Time Out a Sequence container

Hi Guys,
I have scenerio where i need to throw a time exception sequence container if a predefined time internal elapses and then continue on an alternative path of SSIS package.
Any suggestions on how i can achive it???
Regards,
Harsh

Hi Guys,
Just found another way of doing the same thing, it is to write a script task and make the process sleep for the desired amount of time and then throw a TimeOutException and the alternative flow will follow the failure path of the sequence container. This
way you will have better control of the scenerio and you can perform other tasks as well in the script.
Regards,
Harsh
Yes
Thats exactly what I have suggested( just in case you missed)

  • OC4J -Time out and Oracle sequence problem

    hi
    i m using OC4J to access application which is using java as front and
    and we using oracle sequence with cache as 20.
    so when i accessing application thro' network my sequence skip from 20
    mean 1-21-41-61 is it possible due to if lost connection opened from java for oracle thro' OC4J ? will it keep cache ?or lost ? is it really time out error?
    if then hw to set time out in oracle?
    u can refer below link
    Re: ORABPEL-05002

    i think i may be having the same problem. My table is savings entries out of order. I would assume that each row saved would be in sequence number order...instead it goes from like 963, 964, 678, 679, ....??? wonder why it would place new entries in front of older entries in the table???

  • Planning Sequence/Function times out

    Hello,
    I have the following issue. I have a planning layout and many planning sequences/functions attached to the push buttons on the layout. The problem is that when I am trying to execute any of the planning sequences attached to the buttons (click the button), the "wheel keeps spinning" and eventually the application times out without computing anything. it works fine in Development and QA systems, but not in P. the only difference between the 3 environments is the Support Stack level. in P we are still on SPS 11 and D and QA is SPS 13.
    I suppose there can be multiple reasons for why this is happening, but what should I be looking for first? Why does it time out? It does not seem to matter how many records PF is processing, because it times out with 4 records and 40K records. Any ideas or pointers to look at?
    Thanks

    Hi AG,
    please try if your planning sequences run in the back-end report RSPLS_PLSEQ_EXECUTE. If you have variables you need to define a variant to start it in the back-end. You should measures the time here ...
    And what kind of time out are you getting? Is it a portal time out? In this case you should consider that in you production system much more data may be read and that executing the planning sequences may take longer -> time out ...
    Hope this helps ...

  • BC4J HTTP Container/session cookie time out

    Hi,
    We have a BC4J jsp app(developed in Jdev 9i Beta) deployed to oc4j 9ias. Every time the BC4J HTTP container and session cookie for the application time's out and a new instance of the application is invoked through a client browser, the RAM on the machine decreases. The fear is that the RAM will eventually fall to very low levels and adversely affect perfomance every time a time out occurs and a new instance of the application is invoked. When no time out's occur and new instances are invoked, the RAM is stable. The issue seems to be the time out's not releasing resources? The following is the message:
    "BC4J HTTP container was timed out
    The session cookie for the application, AdminAppModule, was timed out"
    Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Device error "sequence contains no matching element"

    Hallo,
    I just received the VirtualBench and I could use it as I connect it for the first time. I then downloaded and run the program for Window7, so that I would be able to run the program from my PC.
    Since then, I cannot work anymore more with the virtualbench. It always give the same error: device error: sequence contains no matching element.....
    What it wronf what shall I do?
    Note: I read a similar question, but it seemed that the error disppeared somehow for unexplained reason. So, there were actually no solution mentionned for this problem.
    Thanks in advance for any support.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    For anybody that has this problem in the future, we'd really like to get to the root of the problem.  To help with that I have created a small utility that will pull the configurations from your device and save them to files.  These configurations appear to be corrupted in these situations.
    The easiest way to use the utility is to run it from the command line.  It will find the first USB VirtualBench on your system and save any configuration files it has to your temporary directory.  For example:
    C:\Users\User\Desktop>nivb_cfgutil.exe
    Saving files to C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\
    Connecting to device 'vbzach'
    Found config: ni-virtualbench-preferences.vbconfig
    Wrote config to file C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\ni-virtualbench-preference
    s.vbconfig
    Found config: test_cfg.vbconfig
    Wrote config to file C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\test_cfg.vbconfig
    Found config: test_cfg2.vbconfig
    Wrote config to file C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\test_cfg2.vbconfig
    It also has some options that allow  you to specify the device to connect to (either by name, IP address, or hostname), where to put the files, and whether or not to overwrite existing files on your PC.  For example:
    C:\Users\User\Desktop>nivb_cfgutil.exe --help
    Usage: nivb_cfgutil.exe [options]
    Main options:
      -h, --help
          Shows help.
      -d, --dev=device
          Device name to target.
      -o, --out=directory
          Output directory to save config files.  If not specified, the temporary di
    rectory is used.
      -w, --overwrite
          Overwrite existing files.
    What we would like is that when people run into this issue they perform the following steps:
    Attach the application preferences files:
    Open a file explorer
    In the address bar, enter this path (copy/paste can help):
    XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\National Instruments\NI-VirtualBench
    Vista, 7, 8: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\National Instruments\NI-VirtualBench
    Attach the file ni-virtualbench-preferences.vbconfig to a post here so we can inspect it.
    Run the nivb_cfgutil.exe utility attached to this post, and post any *.vbconfig files it creates to a post here so that we can inspect it.
    Once you have done that, you should be able to fix the issue by doing the following:
    Use the reset button on the back. The application also uses information stored on the PC when it starts. If the problem is there, then resetting the device alone won't help.
    NI VirtualBench Help :: Reset Button http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371526A-01/vbhelp/wirelessbutton/
    Launch the app.  If it works, you're done.
    If the issue was not resolved, you may also need to delete the file mentioned above.
    Open a file explorer
    In the address bar, enter this path (copy/paste can help):
    XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\National Instruments\NI-VirtualBench
    Vista, 7, 8: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\National Instruments\NI-VirtualBench
    Delete the file ni-virtualbench-preferences.vbconfig

  • Fetch out of Sequence error isn't returned when doing a single fetch

    Hi all,
    As per my understanding, if we fetch all the rows from a sys_refcursor into a collection, within the pl/sql block, then it doesn't return any row to the calling program. Instead a fetch out of sequence error is encountered. This worked well. However, when I use a single fetch statement(in case the sys_refcursor contains a single row), I do not encounter "Fetch Out Of Sequence" error. It would be really helpful if anyone could please explain this behaviour.
    Below is a sample code snippet that I ran in PL/SQL Developer:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE test_cur_1(in_dept_id VARCHAR2,
    out_cursor OUT SYS_REFCURSOR) IS
    temp_count NUMBER;
    temp_rec dept%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
    --This piece of code runs into a "Fetch Out Of Sequence" error, when trying to open up the sys_refcursor.
    OPEN out_cursor FOR
    SELECT *
    FROM dept
    WHERE dept_id = in_dept_id;--dept_id is the primary key
    LOOP
    EXIT WHEN out_cursor%NOTFOUND;
    FETCH out_cursor
    INTO temp_rec;
    dbms_output.put_line('department name: '||temp_rec.dept_name);
    END LOOP;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    OPEN out_cursor FOR
    SELECT SQLCODE||'->'||SQLERRM FROM dual;
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE test_cur_2(in_dept_id VARCHAR2,
    out_cursor OUT SYS_REFCURSOR) IS
    temp_count NUMBER;
    temp_rec dept%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
    --This piece of code does not run into a "Fetch Out Of Sequence" error. Instead the output sys_refcursor opens up for no rows to display.
    OPEN out_cursor FOR
    SELECT *
    FROM dept
    WHERE dept_id = in_dept_id;--dept_id is the primary key
    FETCH out_cursor
    INTO temp_rec;
    dbms_output.put_line('department name: '||temp_rec.dept_name);
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    OPEN out_cursor FOR
    SELECT SQLCODE||'->'||SQLERRM FROM dual;
    END;
    Appreciate all your time!

    When you loop through a cursor, Oracle does not know how many rows there will be in the cursor until it has fetched them all, and it cannot know it has fetched them all until it does one last fetch after getting the last row to find that ti gets nothing back. In psuedo code the fetch command works something like:
    open cursor
    cursor%notfound := null;
    -- This is the fetch phase
    ask sql engine to give me a row
    if I got one then
       cursor%notfound := false;
       populate variables/record with values
    else
       cursor%notfound := true;
    end if;
    -- end fetch phase
    go onto next command in the pl/sql blockSo, in your first procedure you fetch the last row of the cursor then go back to the top of the loop. Since Oracle does not know at this point that the last row has already been fetched so, out_cursor%notfound is still false, so it does another fetch at which point it now "knows" that the last row is fetched so notfound becomes true and your loop exits, returning control to the caller. At this point, presumably the caller attempts to fetch from the cursor. Since the cursor handle is already pointing past the last row you get the fetch out of sequence.
    In your second procedure, you fetch a single row from the cursor. You know that the cursor is pointing at the "last" row since you are querying based on the PK, but Oracle does not know that yet. You now return that cursor to the caller who does one more fetch which moves the pointer past the end of the cursor. The caller "sees" no rows, but that is because your procedure already fetched the rows, but did not "check" for the last row.

  • Session Time Out For UNLOGGED IN USER During Search -pls help SIR!

    Hi,
    The problem lies in searchresultscontroller.java/searchcontroller.java file under search/web/handler of an application that supports educational note sharing.
    The problem is that -
    When I search with query strings in different fields(as you will find in the above mentioned java files)..the keywords in resourcedto and get some files as search results.
    Then I click on one of the file from within the search result and visit the file.
    Here if I m logged in as an user, and the session time out is set to 1 minute in the web.xml file of the web folder not the admin folder then when I hit the BACK TO SEARCH button it easily goes back to the previous search result page along with the queries string that I had input previously.
    The problem is that when I m NOT LOGGED in as an user, and I've performed a search with queries and other dropdowns in the search panel, I get the search result page, I visit the file by clicking on one of them but when I hit the BACK TO SEARCH button I don't see the previous search result page from where I had navigated to view the file.
    Please suggest on what changes shall I make in the code so that even if I m not logged in as an user, I get back to the search result page on hitting the BACK TO SEARCH button from the file view page.Sir I m herein pasting the code of the searchresultscontroller.java file, but please feel free to ask for anyother file whose code you might want to see.SEARCHRESULTSCONTROLLER.JAVA FILE CONTENT-

  • Session Time out  and session_timeout.jsp

    We have Sun Java Identity Server 2005 Q1 installed as part of our Sun Java System Portal Server 2005 Q1 install.
    When the authentication session times out, it redirects the user back to the login page. I remember that in 6.2 it used to show up the session_timeout.jsp page? Is there any way to make it work that way in Q1 2005 ?

    To be more specific, find your top level desktop display profile (marked as Default Channel Name) container name. Then go to Portal desktop type (default, or sampleportal, or...) with above container directory. (ex: /etc/opt/SUNSWps/desktop/default/JSPTabContainer) Modify header.jsp and/or menubar.jsp (something ...?action=logout with goto=http:///.....) HTH, Jerry

  • Form based login, iframes and session time out

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to create a site using form based login.
    The site contains a page protected page, default.jsp that have a logout button/link (clicking it invalidates the session), and a navigation bar with links linking opening them in iframes inside the default.jsp page:
    I have also a login.jsp page and and a error.jsp page
    Everything works fine I can login, I can logout. My problem occurs when the session times out and the user tries to access protected contents in the internal frames. He then is promted for a new login. The problem is that the login,jsp page now turns up inside the jframe designatet for my contents.
    I woud have liked the login page to turn up at the top level i.e. filling the entire browser window (i.e on the same level as the default.jsp page). Is this somehow possible?
    Regards
    Uno Engborg

    Easy answer: use JS to jump out iframe.
    Best answer: don't use iframes, but use server side includes like jsp:include. Iframes have too much disadvangages, topping the extremely bad SEO and UX.

  • Lightroom 5.7 Imports Photos Out of Sequence

    Since updating to Lightroom 5.7 photos are imported out of sequence.  They are in the correct sequence when the card is read but during import they are scrambled, for example: importing five photos in order A, B, C, D and E but the sequence after import was A was 0001, D was 0002, B was 0003 and E was 0004 and C was 0005.  Not a big deal with 5 photos but it makes processing more difficult with a large imports.  Has anyone else run into this and how was it fixed?  Thanks!

    My best work around for this is to just import them without renaming them, then once they are imported, I go into the folder they are in and sort with Capture time. Then I select all of them (Command A) and then go to the toolbar, Library->Rename Photos and then select my favorite way to name my pictures. It renames them super fast and now the file name sequence and the capture times are all in sync. There are a lot of improvements that need to be made with LR. Another issue that takes work outside of Lightroom is the "Make Second Copy" in the Import section. That needs its own section with way more options.

    I've tried googling, but no suggestion seems to work. Any help?

    This is basically a workaround, but still. You can try hold_connect script to automatically watch connection status. It can be found here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=103139. Just add "iwconfig wlan0 power off" string in function connect under "sudo netcfg down ..." line.

  • How to deal with deadlock on wwv_flow_data table when http server times out

    There are some threads about a deadlock on the wwv_flow_data table. None of them contain a real explanation for this behaviour. In my case I will try to explain what I think is happening. Maybe it helps somebody who is hitting the same matter.
    In my case with APEX 3.2.1 I am navigating from one page to another. Doing this APEX will lock the table wwv_flow_data. As soon as the other page is shown the lock will be released. But now this other page contains a bad performing query (standaard report region). After 5 minutes the http server (modplsql) will time out and present the message "No response from the application server" on the screen. In the meanwhile the query is still running on the database server and the lock stays on the wwv_flow_data table.
    Normal user behaviour will be that the user will use the back button to return to the previous page and tries it again to navigate to the other page or
    the user will try to refresh the page with the bad performing query.
    And voila now you will have a deadlock on the wwv_flow_data table since a second session is trying to do the same thing while the first hasn't finished yet.
    How to deal with it?
    First of all. Have a good look at the bad performing query. Maybe you can improve it that it will succeed before the http server will timeout.
    In my case the 11gr1 optimizer couldn't handle a subquery factoring clause in the best way. After changing it back to a classical inline query the problem was solved.
    Secondly you could increase the timeout parameter of the http server. Although this not the best way.
    Maybe it would better if APEX in a next version would release the lock on the table wwv_flow_date earlier or do a rollback just before the moment that the http server is timing out.

    Hello Shmoove,
    I saw your reply here and you probably understand the problems the HTTP 100 response may cause.
    I am trying to send image that was taken by getSnapshot. The problem is that the server respond with this HTTP 100 message.
    I suspect that the reason that my server doesn't recognize the file that I'm sending from J2me is that the "server to client" response to the 100 message comes after the second message of (see what the TCPIP viewer shows down here):

  • Time out not working in program

    Hello all,
    I have a program that is not timing out after 2 or 3 hours of on-line execution. I have checked that the parameter abap.timeout and it is set to 5200 secs. I have been told that a commit work or a message statement will reset the timmer that controls this time out. However, the part of the code that is eating basiclly all the time does not contain either of these statements. Does any one know of where I could get a complete list of statements that reset the time out timmer?
    On another related issue, when I executed the program in run time analysis it took the normal 2 and a half hours. And on return to the run time analyses main screen I recieved the error  'Unable to end the measurement (error number 5, Time limit reached)' Message no. S7 068. Without any extra information. It's obviously not suprising that the runtime analysis program refuse to analysis code that takes more than two hours to execute but could anyone tell me which parameter controls this time limit?
    Thanks in advance for your help as I am in real need of it.
    Jamie

    Hi Jamie,
    In runtime analysis, these problems are there what you can do the best options in ECC6.0 is ST12 for doing both Run Time Analysis and SQL Trace. In ST12 you have the option to increase the timlimit so that your programs whole measurement will come in file which is generated by SAP.
    Following are the steps for using ST12:
    1. Open ST12. Click on Current Mode.
    2. Enter the program name or transaction code for which you want to do the measurement.
    3.There is button in the middle of the screen which has given the heading as 'Further opt.'  there you can increase the file size to 99MB and at the bottom Max Trace Runtime which you can increase upto 2147483647 and enter.
    4. Then Click on Execute.
    5. Enter the inputs of the Selection screen.
    6. After the program run is completed in the TRACE ANALYSIS section select your program and after that it appears in the Selected trace analysis box.
    7. After that click on ABAP Trace that will give an exact analysis and for SQL Trace Click on Performance Trace.
    8. and for Checking how much CPU Utilization and how much Data base utilization is required click on SUMMARY.
    Thanks
    Harsh

  • Time out problem in BPS

    BPS friends,
    We have a planning function to copy Versions based with some filters. The copy function takes 5 hours and times out after that. The function is reaching max buffer size as recommended by SAP so we cant increase the buffer size anymore.
    We are on BW-BPS 3.5.
    How can I solve this time out problem? Please respond to me.

    Hi Pat,
    How many record did you copy ??
    Could you restrict the copy in not 1 package ??
    Package per package ...
    I suggest you ..
    e.g. you have restriction by a 0CALMONTH / something ..
    Then,
    You can copy e.g. for January to March, then March to August, etc.
    You can automate it by planning sequence.
    Hopefully it can help you a lot.
    Regards,
    Niel.
    thanks for the points you choose to assign.
