Timeline NOT opening Sequences - Help!

Hello all,
I've got a major emergency that I would greatly appreciate any help with. I've been editing a documentary for the last two years and recently have started to have a few issues.
My timeline won't open any of my sequences except for one or two of a really old sequence. When I click to open various sequences in the Browser, the canvas briefly shows the labeled sequence but then it disappears, never appearing in my actual timeline. Therefore I cannot edit or even see all the work I've done in the most recent sequences.
This happened a few weeks ago and I deleted all of the render files(over 18 gb) and things were fine. Now I only have 3.7 gigs of render files and its happening all over.
Please help with any suggestions. Final Cut will be the death of me and I am on a tight deadline. Thank you so much in advance!

Hey Patrick,
At most a few of the sequences are around 70 minutes, most are less than 30. I have more than 20 gigs left on my internal HD, which is where I am saving the project file. The rest of the project file is saved throughout three external HD's, where the mininum amount of space left is 10 gigs.
I've tried creating new project file and doing exactly that but it still wont open the sequence, the new sequence shows in the canvas for a split second then disappears, with nothing in the timeline...
Any thoughts?

Is your scratch drive over 1 Terabyte? Photoshop 7 was never programmed for those sizes and will return that type of error if you recently changed drives,
Solution is to partition that drive to less than one 1 TB or find a smaller drive.
And update to 7.0.1 Adobe - Photoshop : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 update

First, there are no Mac viruses in the wild.
recently random sites have had a warning message thing come up that looks like a Norton Anti-virus telling me to run my browser in 'safe' mode or something.
So far it hasn't really done anything malicious, but I'd like to stop it before it does.
The file is an .exe file and unless you are running a Windows partition on your Mac, the Mac OS X cannot open those files. You're OK! If you are running Windows then you would need anti virus software, but it would be installed on the Windows partition, not the Mac OS X.
Nothing to be worry about. They are trying to get your to purchase anti virus software. Norton a/v for a Mac is the worst thing you could install. It's invasive and impossible to UNinstall.

When you rest the mouse over a dock icon, does its name pop up?
What happens if you open an application by ctrl-clicking on the icon then selecting Open?

Well, it is showing as being install in the version of Firefox that you posted here with.

Probably caused by an extension, or a couple of extensions that are in conflict with each other.

Try creating a new user account (System Preferences > Users & Groups) and see if they work in the new account. If they do, the problem is most likely limited to your account (corrupted preference files perhaps). If they don't, it is probably something with your install.

I am running windows 7. We updated firefox and it would no longer open. I uninstalled it and reinstalled from firefox website. I click on the firefox icon and it will not open. Help please

Right-click on your Windows Taskbar and select Start Task Manager. Look in Task Manager for processes running that are Firefox-related, such as Firefox.exe or plugin-container.exe. If you see either of those, right-click each of them and select "End process". Then try again to start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]].

Uninstalling and then reinstalling your iTunes should also get your Bonjour reinstalled.
For the reinstall, use an installer downloaded from the Apple website:

If you'd prefer not to uninstall iTunes, try the following procedure.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with one of the Windows OS dlls associated with Cryptographic Services.
I'd first try the fixit from the following Microsoft document. (One of the things it does is reregister your copy of the dssenh.dll file.)
You cannot install some updates or programs
... but if you still get the issue, I'd try an sfc /scannow as per the instructions in the following document:

I am trying to open some *.avi files in quicktime, they are from my security camera at home. It will not open them, would anyone be able to help me? It says I need a plugin but it does not tell me which one.
Basically your player is telling you that you need to install the codecs that will play the compressed data within the AVI file.
AVI is a legacy file container in which the tracks of data are interleaved to maintain synchronization. This data can be encoded using many different audio and video codecs. Your problem is to determine which codecs you need for the player you are trying to use and install them if they are available. Failing that, your will either have to play the files in a different player which has the codec support your require built into the app or convert the content to a compression format that is natively compatible with the player you wish to use.
Since you have not stated what platform, operating system, and particular player you are targeting for playback, it is difficult to provide precise instructions for fixing your specific problem at this point. Suggest you try alternative players compatible with your system and platform to see if they will play the files, use a dedicated media information utility to determine the codecs needed for playback, or post a sample file for analysis.

I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended on MAC and Bridge does not open. It did open when I first downloaded it - but now a black question mark is over the BR icon and it does not open up. Any ideas from anyone?

I just thought it was interesting and helpful to me to learn that the icon for Bridge does not appear anywhere. Not in Application Folder. Not in the Finders Directory Files. I see your point - if I could locate that icon - I'd be set by dragging it onto my DOCK and launching it from there.
So - I'm assuming I need to uninstall CS6. Please list all the steps for me to uninstall so that I don't miss any CS6 files.
When I search in FINDER for CS6 uninstall- I see two icons - red adobe "UNINSTALL ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6" (both files are identical) Under KIND they both say Alias - with two different dates they were last opened (in November - few minutes apart). Is that what I use to uninstall completely all the files related to PS CS6 Extended as well as Bridge?
Do I need to DEACTIVATE ANYTHING ANYWHERE?
DOES ANYTHING NEED TO GO INTO TRASH.
I just want to make sure 'everything' related to CS6 Extended is off my computer and out of all the files. In the event i want to re-install - naturally I don't want to run into any conflicting 'issues'.
Do you think if I reinstall I will run into this same problem again (BR not launching)? Is there anything I can do to prevent it? I note on the forums - going a few years back - that there have been a lot of issues related to this same problem - even in other versions of the Creative Suite. Is Adobe doing anything to rectify this problem for us Photoshop CS Suite lovers or is all their focus just going into CC?
Thank you so much for trying to help me resolve this issue. It is very frustrating to have an Adobe product that is not completely functional. Especially when the Creative Suites are so expensive. I appreciate all the time you've put into this issue.
