Time Difference with Desktop Intelligence XI

I have 2 date time fields
Starttime: = mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM:SS AM/PM
Stoptime: = mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM:SS AM/PM
I would like to compare the actual time difference between them. Unfortunately Daysbetween() doesn't cut it because it returns an integer for the actual days between. I need the number of hours/minutes.
For Example:
Starttime = 03/27/2008 01:00:00 PM
Stoptime = 03/27/2008 01:15:00 PM
=Daysbetween(Starttime,Stoptime) returns "0"
I need my variable to return eith 15 minutes or 0:15 (read 0 hours and 15 minutes). Any thoughts?

There is no function for minutes that is comparable to DaysBetween, so you'll have to perform the work of "minutes between" in SQL using Designer....

Business Objects 3.1: Steps forSetting Up Auditor With Desktop Intelligence

Has anyone set up Desktop Intelligence auditing in 3.1?
We understand that you need to open a Port between the Web/App Server and the Adaptive Processing Server but are unclear on the actual steps. (Note: Our ports should already be open on our Web/App Server).
We can see in the CMC that our Client Auditing Proxy Service (CAPS) indicates "This service has no configuration property."
So in addition to clarifying the step by step process for setting up Deski Auditing how do you configure the CAPS?

Calculate time difference with respect to business hours

Dear Experts,
I have 2 group for which business hours is below,
Group A      Sunday 6 PM till Fri 5.30 PM EST
Group B      Monday to Friday, 3:30 AM to 5 PM EST
I having below sample table with data,
DECLARE @TBL_DATA TABLE(P_NUM INT, P_GROUP NVARCHAR(50), P_START_TIME DATETIME, P_END_TIME DATETIME)
INSERT INTO @TBL_DATA VALUES(12, 'A', '2015-01-10 5:08:58.000', '2015-01-11 15:10:18.000')
INSERT INTO @TBL_DATA VALUES(11, 'A', '2015-01-03 5:08:58.000', '2015-01-05 15:10:18.000')
INSERT INTO @TBL_DATA VALUES(13, 'B', '2015-01-03 5:08:58.000', '2015-01-05 15:10:18.000')
INSERT INTO @TBL_DATA VALUES(14, 'C', '2015-01-03 5:08:58.000', '2015-01-05 15:10:18.000')
Here in above table, for P_NUM = 11, start time is Satarday 5.08 and this belong to group A, hence actual start time should be Sunday 6 PM and similarly for others.
I am looking for a solution to calculate the time between start & end time with respected to business hours not on actual start date.
Note - For some tickets I have start and end time within business hours, hence for those row I need staright way difference.

Desktop Intelligence (DeskI) Reports: These are standard "rep" -type files created from BO's full client known as "Desktop Intelligence". The software is loaded individually to each workstation that will execute Deski. A Deski report can be modified/viewed using the full client as well as applying all the tools/options available when using the full client. As an added "benefit" a saved rep (Deski Report) can be imported to the XI web platform for "public" execution/view (but not for modification) -- all viewed via Infoview on the Web Intelligence platform.
Web Intelligence (WebI) Reports: These are standard "wid" -type files created using the online WEBI on XI and these reports can use tools and options available in Webi. These reports are built using WebI and and viewed using either WebI (modify mode) or Infoview (read-only mode). If further modifications to a report are needed then open in modified mode, correct, report, save, and then subsequently open in Infoview in cases where no further modification is required but you just want to view and move on.
DeskI was the initial product, offered prior to XI. When XI hit the streets, DeskI was not included, but users compelled BO to include DeskI in XI R2 and DeskI has been included ever since. BO strategy moving forward is to include as many features in DeskI into WebI, but that still remains to be seen. If you've never used DeskI before, then conventional wisdom is "don't", just learn to deal with everything in WebI and if it can't be done in WebI, then either look back to DeskI or consider Crystal, or something else. If you've used DeskI, then try to learn how to do the same things in WebI and encourage the use of WebI throughout your organization.

Desktop Intelligence: Business Objects has stopped working in Windows Vista

Hi,
We have installed the BO XI 3.1 SP3 client components in Windows Vista Machine. When I was working with Desktop Intelligence, the program keep terminates irregularly. A pop-up window would appear saying "Business Objects has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." It asks me to close the program. The window always pops up even when I just terminate the BOE normally. It sometimes pops up when I was just trying to refresh the data or in the middle of working with the application.

I have install the BO XI into my laptop with 32-bit OS and Windows Vista Enterprise SP 2 but still experience the same error message "Business Objects has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program".
Please help as my daily task require to use BO very often.

Time difference when sincing

Sincing between ibook G3 and Sony Ericsson K750i gives no problem, except for the time. Some, not all, transfered data show a time difference with the source. ibook >>K750: +1 hour, K750>>ibook, - 1 hour. Both are set at the same hour. Any idea what is wrong?

Import data with nulls in Desktop Intelligence

I have data with null values (in a measure). If I export the data as CSV it shows null values as #EMPTY. If I use that as a datasource, it loads #EMPTY as 0 (zero).
Is there a way to make desktop intelligence recognize null values? I tried to remove the #empty and just leave the column empty, it still loads as a numeric zero.
Same (actually worse) for XML. It seems if I export my data to XML it can not use that as a datasource. Odd. So I created the following XML file:

I would expect the value field to be null for the last row. But the values turns out to be 222! If I try to put anything else, an empty string "", "#EMPTY", "null", it is always returned as 0.
This is a problem because 0 an null are differnt when computing averages.

What is the source of your csv data?
If I have a table in excel with empty cells, the data goes into the .csv as nothing so your example would look like
Item key,value,category
AAAAAEUK,130,A
AAAACGDC,66,A
AAAADNJP,56,A
AAAAFWRQ,222,A
AAAAGITU,,B
This reads in just fine in DeskI (shows #EMPTY in the view data, treats it as such in the report).
So I would look to get the data generated in right way, then DeskI can handle it, no problem.
If all else fails, just run a search&replace and change ,#EMPTY, to ,,
BTW if you have an alphanumeric value in a column where DeskI already decided there should be numeric,
it will read in as 0, that is why the #EMPTY string value got transformed to zero.

Remote Desktop Connection Times Out With "Can't Connect" From One Specific Computer Only

This is an odd one... I manage several servers from this computer. This particular server, 2012 Essentials, won't allow for remote desktop connections to either the server or attached workstations. I can get into the server's remote web page but when I
attempt a remote desktop connection, it hangs on "Initiating remote connection..." and then times out with the error response that remote desktop can't connect. But... if I attempt the same connections from any other computer, I am able to get in
and utilize remote desktop. Does this mean that there is a certificate issue with the computer unable to connect and if so, how does one remedy this? Or is it some other issue? I've attempted everything within my technical ability to no avail. Any suggestions

Before going further, would you please let me know the RDC version that used in the problematic computer? Was it the same with other computers?
Please temporarily disable firewall and then check if this issue can be solved. Based on your current description, it’s hard to say the root reason of this issue.
So, I suggest that you should check relevant log files and get some clues. It will help us to narrow down and solve your issue.

I want to send the same message to Two receivers with the slight time difference.. becuase but not at the same time.. if the same time means.. just we can specify the two receivers in the one receiver determination..
but if i want to send the same message to Two reveivers with the time difference means..(after sending the message to first receiver.. after some time gap.. i need to send the message to second receiver..
this type of scenarios how can we do.. is it possible to do with out BPM... please suggest me the solution..

Hi Jain,
With BPM you can easily do it.
i am giving you the steps:
1)first add a receive strep to get your message
2)then, put a receiver determination step with a multiline receiver container element assigned to its Receivers property.
3)then, put a block in dynamic mode(ie. ForEach/ParForEach mode) and assign the multiline receiver container element to its multiline element and assign a simple(single line) receiver container element to its current line property.
4) add a send step within the block, choose Receivers List in its Receiver From property and choose the current line receiver element in its Receivers property.
5) then add a wait step in the BPM, in its type select Wait Specified Time Period and then mention the duration in your desired time unit.

Time difference in transfer with OSX 10.8.3

I teach Photoshop with AdobeConnect. After some time (about 1 hour) in the classroom (Connect window), the reaction time is worse.
Language and screen then run with time difference (10 to 15 seconds later).
Then I have to go out and sign up again, everything is fine. Then the problem occurs again.
Eventually.
I didn't have this problem with OSX 10.6. Transfer works in real-time.
Does somebody have an idea? Sorry for my English.
- Connection is tested and well
- IT support was in the room and on my Mac - found nothing
- Software is all the latest standards

Not knowing what is in your "complicated menu", I would still say there's an excellent chance your iWork '08 files will work with iWork '09, as long as you followed Apple's protocol for building your work.
The longer you wait, as more and more versions of iWork are released, the larger an issue you would have making sure that all your work remains compatible. I suggest you purchase iWork '09 and see if things continue to work. They probably will.

If you have a license for Lightroom, you should be able to reinstall it from an installer disc or re-download it from Adobe after explaining the situation and clarifying the license issues. Either will be simpler than trying to extract and install it from a TM backup of a different Mac, I think. If it's anything like other Adobe products, it has bits and pieces all over the place that you'll have to find and put in their right places on your girlfirend's Mac.

How to solve the problem with time difference?

I work in India with time difference about 12 hours faster than American time.
I put a validation in my application as follows:
IF :P2_FINISH_DATE > SYSDATE THEN
return false;
else
return true;
end if;
Today (13-Mar-09) at 9:30 am according to my system, I entered 13-Mar-09 as FINISH_DATE.
But it returned false with an error message: "Finish date cannot be greater than system date."
I changed my system time as 13-Mar-09, 9:30 pm. Then it accepted 13-Mar-09 as FINISH_DATE.
How can I solve this issue.

This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.
