delay of 80ms means it took 280ms to delived a packet.
These messages highlight periods of failed communication, and usually are the result of garbage collections. Some of yours are quite bad (multiple second), indicating that you've likely overcommited your java heap. The effect of the outages should be poor overall cluster performance and if bad enogh should also cause heavily GCing nodes to be kicked out of the cluster.

Database Exception Handling Error
Hi
Platform: BPEL/SOA Suite 10.1.3.3
I created an async BPEL process that does a simple insert into a database, and added error handling to ensure that database errors are trapped and interested parties notified when errors occur. To test the exception handling, I created a dummy table with an id and value column, where the value is declared as varchar2(1). Then I invoked the BPEL process with a string value longer than 1 character.
I expected to have the process catch the error, execute a java embedded System.out.println, assign the fault details to a fault variable string, and then terminate, with the terminated process displayed in the BPEL Console. Much to my surprise, as this executed perfectly in BPEL 10.1.2, this did not happen. Instead, the java embedded System.out.println executed, but then the following error was generated and the BPEL process was sent to the Manual Recovery area.

I decided to test this on my local SOA Suite, instead of deploying to the development server, and again to my surprise, the exception was caught and handled as expected, with no errors thrown. I then realized that I hadn’t set up the datasource, connection pool, and DbAdapter connection factory in Enterprise Manager for the database being used. I configured these appropriately, and once again the above error happened, this time on my local SOA Suite. I removed the connection from the DbAdapter connection factory, and the exception was once again caught and handled appropriately.
Since our database passwords have to be changed periodically, we are required to configure the datasource etc on the server so password management can be done in one place. That being the case, I’m hoping someone can provide some ideas to help resolve this issue. I tried changing a few of the database settings in Enterprise Manager (using dataSourceName instead of xADataSourceName, setting usesBatchWriting to false instead of true) but none of these changes worked.
ThanksYou should look into Bridge [GOF:151] and Memento [GOF:273].
Bridge allows you to decouple your mechanism from the implementation memento on how to propergate the decoupled exception information. -
Timeout error when trying to create repository
Hello,
I'm instaling ovm 3.2.3 and when I try to crete the storage repository from ovm manager I get a timeout error and it stops the creation. I've tried several times, I've reinstalled ovm and manager, but the error is always the same.
I've look into the log but I didn't find anything related to this error. Can somebody help me please?

End of JobHi,

We have successfully developed reports in CR XI and have been testing these reports on our website. All the tests had been going great until we realized that if the server was down we received a timeout error and then a connection information box asking for the connection information i.e. Server, User Id, Password, Database etc.. We obviously do not want our customers to see this information.
My question is, what can we do to prevent them from seeing this information when the connection to the database server is not online? Our first thoughts where to do something in the report to simulate a request for something with no data. That doesnt seem to work. Any ideas would be helpful.
We are using a OLE DB (ADO) connection.Hi Tom
Set the "Connect Timeout" property a larger value, or just set it to 0, which means no limit for timeout. This property is available while creating report and also in the Set Data Source Location you can edit the Connect timeout.
Hope this helps!

[Help] To prevent timeout error of browser in clinet with servlet in server
Hi all,
If a browser (for example, Internet Explorer) do not get any response from a server for more than sometime (in case of IE, default is 5 min), it will stop waiting and return some timeout error message.
But I have a servlet, which has a really long-time(at least 10 min) job to do before it could send a response to the browser. So, before the browser in client can get the result, it stops waiting.
I know I can change the time-out setting of browser in client machines, but there are hundred of thousands.
So, what I am asking is if it is possible to do it with servlet in server, and how?
(for example, send something to the client every few minutes, but I do not know how to do it .)
thanks a lot! What you would have to do is set up some sort of 'Buffer' servlet.
It starts the job in the background, and then returns a page saying job started - client does not time out.
You would have to start it in a seperate process - probably a new Thread.
The client would then have to send back requests asking - is it finished yet?
While the job is not finished the buffer servlet returns a "not yet" message.
On completion, the job can be sent back to the client.
Couple of pointers:
It may be easier to have the background process generate the result to file - then your buffer servlet can just pick up the file when it is completed.
To get your page to refresh multiple times, you can use javascript: window.setTimeout("[reload page]");
Good luck,
